Nicholas hummed and pressed a kiss to the curve of my neck. “Yeah… much as I didn’t want to, baby, I think I’ve always fucking loved you, too.”

Nicholas

My doorbell rang just as I was finishing up making breakfast. Since I’d missed my morning workout and was already late for work, I figured I had better go ahead and make the most of it by making breakfast for me and Drew. After we’d both recovered from literally the most powerful orgasms of our lives and somehow confessing our feelings for each other, we’d showered, and I’d doctored Drew’s hands back up.

He was calm now, even looking a little sleepy, but he needed to eat before I gave him any kid of pain medicine to reduce the inflammation in his hands. No longer did he look like he was spiraling, and he wasn’t even mad about being forced to take time off now. He just looked… content. And well-fucked. If I didn’t need to make sure he ate and then eventually get my ass to work, I’d have taken him apart all over again.

But responsibilities still called.

Frowning at being disturbed by a visitor, I set the spatula down, then quickly went to answer the door, a little surprised to see Maksim on the other side, Alfonzo right at his side. Maksim flushed and gave me a little wave. “Is Drew here?”

I nodded and stepped aside, letting them inside. I shut the door, then went back to finish Drew’s scrambled eggs. Drew, who’d started falling asleep at the bar, jerked his head up when Maksim cleared his throat. He groaned and rubbed his eyes. “Hey,” he rasped. “What are you doing here?”

“I wanted to give you this,” Maksim said, holding out a grocery bag. Drew frowned but reached out to take it from him, nonetheless. “It’s all the snacks I usually see you eating. I know you’re upset that you can’t work for a while, and I thought… Well, I thought this might help.”

Alfonzo looked annoyed that his husband was buying treats for someone else, and I had to hide my smirk by turning away. The man was so possessive of his husband, it was toxic. But Maksim thrived in that environment, so who the fuck was I to judge?

Drew chuckled, casting me a knowing look that made me flash him a quick grin. I plated his eggs, then set them in front of him, along with ketchup, since I knew he was a psycho who ate ketchup on his eggs. “Uh, thanks,” Drew told him. “How did you know I was here?”

“Security feed,” Alfonzo drawled, glancing between the two of us with a knowing smirk. “Saw you come here on the cameras, but you never left. You two finally sort out all that sexual tension?”

I rolled my eyes and grunted, grabbing two ibuprofen tablets and setting them on the bar top for Drew to swallow down with his coffee. “No offense, but that’s not any of your business,” I told Alfonzo.

“We did,” Drew said, smirking at me. I rolled my eyes. Drew was so goddamn proud of himself, he couldn’t keep it contained. “Got fucked to within an inch of my life. It was glorious.”

Alfonzo barked out a laugh and clapped a hand to his shoulder, then looked at me. “Maksim needs his shoulder looked at today if you have time.”

I nodded. “Give me fifteen minutes, and I’ll be in my office,” I assured him. Maksim, while he was healed from being shot, still suffered pains in his shoulder some days. More than likely, he’d overdone it while working out and was now paying the price. I was sure the only thing I’d say to do was rest, ice, and pain meds, but Alfonzo always brought him to me when Maksim’s discomfort lasted more than a day or two.

Alfonzo led Maksim out the house, and when the door was shut behind the two of them, I scowled at Drew. “Our sex life is no one else’s business.”

He smirked. “Thought they should know I’m well and truly taken.” He squirted some ketchup onto his eggs, then mixed it up. I barely resisted grimacing. Ketchup on eggs was just a fucking unforgiveable sin in the food bible. “Alfonzo will spread the word around before the end of the day.” He winked at me. “Then, everyone will know you’re taken, too.”

I snorted a laugh. “You’re a caveman, Drew.” I couldn’t even be angry. I liked him staking his claim on me.

He grinned and forked some eggs into his mouth. I nodded my head toward the medicine on the counter. “Take those when you’re done eating, then get some rest. I’ll come down around lunch to check on your hands again. No push-ups. No working out of any kind, you hear me?” He sighed heavily. “I mean it, Drew. Rest your fucking hands.”
