Rory
I’m beginning to unravel.

When I meet Shai Burrows, he intrigues me enough that he has me stalking him, following him, watching him.

And when I find out he’s the one who robbed me, instead of handling business, it only makes me obsess over him even more.

But I can’t just let him get away with that, so we cut a deal. Shai will work off what he owes me, with his body, something he’s as eager about as I am. Because after that first touch, our worlds collide.

We get off on danger and seek trouble we’re not supposed to find. He craves my body, and though I don’t understand it, I know I want him by my side.

He’s my obsession, and I can’t help but want more.

In fact, I want it all.

And I’ll take it.

Our world is violent and chaotic. I’ve always reveled in that, but I’m risking it all now. I need to learn control because if I lose him, no one will be able to pull me back from the edge.

Content Warning: Sweet Obsession contains violence, drug use, discussion/memory of losing a parent to suicide (flashback), past scenes of child neglect, addiction (not a main character), discussion of human trafficking, and morally gray characters with no redemption arc. This is still a Riley Hart romance though, so none of this is heavy handed and you can expect a happily ever after for our guys. Please see the next page for a more detailed content warning

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

PROLOGUE

Rory

Five years old

The house is new, and I’m not sure I like it. Mom has hardly left her room. She didn’t at the old house either, but at least I knew that place better.

I don’t know where my dad is. He left yesterday, and I haven’t seen him since. I heard him talking about working for the O’Sheas now…maybe that’s why we moved here?

“Mom?”

She stirs in bed. “Hi, sweetheart.” She tries to smile, but it looks hard. Why is it hard for her to smile?

“Do you want to make a plane with me?” It’s one of the only things that can get her out of bed sometimes. She does most of the work, but I’m learning, and I like that she makes them for me, with me. It’s my favorite thing.

“A little later, okay?” She rolls over, her back to me. “Mom is really tired.”

She’s always tired. Mom and Dad fight about it a lot.

My stomach is growling, so I go into the kitchen, make a bowl of cereal, and eat it. I explore the house, play outside. Some kids tried to talk to me, but I threw rocks at them until they left me alone.

Dad is still gone and Mom’s still sleeping when I go inside. Maybe she’s hungry too! If I make her some food, maybe she won’t be tired anymore.

I find a pan—most things are still in boxes—then push a chair to the sink so I can fill it with water. Once it’s full, I push the chair to the stove and set the pan on top before turning the burner on.

Mesmerized by the sparking blue flames, I watch it for a few minutes, then get bored and explore the house some more. There are so many rooms! It’s not until I hear the weird popping sound that I remember and run back into the kitchen to see the water boiling over, hitting the pretty flames. I don’t want to turn it off because I like how it looks, getting lost in it for a minute, watching more water boil over.

When I hear the front door open, I know I’ll get in trouble, so I rush to turn off the burner, hot water splashing my hand, a sharp sting burning my skin, but I don’t make a sound.

“Jesus, Rory. What are you doing?” Dad asks, but I don’t answer. I always disappoint him, and I hate that. I just want to make him proud. “Did you hear me?”

I turn to the man with him and scowl. “Who are you?”

“Don’t talk to him that way.” Dad grabs me by the arm, pulling me off the chair. “You show him respect.”

“It’s fine,” the man says, kneeling in front of me. “I’m Rian. Nice to meet you, Rory.”

He holds his hand out for me, but I don’t take it.

“How was school today?” he asks.

“I don’t go to school,” I snap.

“Preschool?” he asks.

“I don’t need it. I’m a big boy.” But it looks fun on the shows I watch.

“Keeva hasn’t enrolled him here yet,” Dad says, but he’s lying. I’ve never gone to school at all. I asked once if I could go, and Mom said soon.

“He’s almost six, correct? Get it done.” Rian stands. “Moira can help if needed.”

My dad’s hands tighten into fists. I can tell he’s mad, but he only nods.

“Go get your things,” Rian tells my dad, who glances at me, then goes upstairs.

“Have you ever gone to preschool?” he asks. I shake my head. “Where is your mom?”

“Fuck you.”

He cocks a brow. “You have your dad’s fire. That will get you in trouble with the wrong person. You need to learn when to tame it.”

Rian walks away, looking until he finds the room my mom is sleeping in downstairs. He walks over to the bed, but she doesn’t notice.

“Does she do this often?”

I want to say fuck you again, but I don’t want him to be angry at her. “It’s not her fault. She’s sad.”

He sighs, and I’m scared I got her in trouble.

“You pack some clothes too. Your father will be gone for a few days. You’re going to my house. I have a son your age—Cillian. He’s in preschool.”

“I’m not leaving her.” I cross my arms, and he smiles. Why is he smiling?

“Yes, you are. She’ll be okay. Moira will help.” I don’t know who Moira is, but…I want to go with him. I want to meet Cillian. I don’t want to be alone. I’m so bored.

“She’ll make sure Mom is okay?”

“I promise,” Rian replies.

I nod, then run to my room, throw clothes in a bag, and race back downstairs before they leave me.

“She’s okay. She’s just sick,” I hear Dad tell Rian.

“The boy doesn’t need to be alone.” Rian looks up and sees me, ending the conversation. “Let’s go.” He walks toward the door.
Cillian

I can’t figure out why I’m so intrigued by Ollie Gibson.

He’s nothing like me—soft where my world is hard, sweet and kind while I’ve grown up around violence.

But there’s a fire to him that sparks the one inside me, loyalty that calls to me, and bravery I respect even if it gets him in trouble.

When Ollie’s hurt and we don’t know if the men who attacked him will come back for more, I can’t stop myself from claiming him. There’s nothing I won’t do to protect him, even go behind his back for vengeance.

I crave him—both the sweetness and the fire, the innocence and the dirty boy he turns into under my touch.

I’ll kill for him, turn my world upside down for him, share my pain and secrets with him. Ollie helps me deal with it all—even the drama with my father.

It’s supposed to be temporary. I’m not supposed to want more, but I’m determined to keep him, and for a reason I can’t understand, Ollie wants me too.

The future lawyer and the criminal. The Good Samaritan and the killer. We’re living between two worlds, this place where vengeance can be sweet and our differences don’t matter. But we both know it can’t go on like this forever. If the violence of my world doesn’t tear us apart, one day Ollie will walk away…and I don’t know how to let myself lose him.

Content Warning: Sweet Vengeance contains discussion and grief over the loss of a parent, violence, darker themes, drug use, and morally gray characters with no redemption arc. This is still a Riley Hart romance though, so you can expect a happily ever after for our guys

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

PROLOGUE

Cillian

Thirteen years old

I can’t believe she’s in that box.

Organ music plays in the background, everyone in church wearing black. I’m in the front row on the right, near the aisle. I’m the second one in the pew, the first being my best friend Rory, and to my right, there’s Tiernan—my cousin and other best friend. My uncle Sloan is next, followed by Aunt Fia and Tiernan’s sister Aislin. The rest of the pew and the one behind us are filled with other members of our chosen family…of our organization.

My father is nowhere to be found.

Rory shifts his leg closer to mine, pressing our thighs together. It helps my tight muscles relax, even if it doesn’t calm the ache in my chest. They didn’t say it to me, but I know Rory and Tiernan are flanking me to offer support because my mom is dead, and my dad is just…gone. The second she took her last breath, he walked out of the room, and that was five days ago. We haven’t seen him since. The only reason we’re having this service right now is because Aunt Fia organized it. I heard her talking with Uncle Sloan. He’s been in contact with my dad. I tried reaching my dad too, but he hasn’t returned my calls. I stopped trying after day two.

The service feels like it lasts a hundred years. The only reason I don’t get up and run out is because of Rory and Tiernan, who act like my guardian fucking angels at my sides. That, and I don’t want to leave my mom on this day. She already doesn’t have my father with her. I won’t leave her too.

Aunt Fia gets up and talks about her, since clearly, neither Dad nor I can handle it. She talks about how loving Mom was, her love of the piano and her family, how strong she was, how no one could keep it together quite like Moira O’Shea could. She’s right, of course. My father is a lot of things—a criminal, a killer, calculating, tough, brave, smart—but she was his rock. She carried some of his strength. His burdens were hers. He depended on her, was fiercely loyal to her.

He loved her.

I’m still trying to figure out if he loves me.

When the service is finally over, we walk out of the church, Rory and Tiernan still with me.

Everyone approaches me, hugging and kissing me and telling me they’re sorry for my loss. Every set of eyes darts around the church stairs, where I’m stuck waiting for this deluge to end, and I know they’re all looking for my father. Where is the great Rian O’Shea after his wife died and when his son is alone?

But then, I’ll never be truly alone, will I? Not as long as I have Rory and Tiernan.

My skin starts feeling itchy, my heart beating too fast. My chest gets tight, like there’s a fist around my lungs, cutting off my airflow. I need to get the fuck out of here, need away from all these people before I explode.

When the next person approaches me—an unfamiliar woman with a sweet smile—Tiernan speaks before I have the chance. “Leave him the fuck alone,” he spits out.

She freezes, mouth hanging open like a dying fish.

Rory grabs my arm. “Get out of the way,” he says to everyone in our path as he drags me down the stairs and away from there.

Because they know I need it. They can read me as well as I can read them.

Fia calls after us, but we don’t stop, just keep going down the block, decked out in our best suits. We head straight for one of the waiting cars that’s bringing us back to Tiernan’s house, where the reception is being held. Mom always loved big events, loved parties, and especially hosting. She would play the piano at most of them, and she taught me how to play. It’s one of the things I’ll miss the most—playing the piano with her.

The driver leans against the vehicle, pushing off when he sees us and immediately opening the door. The three of us get in, and he heads around to the driver’s seat. “Should I wait for—”

“Drive the fucking car,” Tiernan interrupts.

“Yes, sir.” The man is triple our age, but he won’t deny Tiernan anything. At thirteen, he’s one of the most powerful people in Massachusetts, all because of who his father is. Because Sloan is the boss of our organization, and no one fucks with him, which means no one fucks with us.

The driver raises the divider between the front seats and the back, giving us privacy.

“I’m sorry,” I tell Tiernan because I’m sure Sloan will be pissed about this. It’s all about appearances with him, and Tiernan walking away with me… To Sloan, it makes me weak, and he’ll be angry with Tiernan for being a part of it.
Dean
I’ve been stalking Tiernan O’Shea online for years.

After Sloan O’Shea killed my dad, my mom and I spent years in hiding, moving from state to state, changing our names, never drawing attention to ourselves, hoping to never be found.

I’ve fed off nothing but vengeance ever since.

Tiernan O’Shea is exactly like his father—arrogant, rich, ruthless.

The plan is Get accepted to Ashford U. Get close to Tiernan. Get him to trust me. And then, when he brings me home to his father, I’ll take my revenge on Sloan O’Shea.

What I don’t expect is discovering the secret side of Tiernan, the parts he doesn’t show the rest of the world. He’s as beautiful as he is brutal—deadly, yes, but he’s also the kind of man who would do anything for those he loves. We’re alike in ways I never imagined. And when he touches me, kisses me…it makes me feel like I matter.

I’ve spent my whole life hoping to even the score, but now my revenge will be bittersweet because it’ll make me lose the only man I’ve ever loved.

Content Bittersweet Revenge contains violence, darker themes, and morally gray characters with no redemption arc. This is still a Riley Hart romance though, so you can expect a happily ever after for our guys

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Name Pronunciation

Cillian—“Kill-ee-an”
Riordan—“Reer-don”

PROLOGUE

Dean

Four years old

I’m half asleep when I’m jerked out of bed, making my heart jump.

“Riordan. Be quiet. Come with Mommy. Hurry.”

Are we playing a game? Mommy has never woken me in the middle of the night before, and definitely not to play. I usually get in trouble if I get out of bed when I’m supposed to be in bed.

I wrap my arms around her neck, too tired to focus, too tired to do anything other than snuggle into her and try to sleep.

“Get down here, Audrey. Quick!” Daddy’s voice sounds funny, tense. Like he has to get the words out super fast.

My heart beats harder, fear beginning to clear the fog in my head. “Mommy?”

She puts her hand on the back of my head, lifting me higher against her. I wrap my legs around her waist. “Shh. It’s fine.” She kisses my forehead. “Everything is going to be fine.” She hurries down the stairs, then into the living room.

“Come on.” Daddy pulls us toward the hidden door in the bookcase. He always says it’s a secret. We’re not allowed to tell anyone about it, not even family. Just me, Mommy, and Daddy. He says it’s to keep us safe, but why would he need to keep us safe from the people we love?

“Daddy?” I ask, pulling my face out of Mommy’s neck. She smells like strawberries, the scent fading when I’m not as close.

“It’s okay, big guy. I need you to do me a favor. I need you to be real quiet and not say a word. Can you do that for me?”

I nod, my floppy blond hair in my eyes. It’s the same color as Mommy’s, not dark like Daddy’s.

“That’s my big boy. I also need you to do one more thing for me…I need you to take care of your mom for me. You always protect her, and you always take care of her. That’s your most important job.”

I smile. I love it when he gives me something to do. I know he’s super important, and it makes me feel important too. “I’ll do it! I’ll take care of her!” I say excitedly, but then ask, “Where will you be?” Is he going on a trip? To work with Uncle Sloan? He’s not really my uncle, but Daddy says we’re a family. We’re all family. Part of the O’Sheas.

“Right here,” he says, his smile not looking like it normally does. “I’ll always be with you.”

“Liam.” Mommy’s voice cracks on his name, her body shaking, which makes mine shake too.

“I’ll be fine. Everything will be fine. Just a precaution, all right?”

She nods, just as we hear the sound of a car door closing outside. “Fuck.” Daddy kisses me, then her. “I love you both. So much. I’ll always love you. You’re the most important thing in this world to me.” He looks at me, his eyes wet. Is he crying? I didn’t know dads could cry. I’ve never seen mine do it before. “I’m prouder of you than anything I’ve ever done. Now go.”

Mommy runs to the bookshelf and clicks the button so the door opens. Quickly, we rush inside, both of us watching Daddy, like something really bad is happening.

A second later, we’re surrounded by darkness.

“Mommy?”

“Shh. You can’t talk. Let’s play a game. If you can be really, really quiet until Mommy says you can speak again, we’ll get ice cream and video games.”

I smile. “Vanilla.”

She kisses my cheek. “Yes, sweet boy.”

Vanilla is my favorite.

We sit down, and she pulls me close, her arm around me.

“Why are we in here?” I ask.

“We’re playing a game, remember?”

A tear lands on my cheek. If this is a game, why is Mommy crying?

Muffled sounds come from the other side of the wall, voices getting louder and louder. Mommy’s shaking gets harder too.

I’m scared now, though I don’t understand what’s going on. Why are we hiding? Are bad guys here? Daddy says we always have to watch for bad guys. It’s what the family does. But if they’re here, why didn’t Daddy call Uncle Sloan? Uncle Sloan is the boss. Everyone listens to him. He would help.

Mommy leans forward, flicking something open, and then we can see through a small crack in the shelf. We’re low to the ground, so I don’t see faces, but I recognize Daddy’s sleep pants.

“You fucked up, Liam.”

Oh…Uncle Sloan is here. There’s a sharp bite to his voice. I don’t like it when he’s angry. He gets really scary.

“Where’s Rian?” Daddy asks.

“Think he’s going to save you?” Uncle Sloan snaps.

My eyes fill with tears, my stomach twists. Something is very wrong. If there’s one thing we never want to do, it’s make Uncle Sloan mad.

“Where are they?” Uncle Sloan asks.

“Gone. You think I’m stupid enough not to send Audrey and Riordan away?”

Why would Uncle Sloan think he’s stupid? And we’re here, right here, hiding.
