Have you ever wondered: if soulmates were meant to be together for eternity, then why do they have to search for each other over and over?

Reaper didn’t think it was possible to be deceived by anything, or anyone, after the hell he had gone through. Ginny had proven him wrong. Not only wasn’t she the woman he believed her to be, but she had also sacrificed herself to pay for his crimes. The only part of finding out who Ginny was that didn’t surprise him was that she was a thief. He already knew that—she had been stealing bits and pieces of his soul since he’d met her. And not only had Ginny wrecked the peace he had promised himself, but she also turned his life in a tailspin as he fought to keep her safe from an enemy from her past.

Ginny didn’t think it was possible to love Gavin more than she already did. He proved her wrong. The only problem was … who was going to protect her from Reaper? Every part of her being loved Gavin, yet it was Reaper who was turning her life in a tailspin. Determined to claim her soul while refusing to relinquish his, Ginny found herself engaged in a battle of wills that she was willing to fight to win until death.
The battle between soulmates is never a pretty thing. In battles, there are always winners and losers. Ginny and Reaper are going to have to decide if the price of winning the battle is worth the cost or lose the ultimate prize—eternity.
Sightlessly staring at the grey clouds floating below, she replayed the image of Gavin walking toward the waiting car that would take him to Taylor.

In her bedroom upstairs, she had heard the rumble of his voice as he’d talked on his cell phone. She’d dressed quickly and had gone downstairs to start breakfast to hear Gavin ending his phone call the moment she entered the kitchen. The sound of him starting the shower had her slapping several slices of bacon onto the sizzling skillet.

Blinking back tears of fright from what she had gotten herself into, compounded with her fear of Gavin’s reaction to the story she was determined to discuss with him, had her hands shaking. She knew she should have told him about her past the previous night, before her brothers arrived back home, but the precious moments with him had gone too quickly.

She promised herself as she flipped the bacon that as soon Gavin got out of the shower, she would tell him her history. However when the sound of the shower stopped, she revised her plan, deciding to wait to tell him anything until after he told her about Taylor being at the clubhouse. The time would also allow her the opportunity to settle the mounting trepidations as the minutes ticked by.

“Where’s all the jelly I saw sitting on the counter yesterday?”

Ginny looked up from the frying pan. “I gave it to Viper. Silas is going to bring more from storage when he comes back this afternoon. There’s some grape jelly in the refrigerator.”

“It’s store bought. You took all those jars to the storage building? Why didn’t you leave one here?”

“Actually, two were meant for here, but when I asked Viper to take a couple to Lily, he asked if he could to take another couple for the club.”

“You gave them my jelly?”

Ginny’s brows rose. Gavin was making no effort to hide his irritation. “Technically, those jars are mine. I don’t understand what the big deal is. I have ten more jars in—”

“The problem is I don’t want Shade eating your jelly. It’s mine.”

Ginny watched as he plopped down on his chair at the table and then stared sullenly at the plain toast.

Ginny placed a plate of bacon in front of him. “You could make yourself a bacon sandwich,” she suggested, trying to hide her amusement at his jealousy. She wondered if it was because she made the jelly or if it was an ongoing rivalry between Gavin and Shade.

“You made some to send to Shade.”

Rolling her eyes at him, she turned around, but then found herself being pulled down onto his lap.

“I’m sorry.”

Ginny could tell he didn’t mean his apology, so she wound her arms around his neck and called his bluff. “You don’t look sorry.”

“I’m not.”

“Didn’t your mother teach you to share?”

“All the women in the club cater to Shade.”

Ginny frowned. “When I worked there, I didn’t see anyone catering to him.”

“I’m not talking about the wives.”

“Oh … I see. The women who live there?” Ginny never paid any attention to the men in the club, so she couldn’t say if the women had or hadn’t.

“Yes.”

Goosebumps rose on her skin when Gavin began tracing imaginary circles on her arm with his thumb.

“Don’t give any more to him. Please?”

When he touched her like that, she was willing to jump off a cliff if he asked—though even under extreme torture she’d refuse to admit it … but God knew she would.

“I won’t make him any more jelly. Satisfied?”

Agreeing so easily to his request, she saw the suspicion in his eyes. What could she say? She had bigger fish to fry than dealing with Gavin’s ridiculous jealousy over Shade.

“What are your plans for the day?” Unable to resist taking the opportunity to touch him as well, Ginny carefully gauged his reaction as she waited for him to tell her that Taylor was at the club. She promised herself she wouldn’t react to the mention of Taylor’s name on his lips.

“I’m going to the clubhouse to have a talk with the brothers. They want to return a few of the gifts I gave them.”

As Gavin spoke, Ginny realized he wasn’t going to admit his ex-fiancée was at the club.

“I bet,” she said with a heavy heart. “That’s one gift I’m glad I wasn’t on the receiving end of.”

He lifted her off slightly, then slid a small box out of his pocket and held it out for her to take. Ginny stared at the box, as two separate fears cut her to the quick. Was Gavin still contemplating taking his life, or was this a good-bye gift before he reunited with Taylor?

Seeing the reaction she was unable to hide, despite for her best efforts, Gavin shook his head at her. “This gift is not like the ones I bought for the brothers. I bought this because … I know the bracelet means a lot to you, and I wanted you to have a piece of me, and because I was missing you.”
Have you ever wondered how soulmates fall in love after they meet?
One touch was all it took to pierce through the hatred, the revenge, the payback that kept Reaper’s sanity in check. Unable to bear to be touched, Ginny breezed through his safeguards, stirring the flames of desire and trying to make him believe love was possible again, while his tortured soul just wanted to find the peace he had promised himself once all his enemies were there to keep him company in hell.
One look was all it took for Ginny to recognize her soulmate. Now she was determined to show him that love, mercy, and forgiveness would bring the light back into his life. Her warrior was no longer fighting alone to battle his nightmares, and this Kentucky woman wasn’t afraid of stealing his heart and making it hers.
One love that would have to be strong enough to overcome Reaper’s biggest enemy—himself. Having lost faith in love, The Last Riders, and himself, it was only when Ginny committed a desperate selfless act of love that Reaper realized that, to save her, he was going to have to put his life on the line again. This time if he lost, not only would he lose Ginny, but the Last Riders forever.
How was he supposed to know his wrath could cost him everything?
Brushing past Shade, he started for the steps, only managing to get one foot down before Shade called out to him in a mocking voice.

“Where are you going? You just going to leave your bike in parts?”

“I forgot my water bottle in the club. I’ll finish it later.” Disconcerted by Ginny, he could only think of that lame excuse.

Hurrying up the steps past Train, he needed to be inside the club before Ginny exited the factory with Rider. She had rattled his brain and emotions the day before when he heard her singing, and being so close just now put him into the same funky headspace she sent him into yesterday.

Taking the steps two at a time, he reached the porch in record time. Moon, who was watching the door, took one look at his face and opened the door immediately.

Walking through the empty club room, he made his way into the kitchen, bypassing the crowd waiting for breakfast, and headed to the fridge for a bottled water. He’d drank down half the bottle when he saw everyone in the room staring at him.

“What?” he snarled.

“Nothing,” Nickel mumbled, switching his gaze to the back of Sasha’s head as they waited their turns to fill their plates.

Deciding to eat before he finished working on his motorcycle, he got in line behind Nickel, telling himself he wasn’t eating just because Ginny could still be in the parking lot. He remained rigid in his spot as Shade and Train came in through the door to stand behind him. At least the brothers were smart enough not to say anything to him as they waited for Nickel to fill his plate.

“Ginny came at the perfect time. Rider’s ass is always first in line, and he never leaves us any bacon.”

Reaper didn’t give a fuck if Train was talking to him or Shade. He didn’t respond, focusing on taking a plate and placing a mound of scrambled eggs on it. “You can have the bacon. I want the waffles. Jewell uses the recipe that Ginny made when she worked for us.” Shade moved from behind him to his side to take a plate.

Taking his fork, Reaper stabbed the two remaining waffles, placing them next to his eggs.

“At least you won’t have to work out in the gym for an hour to work them off,” Train consoled a Shade. Reaper glanced at him out of the corner of his eye; the brother didn’t look upset at having the waffles stolen from him.

“I’ll eat the toast. The jar of jelly that Ginny brought in as gifts is still full ...,” Shade began.

Going farther down the line, Reaper picked up the jar of jelly, placing it in the crook of his arm to carry it into the dining room where he sat at the small table farthest away from everyone. He then concentrated on eating and not on the woman who touched him and stared at him as if her heart were in her eyes.

Lifting a forkful of eggs to his mouth, his hand was shaking so badly the eggs slipped off.

When he saw Train and Shade taking a seat at table close by, Reaper knew they weren’t done trying to get under his guard.

As Shade watched him over the cup of his coffee, Reaper opened the jar of preserves, slathering the waffles with it, before closing the jar tightly. He really didn’t want the sugary fruit for breakfast; he just didn’t want Shade to have it. He wasn’t stupid. The brothers were trying to get a rise out of him about his reaction to their former housekeeper, and they were about to get it if they didn’t watch their steps. He was spoiling for a fight, needing to shake off the myriad of feelings the woman was bringing to life.

He could deal with rage, hatred, and revenge. What he couldn’t deal with was the stirring of desire that freaked him the fuck out.

He was using his fork to cut the waffle when he saw Shade start to get up from the table, his narrowed gaze on the jam. As he braced for the fight he had been trying to provoke, Train placed a hand on Shade’s shoulder, stopping him with a muttered aside that Reaper couldn’t hear.

Shrugging, Shade picked up his dry toast and started eating as his wife and children came in the dining room and took a seat at the table. When her violet gaze landed on the jar on his table, Reaper inwardly groaned.

Rising from the table, Lily approached him, innocently unaware that she just stopped the burgeoning fight between him and Shade. “Excuse me, do you mind if I take the jelly? John finished the one at our house, and I’m trying to get him to eat before he has to go to school.”
Have you ever wondered what happens to two souls destined for each other before they even meet? Well, this is it…
Gavin had believed himself untouchable. There wasn’t an inch of his body that hadn’t been taught to eliminate any threat, both to himself and others, as a Navy SEAL. Not only had he been trained to be a warrior, but a strategist who could accomplish any mission that he was given…
Until the day he was blindsided by a brother with his own agenda and was forced to accept that everything he had believed in had been an illusion.
An illusion that he was capable of love. An illusion of the woman who had kept him sane during his darkest days. An illusion that The Last Riders would always have his back.
Now he was being forced to accept the man they had created. A man who didn’t care about anything or anyone, living a life without reason, joy, or peace. A soul so broken that it couldn’t be fixed, searching for the one reason to keep himself breathing.
How was he supposed to know it was a song?

“Have you decided who to ask to the bonfire tonight?”

At his best friend’s question, Gavin didn’t misstep as he continued to jog. “Not yet. Any ideas?”

“A few, but none that you would want to ask.”

Gavin laughed at Tony’s sarcasm, not taking it seriously. The two of them being attracted to different types of girls worked to both their advantages. Tony liked slim and easy, while Gavin was attracted to girls of various sizes and who challenged him. He was equally attracted to girls who put out as much as any red-blooded sixteen-year-old boy, yet he found himself enjoying the more experienced girls who were smart enough to avoid every Tom, Dick, and Tony.

“I was thinking of asking Lacey.”

Gavin stopped jogging when Tony started laughing.

His friend turned around when he saw Gavin wasn’t next to him. “What?” he yelled out, walking back to him.

“What makes you think Lacey won’t go out with me?”

“Other than, she’s out of your league.” Snorting out a puff of air, Tony started laughing again. “She’s been going out with Devan since freshman year, and she makes fun of you riding Loker’s old bike to school.”

“It’s a classic.”

“It’s shit.”

“I’m working on it.”

“You’d be better off getting a part-time job to buy a car. There’s a reason girls like a guy with a car. It’s called a back seat.”

“Who needs a back seat?” Gavin waved his hand at the miles of beach ahead of them. “I have a blanket in my saddlebag.”

“Dude, chicks hate fucking on the beach all the time. Once or twice is fun, but that fucking sand is a pain in the ass. It gets everywhere.”

Gavin shrugged, unconcerned. “They get tired of it, then we can go to my house. Ton is cool with me having sleepovers.”

“Most girls don’t want to make out with a parent in the house.”

“I haven’t had a problem with it. Most of them like him. They think my dad’s cool.”

Tony’s shoulders slumped. “He is. My parents are lame as hell. My dad would have a heart attack if I tried to sneak a girl into my room, and you don’t even need to sneak them inside. Ton lets you do anything you want.”

“Yeah right. I wish. Ton can be a hard-ass when it comes to schoolwork, drinking, and being out after curfew. He’d just rather me be home at night than out on my bike.”

“I’d rather put up with that shit than having to fit in my back seat every time I want to get laid.”

Gavin grinned, turning on his heels to start jogging again; Tony caught up alongside him.

Hell, he knew he had it made. He had dreaded Ton retiring from the military, used to it being just him and Loker since he was twelve years old. Their mother had woken up one day and decided out of the blue that she was done waiting for Ton to retire and having the responsibility of two sons. To give her credit, she waited until Loker was seventeen and about to graduate before leaving. Ton had almost resigned his commission before Loker told him that he would take care of Gavin until his dad finished his tour. Three years later, Ton returned home and Loker had left the next day to fulfill his own dreams of being in the Navy.

The last year had been hard adjusting to Ton back full-time instead of being in the background as he had been most of his life. To complicate the transition, he missed Loker. His older brother had been more of a father to him than Ton. They had been close before his mother left and had grown closer after being left on their own.

When he was younger, he had hero-worshiped Loker. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t do. All his friends were jealous Loker was his brother. Girls were fascinated with him, and even the teachers admired Loker and automatically liked Gavin just for being related to him. Loker had the cool friends and didn’t take shit from anyone. The bullies and thugs learned to give Loker a wide berth. He had earned a reputation in school and throughout town that if push came to shove, he wouldn’t run from a fight.

His brother was only five years older than him, but always had the maturity of someone older. While it benefited Gavin that Loker had accepted responsibility for him until Ton retired, it had its disadvantages. In some ways he was a harder taskmaster than his father. Loker had been overprotective to a fault sometimes. The two months before he left had been spent with the two of them butting heads. Even now when he called, Loker gave him hell if Ton told him that Gavin broke one of his rules. Gavin just wanted them to go back to being brothers like they had been before his mother left and to leave the parenting to Ton—now that he was home.
