With my thumbs caressing the soft skin of her cheeks, I dug my own grave when I slammed my mouth onto hers. Words couldn’t describe this moment in time. For a second, it seemed like the world stopped spinning, and it was only us.
Right there, on the grass, with me on top of her, I felt everything. From her lips to her chest to her pussy…
Mine.
Her lips were rough but smooth against mine. Her heartbeat was so fast, I could feel it pounding in my skull, in my bones, in my soul, or whatever was left of it. Trying to follow the movement of my mouth, she slowly parted her lips as I pulled her closer to me as if we already weren’t close enough.
I set the pace for us.
She moaned when my tongue touched her lips, causing this tingling to come alive in the core of my body. As soon as my tongue sought out hers, she was done for. I got lost in the curse that was her scent, her taste, her all-consuming ways.
Another soft moan escaped her mouth, and I kissed her harder.
Faster.
Leaving her breathless and wanting more. Incoherent thoughts ran rampant in my mind. One right after the other, it was a hurricane of confusion, and in its wake was her, standing in the eye of the storm with her in my arms.
I could feel she was fighting the same internal battle I was, but she couldn’t resist me as much as I couldn’t resist her.
“What are you doing to me?” she breathed out against my lips. “I hate you, Onyx. Why are you trying to make me fall for you when you hate me too?”
My phone rang. My father’s ringtone quickly filled the air. It was enough to make me stop and get off her, feeling like a grenade was tossed on top of us. She didn’t move. She just lay there perfectly still.
“Let’s go.”
Her puzzled but aroused stare met mine. “What?”
I grabbed her arm, pulling her up next to me. “I’m driving you home.”
Like the night she danced in the woods for me, she repeated, “Jekyll meet Hyde.”
“Would you prefer me to go on?”
“I don’t know what I want anymore,” she murmured so low I could barely hear her, bowing her head in what I imagined was shame.
Before I knew what I was going to do, I lifted her chin and softly kissed her. Needing her to know she wasn’t my disgrace. She was my weakness, and for a man like me, that was hard to admit. This kiss was more intimate, softer, slower, yet more demanding from her. Gradually, I pulled away, or I was going to claim her right here, right then, out there in the open. Though something told me she’d love that too.
Being fucked in her forest.
“Let’s go,” I rasped against her mouth.
I was shocked she actually listened to me without putting up a fight. She didn’t say a word until we got back to my truck.
“You drive a ’67 Chevy?”
I smiled. “I like classics. She’s one of many.”
She opened the pearl-blue door and stepped inside. “I do too.”
The ride didn’t last long. We were back on the property within ten minutes, and I dropped her off at the gate.
“You’re not going to walk me to my door?”
“Trust me, sweetheart, it won’t be your door I’m walking you to.”
“Suddenly,” she sassed, “you’re a gentleman?”
I smiled. “A gentleman wouldn’t be thinking what I am.”
She eyed me skeptically for a second before biting her bottom lip.
“I’ll tell you what, if you want something from me,” I lured, “just blink twice.”
Being the brat she was, she opened the door, smirking. “You’ll be waiting forever.” With that, she stepped out, and I watched her leave.
Once she walked inside, I drove up to my gate and typed in the code. For the rest of the night, I couldn’t unsee Hennessy lying beneath me or the feel of her mouth on mine.
All I could envision was her at my mercy.
My jaw clenched. I wasn’t a jealous guy, by any means, yet this girl was making me feel like I didn’t know who I was anymore. After I parked in the garage, I made my way inside, deciding to take the back stairs in hopes of avoiding everyone.
It wasn’t in the cards. As soon as I took a step upstairs, my father greeted me from behind. “Onyx, come with me to my office. I need to speak to you.”
“I’m beat. It’s been a long day.”
He didn’t give a shit what I wanted, so reluctantly, I followed him there. I could tell by his composure that whatever he wanted to discuss wasn’t good for me or anyone else.
He spun around. “What do you think you’re doing?”
I stopped dead in my tracks, barely making it into the room. “What do you mean?” I was trying to see how much he already knew.
