Rhys frowned. “That’s not… I’m…”
“Gorgeous. That’s what you are.”
“You’re flirting with me.”
Caleb laughed. “Yes, I am.” Rhys started to take a step back, but Caleb laid a hand on his arm. This time, Rhys didn’t flinch or try to pull away. “I love how unaware you are of your hotness and how much I want you.”
“Yes.”
“Yes, you are aware of it?”
Rhys shook his head. “Yes. Kiss me.”
Caleb didn’t hesitate. He put one hand on Rhys’s waist as he slid the other hand into his hair, tilting his head to the right angle for the perfect kiss.
This time, Rhys relaxed into the kiss immediately. He needed this. He needed to feel Caleb against him. He needed to know that Caleb wanted him and that he felt just as out of control as Rhys did.
He pushed Caleb’s shirt up, sliding his hands up his firm back. Caleb gripped his ass and pulled the two of them together. With his other hand, he held the back of Rhys’s neck. Rhys groaned against his lips, needing more.
A loud noise outside startled them both. Rhys jumped away, frantically looking out the window while Caleb tugged his shirt down.
“It’s fine,” Caleb said. “Someone just dumped bottles in their recycling bin.”
Rhys hurried away from the window. “Oh my God. We were kissing right here. Right where anyone could have seen us.”
“I don’t think anyone’s paying attention.”
“What if someone was? What if they saw us?”
“What if they did?” Caleb asked.
“Then everyone would be talking about us. Everyone. Don’t you understand?”
“I do, but would it really be the worst thing in the world?”
Would it if he got to kiss Caleb every day? Maybe he wouldn’t care anymore. No. That wasn’t true. “We can’t do this. We shouldn’t.”
“We could, but you may be right on the shouldn’t part.”
“We have to keep it quiet.”
“I assume so, since we’re already keeping working together quiet. Do we have to keep that up?”
Rhys shook his head. “I can’t think about that right now.”
Caleb glanced down, looking pointedly at the bulge in Rhys’s pants. “I guess maybe you can’t. Do you want to come upstairs?”
“Upstairs? To your apartment?”
Caleb nodded.
“That’s a bad idea.”
“But do you want to?”
“Yes. I do.”
Caleb held out his hand, and Rhys took it. He chewed his lower lip as he followed Caleb up the stairs. “I don’t… I’m a little nervous.”
Caleb turned around and gave him the sunny smile that made Rhys feel warm all over. “I’ll go easy on you.”
“Jesus Christ.”
Caleb just laughed and walked faster.
CHAPTER 16
Caleb couldn’t believe this was happening. He was actually bringing Rhys to his apartment. He was going to strip him down, lay him out across the bed, and enjoy him. Even if this was a onetime thing, at least he would know what touching Rhys was like. Maybe then he could stop thinking about the man all the time.
Once he’d worn Rhys out, he’d send him home, and they’d try the next drink tomorrow. They could go back to a working relationship if that’s what Rhys wanted. Maybe after giving in to what they wanted, they’d be able to keep their hands off each other. They’d explore each other tonight, then tomorrow, they’d act like civilized people instead of staring at each other constantly, wondering, fantasizing.
Or they’d want each other even more. Either way, Caleb was going to enjoy the next few hours.
Caleb had left his apartment door unlocked, since it was only going to be him and Rhys in the store, and he was glad. He didn’t have the mental capacity to be fiddling with a key.
As soon as he closed the door behind them, Caleb took Rhys by the shoulders and turned him to face him. “Are you sure you’re good with this?”
Rhys nodded. “Yes, very much.”
“Thank God.” He cupped Rhys’s face in his hand and kissed him. He knew instantly that he hadn’t just been excited about things working out last night. Rhys really did feel damn good against him, and he seemed as hungry for Caleb’s mouth as he’d been the night before.
Caleb’s cock swelled as their tongues slid against each other. Once again, Rhys slid his hand up Caleb’s back, caressing him, then gripping him tightly as Caleb yanked Rhys to him so he could feel how much Caleb wanted him.
Rhys groaned into his mouth as he thrust against Caleb, lining himself up so their cocks slid against each other. Finally, Caleb forced himself to pull back. “Bedroom. Now.”
“Yes,” Rhys said. “Please.”
Caleb walked backward, pulling Rhys with him. He bumped into the wall, and they both laughed as he felt his way along it to the door of his bedroom. They stumbled inside, grabbing at each other, kissing, trying to get each other’s shirts off simultaneously.
Eventually, Caleb pushed Rhys away and gestured for him to take his shirt off. When he did, Caleb took a moment just to look at him. “Fucking beautiful.”
