When I reach between her legs, I find her already wet for me. I groan and kiss her hungrily. I can’t get enough of her.
“Cole,” she cries out as I thrust into her tight, wet heat.
“Christ, ya feel so good. I don’t deserve ya. I’ve done nothing in my life to deserve an angel like you.”
“I was made for ya, Cole. Ya deserve me because I could only be yours.”
I latch my lips onto her neck as I thrust in and out of her. Being inside her bare is a feeling like nothing I’ve ever felt in my life. She’s panting softly, trying not to make too much noise.
“Fuck,” I growl.
“How are ya this hard? My God, ya seem bigger. Yer stretching me so much.”
“Ya do this to me. Ya make me lose my mind just thinking about ya. I love ya so much.”
“Yes, yes, I love you too.”
I take her lips and kiss her with more intensity and desire than I knew I could. I think it’s all the trust she’s showing me. In this moment, I want to give her the world.
With my brother home, I can finally start to move forward with my life. It’s time I put a ring on her finger.
I pull away to look into her face. The ecstasy I see in her eyes has my balls tingling. I stick my thumb into her mouth and press down on her lower lip.
“Come, I can feel it. Come for me.”
She throws her head back and starts to convulse against me. I pull out and come into my hand. She stands on wobbly legs, grinning up at me with a drunken smile.
I dip in and peck her lips. “Mine,” I breathe as I rub my nose up and down the bridge of hers.
CHAPTER 40
Crossing Paths
Deja
A month later ...
Noah and Bean’s wedding has been so nice. I’m really enjoying myself. I like Nellie, Bean, and Heather.
I think Roni will even grow on me. Although she was a bit curt with me, I don’t hold it against her. There was a time when I was the same way to protect myself.
Besides, I know she’s focused on watching over Shauna for Logan. I would have done it had he asked, but I guess he’s placing me in the pot with the rest of his family. Val has introduced me to many of the women here.
“Ellen, have you met Deja? DJ, this is Ellen, Sam’s wife,” Val makes another introduction as a tall brunette with dark eyes comes over with a glass of champagne in her hand.
She’s pretty. She could definitely pass for a model. She gives me a smile that lights up her face. I return the smile and stick out my hand for hers.
“None of that, come here,” she sings and pulls me into a hug.
Once we embrace, she releases a gasp and steps back. With a mix of a sad but excited smile now on her face, she cups the side of mine. I look back at her, confused.
“The girls will soften him. They are meant to be first. He will need them.
“You will name him Patrick, and he will be something amazing and fierce. Younger than my Sammy, but very wise and respected as if he’s much older. Sammy will know him as a friend and a brother. They will even out each other’s tempers as Sam and Logan do for each other,” she says then moves her hand to my belly.
I look to Val then back at this woman. I’m not sure where any of that comes from, but I get the feeling I shouldn’t ignore her words. I’m reminded of the gypsy who guided me to New York through my great-gran.
If not for her, I wouldn’t have the friends and family I have now. I’m not sure what her words mean, but she’s sure of them. She lifts a hand to her lips and rushes off.
I look to Val and lift a brow. “Ohhh … kaay,” I drag out.
I look around to find Cole. He’s with his cousins, laughing and having a good time. I shake the eerie feeling off and run my hands down my sides.
“You’ll get used to it,” Val says. “Come, let’s have a drink with Paige and the girls.”
I smile and nod. Val has endeared herself to me even more in the last few months. After my talk with Logan in Dublin, I shared with her how my mother left me, and she offered to track her down. She hasn’t found her yet, but I love her for trying.
CHAPTER 41
Closing a Chapter
Deja
Seven months later …
The death of Ellen Mairettie has impacted so many people. I just met her and then she was gone. I feel horrible for Sam and his children.
Logan has been spending a lot of time with him to help him through. However, tonight, all the O’Briens have come to my bar to be together as a family. I think everything that has happened has caused them to need to connect.
