I ran a finger down the side of his face and smiled. “Then you better get busy.”
Laughing, he slowly pulled halfway out of me, then plunged back in.
“I don’t want slow and tender, Colt. I need you. All of you. Fast and hard.”
“Anything for you, my love. Anything.”
True to his word, Colt gave me exactly what I asked for. He moved fast and hard, and soon our bodies were covered in sweat. The sounds of our lovemaking filled the room, and for the first time in what felt like forever, I felt whole again.
The missing part of me was finally home.
“God, Ensley! I’ve missed you so much. I’ve missed this,” he managed to say, as he moved even faster inside of me.
“Don’t stop. Please, don’t stop!”
He rose to his knees, gripping my hips. The different angle was just what we both needed.
“I’m close, baby. Fuck, I’m so close, Pip!”
I grasped for something to hold on to as the buildup began.
“Colt! Oh—I’m going to come!”
“I’m coming, Ensley. Fucking hell! It feels so damn good.”
When Colt thrust one final time and stopped moving, he fell forward and we embraced tightly, our breaths deep and fast.
“We…came…together,” Colt gasped, before he peppered kisses along my jaw. “I love you, Ensley.”
I ran my fingers through his hair when he lifted his head to look at me. “I love you, too…and that was…”
We both laughed.
“I don’t have words to describe how good that felt,” I finally said.
Colt moved off of me and I instantly missed his warmth. “Stay right there.”
Throwing my arms over my head, I stretched and said, “I couldn’t move if I wanted to!”
I heard the shower turn on and, moments later, heard Colt. “Let’s take a shower.”
My head fell to the side. “I’m limp. I’m so relaxed, I don’t think I can stand.”
Laughing, he walked back into the bedroom, naked as the day he was born, picked me up, and carried me to the bathroom.
“No bath?” I giggled.
“Shower sex sounds much better.”
I arched my brows. “I don’t think you’re going to be able to perform that quickly.”
With a wicked gleam in his eyes, he stepped into the large shower. “Give me five minutes.”
I opened my eyes to find sunlight streaming into the room. My body ached in the most delicious of ways as I stretched. I turned to the side and saw I was alone. I sat up, stretched once more, and climbed out of bed. Picking up my phone, I gasped when I saw the time was a few minutes after nine.
With a quick look around, I saw one of Colt’s button-down shirts and quickly slipped it on before making my way out of the bedroom.
Colt was standing at the large window, looking out, holding a cup of coffee in his hand.
“Why didn’t you wake me up?” I asked, wrapping my arms around his waist.
“I thought you might like to sleep in, since I kept you up half the night making love to you.”
I smiled and leaned my forehead against his back. “I rather enjoyed it. All four times.”
He turned and smiled at me. “I did, as well.”
“So, what’s on the agenda for today?”
“First, coffee and breakfast.”
I closed my eyes. “That sounds like heaven. I’m starved!”
“Then, I have us booked for a hike in Johnston Canyon. It’s in the Banff National Park, and it’s one of the most amazing places I’ve ever been. I really think you’ll love it. I went there a lot while I lived here. I don’t know how to explain it, but I felt Grady’s presence every time I visited. It’s strange since he was never there, but…I still felt him. As I said, I can’t explain it.”
Excited at the idea of spending time in a place that meant so much to Colt, I softly smiled and said, “Let me go change and we can head out. We can grab a quick breakfast to-go somewhere if we don’t have much time.”
“We’ve got plenty of time. Our hike isn’t until after lunch.”
“Even better!”
After Colt fussed about dressing warm with lots of layers, we finally headed out to a darling little café, where we had the most delicious breakfast. We stopped by an antique store and looked around for a bit before Colt said it was time to head out.
“This is so beautiful,” I said, as I took in the breathtaking view all around us as we neared the parking area for the trailhead.
He grinned. “We haven’t even gotten started yet. We’re going to start with the upper-falls hike. It’s about a mile and a half.”
As we made our way to the trail, I said, “I’ve never seen anything so beautiful.”
“Right?” Colt said with a laugh.
The trail was a wooden plank trail with a railing on both sides of it. I had to admit, I was relieved, because the idea of slipping down the mountainside was not on my list of things to do today.
