Two neighbors, one driveway, and a ride neither expect to happen.

Dean “Raff” O’Neal is the Vice President of the Salemburg Hellions. His life is his cut. Brothers before everything, especially broads. Single, loving to mingle, he lives life one ride to the next.

A beautiful woman with an adorable kid moves in next door, changing his playboy ways.

Josie Schneider is tired. She is barely holding on after giving up everything to move once again. As a single mom, she wants a quiet life for her and her son.

Soon enough her ex finds her again, refusing to give her peace. Raff won’t hesitate to do anything necessary to keep Josie and her son safe, even if it means claiming her as his own to protect them.

Their ride is driven by need and accelerated by want. This time it’s the Salemburg Hellions on a ride out for love

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Prologue

Josie

The mid-day sunshine reflects across the lake in front of me.

“Breathe,” Jackie, my older sister reminds.

My dress fits like a glove. Full length, mermaid with lace sleeves matching the pattern of my cathedral veil. I inhale as my sister adjusts the thin material, spreading it out across the grass as the photographer snaps away.

Today is the day I commit to my high school sweetheart, Jonah. How we got here still seems like a dream. From that first dance in ninth grade to now, a month after my graduation getting married with our family around.

Jonah is a year older than me. Everyone said it wouldn’t last once he left. I wanted to laugh then and even more so now. Tell me again how it couldn’t work. Because here we are.

Immediately after his graduation, he went to BCT- Basic Combat Training, or boot camp for the Army. He went on to his advanced training before finding his first duty station in Fort Liberty, North Carolina. I’ve never left Arkansas, but here Jonah is seeing all kinds of places. All because he made a decision at seventeen. In order to join, he had to have his mom sign off on it or wait until his eighteenth birthday. Waiting has never been Jonah’s strength, so his mom signed and off he went.

He lives in his dorm or barracks, basically his crash pad. It isn’t the best place. Jonah is an only child. He hasn’t had to share a room ever, most especially one this size. Close quarters force him to get to know his roommate in ways I know he would prefer not to. He doesn’t mind his bunk mate generally speaking; however, the other gentleman is a slob.

Jonah is constantly picking up after him and doing the right things for the inspections they get. Who knew the military is so particular on how their soldiers keep their quarters? If we get married, that takes him out of bachelors’ quarters.

Honestly, I don’t understand how the military can say someone can’t live on their own unless they are married. Jonah is an adult. Why does the Army get to tell him who he lives with and the conditions he will live in? To me, he can go to war and risk his life, but he doesn’t get a say in where he lives as a single male … someone make it make sense to me. It doesn’t bother Jonah. He constantly reminds me he signed up for this. He is the property of the United States Army and he’s proud to be a soldier. In the end, as long as Jonah is happy, then I’m happy. The Army makes him his best self even if I don’t understand it all.

For example, I will be his “dependent”, which is a term my independent self struggles with. However, if we continue without me marrying him then I need to stay here to go to college. I can’t afford to go to school and pay for my own place to stay near him in North Carolina. It also means my residency status will make me have to pay out of state tuition until I’ve been a North Carolina resident long enough. As a military dependent my life in Arkansas isn’t held against me. That isn’t the only factor in our decision to get married now. We have been doing this long-distance relationship for a year, and it’s not been easy. I miss him. While I could live in my own place there near him, it makes me nervous. More than anything, I don’t like the idea of living in a strange town without him being there too. He doesn’t have a high enough rank to live out in town without a dependent. That is how he keeps explaining it to me.

I don’t exactly understand rank other than it matters to him. Somehow his rank gives him more freedoms as he works his way up. All of this is foreign to me. My dad did not serve in the military. In fact, he’s been the bread man my whole life, distributing loaves of bread and boxes of snacks to the grocery stores in our area.

We could wait. I could stay here and go to school while Jonah focuses on his career. Except, I don’t want to spend four more years apart from Jonah. It’s not like we haven’t wanted to be married one day. We have talked about it since forever it seems. This last year apart was hard enough, I don’t want to spend another year like this. When Jonah proposed on his weekend liberty after graduating boot camp, it gave us a new drive to stick it out even though the distance is hard. Immediately, I said yes, and I knew this is the life for us. Wherever he goes, I want to be by his side.
Two people, one night, and a ride full of chaos, adventure, and steam.

The attraction is undeniable, the desire indescribable, and a connection that is unbreakable.
Dixon “Miles” Hardison is the Treasurer of the Salemburg Hellions MC. His life is his club. Brothers before everything, especially broads. Single in a small town, he lives his life from one ride to the next without a care.
A run goes wrong leaving him injured. A stop for help turns into more. Sparks fly when she turns up in Salemburg six months later.
All drive and no off button, Danae Dunne is living her life dedicated to family and work. Working hard and taking care of everyone around her, she’s distracted the night he takes her.
Miles doesn’t know how to react when the woman he kidnaps to stitch him up isn’t even bothered by the ordeal. He leaves her never giving it another thought until she turns up at a brother’s house leaving him unable to resist the pull.

Their ride fueled in determination and survival. This time it’s the Salemburg Hellions on a ride out for love.

*This is a full length romantic suspense novel in the Hellions Motorcycle Club world. This is a spin-off series so you do not need to read the other Hellions MC books first. Each book in all Hellions MC novels is an interconnected stand alone novel with a happily ever after. Paperback page count is 336 pages. This is not an exact depiction of life in a motorcycle club, but rather a work of fiction meant to entertain

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Prologue

Country Boy’s office door sticks like it’s got opinions. I shoulder it open anyway, because I’m not in the habit of asking wood for permission to enter. The small room was maybe a kid’s bedroom once upon a time that was transitioned into an office when the place was turned into a bar. The common area of the clubhouse is loud behind me—pool balls cracking, someone laughing too hard, the low thrum of bikes outside like a heartbeat—but in here, behind this door, it’s quieter. He keeps it that way which is why the door sticking doesn’t bother him. Keeps the noise out so he can hear his own thoughts, at least that’s what he says.

Country Boy looks up from behind the desk, jaw already set like he’s been expecting a problem. “Say it,” he tells me.

I shut the door and lean back against it, arms crossing over my chest. Ink covering down both arms in full sleeves, disappearing under my shirt. Never hidden, though, is the art over the tops of my hands, I won’t ever hide who I am. People see the tattoos first. They judge without even knowing a person.

My attitude. Let them.

Underestimate me. Go ahead.

“I’ve got a meet to take,” I explain. “Bella Vista, Arkansas. Saint’s Outlaws.”

The air shifts. Country Boy’s eyes narrow. “Arkansas.”

“Yeah.”

He pushes up from his chair slow, like he’s giving himself time not to explode. Country Boy’s not the kind of president who yells to hear himself. When he’s mad, the whole room feels it anyway. Like pressure building before a storm. It’s an air about him. And his problem isn’t about Saint’s Outlaws, Wrath, or any ally club.

It’s with me. Because he knows what I want and I’m pretty sure he’s going to deny my request.

“You don’t ride out alone,” he states. Because my need to escape feeling tied down absolutely drives the man insane. I have learned to stop taking off without a head’s up because he takes brotherhood seriously. Me leaving without a word crawls under his skin to no end.

“I’m not planning to.”

Country Boy’s gaze flicks to the spot, the reminder. The mark, a small one under my left ear where the scar never quite fades. Like he’s tallying old damage. Like he’s weighing the cost of me leaving and the cost of me staying. I live with the visible reminder of what happened and what it almost cost me every day.

“Every time you get an idea,” he mutters, “it comes with a divide in the highway and a choose your path question.”

I shrug. “Highways don’t lie. People do. Bad choices lead to lessons learned. We all manage to get back on track eventually.”

His mouth tightens. “Why’s this meet on your shoulders?”

“Because it’s money.” I tap two fingers against my chest to my officer’s patch. “And because Wrath asked for me. Cleared it with Tripp before he even dialed my number.”

That name lands heavy. Talon “Tripp” Crews is the Haywood’s Landing Hellions President and our lead chapter of all of the Hellions in the Carolina’s. He has the power to make Country Boy stand down if he was to try to stop me from taking the meet.

Wrath runs with the Saints—an ally club with reach and reputation, not the kind you ignore if you want to keep business moving smooth. We’ve worked with them before. Not often, but enough to know what to expect. Saints don’t play games. Saints don’t waste time. And out of all the Hellions chapters he prefers to work with Salemburg.

Country Boy drags a hand over his beard, eyes hard. “I don’t like it.”

“That’s not new,” I state the obvious.

He points at me, warning in the gesture. “I mean I don’t like it because you like riding alone. I need to know you got a plan and it isn’t one where you have no man at your back. You get that nomad itch and you start thinking you’re untouchable.”

I push off the door and step closer. “I don’t think I’m untouchable.”

“Could’ve fooled me.” He studies me, “you got a plan. I see it in your eyes Miles. And that I don’t like.”

I run my hand through my hair. Damn fucker always reads people quick. “Smoke will be with me for most of the ride,” I give him the truth. “We split in Tennessee. He heads back after the state line and I keep going. Less attention that way.”

Country Boy’s stare stays locked on mine. He’s reading me, like he always does—trying to find the angle I’m not saying out loud.

“You plan to be in and out?” he asks.

“Meet. Verify terms, grab a key to the drop facility. Confirm transport details, times and shit. Collect half. Leave,” I state. “I’m not staying for drinks or a welcome party.”

Country Boy exhales slow, like he’s swallowing down whatever instincts are clawing at him. “You always were built wrong,” he says finally. “Like you came out already halfway gone. I know you got every brother’s back without fail, but damn you can’t stay in one place longer than two weeks without finding a way to hit the pavement.”
Unlikely lovers, these two can't walk away even when they should.
Tommy Boy
My life is wild and free. As the youngest son to Frank "Tank" Oleander, I've always known my life to be in the Hellions MC.
I am Thomas "Tommy Boy" Oleander.
I'm loyal to a fault. Even if it kills me inside.

Jamison
I am damaged goods.
My life is chasing one high to the next.
I am Jamison Violet Rivera.
Loving him is the only thing I've ever gotten right. Too bad, I don't know how to hold onto anything good.

Sometimes love simply isn't enough. Boundaries and loyalty will be tested at every turn on this ride.

Tommy Boy
She's the most beautiful woman I've ever laid eyes on. More than a woman, she's stronger than anyone I've ever known.
She's got me twisted up inside because I can't read her.
Then she tells me, the two of us will soon be three. Every insecurity I've ever had rears its ugly head. She deserves better than I can give. Love can be brutal sometimes.

*Each book in the Hellions Ride On Series is a full-length standalone novel (except Beauty in It which is a novella). This is not meant to be an exact depiction of life in a motorcycle club, but rather a work of fiction meant to entertain. Brutal for It is 320 pages in paperback format

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Prologue

Before Breathe for It (Book 3)

The blonde bombshell in front of me—with a smile that knocks most men flat on their asses—is getting nowhere with me. Not today, not about this. No way, no how.

“Come on, Tommy,” she practically pouts, lips glossy, eyes flashing like she’s never been told no in her whole damn life. Well, most of the time, she isn’t denied anything so she isn’t exactly used to the word no. But this, I’m not the first to tell her no, and I won’t be the last.

“Dia, don’t, dollface.” I lift my hands in surrender, but my voice stays hard, steady. “I love you. You know I do. I’d do anything for you—hell, kill for you, babe. But if I put you on my bike for this ride, every brother will come down on me. And worse than that? It’ll be your momma who beats my ass black and blue.”

Her pout twists to fire. “This is bullshit,” she mutters, stomping off, boots smacking the pavement with all the rage she can pack into her five-feet-who-knows-the-inches frame.

Dia Crews is a firecracker and always has been. One day, she’s gonna break some poor bastard’s heart into a thousand pieces, and maybe she’ll smile while she does it. She’s beautiful clear down to her soul. A woman with a body sculpted like temptation itself and a spirit that brightens even the darkest Hellions day. Everyone loves Dia Crews.

And no one—no one—wants to see her sad. Or mad. Or anything but the sunshine she usually is, bottled up and spilling out over anyone lucky enough to get close. Dia gets what Dia wants. As she should.

Except today.

Because this ride—The Tail of the Dragon—it’s not about her. It’s not about anything but the road and the men I ride it with. This patch run is about brotherhood, patience, focus, and determination. It’s about staying the course when every damn curve is trying to throw you off. It’s about proving I’m not just some prospect, not just Tank Oleander’s son, not just another name on a roster.

Today, I get my ride.

Today, I earn my final rocker.

The Tail of the Dragon—that twisted, vicious stretch of road curling through the mountains—has claimed men better than me. It’s a rite of passage in the Hellions Motorcycle Club, a ride like no other. Three hundred and eighteen curves in eleven miles.

And today, it’s my trial by fire.

I’ve waited my whole life for this moment. I was born for this shit.

I’m Thomas “Tommy Boy” Oleander, youngest son to Frank “Tank” Oleander and Savannah “Sass” Perchton Oleander. Youngest grandson to Rhett “Danza” Perchton—Hellions Original, one of the men who built this brotherhood with his blood, sweat, and time behind bars.

Prospecting was hell. Long nights, shit work, runs where you didn’t know if you were gonna make it home. But none of that touches the ache in my chest watching Dia stomp off unhappy, arms crossed, shoulders stiff.

She doesn’t get it. She can’t.

Today isn’t for her.

This ride is for me—for the club. This is the day I carve my place in Hellions history.

And one day, when Dia’s got a man of her own it will be on him to take her on this ride, to give her the gift of this. But not today. Not when my patch, my future, my brotherhood is on the line.

The absence of my cut makes me feel naked. Vulnerable. Like I’m just some kid standing around a bunch of lions, waiting to see if they’ll tear me apart or let me walk with them.

The final patch is everything and more.

As a kid, my favorite part of the day was when my dad man came home from the shop. He’d walk in, grease under his nails, sweat on his brow, but always steady. Always strong. He’d sling his cut over the dining room chair like it was a second skin, peeling it off to breathe for the night.

I’d rush over, too small to even fit both arms around the thing, and run my fingers across the patches. Feeling the rough stitching, the weight of it. Like it had its own heartbeat.

That vest isn’t just leather. It is everything.

Danza, being an original and grandfather to four boys, drilled it into us early: every patch is earned. Nothing’s given. Not respect, not colors, not loyalty. You want it, you prove it. Bloodline doesn’t matter, names aren’t shit, but the man you are for your brothers is where it counts.

Later, he told me about the diamond patch—the one-percenters. The men who didn’t just brush the line between outlaw and law-abiding but stomped right over it. The Hellions don’t run drugs anymore, not like the old days. But the transport business? Sometimes cargo’s hot. Sometimes you know, sometimes you don’t. Some brothers wear the diamond because they made that choice and earned it. Others don’t.
Behind every scar lies a story. This ride is beauty found in the broken.
Pretty Boy
Raised under the safety in the Hellions MC, most assume I’m untouchable. In some ways, I am.
Always in the shadows of my brothers, I’m just another one of Frank “Tank” Oleander’s sons.
I earned my cut, my place, and even this ride as the pretty boy with a scar on my face.
I am Kellum “Pretty Boy” Oleandar.
I am the wild card.

Kristen
I had it all. The jet-setting, want for nothing life.
In an instant everything changes.
I am Kristen Hope Mayers.
I know beauty. I know broken. I am both.
A beautiful woman, a scarred man, and one chance encounter brings these two strangers on an intense ride like neither have experienced before

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

One

Pretty Boy

The bass from the stereo playing rattles through the walls of the clubhouse, the same damn playlist that’s been on rotation for years. Does it matter? No, nobody’s here for the music. The place isn’t something to brag about, just an open area with black and white checkered pattern floor, a bar, some pool tables, dart boards, a makeshift stage area that doesn’t get used because of a fight that broke out before my generation. The Hellions’ insignia flag hangs on the wall behind the bar, bold and proud, same as the ink on my back.

This is home.

I’m leaning against the bar with a half-empty bottle of Jack, watching the peace all around me. Brothers loud as hell, women laughing too shrill, and the clack of pool balls echoing from the corner, everything and everyone in motion. I like the noise. Keeps the thoughts out. Keeps me from thinking about shit I got no business dragging back up.

“Damn, you look like you’re ready to put someone in the ground,” Crunch mutters as he passes, slapping my shoulder.

“Maybe I am,” I grunt, tipping the bottle back. Burn feels good going down. Maybe I’ll numb the pain tonight for a change.

He just chuckles, heads off to Jennissey because my older brother can’t handle being apart from his woman.

Not me. I’m not tied down and not about to be. I don’t chase women. Don’t need to. Women come easy when you’ve got a Hellions patch and the kind of reputation that makes them all kinds of curious.

Sure enough, one of them is watching me now. Little brunette, painted lips wrapped around the neck of a longneck. Eyes like she’s already got me undressed. I hold her gaze until she blushes, then crook two fingers.

She comes. They always do.

“What’s your name?” she asks, sliding up close, pressing tits against my arm like I invited her.

“Does it matter?” I let my gaze roam over her body slow, letting her see I’m not hiding what I want. “You here to talk, or you here to fuck?”

She gasps like she’s scandalized, but she doesn’t walk away. Instead she fights the smile trying to break free on her plump lips.

“Not much for foreplay, huh?” she teases.

I smirk, but it ain’t friendly. “Foreplay’s for boyfriends. You lookin’ for one of those, find another man. You lookin’ to get fucked, follow me.”

Her lips part, but she nods, quick, like she’s afraid I’ll change my mind.

That’s better.

I grab the bottle off the bar, take a last swig, then set it down hard. My boots thud against the worn floorboards as I cut through the crowd. I don’t check to see if she’s following, I know she is. The heat of her steps keeps pace with mine until we hit the back hall and exit the compound hangout.

I make my way to one of the duplexes that I tend to use. Roundman set up these things for brothers without family responsibilities to not need to buy a house. Also for when we drink so we don’t ride and when brothers are in from out of town like the annual barbecue. There are multiple ones. They are these duplexes but more like a quad with a shared living room, but closed off bedrooms with individual bathrooms for each. Room smells like cleaner because Tripp makes sure to get them cleaned professionally before any party. That doesn’t mean it’s fancy. No, it’s a basic crash pad. It’s a bed, four walls, and privacy enough. That’s all I need, and for fucking I can make due with less.

I shut the door behind her, flick the lock, and turn slow. She’s fidgeting, twisting her fingers together, all nerves now that it’s just us.

“You change your mind, sweetheart?” I ask, voice low, rough.

She shakes her head too fast. “No. I just,” she hesitates then continues, “you’re intense.”

“Good.” I strip off my cut, laying it across the chair in the corner, then step into her space. My hands cup her hips, dragging her flush against me so she feels exactly what she’s here for. “You want soft, you’re in the wrong damn room. Walk away if you aren’t gonna handle the ride.”

Her breath hitches. Her pupils blow wide. She whispers, “I don’t want soft.”

That’s all I need. My mouth claims hers, not a kiss so much as a possession. She moans into it, arms flying up around my shoulders like she’s trying to hold on. I don’t let her lead, don’t let her set the pace. My tongue pushes past her lips, teeth catching her bottom lip until she whimpers. I like that sound, it encourages the primal part inside me.

I break from her and push her back against the wall. The thud of her shoulders against drywall makes her gasp, but her nails dig into my arms like she wants more. Her body is talking and it’s all good things.
Born to be a Hellion … that’s what I’ve always told myself.
Except the only way for that to happen is to be an ol’ lady.
I live for the ride, the club, the life.
As the daughter to Hellions MC President Talon “Tripp” Crews, no brother will come near me and a normal guy just doesn’t excite me.
I am Dia Nicole Crews
I live a life waiting … always waiting.

A devastation within the club puts her in his care. The pull is too much for either of them to deny.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

PROLOGUE

JUSTIN

I flip down the kickstand and relax into my seat, legs extended out on each side of my Harley-Davidson Dyna Glide Sport. The glowing light of the night club gives a blue hue to the parking lot as the bass inside thumps low. The allure of the night, getting lost in a stranger under the darkness of the club or the evening sky, it used to be a way to let loose after a long week. The life of a punk kid, doing just enough to get by, and letting loose every chance I can without a second thought to anyone else or anything.

That was before, though.

Now, I’m changing.

This place doesn’t call to me like before. My focus is shifted. I’m no longer Justin William Miller, the youngster trying to figure out where I fit in this world. The boy who left a small town to chase the dream of seeing the whole fucking world is long gone. I’m not the Marine whose knee was busted up from shrapnel after an ambush and lost my career. While I can’t exactly say who I am, I know who I’m not anymore. At twenty-three, I’m in this in between space.

Some say go home.

What is there for me, back there?

Newton, North Carolina is nothing more than a dot on a map.

The Marines gave me purpose and an escape. My future was supposed to be traveling the world and serving my country. First time in combat and boom, the shrapnel hit and shattered my knee leaving me with a new one made of screws, metal, and God knows what else. The occasional limp now and scar are the only way for anyone to know. Don’t ask me to carry a ruck sack and do miles because my bum knee can’t do it and that’s what got me the discharge. How many times did I try? How many times did I put that sack on and attempt to put in the work? I don’t remember, I lost count. The way I pushed until my leg literally gave out from under me will always be a defining moment. Willpower doesn’t always win. That day was nothing more than leaving me eating a face full of gravel, grass, and humble pie. Some things can’t be fixed with sheer willpower.

That is how Tripp and the Hellions found me. In a bar down the street drowning myself in pity. As a prospect now, I go where I’m told, do as instructed, and I don’t ask questions. They don’t care if I can carry the weight of another man physically as long as mentally I can keep my mind on the club. I can do this. I can put my brothers before all others including myself. I can follow orders as directed even if it’s not the best job in the club.

Even if it means picking up the President’s underage daughter who has been drinking a little too much with a fake ID. A girl that is too beautiful for this world.

Dia Nicole Crews.

I don’t know her, not really. I know of her, seen her around, from a distance sort of thing. She is BW’s baby sister. Eighteen years old, maybe nineteen now, but there is no way she’s legal to drink. She graduated high school last fucking month. I have no business even looking at her twice, but I’ll be damned if she doesn’t get everyone’s attention, including mine.

The instruction came from Tripp through BW. Pick her up and make sure she is safe at home. I won’t be leaving even if it means staying with her until she’s passed out. Is this job ridiculous? To some probably. But the thing about prospecting is: respect. Following an order, a directive without question is about trusting and respecting a brother. I have to prove myself and this is just another step in that process.

Here I am, leaning against my bike, black hoodie pulled up, doing everything to keep my face neutral as a group of girls stumble out of the club front door. Laughter spills out amongst them, drunken giggles as my eyes lock to hers.

She pauses as if time stops for her too.

She stands in black leather shorts, a red lace body suit, and black leather jacket casually draped over her shoulders, with little half boots on her feet. Her blond hair is wild from dancing. It’s her eyes, though, the curious look as she’s locked to my gaze. She grabs a girl to her right by the arm, saying something before leaving the group making her way directly to me. Her boots click against the pavement before she comes to a stop with just inches between us.

“You’re my ride?” she sort of asks and states at the same time. She smells like vanilla and rum. A fragrance that any man could be drunk on.
They have an agreement, one where emotions are not involved, this is a passion-fueled ride … are you ready?

Little Foot
Living in the shadow of my father and brother, I’m tired.
I love my club, but I’m never going to make it anywhere.
I have an idea to show my father Andy “Shooter” Jenkins and my brother Axel “Double” Crews just how much I can stand out.
I am Andrew “Little Foot” Jenkins.
I’ve hired a woman to pretend to be my woman all to drive them mad.
I’m wild, bold, and brazen behind my cut.

Cambria
I’m drowning in debt.
Momma always said I might be down, but don’t count me out. It’s time to put my good looks to use.
I am Cambria Tracy.
I agree to be his ol’ lady and break all the rules as long as he pays my way.

Their ride begins on an unpaved road. They bring trouble right to the front door. Only the Hellions Motorcycle Club can come together to save them. In the midst of chaos, suddenly they find themselves unable to resist each other, the rules of the game they are playing changes.

Love is a funny thing and neither of them are ready for this ride

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

PROLOGUE

DREW

Brazen being It

21 years old

The Tail of the Dragon, Deals Gap, North Carolina.

Deal’s Gap, North Carolina, a significant place for every Hellion. And in twenty-four hours a Hellion I will be. The Tail of the Dragon, Dragon’s Tail, whichever way you want to say it, this is the ride of rides for every brother in the Hellions MC.

There is nothing I want more in this life than to be a Hellion like my dad. Andy “Shooter” Jenkins lives for brotherhood. The former Army green beret lived his life in a brotherhood. He tells us all the Hellions saved him from the haunting in his head. To feel part of something again kept him on the right track. That small step became his life. It’s how he met my mom.

She has a complicated history with the club. She had my older brother, Axel, with Rex. Drexel “Rex” Crews, the Catawba Hellions Chapter President is a wild card. When my mom’s car broke down one night, Rex sent his club brother, Shooter, to pick her up. My dad met my mom, they went through some crazy shit together. The rest is history.

They are all the best of friends now and co-parented Axel like this was how it always was. Rex and Caroline, his wife, are my god-parents for fuck’s sake. Rex and my dad are inseparable and as the VP to the club, I can see where that is necessary.

Tomorrow, I get to join my father, god-father, and older brother in this family legacy of brotherhood. It’s different to be a brother, an elevated level of respect.

A knock on my hotel room door has my attention. Moving to open it, my brother Axel stands on the other side. He steps in the space with a grim look on his face.

“Andrew,” he mutters walking deeper into my room. His arms are crossed over his chest with a grimace on his face. “I need you to know I told Rex not to put you to a vote. You won’t get your rocker tomorrow.”

Rage hits me like a ton of bricks.

I laugh out loud in unbelief, “What the fuck are you talking about?

“I wanted to be the one to tell you myself. I sat at the table and told Rex not to bring you to vote yet. I told Rex I would say no. I would be the holdout.”

I go into overdrive, reacting without thought. Instantly, I ball my fist up and throw and uppercut at him that he moves causing me to miss. Having fought more than once with my brother, I anticipated this and come in with a jab that hits straight to his left eye. He will feel that for a few days for sure.

“What the fuck?” I roar.

“I didn’t want to humiliate you. The rules are the rules. You only get one chance to prospect and patch in. One no means you’re out for life.”

“You what?” I ask in disbelief as the air between us grows thick.

“I did this for you and your future, Drew.”

“Bull fucking shit!” I snap. “You don’t want me to be your equal.”

Axel gives me a huff, “Prospect, watch your disrespect. I’m still a fuckin’ officer. But this isn’t about that shit.” His jaw twitches in the way it does when Axel Crews is pissed off. “You’re twenty-one. You’ve not had a ton of life experience. The things sometimes required of this club, you’re not ready.”

I feel like I’ve been punched in the gut, or maybe the kidney. “You don’t think I’m good enough.”

He doesn’t answer. He looks at me with his crystal clear eyes, the same ones I’ve always wished I had my whole life. The ones that are full of expectations I can never seem to live up to.

“I think,” he calmly states, “you need more time. That’s all. You have fucking potential and you’re a damn genius. But you’re impulsive and a fuckin’ hot head. You think every insult needs a fist and a pound of flesh. Everything is personal. You don’t see the big picture yet. It’s always club first. Brothers above all others.”

“You’re my fucking brother. Spent my whole life in your shadow. I trusted you to have my back.”

“There ya go. It’s not about you, Drew. It’s about the club first. You’ll see one day.”

“Fuck you, Axel.”

He shakes his head. “I was hoping you would be mature and hear me out. The things we have to do sometimes can eat you up inside. I just want you to be ready. I’m your brother first and I want nothing but the best for you.”

“Fuck you, you’re relieved of your duty as my sponsor,” I lock my eyes to his, “and my fuckin’ brother.”

Then without another word, he exits my room leaving me to pick up the pieces of my shattered world.

I don’t sleep. I can’t decide if I need to go home or act like nothing has changed. How bad do I want this?
Two broken people in need of a second chance together find it in this passion-fueled ride.

Busted
I'm not defined by my chair.
My life is my club.
I know what it is to knock on death's door. Yet, I stand firm in the land of the living. I have no time for games and no patience for indecision.
I am Wesson "Busted" Vaughn.
I'm a man on a mission to save her from herself.

Emmalee
I'm absolutely lost.
My entire world is turned upside down. I don't know how to feel, what to think, or who to trust anymore.
I am Emmalee Van Etten.
I have nothing left to give and nothing to lose.

Lightening doesn't strike the same place twice, so they say. When her world crumbles and she can't run anymore, he's her only safe place to fall. They must let go of the past in order to learn to enjoy the ride.

Wesson
I learned a long time ago to take the hand life deals me and make the best of it. Until the day I had to sit back while my brother saved the woman I love. I have never felt restricted even though I live life in a wheelchair... except in that moment when she needed me most.
I have never felt less of a man than the day she walked away. She's shattered me into a million pieces. Now I have to figure out what comes next and how to keep her safe from the danger she doesn't know she's in.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

PROLOGUE

WESSON

The Tail of the Dragon, Deals Gap, North Carolina.

The air in the space is thick today or maybe it’s just the tension in my head. Whatever the case may be, this doesn’t feel like I once expected it to. Maybe it’s one of those great mysteries in life where I’ve built this up so much in mind it will never reach my expectations.

There aren’t as many times now that things are such an ‘in the face’ moment of what my accident cost me. Not like in the beginning.

When I first woke up in the hospital and Boomer told me the extent of my injuries … every single task was raw. It was a constant reminder of all that would never be once again. I fight the natural instinct to dwell even now when I know my realities far too well.

Today though, the differences exist in every second of the passing time.

This isn’t how it is supposed to be.

At all.

While everyone shares in the jubilee of the ride, I find myself longing. If I had my legs, I would be on my bike. I would hug every curve and feel the shit from top to toe. To ride is to live, to breathe, to fucking feel deep, it’s like nothing a person can ever experience again. It’s not an adrenaline rush, it is existing in a way where every inch of the body experiences.

Kick, my brother,Colton(his actual name), he will feel that vibration. He will have every inch of his body and every part of his mind engaged in the ride before him. To be one with his bike and the pavement, Kick will have the full ride.

When we were kids, we dreamed about this day. The day we would have the same cut as our dad, Nathan “Boomer” Vaughn. After everything Boomer and the Hellions gave Colt and me, it’s more than an honor to join the brotherhood. They are family in the ways that count. They are the family we never imagined having. Family isn’t blood. It’s loyalty, trust, and commitment to each other.

This is not at all what I thought today would be.

I will not get the real experience.

Never again.

No invention, no improved technology, nothing can bring my limbs back. There isn’t a single thing anyone can do to give me back what life took from me that day. Everyone says be grateful I’m alive … some days I am and some days I wish the accident was my last day. It’s hard to explain. Unless someone has experienced the struggles I have, I don’t think it’s fair to judge.

Laying in the bed with my eyes staring up to the popcorn ceiling of the run-down hotel, my mind is stuck. This void of in between. What should have been versus what is.

All of this is familiar and different at the same time. This hotel, a place I’ve stayed many times before is the same. Hell, I’ve probably slept in this very room at some point in time. The feeling in the pit of my stomach is very different.

This is a Hellions rite-of-passage. This is the day where I take the ride, I’ve been waiting my entire life for.

Except it’s not at all like I dreamed it would be.

Closing my eyes, I can pretend. Here in this room, alone, I can feel my legs. I am whole once again. No more ghost pains of limbs that are long gone. Right here, right now, I can be the man I was before. If I just shut out the world around me and let myself go back, I can be put back together in my mind.

I still remember. Vividly actually. For whatever reason, my mind refuses to let go of what is no longer my world. More times than I care to admit, I go back to before, reliving the memories of when my legs carried me through every ride.

The machine under me.

The power.

The vibration.

Every twist of the throttle pressing harder, faster, as the pavement glides under me. Sliding my foot under the clutch to click into the next gear, I press on. The tires roll smoothly as my body takes in every sensation. The wind hits my face as I breathe deep. The sun kisses my skin as I inhale the air around me.

This is peace.

All the shit I’ve done, none of it matters. I am man and machine. The wide-open road is a freedom like no other. The lives I have taken in the name of serving my country can’t haunt me. The shit that was my childhood doesn’t hang over my head. Everything goes into a neat little box where my thoughts no longer invade and overtake me. No, on my Harley, it’s just me and the curves in the road. The sun rays shine down on me dancing over my exposed flesh. The heat is a reminder I can feel. So much of my life has to be pushed down. I have to compartmentalize to survive. Emotions have no place in war. The more I twist the throttle, the faster the beast under me goes, and the harder the wind hits my cheeks. It’s a reminder I breathe. I made it out of another mission, another jump I came back from.
Two broken people, one forbidden romance, this is a passion-fueled ride … are you ready?

Karma
Family over everything.
My club.
My son.
I have no time for anything else.
I am Dillon “Karma” Jacoby.
I’m jaded, hard, and determined to give my every emotion to my son.

Maritza
Family is everything.
Even if I feel smothered by my father, Ruben “Ruby” Castillo, I wouldn’t change a thing.
I spend my days helping in the office with my mother and my nights longing for a biker who will never be mine.
I am Maritza Castillo.
I live a life devoted to a club I will never be part of.

When he has no one else to trust with his son, I step up. Except he refuses to see how good we could be together.
I’m ready for the ride, if only he would trust me.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

PROLOGUE

DILLON

Eighteen Years Old

The mall is quiet for a weekend. I’m surprised, but happy. “You sure about this shit, man?” Link asks me frankly, while we blindly stare at the glass display case.

Do I know what I’m doing? Not exactly. I don’t think anyone my age does. We are too young to have everything figured out. I know I love her, and I want this. Am I naïve to think it will work? Yeah. Yet, Link keeps reminding me like I don’t already know it.

I’m eighteen, Link is twenty, we are old enough to get ourselves in trouble, but dumb enough to not truly understand real consequences. Honestly, we probably don’t know shit about shit in life, only there is this part inside of me that says I have half a clue. Would my subconscious lie to me? I’ve never done this before, but it’s what comes next. This is what adults do. I’m an adult now. And there is absolutely nothing I want more in this life than to build a family with the woman I love completely.

Do I have questions? Lots of them, absolutely.

I may not know much right this minute, but I’m willing to try. The one thing I do know without a doubt, it’s time I build my own family. There isn’t a single question about my plans to get that going. Call me naïve, crazy, or even stupid, but I think it’s okay to go forward with what I feel called to do even if I don’t have all the responses ready. Whatever may come, I’ll take it on when I have to.

I smile proudly. “Never been more sure. She’s it for me.”

Link shakes his head. “First taste of pussy doesn’t have to be the last, Dillon. Damn, we’re young. Got a whole life and a ton of women ahead of us. Give her a promise ring or some shit. Don’t have to go this far.”

Playfully, I shove him. I’m not one to kiss and tell, so he has no clue what Anna and I share. “You know this ain’t about sex and shit. It’s just when ya know, ya know. Damn, Link, look at your parents. High school sweethearts and they made it work.”

I am a little irritated at his insinuation, I can’t hide it. Link is a bit of a man-whore. He doesn’t know love. Not the love I have with Anna. I don’t need to have sex to know she’s my ride or die.

Hell, I’ve tasted her pussy, but until she has my last name, there is no taking a test drive. We have agreed. More like, Anna said she’s saving herself, but yeah, I am not going to push. It’s respectable. There is more than sex between us and a lot behind my decision to take our relationship to the next level. None of my reasoning is motivated by physical desires. The way I see it, once we are married, there will be more than enough time for having sex. For this time, I’m going to give her what she needs and not pressure her for sex.

“Dude, you don’t have to leave. Why don’t you stay here, go to college and see how things play out with Anna?” Link’s brother Ven adds, “you know mom and dad aren’t in any hurry for you to move out and neither are we. The Marines will still be there in a year or two.”

He speaks the truth about all of it. No one is asking me to leave. I can’t explain it, there is something inside of me screaming to venture out. Ven is my age and then they have a younger brother Nix who is sixteen. I don’t remember much about life without them. The memories I do have aren’t the best. As much as they accept me as their brother, I know my truth. And it’s laced into the fabric of who I am whether I like it or not, I can’t change my beginnings.

Shaking my head, I don’t know what to say. They have all told me over and over building up to my eighteenth birthday plus the upcoming graduation from high school. Constantly reminding me I belong with them. Like it’s on repeat, “nothing changes, Dillon. We support you. If you want to go to college, we will make it happen, if you want to live here, your room is your room.” Yada, yada, yada. Same shit day in and out. They mean well, all of them. Only, no one can understand what goes on inside my head.

My cousins are close to me like brothers. That’s how we’ve been raised. Truly, I have the best family with my aunt, uncle, and cousins. They took me in and didn’t ever let me feel like I was a burden. Even though I’m sure at times having another mouth to feed, boy to clothe, and young man to tote around from practices to school functions wasn’t easy. I know my being part of their family cost them, financially, emotionally, and of their time. I will always be indebted to my aunt and uncle for not turning me away. They gave me consistency when otherwise I would have been tossed into chaos.
Two people, one night, and a ride full of chaos, adventure, and steam.
The attraction is undeniable, the desire indescribable, and a connection that is unbreakable.
Clay “Country Boy” Faircloth is the President of the Salemburg Hellions MC. His life is his club. Brothers before everything, especially broads. Single in a small town, he lives his life from one ride to the next without a care.
A simple stop at a coffee shop turns his world upside down when he bumps into her.
All spark and spunk, Sara Sweeting is living her best life all on her own. She is little miss independent. Working hard and taking care of everyone around her, she’s in for the ride of her life after a chance encounter with a bearded biker.
She gets trapped in his world when she’s taken by a rival club as leverage. Too bad for them, the one line you don’t cross with the Hellions is involving women. Country Boy will move mountains to bring Sara home safely.
Their ride fueled in desire laced with danger. This time it’s the Salemburg Hellions on a ride out for love.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

PROLOGUE

SARA

“This is beautiful, Sara,” my sister, Carrie states with the widest smile.

Her enthusiasm makes this whole charade worth it. She is into all things beauty and elegance. Like today with the frills, soft textures, and a special touch at every turn, this is one-hundred percent her style. As for me, this is absolutely everything I am not. Carrie is the polar opposite of me. I’m all denim and dirt, while she’s pearls and proper. We balance each other in the best way possible.

I don’t remember a time where we weren’t so absolutely different, yet, still so connected. The saying that ‘no one can know you the way a sister does’ fits us perfectly. She’s my best friend, even if we aren’t going to be at the same concerts or shopping in the same stores at the mall, we are always in touch. I know her every secret and there isn’t anything I don’t share with her.

Carrington Paige Sweeting is my little sister who is set to marry her Prince Charming in a fairytale wedding two months from now. The last year has been an epic level of tulle, flowers, fittings, and photos all in the name of love. From the moment she got engaged, this is all she’s dreamed of. I’m beyond elated for her. Although, I must admit, I never knew there were this many shades of blush.

Seriously, when did pink turn into dusty rose, blush, and dare there be a hint of mauve. Don’t forget the other side of the spectrum, flamingo, taffy, or magenta pink. We don’t want to leave out middle of the road coral either. It’s insanity if anyone cares to have my opinion on the matter. Why can’t pink be pink?

But, I have to be honest, the shades matter. I do know that much. Always get samples, this is what hosting her bridal shower taught me. Before this, pink was pink to me. Now, I’ll never see colors the same again.

Every Disney princess ever created has been adored by Carrie. Maybe it’s birth order, me being the oldest and all, but I’m more of a make my own path even if I fall on my ass person. Carrie is one tough cookie, don’t get me wrong, but she’s always daydreamed about being swept off her feet. Her soon to be mister, Caleb, does that for her. Every freaking day practically. Whatever Carrie wants he’s willing to put in the work to make sure she has it. She has kissed her fair share of frogs to find this prince. He is good to my sister and she’s never been this happy. I’m excited to celebrate their love. This is going to be the most beautiful day in her life and I’m here to celebrate it all, including today’s bridal shower.

Not going to lie, I asked to host the bachelorette party, but Carrie didn’t think plastic penises hanging from the ceiling fan of a hotel room would be much fun. She wants to get dressed up and have pictures with her favorite people instead of drinking and dancing the night away. Her loss, I throw an epic party when it’s just booze, babes, and no work the next day. She asked me to give her the bridal shower of her dreams over any bachelorette shenanigans. Well, this is definitely her dream and not mine. As her older sister, though, I aim to please.

My mother approaches with her cheeks flushed, no doubt from some kind of worry, “Sara, thank you, this is just gorgeous.” I smile all the while I want to laugh and call her out for not trusting me to pull it off.

I love our mother to the ends of the Earth, but she is a bit of a control freak about hosting things. She likes things her way. Don’t get me wrong, she’s very good at putting together anything from a casual dinner, a birthday party, a soiree of any sort, and yes, she is amazing at planning weddings. Which is why my sister is being able to enjoy being the bride without all the stress because our mom has it all under control.

Except this bridal shower. I did my best to not hand it over to her. Sure, she would have gladly taken charge, but this is something special for my sister from me.

Mom didn’t hold back in giving her input all along the way, but I am proud of sticking to my plans this time around. Most parties, events, those things, my mom takes care of everything from beginning to end. This time, I did it having my sister in mind with every detail, maybe that’s why it came pretty easy overall. I’ll never admit it to my mom, but it was actually sometimes fun, the planning, I mean. Can’t have her thinking this can be our thing together because no one can do it like she can.
