“We’re here,” he said.
“Wait.” She turned toward him. “I’ve ... how did you know?”
He was not going to play dumb. “Your mom told me.”
“Why?”
“She wanted to brag about you, and I guess she knew I wasn’t going to tell anyone.”
“You’re not disappointed?”
“Babe, why would I be disappointed?”
“I don’t know, I just, it is not something everyone writes, and I don’t want you to get the wrong impression. I’m not...” She stopped and he was pretty sure he could see her blushing beneath the makeup.
“Willow, I know you’re still a virgin. I think it is amazing that you’re still able to write everything you do. I’m not going to judge you. You’ve got a gift, and regardless of what people think, fuck them. They don’t have to like it. I like you. I want to go in there and dance with you, but I am going to be honest, I sure as shit want to show you what it means to have a good time like some of those men show their women. I’ll give you the real thing. Me. I know what I’m doing, and trust me, Willow, you give yourself to me completely, and I promise you, I will set your whole world on fire, in a good way.”
She smiled.
“Now, how about we go in there and dance? That’s what I want to do.” He climbed out of his truck, went to her side, and held his hand out for her to take. “Isn’t that what you want?”
She slid her hand into his, and he helped her out of the truck, making sure to rub her body against his as he eased her down onto the ground. He stared into her eyes and didn’t look away.
“Are you going to trust me?” he asked.
“Yes.”
He cupped her cheek, sinking his fingers into her hair, and then he pulled her down close and took possession of her lips in their first real kiss. Cyrus didn’t have any specific plans for their first real kiss, but this would do.
At first, Willow was still beneath his touch. He knew she hadn’t been kissed, or at least he hoped no other man had ever gotten this close to her. The way she kissed him back, he knew no one else had ever touched her before, and she was fucking heaven. He wanted to be her teacher.
His cock tightened in his pants, and there was no way he was breaking his word. Even though all he wanted to do was get her ass back in the truck, take her home, and show her how a real man treats a woman, he’d promised her dancing. Pulling away, he gained control.
“Dancing,” he said.
Her lips were nice and red, plump, and anyone who looked at her would know she had been thoroughly kissed, which was exactly what he wanted.
With her on his arm, he walked to the bar. It was busy, but he didn’t expect anything less. He noticed several of The Reapers were present. He spotted Daniel, which was a surprise. Since he settled down with Amy, he was rarely seen late at the bar. Cyrus wasn’t going to question it.
There were no available tables, so he banded an arm around Willow’s waist and walked behind her, taking her straight to the bar. He ordered them both a beer, and it would be the only one they had that night.
Daniel served them, but there was no time to linger. There were a lot of tourists still visiting Lost Creek, which made sense for the number of Reapers still there. Whenever they had a lot of tourists, Reapers kept a close eye on them.
With a beer, he kept ahold of Willow, but was also on guard, in case any shit went down.
The music was upbeat, and he took a swig of his drink. It was nice, cold, and refreshing.
He noticed Willow wrinkle her nose, and he couldn’t help but laugh. Taking the beer from her, he wasn’t going to waste any time, and quickly had her on the dance floor in his arms, as he started to show her a damn good time.
Even though the dance floor was full and people were bumping into each other, no one was aggravated. They were all enjoying the last heat of summer. He had already seen that temperatures were going to drop next week, and he was not happy about it, but it wasn’t like he could do anything.
The tourists would dwindle until there were only a few, and besides, Lost Creek always immersed itself into the fall festivities. There was the annual popular October Potluck. Not to mention the numerous parties leading up to Halloween. The town of Lost Creek entertained itself. The tourists were just an added bonus.
He spun Willow in his arms, pulling her back against him. The smile on her lips meant everything to him. He wanted to be the reason she was enjoying life.
