“I’m just offering my services.” Yari winked and stood next to me. She pulled my arm to say something in my ear. I was already expecting dirty words, but she asked, “Who’s that tall guy talking to that hot girl?”

Heat shot through me instantly because, in my opinion, Lenora was the only hot girl on the other side of the pool. I straightened and looked over at the man in question. Nico was talking to Lenora, who was looking straight at me. I frowned and looked at Yari. “That’s Lenora and Nico. You haven’t met Nico?”

“Damn. That’s Lenora? She’s gorgeous,” she said, looking at Dominic and Rosie and back at Lenora. I couldn’t verbally agree, so I said nothing. Yari slapped my arm with the back of her hand. This was her favorite way to get our attention. “Wait, that’s Nico, the driver guy?”

“Sure.” I laughed, wondering what Nico would think about that job description.

“When did he get hot?” she mused, linking her arm through mine.

“You’re probably confusing him with Marco,” Isabel said.

While they talked about our soldiers and drivers and who they thought was hot and not, I focused on Lenora. Even across the pool, I could see the fire in her eyes as they narrowed. Yari yanked my arm again and pulled me down, but my attention remained on Lenora’s face. She scowled a little, and my cock twitched in response.

“Who is that?” Yari asked, pointing at the other side of the yard. I couldn’t help but laugh.

“Man, I really hope I never have a daughter,” Dom said, “Especially one like you, Yari.”

“Fuck off.” Yari’s eyes lasered on Jimmy. “But really, who is that?”

“He plays for the Jets,” I said.

“That’s the NFL player? The Jimmy guy?” She gasped and looked at Rosie. “That’s the one you were dating?”

“She never dated him,” Dominic snapped, looking at Yari like he wanted to strangle her.

“Yup. That’s Jimmy.” Rosie smiled. “See? This is what happens when you go MIA.”

“Damn.” Yari pulled my arm. “Introduce us.”

“Go introduce yourself.” I pulled my arm away.

“He’s seeing someone,” Dom said.

“Oh, Yari doesn’t care. She just wants to f—” My words were cut off by her hand over my mouth.

If Lenora had done this, I would have licked or bit the palm of her hand. Shit, if Yari had done this last week, I would have done it, but now, my eyes were on Lenora, who was getting more visibly upset by the second. I didn’t like it. The jealousy was cute when we talked about whether or not I liked older or younger women. Yari was here in the flesh, though, and I didn’t want Lenora to feel threatened by her in any way. Not that she should. No one in this party had anything on Lenora. Besides, she was too good. I wanted to make her smile. And scream my name.

I yanked Yari’s hand from my mouth.

“I just want to meet the man my best friend almost gave her heart to,” she said.

“Yaritza,” Dominic warned.

Yari ignored him. She lived for this shit. She was just as bad as Gabriel, trying to make Dom jealous as if it took much to poke the bear when it came to Rosie. Last week, I told Rosie she looked good in some white jeans, and Dominic looked at me like he wanted to murder me.

“I did not give him my heart. I almost checked number five off the—” Rosie’s sentence was interrupted by her husband.

“Okay, that’s enough. You wanted me riled up?” he asked, dipping down and lifting her in his arms like a bride on her wedding night. He buried his face in her neck and made her yelp.

“Dominic.” She slapped his chest. “You know we’re joking.”

“And you know I hate those jokes.” He shot her what he probably thought was a stern look and then shot Yari a real stern look that promised death if she kept going.

“Okay, I’m going. Can you let Rosie down so she can introduce me to him, or is she no longer allowed to talk to him?” Yari asked, raising an eyebrow.

“Of course, she’s allowed to talk to him. Contrary to popular belief, I don’t control her life. And Jimmy’s a friend.” Dom winked as he set his wife down.

Rosie grabbed his face and kissed him before taking Yari’s and Isabel’s hands in hers. Isabel automatically grabbed Emma’s, and they headed off. They looked like they were about to skip into a fucking musical, holding hands like that. Gabe followed them off to greet his finance friends who had arrived.

“It’s like she wants my blood pressure to go up,” Dom said under his breath.

“You’re the moron who falls for it every time.” I shook my head.

“I don’t fall for it. I know I have nothing to worry about, but the image still pisses me off.” He picked up his glass of whiskey and took a sip. “Onto business.”
