With her lips slightly open, she landed on my mouth, eyes down to watch us come together.

My eyes flicked to the mirror behind her, seeing her pressed up against me, that ass perkier than a nectarine in the summer. My fingers slid into her hair, and I tilted her head back as I kissed her, escalating the subtle landing into a collision. My hand gripped her ass, my fingers sliding under the fabric of her little thong. I’d sat on the patio for hours, dreading the conversation awaiting me inside, but if I’d known this was waiting instead, I’d have ditched the scotch a long time ago.

I squeezed her into me as I lost all control. My mouth devoured hers. Open. Close. Tongue. Breath. I turned her soft hair into knots as my fingers explored the curtain at the nape of her neck. I backed her up into the bed before I lifted her ass onto the mattress. My thumbs hooked into the lace at her hips as I kissed her, and I tugged it over her ass and to her knees. By the time I got her ready, she had my jeans and boxers pushed to my knees.

I tugged her hips toward me and made her slide across the bed closer to me. Launched back in time, I picked her out of the lineup and paid the premium. Now she was mine for the night.

My forearms were pinned behind her knees, and I slid inside her, sheathed by her tight softness. I sank as deep as I could go, stopping when I hit the dead end at the end of the road. Buried deep inside her, I stared at her underneath me, her hair across the bed, her eyes glittering like wet diamonds.

Her small hands gripped my forearms, her tits nearly falling out of the material that barely kept them in place. “I don’t want someone else,” she said in a breathy whisper. “I want you.”

It was a long night.

Once. Twice. Three times. Couldn’t stop. By the end of it, she had to close for business, she was just too sore. Not a single word was exchanged between us. There was no pillow talk in the breaks in our passion. Like magnets, we just snapped together.

I woke up to the morning light through the parted curtains. I woke up to her little body on top of mine, her hair up against my neck, her leg tucked between my calves. The second I came into consciousness, I was aware of her quiet breathing, and now I wasn’t able to focus on anything but the sound.

I had a long day ahead of me, and if I didn’t hit the gym first thing in the morning, it would never get done. I got drowned in meetings and emails and a couple heated phone calls. But she was right on top of me, and if I managed to sneak out without waking her, she would open her eyes to an empty bed.

And that would be a disappointment.

So, for the first time in my life, I lay in bed like I had nowhere to go and nothing to do. I entertained myself by watching her sleep, seeing the way she held on to me like my hard body was a fluffy teddy bear.

She fell asleep when I did, but she managed to sleep far longer than me. Her lips were slightly parted, showing her small teeth as she breathed, and her palm stayed over my heart like the beat was her lullaby. She eventually reached out to tug the comforter farther over her body, but it was tangled and wouldn’t budge. She continued to sleep without it.

I tugged it up for her and dropped it above her shoulders, just like tucking in a child before bed.

She slept on.

I never sat still unless there was a drink in my hand to numb my thoughts, but now I was forced to stay motionless and reflect, to let my thoughts wander to my current predicament and the drastic life transition. I’d been alone in this bedroom since I’d bought this house. Now I shared it with someone—my bed too. My free time used to be spent with a dozen whores on a yacht for threesomes out at sea. Now my mind and body were reserved for a single woman.

Camille.

How the fuck did I get here?

Minutes later, she stirred. Her eyes slowly opened, and she stared at nothing for a while, slowly coming into consciousness. Her soft body suddenly tightened, and her breaths became labored instead of soft like clouds. Then she turned her head and looked at me.

Her eyes locked on mine with the grip of a viper, and she stared at me in calm disbelief. Seconds ticked by without movement or voice. Her hand remained over my heart, and her fingers slowly started to dig into my chest as she gripped me. Then her eyes changed, turning soft like a warm sunset over the ocean, like the morning light as it filtered through the branches in the trees. It was a look I couldn’t describe…but it chased away all my opposition. She moved farther on top of my body and kissed me.
