“You know.”

I nodded. “Yes, I do. And the video cameras in my apartment—I’m going to want to know exactly what all you saw. Did I dance naked around the house at any time? Because now that you are here and alive, I’m able to think about other things, and I do not like the things I am thinking. That’s an invasion of privacy and—”

He stopped me with another kiss, and I slapped at his chest, which only made him chuckle.

“You put every stripper I’ve ever seen to shame with your moves, baby,” he whispered with amusement.

My entire face flushed, and I closed my eyes tightly as the embarrassment sank in. I hadn’t done it many times since the majority of the time, I was depressed from the shattering I’d gone through when I thought he’d tossed me aside. But even him seeing it once was humiliating.

He kissed both my heated cheeks. “It was the sexiest damn thing I’ve ever seen,” he said in a husky voice.

“Hey! Can I drive?” a voice called out. “Or, hell, even ride in the back? Just get me off this property.”

I looked around Ransom to see Trev Hughes jogging our way from the direction of the horse stables.

“You can drive,” Ransom told him.

“Thanks! But we need to go now. You might not be getting smoked today, but I will be if he finds me.”

Ransom put his arm around my back and pulled me against his side as Trev ran past us and jerked open the driver’s door to climb inside.

“Guess he pissed off his brother,” Ransom said with a shrug.

And I knew exactly how he had done it.

Ransom opened the back door and held my hand to help me inside. Glancing down, I saw the broken, raw skin around his wrists and let out a horrified gasp. Reaching down to gently take his hand, I looked back up at him.

“Your wrists,” I said, feeling sick.

“Will heal. Get in, Shakespeare. I’m ready to get you home.”

Home.

The one place I’d been searching for my entire life.

And I had finally found it.
