Corie
Knox Beckett is heartbreak in a helmet. He’s also my brother’s best friend, and so far out of my league, he's untouchable.
But a few stolen glances turn into a welcome home that blindsides us both.
The rules are clear. We just chose not to follow them.
Now we’re sneaking around like we’re running a trick play, hooking up behind closed doors, and pretending our actions don’t have the power to blow up our lives.
Knox is under my skin and tackling his way into my heart. Ready or not, it's time we make the play.
Knox
She’s the last girl I’m allowed to want—my best friend’s little sister. She’s all grown up and looking at me in invitation.
The second Corie crashes into me, with her tanned, toned skin, in a barely there bikini, I know I’m in trouble.
I shouldn’t look. And I sure as hell shouldn’t touch. My hands are already on her waist, one second longer, and I’ll do something we both might regret.
What I do is even worse. I help her land a job working for the team. My team.
Now I can’t get her out of my mind, or my way. And keeping my hands to myself is a penalty waiting to happen. Because Corie isn’t just off-limits—she’s one line I swore I’d never cross, yet I’m sprinting toward it.
I’d risk the season—my entire career—for her just to make the play

Chapter One
Knox

Pulling my truck into the already crowded driveway, I glance at the clock on the dash and curse. I’m late. I hate to be late, but I did an early morning run that ended up taking longer than expected because my oldest little sister called in the middle of it. She’s getting married in a few months and was catching me up on all the excitement. Her words, not mine. Not that I’m against the union of marriage, but in my line of work, it’s hard to find a woman who wants me for the man, not the quarterback. Is it too much to want someone who wants both?
So, yeah, I spent an hour on the park bench talking to my little sister. By the time I got back to the house to finish my workout routine, it was later than anticipated. However, I can’t skip a workout, not when training camp starts next month. I spent a lot of time at my parents’ place in Jackson, Tennessee, which is two hours from here during the offseason, and my mom and my aunts fed me too well. I need to get back into my routine and get ready for the season.
Not that Landry is going to care. My best friend loves the game as much as I do. We live, eat, and breathe football. Our only exception is our family, which is why I stopped and talked to my little sister for an hour, even though I knew that call was going to make me late for this party. A party that just so happens to be celebrating my best friend’s little sister’s college graduation.
Football and family.
Grabbing my bag from the passenger seat, I climb out of the truck and make my way inside. I don’t bother knocking because I know they’re all out back by the pool. Once inside, I close the door and see Landry Reynolds, the host of the party, and the best damn wide receiver in the league, standing at the kitchen island with a plate of steaks in his hand.
“You’re late,” he tells me.
“Yeah, I went for a run, and Everly called. I ended up talking to her on a park bench for an hour.”
Landry grins. “Wedding talk, I’m sure.”
I nod. “Yeah, she’s excited.” When she and Matt first got engaged, I offered to give her the wedding of her dreams. No budget, and she turned me down. I said the same to my parents, who also turned me down. Dad said she was his daughter and they would pay for the wedding. Not gonna lie, I was a little butt hurt over it. I can afford to give them this, but they wouldn’t let me. It wasn’t until Everly sat down with me one night in our parents’ backyard with a small fire blazing between us that I understood. She said that, to them, I’m just Knox. She said that my offer was generous, and she loved me for offering, but she didn’t want a big day that her brother paid for. She wanted her dream wedding. It turns out her dream wedding is in our small hometown, right where we grew up. Everly described it as intimate, as she listed every detail that night by the fire, and I could see it. I kept the offer on the table, but knew she would never take me up on it. That’s why I need to get them a kick-ass wedding gift. I was going to pay for the honeymoon, but they want a quiet cabin in the mountains for a week, which they also refused to let me pay for. That’s fine, I’ll think of something.
