Willow mattered. I mattered.

It felt right.

It felt like it was my path to take.

A VERY SMALL EPILOGUE

RYAN

“What the fuck?” Cahill lifted up his mug the next night. “Jensen, why did your girlfriend give me this mug?”

I frowned.

She and Maren went shopping this morning, coming back with a ton of mugs they bought from a secondhand store. They’d taken over a table in the back room, with a label maker machine. I’d not paid attention, more so because Chavez and another of our roommates kept fighting over the amount of alcohol that should go into the punch bowl. I’d stood by in case they needed a referee because shit got serious between them.

“What does it say?” There was a label glued on the mug.

“It says Filthy Animal.”

The fuck?

Easterly held his up. “Mine says Filthy Jerk.”

Grant added, “Mine is Filthy Fella.”

Chavez snickered, looking at his mug. “Filthy Horse’s Ass. I have a filthy horse’s ass mug.”

Laughter burst from the corner, where Maren and Mackenzie stood, along with Lauren and a few other girls. Troy, Luis, and their other two band members from that band, who the fuck knew what their names were because it seemed to have changed, all stood with them. All of them grinning or trying not to laugh, but then Mackenzie gave me a sly grin and pressed a button on her phone.

An Irish Pub Song by The Rumjacks played next.

I had a feeling Mac found her favorite holiday song.
