"You don't want to?"

"We can do it together?" The man behind the counter waits. I pull out the tickets, and he hands us the pellet balls you're supposed to load into the gun. I pick up Teddy's first and flip over the gun that's connected to the stand to clear out the under clip.

"Hey, what are you doing?" the man rushes to ask.

"Fixing it," I tell him. "Is that a problem?" I give him a look that lets him know if he says one more word about what I’m doing that he’s the one that’s going to have the issue.

"Ahh, that's nice of you," Teddy says, inspecting the fixed pellet gun.

He rushes over toward us, and I turn fully toward him. “Is a punch to the face really worth you handing over a stuffed panda when you have a whole wall of them?”

"No problem. Thanks." He scurries across to his spot, and I fix my own.

Teddy misses her first shot. I step behind her and help guide her, and she nails the rest. I do mine next. She beams as she picks out our prizes.

I have to admit, these games are kind of fun, but not for the same reasons that Teddy thinks they are. I’m enjoying the terrified looks on all the carnies' faces.

We head to the ring toss next. I watch the people ahead of us, and this one can't be rigged. At least from my calculations. When it's our turn, I take one of the rings and feel the weight.

"You got tricks up those sleeves?" Teddy asks.

"Not tricks. Logic." I toss one, and it bounces and lands on the bottleneck.

"You nailed that!" I shrug. "They only got one because they just threw them all in the air and got lucky." That is what the couple ahead of us did.

"Throw it like a Frisbee in a steep arc so that it lands in the middle of a close group of bottles." I point to an area. “It needs to bounce in order to stay on the bottle because the ring will always have too much momentum to stay.” I put one of the rings in her hand, showing her how to test the weight.

"Are you sure you've never done this before?" The dark-haired girl that gave us the rings lifts a brow, waiting for me to answer Teddy's question.

"No," I answer and let Teddy play the rest of the rings.

"Wow, I got two." She does a little dance and picks out more prizes. "How did you know to do that?"

"Physics."

"Ohhh, muscle and smarts." She squeezes my bicep.

They don't slap a gun into your hand and tell you to go kill people. You're trained on everything, and physics is a big one, which directly contributes to survival in high-risk situations. What's the point of all that training if you end up dead? You're an asset, an expensive one in their eyes, and they want you to stay alive. Until they don't.

I guide her toward the end of the row of games. As much as I'm enjoying watching her, she needs sleep. I might selfishly want her back in bed with me too. To have her pressed up against me, her sweet scent surrounding me and giving me the best sleep of my life.

"Wow, this one looks easier." Teddy pauses in front of a game that does appear easy enough. It's a trap, and one I'm trying to piece together myself. There isn't anyone playing, so we'll have to wing it. "No tips on this one. I got it." She steps up and slaps down a few tickets for me.

"How many do you want?" A man maybe an inch shorter than me asks. He's the biggest one I've seen working this stand, which is also another sign. It must be a problem, and he often has to handle it. He rolls a toothpick back and forth lazily in his mouth.

"Five," she tells him.

"Same." I step up.

I watch my Teddy Bear toss the softball into the tub, and it stays. A small squeal of excitement leaves her. Could I make her squeal if I got my mouth on her pussy? Would her cheeks flush more than they are now?

"I did it."

"One ball doesn't win you a prize." The man points over to the sign. I notice a smaller one below it that says no rim shots. He walks over and removes her ball from the bin along with another that was already in there.

"Here I go." She tosses her second ball, and it lands in the tub and bounces right back out. "Dang it." Teddy grabs another ball and tries. It does the same. "The heck?"

I pick up one of mine and toss it in the bin in front of me. It lands. "You got one," the man says, and Teddy bumps her shoulder against me in a small celebration of my ball getting in. I watch him walk over and remove my ball along with one that was already in there.
