I've never worked for a biker before, and I certainly haven't worked for one who is this damned moody and did I mention oh, so gorgeous?
Still, here I am. I need the money. I need to escape my past. I need something, anything, to make the demons go away.
What I didn't sign up for was the rich bitch he decided to reproduce with. Not only does she hate me, but she's from the most wealthy family in town.
My days are now filled with country clubs, galas and dressing a baby in clothes I could never afford in my lifetime.
Did I mention the other nannies? The stuck up ones? The ones who hate me?
Yeah, there's them. Lucky for me, I have him. A connection that's undeniable. Only, he's everything I shouldn't want.
A biker? Bad news. I'm their nanny, even worse. Yet, their relationship is toxic. A one night stand gone wrong.
An attempt to make things right for a baby he didn't know he even wanted. I'm not in the position to be in the middle of that...
Yet, there's something there... Something between us that's undeniable. This isn't going to end well...
I’m not sure I should be taking this job. I thought it was a great idea until I arrived at the house for my first day. The house, which is so much bigger than I was anticipating. Hugh told me during our interview that he’d have a new place where I’d come to live with them, but I didn’t think it would be like this.

I’m not rich. Hell, I don’t even know the meaning of the word.

Last night I ate three packets of Ramen for dinner because I couldn’t afford anything else. I did put some vegetables with the last one, so that counts as something, right?

Either way, I’ve never eaten anything fancier than a steak and my clothes could use a serious upgrade. Still, Hugh told me that he wanted someone down to Earth and, considering this was the one choice he had, he was going to make it count. So here I am, ready to start a job that I’m not sure is the best one I’ve ever taken, but I need the money and, oh boy, it’s good money.

Not to mention I get to live in this house.

You can’t go wrong.

“You goin’ to stand at the door all day, or are you goin’ to knock?”

I spin around to see Hugh standing behind me, baby Starla on his hip, his eyes narrowed as he stands there. God, how long was he there watching me extend my hand out and then snatch it back like a god damned idiot? I mean, come on.

“Ah, Hugh, hey,” I squeak. “I was just ...”

“Shittin’ your pants,” he murmurs, walking up to me. “Don’t worry, I don’t bite. Starla, on the other hand.”

I stare at the cutest little baby in this world, hands down. I’ve met her, of course, that was part of taking the job, but man this one is cute. She looks exactly like Hugh, and even though they ran a DNA test, there is no missing it. You’d have to be blind to not see who her father is. She has the same dark blond hair and gorgeous hazel eyes. The same olive skin as her dad. The only difference is, well, she’s a girl.

Hugh, man, he’s something else entirely. He looks like the biker version of a Ken doll. Clean shaven and, though I’m more often than not a fan of beards, this suits him because he has the most chiseled jaw I’ve ever seen. He’s got this thick hair that always falls over his face and his eyes are so gorgeous you could easily spend a good portion of your day getting lost in them.

“Hi, cutie,” I say to the gorgeous bub, who gives me a big toothless grin. “You and I are going to be great friends.”

“She’s three months old, Maggie,” Hugh informs me.

I roll my eyes. “I don’t know why you think that matters.”

“All she does is shit, eat, and sleep.”

I laugh. “Well, same.”

He gives me a look that has me bursting out laughing. His mouth doesn’t twitch, not even a little, but his eyes light up, and I figure that’s worth something.

I bite my lip as we walk inside the massive house. Looking around, I can’t say I’ve ever seen something this nice. “Holy wow, you rented this place?”

He grumbles low. “Fuck, had no choice. It’s the smallest she’d go.”

The smallest?

I want to wheeze, but that would be rude, so I hold it in.

God, this is the biggest damn house I’ve ever been in and it’s the smallest she’d go?

I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting Delilah yet, not officially, anyway. Apparently, Hugh got to choose the nanny, that was part of the deal, and so here I am.

“Damn, I’ve never been in something this size in my life.”

Hugh grunts. “You and me both. Come on I’ll show you to your quarters.”

“Quarters?” I croak. “What is this, Beauty and the Beast?”

He grunts again. “Might as well be.”

He walks me down some long halls and out the back. Joined to the house is a gorgeous little cottage, kind of connected by a small porch. I stare at it, and immediately fall in love. It’s the nicest thing I’ve ever seen and when we walk inside, it takes all my power not to squeal with delight. Oh, it’s perfect. Absolutely perfect.

“I get to stay here?” I ask, staring at the quaint little home.

“If it’s not big enough—” Hugh begins, but I cut him off.

“Not big enough? It’s incredible. I love it so much.”

He stares at me blankly. “You and Delilah won’t get along just fine.”

I laugh. “Care to share why?”

I walk over to the bed, running my fingers over the small quilt and smiling at its beautiful pattern. So cozy. So warm. This is everything.
A rebel. Always causing trouble. That’s fine by me, I’m happy to be anything other than what they expect. Until, that is, my father needs my help.
Well, okay, I practically force his hand, but it’s my chance to prove I’m good for something. He needs information on a local biker club. He wants me to go in. To play them. To get what he needs.
A club full of hot bikers? A girl isn’t going to say no. I take on the challenge. Go in there and destroy their little club. Sounds like a god damned blast to me.
They won’t know what hit them. Or perhaps, I won’t know what hit me… I guess we’ll find out.

I’m not going to lie, I didn’t think he’d give me the job. After all, I’m the disappointment of the family and he doesn’t trust me, not one single bit. I think the problem here is, he has nobody else to do his dirty work in this case and he’s left with little options. I’m an unknown, someone who flies under the radar. Hell, most people don’t even know I exist. I’m the perfect girl for the job, even if sweet Becky doesn’t agree.

My sister is as stuck up as they come, the spoiled little rich girl who has had everything her way her entire life. Nobody ever tells Becky no, and, usually, my father is one of them.

Not today, though.

Today, Gabby comes out on top.

I’ll get the information he needs, merely to prove a point. I couldn’t give two shits about the biker club down the road; I only care about making my father see that I’m far better than the princess he puts up on his throne.

I wonder sometimes if I’m even his child, though when I think of it, I figure if I wasn’t his child, he would have long since thrown me out. Especially after our mother passed. Since then, Daddy Dearest has done nothing but paint the town white with his sperm and become more and more powerful by the day. Did I mention the sperm? I’ve got plenty of siblings out there, I just know it.

Either way, if I wasn’t his, I wouldn’t be here.

So, I guess he’s stuck with me.

“Enough, Becky,” Father growls, spinning on her as he reaches the door. “We aren’t discussing this any further. I have so much fucking going on, I can’t deal with your whining.”

“Oh, burn.” I grin, crossing my arms.

Becky looks to me. “You think this is funny, Gabriella?”

I nod. “Yep.”

“Well, it won’t be funny when you go in there and they charm you, you fall in love, and end up with nothing.”

She throws her hands up, tears rolling down her cheeks.

God, she really took it hard.

I mean, that’ll happen when you fall in love with a biker. Also, when you’re married. Perhaps next time she might pick one or the other.

“You’re wrong, sissy.” I grin. “I’m not stupid enough to fall in love, oh, and I’m not married. How is dear Magnus dealing with this news? Does he know you’ve been unfaithful yet?”

“That’s enough,” my father orders, his voice booming. “Magnus doesn’t know, and he won’t be finding out. Becky, stop your sniffling,” he barks. “Gabby, you have twenty-four hours to show me you can get into that club. You do it, I’ll give you the job.”

I grin. “Done.”

“Dad!” Becky cries, but I turn and saunter off down the hall.

This is going to be a blast.

I just know it.

Bikers, here I come.

1

I STROLL OVER TO THE garage that everyone in town now knows is run by the biker club that has only very recently shown their faces around here. Quite a stir they’ve caused with the cartel, my father, and every other powerful bag of dicks in this town. I have zero care about their trading and what they do illegally, I myself have enjoyed a few illegal things in my time.

Who am I to judge?

Still, the club is causing tension that the town folk don’t like.

It’s my job to get in there, and I have just the thing.

I’m a mechanic, which is something nobody in my family talks about. When I decided that’s what I wanted to do with my life, my father lost his shit and refused to acknowledge me for months and months. He accepted me back, but he absolutely refuses to let me speak about my career choice. I’ve been out of work for six months, being unable to find a job around town, something to do with my wild reputation, I think. I was considering moving away, but now the garage has opened, I might just be able to get a foot in.

I walk up to the first person I see, and when he turns around, ho boy I’m taken off guard. I knew these bikers were good looking—everyone in town talks about them, especially my friends who often try to get into their parties—but I didn’t realize just how good looking we were talking. The man in front of me looks like a god damned Indian Soldier. Short dark hair, the most olive skin I’ve ever seen, and the darkest eyes mother nature could have possibly blessed him with. He’s perfectly built, tall and muscled, his bulging biceps moving as he works. The man is something else.

“Office is at the front,” he tells me, eyes scanning over my body.
Think twice about holding me. Think twice about isolating me. Think twice about the moment they decided keeping me was worth more than the trouble I bring.
And oh, do I bring some trouble. Their little club won’t know what hit them.
My name is Poppy, and I’m a bad, bad girl. Hell follows me, and the devil himself won’t mess with me.
They’ll wish they left me alone. Oh, indeed…
Pop goes the biker.
I can’t move fast enough—it’s like my body won’t do what I’m telling it to, which is get the hell out of there. My screams turn into shrieks as I try to get up on top of the couch before the rat reaches me.

Just as I reach the very top of the couch, popcorn all over the floor, my soda tipped onto the material, the rat stops. It stops and stares up at me, then, oh then, it takes a piece of my delicious, buttered popcorn and starts nibbling on it. Eating it like the ballsy little shit it is, staring at me as it crunches into my snack, my treat. Evil. Pure evil.

“Scat!” I growl, waving my arms around. “That’s my popcorn, you little asshole.”

It just keeps looking at me, unbothered by my show.

It finishes one piece and picks up another.

God.

No.

It’s not going to leave. It’s going to stay here forever, until every last puff is gone and there are nothing but crumbs left in its wake.

“Go home. Go back to your family.”

Speaking of family, a moment later, two other rats appear from god knows where, and join their little friend in a late night feast. My heart is racing, hands shaking, body tense. I hate rats, I hate them with a passion. Mostly because I’m utterly terrified of them. I just moved into this run-down piece of crap warehouse and now I find out it’s infested with rats. Dirty ass rats with nowhere to be but in my space.

I reach for my phone that’s resting on the couch where I was just sitting, enjoying a peaceful night to myself. Something I haven’t had in quite some time. I pick it up, and the rat makes a squeaking noise when I do. “Be calm, devil rat. I’m just getting my phone so I can call someone to come and shoot you.”

It squeaks again.

“Yes, that’s right. They’re going to take that little rat head right off.”

It continues nibbling, making some weird hissing noise when its friend gets a little too close and tries to snatch its popcorn.

God damned demon.

I dial Beckett.

“What the fuck are you callin’ me at this time of the night for?”

His husky voice is sleepy, and I have no doubt I just woke him from his slumber. Well, too damned bad. That club wants to leave me out here, alone, then they’re going to have to put up with my calls. I know someone is on guard outside, making sure I’m safe, but I don’t know who that person is and I certainly don’t have their phone number. They sit at the end of the driveway; from there, they won’t even hear my screams.

Beckett is the one.

“There are rats,” I breathe, my voice shaky. “They’re ganging up on me and I’m stuck on the sofa. I can’t get down. They’re all around.”

“Fuck me. You are a fuckin’ badass bitch that takes on cartels but you’re scared of a god damned rat?”

“Do you have any idea the kind of diseases these things carry? Have you seen their teeth? I can’t risk my life like that.”

Beckett growls. “I could give two fucks about your rat problem, or you. I’m sure you’ll figure it out.”

“Beckett,” I warn, my voice icy. “If you hang up the phone on me, I swear to god I’ll go and take all the money we’re making and burn it. Do you hear me? I will burn it while dancing around its smoldering ashes laughing hysterically. Do you want that? Do you?”

“Why the fuck are you so dramatic? Fuck. I’ll call Hugh, he’s on watch. He can come chase the damned rats away.”

“That would be appreciated.”

“Don’t call me in the middle of the night again unless someone is fuckin’ murderin’ you. Even then, give it a good ten minutes to make sure they’re mostly done so by the time I get there, it’s too fuckin’ late.”

“Wow,” I say, brows raised. “You’re something else.”

“Don’t call me again.”

He hangs up the phone, and I give it a sarcastic expression before tossing it back onto the couch. This makes one of the rats hiss at me.

“Don’t you hiss at me, you little buck-toothed, disease-ridden asshole. You just wait, something is coming for you. Something big. Hopefully a .22 but I’ll accept anything.”

Five minutes later, Hugh walks into the warehouse. He doesn’t have a gun in his hand, which is a bit of a let down, but he does take a look at me on the couch and then down at my rat friends and smirks. “Well, they’re friendly, aren’t they?”

“That’s not funny,” I point out. “I’d much rather they’re scared.”
Ramona knows pain and she wears it behind a perfectly made-up mask of laughter, sass and a personality that makes most men weak at the knees.
Emphasis on most men. Because there happens to be one man her charm doesn’t work on…Adan.
Member of the gorgeous biker club who took over the garage next to her best friend Eve’s café. Oh, and there’s one more tiny little thing…he’s now her patient.
After suffering burns in a fire, Adan lost the ability to use not one, but both of his hands. Enter Ramona. Registered nurse on her first job since completing her degree. And of course she’s put with the gorgeous, grumpy, rough biker who wants nothing more than for her to leave him the hell alone.
But, alas, she simply cannot. Stuck together, there is nothing Ramona can do…except her job.
The problem is Adan is making her job very difficult. Not only does he live like he’s running a brothel, but the man refuses to do anything she asks him. He’s irritated and barely speaks, and when he does speak, it’s usually to insult her.
Not going down without a fight, Ramona does everything she can to keep her spirits high, including tormenting the poor man at every chance she gets. She’ll get him to laugh before her time with him is over.
Adan will like her. And she will complete this job with a glowing review.
Not matter the cost. No matter the game.
He’ll get a Heart-On for her…and she’ll make damned sure of it.

I stare at the man in the bed, sound asleep, bound arms wrapped around not one, not two, but three women. They’re all snuggled into him like he’s a god damned king, and he’s sleeping with not a care in the world.

“Just nope,” I murmur again, crossing my arms, contemplating what my next move is going to be.

I’ve let him sleep in.

I let him go to bed last night without a dressing change. Mostly because he was being a real dick to me, and I didn’t really care in that moment if his flesh started to rot during the night.

I let him ride those women like the god damned warrior he is.

But now ... well, now I need to do my job.

My job as his nurse.

Ugh.

I’m starting to question why I went down this path to begin with.

Why didn’t I consider other options? Maybe a vet. Animals don’t talk back and they’re almost always cute.

I grit my teeth.

“Why me?” I say to myself and then step into the room, raise the airhorn in my hand, and press the button.

The sound fills the room, and a loud shrill can be heard as the women launch out of the bed, arms and legs flying everywhere, frantically looking around as they try to get their bearings. It’s a rather amusing sight, if I do say so myself.

If they want to all sleep with the same man, then they can put up with everything that comes with it.

“Rise and shine,” I call, a huge grin on my face as my eyes swing to Adan, who is sitting up, eyes wide, clearly trying to work out what the hell just happened. “It’s time for bandage change.”

“What the hell?” he growls. “What the fuck is wrong with you?”

“Where to begin,” I murmur to myself. “First and foremost, I need to change your bandages because if I don’t and you get an infection, that’s on me. I let your dickiness fly last night, but now it’s my turn to do my job.”

“You could have fuckin’ woken me up properly.”

“I wasn’t going anywhere near your bed. I can only imagine the amount of fanny juice getting around on your sheets right now.”

One of the girls, a beautiful blond, curls her lip up in disgust as she stands there, clearly awake now, hands on her hips. She’s naked. And she seemingly does not care about this.

“Papi, who is this?”

Papi.

All the girls call Adan Papi. It’s disturbing, really.

What does he tell them when they’re with him?

I was with him once, and once only, and let me tell you the man knew how to work his fingers. I never had the pleasure of trying his dick, but I’m certain it’s as good as the rest of him. Hence why he has three women in his bed. One clearly isn’t enough.

“I’m his nurse,” I say to the girl before Adan can answer. “And I’m here to clean his bandages.”

She looks to Adan, shock on her face. “Are you hurt, honey?”

Sweet mother of god. Is she blind? Stupid? I don’t understand. She just spent an entire night with him and she didn’t notice his bound hands?

“Please tell me you actually paid attention to the fact that both of his hands are completely unusable. I’m sure the man is incredibly skilled with his penis, but nobody is that dumb.”

She gasps at me. “It was dark.”

“Honey, come on ...”

“Who are you anyway?” she snaps at me.

“I already answered that. Now, unless you want to clean his wounds, then it’s time for you to leave. I’ll show you the door. You do know what a door is, don’t you?”

“Enough,” Adan growls.

The other two girls, who are seemingly oblivious as they get dressed, stare at their phones, get up, and walk out without so much as a glance back at Adan. The blond has other plans, and it’s clear within seconds she thinks she’s more than a one-night stand.

She probably hasn’t learned yet, but nobody is more than a one-night stand to Adan.

Nobody.

“Would you like me to stay?” she asks Adan, sitting on the side of the bed.

“No,” he answers swiftly.

“Oh,” she murmurs, and her eyes swing to me. “I guess I’ll go then.”

“Ta-ta,” I say cheerfully as she walks out the door.

When she’s gone, Adan gets out of the bed, fully naked. Because of the fact that I wash him twice a day, he no longer has any problem getting around naked. He figures if I have seen it once, then that’s that and he can now throw it around like we’re a married couple.

Which we certainly are not.

“If you ever let an air horn off in my room again,” he says, walking toward the bathroom, perfect backside on display, “I’ll shove it up your ass.”

I smother a laugh as I pick up my first-aid kit off the ground and follow him into the bathroom.
Biker Schmiker - Turf Wars #1 - A romantic MC romance!
The newest series from USA today bestselling author, Bella Jewel!
Evelina has worked hard to get where she is in life. At the young age of twenty-five she became the proud owner of the town’s most infamous café, Wildflowers. Not only does this café make the best cakes in town, but it hosts the most successful open mic nights, bringing singers from far and wide to own the stage and take their dreams to the next level.
Coming from an Italian background, Evelina has a large family, a bubbly personality and the kind of drive that makes her café the best of the best. She prides herself in her witty personality, bubbly demeanor and strength to take her dreams by the horns. She is unstoppable and determined.
That is, of course, until a biker club moves into the empty garage she shares a parking lot with. For years, that garage has been empty and Evelina has had the space entirely to herself. Now, there are cars, motorbikes, parties, half naked women, alcohol and a President that is rude, gorgeous and refusing to keep the noise down.
Her café is going to struggle if she doesn’t do something right away.
The problem is, they are refusing to move.
Evelina is going to have to dig deep and find any way she can to get them to leave…even if things have to get messy.
She’s worked too hard.
This is her lot. This is her town.
That gorgeous biker and his club are going to find themselves in the midst of a war…a turf war.
And Evelina plans to win.

I blink slowly, tipping my head just slightly at the police officer speaking to me. He’s got a notepad in his beefy hand and eyes that are so dark they could almost be black and yet ... I find him weak - boyish, not someone I’d want on my side if I was in some sort of trouble, that’s for sure. Poor guy, perhaps he got picked on as a child and this was his way of regaining control?

When did I become so judgy?

After all, I am the one in a police station after being arrested for arson.

They’re wrong, though. I didn’t do it.

I know just who aimed the blame at me—that good-for-nothing, pain in the ass biker that took over my life, the garage next door, and stole all my sanity. He thinks he’s winning the war by pinning this on me, but he’ll come to find out, I can play a whole lot harder.

God damned bikers.

The cops might be scared of him. I certainly am not.

“I’m listening to you, sir,” I say, my eyes all doe like and my lashes fluttering as I blink innocently. “I just don’t understand why you think I had something to do with this.”

“Ah, Cash Riggs reported you, said he saw you light the fire in his garage. This was confirmed by two other members.”

That motherfucker.

“Firstly, with a name like Cash Riggs I’m surprised anybody is taking him seriously, and, secondly, I’d never enter that garage. Have you any idea what goes on in there?”

The officer, who I can see is named Billy, narrows his eyes. “I’m unsure what you mean, miss.”

I lean forward, letting my eyes dart from left to right before focusing on him. “A lot of sex, officer. So much of it, that I’m not sure how they’re even walking with the amount of STDs they’re sharing around in there. Don’t get me started on the alcohol, and drugs ...”

“Drugs?” Billy’s eyes widen.

I nod ferociously. “You don’t think bikers are just fixing cars in that garage, do you? Gosh, no. They’re selling drugs. Heaps of them. To my customers.”

Probably not true, but it wasn’t true that I started that stupid fire, either, yet here I am.

He watched me get dragged away by those police officers, with hate in his eyes. He thinks I did it, but deep down I’m certain he knows I didn’t.

Revenge is bittersweet.

Riggs should have been more careful who he messed with.

“Have you any proof of these transactions?” Billy asks.
