Cross scrubbed a hand over his mouth. Fletch assumed he was hiding a laugh at Crew’s statement of working with the DAMC.

Of course, Jamison knew the club the best, but Cross knew enough, even though the Dirty Angels kept him at arm’s length to the point that he and his biker husband Nash weren’t allowed to live in the protected neighborhood where most of the Angels lived. Between Jamison’s wife being born and bred in the club, as well as his own strong blood ties to the Angels, he and Bella had a home inside the gated compound.

The DAMC’s sergeant at arms, Diesel, hated it, though, and barely tolerated a cop amongst their midst. He loudly and constantly made it known to Axel Jamison’s face that he was only still breathing because of his love for his cousin Bella and respect for the Jamison family.

“Well, count me in,” Finn announced, back to shuffling cards. He was probably antsy to deal a hand and get a game going.

“Decker?” Crew asked.

Decker nodded. “Yeah. I’m in as long as my captain will approve it.”

“Shouldn’t be a problem. I’ll get the supervising special agent on that. That’s who I’ll be reporting to. Fletch? We can approach your captain, too.”

Fletch blew out a breath. “Yeah, why the hell not?” It would be a hell of a lot better than doing traffic stops, handling barking dog complaints or dealing with crashes.

Crew twisted his head to look at Nox. “Brother?”

No surprise when Nox answered, “Yeah, I’m in.” It would be another excuse for him not to go home to an empty house.

Maybe Fletch needed to approach Jamison about doing an intervention with Nox since something needed to change. He didn’t like seeing his club brother the way he was currently.

“Rez?”

“Fuck yeah. Personally, I think it’ll be great to work next to you guys instead of only riding beside you in formation. We’ll be fighting the good fight as a team.”

“Remember to keep that attitude down the road when it gets bumpy as fuck. Miller, you in?”

“Yeah, deal me in.”

Crew released a loud, exaggerated sigh. “Not poker, idiot. The task force. Welcome to the conversation. Where the fuck have you been?”

Miller’s brow dropped low. “The task force? Fuck no. I’ve got three kids and the fourth on the way. My wife would crush my balls in her fist for jumping on this. That would mean less time for me to help her with them.”

“But think of it… You’ll be spending more time away from home, making it less likely you’ll have kid number five, you horny bastard. Time to get the old snippety-snip.” Fletch did a scissor action with his two fingers.

Miller flinched. “Christ! We’re already in negotiations about that. She says if I knock her up one more time, she’ll cut them off herself.” He puffed out his chest and shook his shoulders. “I can’t help I’m such a sexy beast and she can’t resist me.”

Monty gagged. “Oh, for fuck’s sake.”

With a grin, Miller turned toward her and drew a hand down over his slightly protruding gut. “You know if I was single, you wouldn’t be able to resist all this, Montgomery. Be honest.”

“You seriously don’t want me to be honest, Miller. You might go home to your wife in tears. But what I will tell you is this… I’d have no problem resisting you or your… charms.”

“Then you’d be missing out,” Miller assured her. “Anyway, you can’t see my best feature.” He pointed to his crotch and winked.

“Thank fuck I can’t!” She began fake retching again.

“Okay!” Crew yelled trying to draw the attention back to him. “Decker’s got bedtime stories to tell and I need to win back some cash after I got my ass handed to me at our last poker night. Let me finish this so we can get to that. So, listen up… Besides recruiting three more feds, which I’ll handle, we need another six for our team. The more task force members we can recruit from other agencies, the more coverage we’ll get. Maybe talk to your chiefs or captains. Or if you know someone who’d fit in, toss their name my way. Here’s the thing… Whoever it is needs to be a team player. We already know we can trust each other. We’re already in a tight brotherhood. Even better, we own bikes and can ride. We’ll use that to our advantage to help us fit in and it’s one reason they tapped me to lead group two. They know my tie with this club and all of you. They also know of Jamison’s and Cross’s connections with the DAMC. If we can get the Angels to cooperate, that’s possibly a whole other army behind us keeping their eyes and ears open.”

“You might be living a wet dream when it comes to my brother’s club or even the Dark Knights, Crew,” Jamison warned him.
