Her fingers clutched the sofa cushions as she shouted, “Oh God!”

As much as I loved having her this way, I wanted her eyes on me when she came, so I withdrew and stepped back. She immediately glanced over her shoulder, and her eyes were marked with confusion as I slipped my arm under her waist and lifted her.

Once she was standing, I led her to the front of the sofa and sat down, guiding her to saddle me. With her hands on my shoulder, she lowered herself down on my cock, then started rocking forward. Every shift of her hips was slow and seductive, and while it was fucking hot, I needed more. I dropped my hands to her waist and started guiding her over me in an unforgiving rhythm.

She placed her hands on my shoulders, trying to steady herself as she muttered, “Brayden!”

Shifting her hips upward, she continued to rock against me. I could feel her muscles contracting all around me as her second orgasm started to take hold. My body grew rigid as my release inched its way through me. Her head fell back as I drew back and slammed into her again, taking her harder and deeper.

“Damn,” I growled, my fingers digging into her hips. I guided her forward in a feverish rhythm until I finally let go, coming inside her. We both stilled, fighting to catch our breaths, and after several moments, our heartbeats began to slow. Brooke reached for the blanket, then eased it over us before curling up next to me.

She tilted her head up at me and smiled, “I love you.”

“I love you more.”

I leaned down and kissed her, and as she curled even closer, she asked, “Do you think we will ever finish unpacking?”

“Maybe.”

“Maybe?” she groaned. “I’m sooo tired.”

“Then, get some sleep. We can hit it again tomorrow.”

“That’s what I’m afraid of.”

“Okay, then let’s take a break… We can sleep in, then take Anslee for a drive around the lake. Maybe grab some breakfast somewhere.”

“Now, that sounds like my kind of plan.”

“I thought you’d like it.”

“You’re officially the best.”

“I do what I can,” I chuckled.

After a while, Brooke drifted off to sleep. I was exhausted and wanted to join her, but my mind wasn’t having it. I was hit with one thought after the next, and I just couldn’t settle. I didn’t want to take a chance on waking Brooke, so I eased off the sofa and headed down the hall.

I stepped into the nursery and smiled the second I saw her. She’d managed to kick one leg free from her blanket, and one tiny fist was curled beside her cheek. She looked so sweet, so damn peaceful, and it was all I could do to keep myself from picking her up. I carefully pulled the blanket back over her before resting my forearms against the rail.

A couple of weeks ago, I didn't know she existed, and now I couldn't imagine a world without her. Things hadn’t worked out like we’d planned, but every scar, every wrong turn, had somehow led us here. We were together with our beautiful daughter, and it was just the beginning of the good to come.

I wasn’t ready to leave her, so I walked over and sat down on the rocking chair beside her crib. I pulled one of her throws over my shoulders and leaned my head back. I sat there watching her until the sun started peeking through the blinds, and still, I sat.

I didn’t move until Anslee started to stir. She inched and wiggled until she was out of her blanket and sitting up. When she spotted me, she blinked and reached her hands out for me with a grunt. “Hey there, peanut.”

When I started toward her, the corners of her mouth lifted into the sweetest smile I'd ever seen. I reached down and lifted her into my arms, and she raked her hand over my mouth, tugging at my bottom lip as she muttered, “Dada.”

It was one little word, but it damn near brought me to my knees.

“Yeah, that’s right.” I kissed her on top of the head and smiled. “That’s me.”

I carried her over to the changing table, changed her diaper, and wrestled her into a clean outfit. By the time we made it to the kitchen, she was more interested in playing with my hair than getting into her highchair. That was fine. Breakfast could wait.

I started the pot of coffee before grabbing one of Anslee’s sippy cups from the cabinet. I poured her some juice and tightened the lid. I stood there for a moment, checking to see if I heard Brooke, but there was nothing.

She was still out, so I grabbed a blanket from the couch and eased it over Anslee before stepping out onto the porch. The lake was smooth as glass, and the only sounds that could be heard were the birds chirping in the distance.
