“Most of the women in this family were born in January, including Jenna, so we usually get together around the fifteenth for a huge celebration.” He paused. “Jenna hasn’t been able to attend the last few because of work, and I know how much that means to you both, so we won’t be offended if you can’t come.”
“I’ll make sure we’re here.” He smiled. “Thanks for telling me.”
He said it like it wasn’t up for debate.
My father blew me a kiss before stepping back and watching Nicholas slide behind the wheel.
Nicholas waited until my door was closed before pulling away.
As we coasted onto the street, Nicholas looked over at me.
“You’ve never told me about the birthday thing, Jenna,” he said.
I stared out the window, already knowing exactly why.
“As if you would’ve let me get away with that.”
“Is there anything else you’d like to let me know about you—that I don’t already, or do I just have to wait until we get to the hotel to fuck it out of you?”
“The latter.”
“Fair enough.” He laughed and sped up.

The highway traffic hadn’t moved an inch for two hours.
The snow was falling like rain—icing over the lanes without care, while bright yellow construction signs flashed “Dangerous Conditions” warnings from miles ahead.
Every now and then, Jenna looked over at me, her eyes glazed over, and pressed a kiss against my lips. I took full advantage, not even trying to fill the silence with conversation.
“We can go back to your parents’ house if you want,” I said. “It’ll probably be quicker than going back to the hotel.”
“But we probably won’t be able to have sex.”
“Excuse me?”
“I said I don’t know what’s next.” She lied, her face flushed bright red. “I would prefer if we went back to the hotel.”
“Want to play that ‘fact or fiction’ game while we wait?”
“We have to set up the grand prizes first.”
“Okay.” I smiled at her. “Oral for both. I’ll go first.”
“That’s not fair.”
“You went first last time.” I clasped her hand. “You’re the sexiest woman I’ve ever seen.”
“Fiction.”
“Easy fact.” I looked into her eyes. “You should know better.”
“You’re the ugliest man I’ve ever seen.”
“Unbelievable fiction.” I arched a brow. “Are you trying to lose?”
“Yes.” She smiled like she already knew what she was doing.
She leaned over and unzipped my pants, but I gripped her wrist.
“I don’t think so,” I said, putting the car in park. “I’m not sure I appreciate you setting up a rigged game.”
“You’re turning down a blow job?”
“Not at all.” I threaded my fingers through her hair before leaning back in my seat. “I’m just delaying it until after I make you come first. Crawl over the center console and sit on my face.”
“Now?” Her eyes widened and her cheeks reddened to a deeper shade of red. “What if someone sees us?”
“The windows are tinted Jenna,” I said. “No one will see anything I’m about to do to you…”
“I can wait until we make it to the hotel.”
“I can’t.” I grabbed her hands and pulled her over, settling her into my lap. “Climb up and sit on my face.” I enunciated every syllable. “Now.”
She straddled me briefly before I guided her higher.
Since she wasn’t moving as fast as I liked, I slid my hands under her dress and tore off her panties, tossing them to the floor. I slid my hands under her thighs and lifted her a bit until she finally got the point.
By the time she came on my face, screaming my name at the top of her lungs, horns were honking at us from behind, and the road was finally clear ahead for us to move to the hotel.
And I had every intention of taking my time with her.

JENNA
The Following Morning
My bags were all zipped and ready to go, lined up by the door for the bellman to retrieve.
Nicholas was pacing near the window, his cell phone glued to his ear as he and Marshall went over things that needed to be handled upon our return to New York.
I wasn’t sure why, but my heart was aching in my chest—like something between Nicholas and me had shifted overnight—and I felt the urge to take a car back to New York instead of flying there with him.
“I’m not sure I’ll be able to do that,” Nicholas said. “There’s not enough time.”
“What do you mean there’s not enough time?” Marshall yelled so loudly I could hear him. “I want my damn nice list bonus, Nicholas!”
“Who said you were on my nice list?”
“I better be.”
“I think you’ll survive a three-day wait for it.” Nicholas smiled. “Jenna and I have plans when we get back to New York.”
Huh? We don’t have any plans…
“Yeah, I know you have plans.” Marshall might as well have been on speakerphone. “Getting the annulment. But seeing as though you’re coming back on a freakin’ Sunday, you can come into the office and cut my bonus check.”
