Savage told her that not only could she trust Maeve, but also the club. However, Martha was afraid of them making a move in case Andy wasn’t lying and Betty’s life was at stake. He had all the details about Betty’s town and where she might be. He laid that information out to Doc, who immediately called a church meeting. Everyone came, including Nitro and Iron, who had been keeping a close eye on Maeve.

The details were clear. They were not going to make any sudden moves until they knew Betty was safe. Grim was given the mission to go to town, locate Betty, and find out the relevant details of her safety. Nitro and Iron were to remain on Maeve’s watch, just in case anything happened to her, because of her being written into Martha’s will. Everyone else was to keep an eye on Andy. They had patrol detail, and where he went, Doc wanted a full report. They didn’t know every detail about Andy. They didn’t know if he was working alone or for someone else.

Razor got the first patrol detail, and everyone got their assignments. It was time for him to leave, and Doc left as well.

He made his way outside as Grim did. Of all the people to send to Betty, he would not have placed Grim. The man didn’t know how to smile. He was so negative.

“Good luck,” he said.

“Fuck off. For all we know, Andy’s the one texting her and Betty’s dead already.”

“You’re full of cheer and optimism, aren’t you?”

Grim just glared at him.

Waving a hand at him, Savage moved toward his bike and straddled the machine. This didn’t feel right. He didn’t like sneaking off to be with Charlotte. Doc didn’t know, but right now was not the time to tell him he was falling for the man’s daughter. He knew it was fucking wrong, but he couldn’t seem to stop himself, as he pulled out of the parking lot and made his way toward his apartment.

Parking his bike in his available spot, he made his way up to his apartment, and the moment he entered, he smelled her vanilla scent. Seconds later, she came around the corner, and he saw her beautiful smile.

“You made it,” she said, holding up a wooden cooking spoon.

“Hey, beautiful,” he said.

She ran toward his arms, and he dropped his keys, opening his arms, and she jumped right into them. He pulled her lips down to his and kissed her, spinning her around and pressing her up against the wall. All day, he’d been wanting to kiss those lips, especially since the last time he had seen her when she let him inside Martha’s home.

She pulled away first. “I need to go. I’ve got dinner bubbling.”

He growled, pressed his face against her neck, and had no choice but to pull away and let her escape. He followed her down the hallway, watching her shapely ass as she made her way into the kitchen.

“Meatballs and tomato sauce with spaghetti,” she said. “I saw a recipe yesterday that used Italian sausage, and I picked some up at the grocery store.”

“I’m in for a treat,” he said.

“I happen to love meatballs and spaghetti, it’s one of my favorites.”

She offered him that cute smile that showed her dimples off, and he was hooked.

“Did you get what you needed from Mrs. Bernadette?” she asked.

“Yes, and if Andy’s ever there, I don’t want you to be left alone with him. You call me, or text me, or do whatever you need to do to get me there, you got it?” he asked.

The very thought of Andy being anywhere near his woman made his blood fucking boil. He wanted to kill.

“I have not seen him since that disastrous date.”

He gritted his teeth. He didn’t even like the memory of her being near him, or Andy touching her.

Leaning against the kitchen counter, he watched as Charlotte made her way toward the sink and drained the spaghetti.

“It’s a good thing I came when I did, otherwise you would have overcooked that spaghetti,” he said.

She laughed. “I kind of overcook mine. I don’t like my spaghetti with bite. I know, I know, I’m a terrible person, but I like my pasta soft. Not mushy, but soft.” She wrinkled her nose.

“I don’t care as long as it’s edible.”

She chuckled. “Hopefully, this will be.”

There was not a lot of pasta, and he watched as she added some of the sauce to the pot of drained pasta, along with some parmesan cheese. Within minutes, she had the spaghetti divided between the two bowls, complete with four meatballs each, but they were not overly large. Just the right size and ratio. They looked absolutely delicious. She sprinkled more grated parmesan on top.

She went to pick up their bowls, but he grabbed them and walked toward the dining room table. He noticed she didn’t pick up a fork until after he’d taken a bite. He decided to cut into a meatball and take a bite, shocked by how much flavor was inside. It was absolutely delicious, and he finished the other half of the meatball with a full bite.
