Klynn was barely holding back more laugher but he tried to sound serious as he shook his head. “What else, Daddy?”
“That grown-up time should be followed by snuggles, cookies, and bubble baths.” Because that’s just what made little boys feel loved. “I read it in a book.”
“So it has to be true.” Turning his head, Klynn puckered his lips together and gave me the cutest imitation of a grown-up kiss. “Books are the best…they helped me find you, Daddy.”
“Oh, baby, books or not, I’d have found you no matter how far apart our stories started.” There was no question about it. “I’m your mate. Nothing would’ve kept us apart.”
Because if mates were always compatible, I knew they’d always find a way to be together.
