“Okay, next rule.”
“How many rules are there going to be?” she asked him. “Do I need to write these all down?”
“Probably. We can do that tomorrow though. We really should get back to sleep.”
He said that like she was the one stopping them from going back to sleep. When he was the one that kept talking about being turned on and commanding her to kiss him.
“All right, what’s this new rule?” she asked.
“This one we already talked about, but I’ll say it again in a different context. Don’t ever offer to do something that you don’t want to do. Understand?”
“I understand,” she said.
“Good. I’m not going to die from having a hard-on.”
“Well, that’s a relief,” she said dryly. “I was concerned.”
“Might die from you not kissing me, though.”
“Well, that is a real concern,” she said. “One that must be taken seriously.”
“Yes, it should be taken very seriously,” he replied. He pointed at his lips. “Only you can keep me alive.”
“I must be very important, then,” she joked.
“You are the most important thing in my world.”
Damn, he just knew what to say in order to make her head spin. And before she could think about how she was going to do it or what she was going to do, she was pressing her lips to his. Only this time, it wasn’t brief and fleeting. It wasn’t a soft, whispery brush of her lips against his.
It was something far more heated and passionate. She poured her feelings into that kiss and hoped that he could discern exactly how she felt about him.
She ran her tongue over his lips, and he parted them beneath her. This was the part she was unsure of, but she remembered some of the moves he’d used on her that she’d liked, and she repeated those.
He let out a groan, so she supposed she was doing okay. When she drew back, he opened his eyes and gazed up at her. His cheeks were slightly flushed, and his lips were wet and parted.
“Did you . . . was it . . . okay?” she asked hesitantly.
“Hmm, I’m not sure. I think I might have to experience it again to be certain.” He tapped his finger to his lips.
She eyed him for a long moment, and he smiled up at her, trying to look angelic, but she knew better.
However, she wanted to kiss him again, so she simply pressed her lips to his without any protest.
This time, his hand crept up to the back of her head, holding her steady, and then he rolled them onto their sides. His tongue played with hers, and pleasure engulfed her.
God, he was a good kisser. This was the sort of kiss that she’d read about or seen in the movies. The kind that made you forget about everything else around you.
She pressed her legs together as her clit throbbed.
“You all right, my girl?” he asked, a nice soft voice of his that made her insides melt.
His girl. Had she ever imagined something so amazing as that?
“I’m better than all right,” she said as she wriggled her hips, trying to find some friction for her clit.
“Good. We should get back to sleep, okay?”
“Are you sure we don’t need to put a pillow barrier between us?” she asked. “So I don’t crawl all over you like before.”
“If you don’t crawl all over me, then I’m going to be very disappointed,” he told her with a grin.
She shook her head. He was terrible.
But she was here for it.

After another kiss, she rolled over to face the other way, but she felt strangely alone, bereft without his touch. And her arousal only seemed to be growing, not getting any less.
This was ridiculous. She should just ignore it. She didn’t need to do anything about it in order to sleep.
Rolling over, she faced the other way with a huff. She tried to relax, but she felt so tense that it was difficult. Opening her eyes, she peered at him. It was difficult to see much in the dark, but she could make out the shape of him. She could hear his soft breathing and smell his delicious scent.
Oh, God.
So she turned back to face him.
“Baby, what’s wrong? Can you not go to sleep?”
“Oh, no, sorry. Am I keeping you awake?”
“I’m fine. I don’t need that much sleep. But you do. So what’s wrong? Tell me.”
“Nothing’s wrong. I’m perfectly fine,” she told him.
“No, you’re not. What you are is in trouble because we just agreed not to lie to each other, and you’ve gone and immediately lied to me.”
Uh-oh, he didn’t sound happy, and she gave him a nervous look.
Leaning over, he turned on the light. “All right, what is it? And remember no lying.”
“I don’t want to tell you,” she said to him.
“Well, you’re just going to have to get over that, because you are telling me.”
