Epilogue

Five Years Later

Even after five years and two grandkids, Savage knew Doc would go through days of loving him and hating him. They had not come to blows any other time. It was close when Charlotte revealed on their wedding day that they were pregnant with their first child. Nathan was a firecracker, and he was pretty sure Doc preferred Nathan to him. It didn’t matter.

Doc, Nancy, and Maeve were amazing grandparents.

Nathan and Shoana had amazing grandparents.

He was a father.

The barbeque was going well, and he did get death stares from his father-in-law, but he had gotten used to it. This always meant Doc adored him and hated him with equal measure, so it was a relationship that was working for both of them.

“Are you all right?” Charlotte asked, sinking against him.

“Yeah, are you?”

“I am.” She settled into his arms.

They had a good five years together. They had moved out of their apartment, and he’d invested in the old Peterson ranch. He’d spent all his time in the club saving up, and he finally made a down payment. With the help of the Chaos Monsters MC, he was able to bring the ranch up to an amazing home, but also, the club had decided to start investing in ranching. It had been a learning curve, but with it, they had made some close friends and allies by bringing in a bunch of ranchers.

“How about you?” Charlotte asked.

“You know me, your dad is figuring out ways to kill me,” he said.

“Ah, so it’s going to be a good time?” she asked.

“Always.”

He didn’t have the best or the worst relationship with Doc. Doc couldn’t deny that Savage took care of Charlotte. He loved her more than anything, and he treated her like a queen.

The club had given him life, but Charlotte gave him a reason to live.
