As I curled into him, his arms came around me without him even thinking about it. “That’s better, Daddy.”

I wasn’t little, but I had a feeling he needed to know I wasn’t going anywhere and that was the simplest way I could think of to get my point across.

When I laid my cheek against his shoulder and relaxed into him, I felt him press a kiss to the top of my head. “What are you thinking, Daddy?”

He chuckled, but it sounded more self-deprecating than happy. “Probably something ridiculous.”

“Nope, you said the other night we had to be respectful. That was your big thing. Well, you’re not being respectful to yourself.” That rule wasn’t just going to apply to me. He had to be nice to himself too.

His sigh said he wasn’t quite in agreement on that, but he didn’t argue, so I took it as a win.

“Let’s try this again.” I gave his chest a pat as he huffed. “What were you thinking, Daddy?”

Hugging me, he kissed my head again. “That I was making you be someone you’re not by expecting you to behave all night.”

Hmm.

Okay, not what I’d been expecting.

We’d both been fine at the restaurant, so it had to be something that had started bubbling up as we’d been walking around. Maybe I’d tried to follow the spirit of the rules a bit too well? Had that thrown him off? Last time I hadn’t been a model sub. I’d been a needy flirt looking for fun.

So yeah, mixed signals for Daddy?

“I can see where you’re coming from.” Treading carefully, I continued. “I enjoy being a bit…let’s call it Skyler-ish.”

That got the laughter I was hoping for, even if it was quiet.

“But I also like being tortured a bit and having someone else make the rules. Even difficult ones. Like when I’m expected to behave and be polite if I want to come.” It might not have been something a Dom would’ve traditionally done to torment a sub, but it’d been very effective at keeping me on my toes.

“Making me work for it makes it hotter.” Giving his chest a pat, I tried to keep my tone sweet, but I knew it didn’t work as I teased him. “But keep in mind, I’m not going to complain about the erotic kind of torture being your go-to method if that’s what you decide to go with in the long run.”

When he chuckled, I tilted my head and whispered in his ear. “I liked it when you were hinting about pinching my dick when we were talking.”

He made a low, pleased sound and hugged me again as I curled back into him. “But I also liked knowing I had to follow your rules to earn an orgasm. You kept me hard all night.”

Robyn got me hard just by looking at me, but knowing I was making him happy and the subtle way he’d been fucking with me made it even more erotic.

“I guess I started to worry that I wasn’t giving you what you needed.” As he started to open up, I softly stroked his chest, willing him to keep going.

As he relaxed, I kept up the slow caress, and relief coursed through me as he paused to kiss the top of my head before he continued. “This was the first time being together that had the same feeling as the first date, with you not being little, I mean, and I think it got to me more than I expected. You were very polite and following the rules I laid out, and all at once it hit me that maybe you were changing yourself to please me.”

I could understand that.

“Only in the sense that you were a Dom giving me rules that I wanted to follow to make you happy and to earn an orgasm.” That seemed a bit calculated, but I wanted to be as honest as possible. “You stayed in the limits we’d talked about. You just took things in your own way. I liked that.”

He made a soft thinking sound that had me trying not to chuckle. That was his I’m not ready to give in yet tone. “Would it help to tell you that I’ve had a great time with you so far?”

Before he could respond, I smiled. “And honestly, until things went weird at the end of our first date, I had a great time then too. Like, the best in ages. You were charming and you can dance. You were nice and not like weird nice-guy nice, but genuinely nice.”

The sentence came out a bit mangled, but his laughter was worth stumbling over the word nice a thousand times.

“Nice, huh?” He chuckled again, kissing my head. “I think that’s supposed to be an insult.”

I scoffed. “Weird nice is bad. Good nice is good.”

I wanted to point out that I really did know English, but I managed not to so I didn’t look any more ridiculous.
