"Ridley." My expression softens, my heart rolling in my chest as I turn my head, pressing my lips to his palm. "I love you."
"I love you, too, Dimples. More and more every single day."
"We're still not bottling this and giving it to your cousins."
"We're not bottling it. It'll go into the compost to feed the soil." He cups my cheek, his gaze flickering across my face. "You'll feed every inch of this vineyard. But I wanted this to be one memory we planted in the soil together."
I fling my arms around his neck, tears stinging my eyes. He catches me, pulling me close to capture my lips with his. I sink lower in the vat as he kisses me breathless, the same damn way he always does.
When he finally lets me up for air, I'm dazed and gasping, and my heart is so full of him I don't feel the grapes beneath my feet. All I feel is the heat in his eyes and the electricity arcing against my skin…the same damn way I always do when he kisses me like that.
"You're perfect," I whisper.
His lips tilt into my favorite devilish smirk. "You're still not getting out of those grapes, Dimples."
"Fine." I twist my fingers up in his shirt, tugging as hard as I can. The move catches him off guard. He tumbles into the vat with me, landing on his knees.
He looks up at me with the devil in his eyes.
"Oops."
"You're going to pay for that."
He reaches for me, and I fall into him, my laughter ringing out around us. With his arms around me and the grapes squishing beneath us, I realize this isn't a dream. It's even better than that. This is me and him, and it's forever.
