Tank's bigger and badder than most of the bikers at the Straight to Hell MC. He's used to being feared by everyone—then there's Bell. The curvy blonde waitress doesn't move out of his way. For some reason, she sees the best in him, never judging him for his past or present. Her sweet love and innocence become addicting. It's nice not being the monster for once. But she has a tangled past that his prez doesn't like. Tank's faced with an impossible choice—love or his club.

Bell doesn't want to end up with a loser like her deadbeat mother. She wants to make something out of her life, even though it's easier said than done. Tank's a big teddy bear and doesn't even realize it. He's caring and protective and even though she shouldn't fall for a bad boy, it's impossible to keep away from him. The only problem is her boyfriend is keeping her a secret, and secrets are never a good thing. Will he decide to put her first or will their love stay a forbidden affair?

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Chapter One

The open road called to him.

Tank revved his engine, winding around the dirty road, feeling the freedom of being on his bike. He wasn’t wearing a helmet, he never did. There was nothing free about wearing something on his head when all he wanted to do was feel the wind in his hair. Not that he had it long. He couldn’t stand long hair, and he much preferred it short. It was far easier to keep clean.

Back at the Straight to Hell MC clubhouse, a party was going on. Normally, he liked to pick up some willing pussy and party until he couldn’t remember his own name, but that didn’t hold any appeal to him right now.

There was nothing enjoyable about a woman who didn’t know who she was screaming for. He was clearly getting way too old. What kind of man was he when a woman riding his cock didn’t hold any appeal? If the guys could see him now, they’d be laughing their asses off. Not Lord or Brick. Those men had found women. He still couldn’t believe their club president and VP had found … love.

They were not the kind of guys to settle down. They were the ones to fuck and leave a trail of women. Fortunately, they all bagged their dicks, otherwise, there would have been a herd of kids. As it happened, there were just scorned women.

He’d noticed Rancher had also started to turn back up at the clubhouse. The ex-biker had left the clubhouse to marry, raise a family, and work on a ranch, but since Lord had asked for his help with Ally, Rancher had started to visit.

Tank got it. The call of the club was too strong. Thinking you could live without this life was a fool’s thought. There was no way anyone was stepping back from this life. Not for a second.

Unless he fell for a club woman, there was no one for him.

Tank brought his bike to a stop at the edge of the road that looked across the town and forests. He loved to get high up even though he was only an hour away from the clubhouse.

Life had seemed kind of easy for the past couple of months. He didn’t like an easy life. It always had a way of throwing a whole heaping pile of shit right in his lap.

The rest of the club was happy for it. They partied harder. Enjoyed life.

Tank wasn’t like that. He liked to be ready for whatever was coming his way.

Straight to Hell MC had a lot of enemies, and something big was coming. He didn’t know what, but he wanted to be ready.

He took a deep breath, inhaling the fumes from his bike as well as some modicum of fresh air, kicked off, and headed back toward his clubhouse.

The drive no longer settled him, and he didn’t like it. Maybe he was having a mid-life crisis. Or completely losing his mind after one too many benders.

Tank didn’t think he was the kind of guy to have a sixth sense, but something wasn’t sitting well with him. Maybe it was the Skull Nation, their closest enemy. Or maybe it was something else.

He slowed down his bike as he caught sight of a figure at the side of the road. Squinting to see, Tank slowed down when he saw a woman. Was she drunk?

She didn’t appear to be losing her footing, and she walked in a straight line. Definitely not drunk.

Tank made out a pair of jeans, and she was clearly wearing a large shirt as it came down to her ass. She had long blonde hair that she’d left down in waves. There was a bag high on one shoulder.

All of this in one quick glance.

He slowed his bike down to a slow crawl, and the woman in question stopped and turned toward him.

“I have pepper spray,” she said, holding her hands around a can.

Tank stopped his bike, turned off the ignition, and held his hands up. “I’m not here to hurt you.”

“Then why did you stop?” she asked. “I’m not taking up any room on the road.”

“It’s not safe for a woman to be walking down this road all by herself.”

She chuckled. “Why? Because of the clubhouse I’m going to be passing?” she asked.

Tank frowned. He was used to normal, civilian women being afraid of the club. She’d already spotted his leather cut, showing he was a member of said club. He wore his leather cut with pride. He’d earned his patch and then some.

“Are you stupid?” he asked.

She laughed.

“Drunk?”

The laughter stopped. “No, I’m not drunk, and I don’t have to listen to you insult me. I pass this club every other day, and besides a few whistles, they’re like giant teddy bears.”

This did make him burst out laughing. He just couldn’t help it. There was no way the guys would accept her calling them all teddy bears. Not with the shit they did on a daily basis.
Callie tries to look at the positive side of life—despite her dire circumstances. She’s the underdog, stepped on by her boss, her landlord, and her own family. When a new customer shows interest in her at work, it’s impossible to resist his charm. Their budding romance becomes her only joy in life, but when she finds out he’s keeping dark secrets, Callie wonders if she really knows him at all.

Brick knows he screwed up by hiding the truth from Callie. It just felt so damn good to be looked at with affection rather than fear, and he soon became addicted to the rush. Once he starts falling hard for her, he can’t bring himself to tell her he’s the VP of the Straight to Hell MC. Brick can’t risk losing her. But how long can he go on living a lie?

With a rival club rebuilding and a rat in their midst, Brick wonders if it’s even safe bringing Callie into his world at all.
Brick craved to take his Harley out for a long ride, to feel the cool breeze against his heated flesh. But no, he’d be taking the pick-up truck with no AC into town. Lord’s old lady wanted to start raising laying hens at the club, so he’d been assigned to get all the materials to build a coop. This was definitely the last thing he wanted to be doing today, but no one refused an order from the prez. He wasn’t sure why Lord hadn’t asked one of the prospects to do this shit. As VP of the Straight to Hell MC, he had better things to do with his time.

He pulled the whiny door closed after climbing up into the driver’s seat. The building center was just on the outskirts of town, supplying lumber and other essentials to the area. He rolled down the windows, but even the air felt stale at these temperatures.

The drive was uneventful. He couldn’t complain about much these days. There hadn’t been any club drama for months, and he hoped it would continue. He was still getting used to Ally being a permanent member of the club. The prez’s old lady made Lord a father. Things were changing. Brick wasn’t sure how he felt about it.

He missed the days when he’d run into hellfire by Lord’s side. Now his prez was taking the cautious approach because he had a family to think about, not just the club. Women made men weak—there was no way around that fact.

The building center finally came into view up the road. Brick was sweating through his t-shirt and felt like shit. He couldn’t wait to get back to the club and take a long, cold shower.

He parked in front of the main building and hopped out of the truck. Brick always wore his cut, but in weather like this, he’d gladly break his own rules. He tossed his cut on the passenger seat and tugged off his t-shirt, using it to wipe his brow.

Brick grabbed the list Ally had given him and headed into the building. After entering the lobby, he closed his eyes for a moment and just breathed. The AC felt like fucking heaven.

“Hot out there?”

He opened his eyes. A girl behind the counter stared at him.

“I can handle hot,” he said. “Whatever’s going on outside is next level.”

She giggled in response, a sweet feminine sound. He noticed her gaze roving down his body. He immediately patted himself down in response, feeling for an exposed weapon, but realized it was just because he was shirtless.

He was used to the club whores chasing after him, but this girl looked nothing like them.

“It’s terrible. I don’t have AC at home, so I’ve actually looked forward to coming into work this week. And trust me, that says a lot,” she said.

He stepped closer, leaning against the counter. People didn’t usually talk to him, especially local women. He was used to being feared. The chitchat was somehow refreshing. There was something about this chick and her classic girl-next-door looks that pulled down his walls. She wore her hair in a thick ponytail. It had to be a good two feet long.

Brick shook his thoughts away.

“Sorry, I’m rambling. How can I help you?”

“I don’t mind,” he said. “What’s your name, anyway?”

She pointed to the badge on her shirt.

He ran a hand down his face. “See, the heat is really getting to me. Nice to meet you, Callie.”

She bit her bottom lip, and it was sexy as fuck.

“I don’t think I’ve seen you around before. Do you live close by?”

“Not too far,” he said.

It was at that moment he realized she didn’t know he belonged to an MC. In her eyes, he was just another civilian. And he had no desire to fill her in on the truth.

She leaned over the counter on her elbows and slipped him a card. He glanced at it briefly but was more entranced by the intensity of her blue eyes. She even smelled sweet, a subtle vanilla.

“Don’t tell anyone in the yard, but it’s a family discount. You may as well get some use out of it.”

He took the offering. “No family?”

She shrugged. “Just me, but the boss doesn’t need to know that.”

“Thank you, Callie.”

After a cleansing breath, she grabbed a notepad. “Let me get your order before I keep you here all day.”

Honestly, he didn’t mind. For the first time in a long time, he felt human. Back at the club, he was feared, idolized, sometimes hated. And he was dangerous. Addicted to violence.

He slipped her Ally’s list.

“A chicken coop? I’d love to have chickens, but I think my apartment complex would frown upon that.” She winked.

“I guess so,” he said. “Hey, if we’re successful, I’ll be sure to bring you some fresh eggs.”
Lord: One thing I won’t tolerate is a rat. When anyone on my payroll screws me over, I enjoy making an example of them. It was no different when I caught my accountant selling club secrets to my enemies—I made him suffer.
The rat had a daughter, and it was only fitting to wipe out the bastard’s bloodline. When I had Ally Prixman at my mercy, things didn’t go according to plan. There was something captivating about the curvy blonde, and I couldn’t pull the trigger. Instead, I offered to keep her as a plaything. She’d fulfill all my sexual fantasies until I bored of her, then she could have her freedom. Ally had no choice but to agree. And I didn’t expect to keep her for long.
Ally: He killed my estranged father and wanted me dead. For some reason he decided to have mercy on me, although I’m not so sure being Lord’s sex toy is much better than death. He’s the leader of the Straight to Hell MC and known for his brutality. Surely he won’t have mercy on me for being a virgin.
I’m mad at myself for not hating my situation more, but I’m impossibly attracted to Lord. His scars and tattoos don’t scare me, and it doesn’t take long for me to fall for the biker. I have to remind myself I’m only a temporary part of the club. Lord’s only using me up until he spits me out. Some men just aren’t capable of love.
Seeing as he was standing in his own grave, which Lord had made him dig himself, there was no one to hear.

“You defied our laws. I can’t have that.”

“I’m sorry, Lord. I didn’t know what I was doing. It was a mistake. I’ll do anything. I’m so sorry.”

“Anything?” Lord asked.

“Yes. Please. Anything.”

Lord smiled. “Kiss my feet.”

“What?”

“You heard me. Kiss my fucking feet.”

The hole was big enough for the rat to still reach his boots. He waited. As soon as his lips were close, Lord kicked out, hitting him hard in the face. The man fell back, cupping his jaw, blood flowing between his fingers.

His men all laughed.

They knew the moment a rat was declared, the only sure thing was death.

“Please, what about my daughter? She’s not responsible. Please.”

“Don’t worry. Ally will get the right treatment owed to her by the club. You really should have thought about that before doing what you did.” Pulling out his gun, which he only used to take out rats in the club, he fired one bullet, and it went straight through the man’s head.

He was already in his grave and Lord nodded. Justice had been served. His men clapped their hands, all of them happy with the way this ended.

Brick, his VP, came to him, putting a hand on his shoulder. Lord didn’t like to be touched and shrugged him off. The men knew not to put a hand on him.

“I want the cop next,” Lord said.

The rat, Richard Prixman, had been an accountant of sorts, working at the club’s strip joints. Not only had the son of a bitch been stealing from him, but he’d also decided to use their records to try to bring a case against the club. As if he’d ever allow that to happen.

The club was his life. He protected everyone.

“Get the prospects to clean this shit up.” He kicked some mud at the dead face. “It’s a shame we couldn’t mount his head on a spike to serve as a warning to anyone tempted to turn their backs on us.”

Leaving his mess behind, Lord made his way to the club. One of the club whores was at the bar, cleaning out a glass. He nodded for her to pour him a shot, which she did without question.

After knocking it back, he headed to the parking lot where his bike was ready and waiting.

“You’re not going on your own,” Brick said.

“This is my job.”

“Take Reaper with you. I’ll handle shit here.”

He glared at Brick. “You think I need a babysitter?”

“No, but you do need someone to rein in your anger. Do as you’re asked, please,” Brick said.

Lord raised his brow.

Brick held his hands up. “I don’t mean no disrespect. You know that.”

“Do I? The way I see it, my VP thinks he can tell me what to do.”

“Advise you. That’s it. I don’t want you to hurt yourself or worse, do something you might regret.”

“He’s right,” Reaper said. “You fucking know it, boss.”

He looked between his men. His temper was well known, especially when it came to defending the club, and right now, killing the rat hadn’t satisfied his hunger. When one of his informants called a week ago, he thought it was a joke. It wasn’t. Someone wanted to end his club, and it wasn’t the first time. Between fighting for turf and ending clubs himself through wars, he was used to always looking over his shoulder. When it came to an insider willing to take on him and his club, well, he couldn’t have that. The betrayal was too close to home, and it didn’t help that it had been Richard Prixman. He’d helped that son of a bitch get the job and this was how he got repaid? He was pissed off. No, he was furious.

Usually, killing the person responsible for his shit mood helped to improve it, but it had only made him angrier. He was pissed off and ready to kill even more people.

“Then hurry the fuck up. We know this piece of shit is waiting at a barn out in the middle of nowhere. I don’t have time to waste.” He clicked his fingers. “Oh, and get the rat’s daughter here too.”

“You know Ally doesn’t live with him. She declared emancipation from him when she was fifteen. The girl’s been living on her own ever since,” Brick said.

He didn’t allow himself to get embroiled with his workers’ business. Richard had issues, he got that, but didn’t they all? As far as he was concerned, his only regret was not killing the daughter first, so the rat could have watched her die.

Every one of the men at the club had issues, but he didn’t hold their hands or ask them about their problems. Instead, he liked to stick to the good, old, reliable method of not giving a shit.
