A BRAND NEW release in the Going All the Way series!
Mickey “Scars” Lore wasn’t always the hardened, coldhearted man he was today. But the brutality of living life, of love and loss, tended to make a man nothing more than a shell.
Vengeance, violence, and not caring about repercussions was who he was now. And he embraced it.
As president of the Vicious Bastards MC, Scars had committed a lot of heinous acts in his life, all for the ones he called family. His brothers, the members of the MC, and his daughter, Stella, were all he had now. But with Stella grown and living her own life, Scars found that hollowness in him growing tenfold.
It was time for him to leave, to retreat to a cabin in the woods the club owned, to try to find himself again. It would give him a chance to think, to recenter. Or maybe it was a chance for him to get so drunk he couldn’t remember his own name.
But then she came along—Hannah. She was innocent and scared, vulnerable and seeking refuge from her past. Scars should have turned her away, but when she looked at him with eyes that were too knowing, too broken, he felt like he had purpose again. He felt like they were one and the same.
And the more time he spent with her, the more he… found himself again.
Scars knew one thing for certain. After this was all said and done and Hannah was safe, he wouldn’t let her go.
She was put in his life for a purpose, and that was to be his.
He knew what expression his face probably held.

Hardness. Finally not giving a fuck.

He placed the end of the cigarette between his lips and patted his pockets for his lighter. The sound of the door to the meeting room closing had him looking over his shoulder and seeing Booshie closing them both in.

Well fuck.

“Hey,” Booshie said and gave Scars a chin tilt in greeting.

Scars grunted and lit his cigarette while staring at Booshie.

After lighting the end of the cigarette, he said, “Hey, man.” Scars tossed his lighter on the table, inhaled deeply, and exhaled just as forcefully. After pulling the cigarette away and glancing at it, Scars took one more hit before snubbing it out. “I really need to quit this shit. I told Stella I would, and look at me smoking.”

There was a moment of silence before Booshie responded. “It’s a hard habit to kick.”

Scars nodded and stared at Booshie for long seconds, before finally asking, “What’s up? You look like you got something on your mind.”

Booshie pulled out a chair and sat down a little ways away from him.

Scars looked out the window, waiting for this to be over with. He really didn’t want to get into this with him right now. He knew his VP was probably well aware of the way Scars had been pulling away, retreating into himself.

“Scars.” The sound of Booshie saying his name with exhaustion finally had him turning and facing his brother-in-arms. “I’m your VP, your second in command, and I have known you longer than anyone else in this club.” He left it open like that.

He knew what Booshie was doing. The other man was letting Scars know they were close and therefore needed to trust each other.

Scars sighed, ran a hand through his dark hair, and finally nodded. “Yeah, man, I know. I guess I’m just feeling my age.” And he was. Fuck, he was. He was feeling a hell of a lot more than that, but he didn’t say that outright.

“You act like you’re Ranger’s age.” Booshie grinned, which in turn had Scars smiling too, giving the other man a deep-chested chuckle. “But seriously, what’s up?”

Scars stayed silent a moment then finally pulled the leather chair out at the head of the table and sat down. “I just think I need to get away for a while, maybe head up to the cabin and just relax.”

Booshie nodded. “Not a bad idea. You live and breathe this club, and while that is what we need, you also need time to yourself or you’ll snap and end up taking out a prospect.” He chuckled.

Yeah, and ain’t that the truth. It wouldn't be the first time one of the members kicked a prospect’s ass to let off steam.

Scars stared at his VP for a moment and finally sighed, really fucking feeling his age lately. “Marriage is next, man,” he finally said, knowing Booshie would know what he was talking about.

His little girl was getting married. Well, Stella was a grown woman now, but in his eyes, she’d always be his little girl.

“No shit?”

Scars nodded. “I’m happy for my baby girl. I really am. I feel like a bastard father for feeling this way. I mean, I still remember her running around the clubhouse throwing peanuts at the guys.” Scars started laughing as he pictured that moment.

“Kids have to grow up, man,” Booshie replied after a moment.

“I know, but it makes a guy feel old as shit. It’s like I’m losing the last part of her mother.” That heaviness settled within Scars, and he lifted a hand and rubbed his chest, that ache intensifying. Shit, he wished he could change a lot of shit. It had been a long damn time since he lost his wife, Stella’s mother. She’d been a good woman, strong and understanding, supportive as hell too. She should have never been in this life. They may not have gotten along the majority of the time, and he knew she hated him being in the club, but she stuck it out for their kid.

Then she was gone. Killed by a rival MC that had come seeking retribution. Stella’s mother had been in the wrong place at the very wrong time. Shit, that moment in time had nearly cost Scars his life too.

This life was ugly and violent, but it was all he knew. So after he’d gotten his own revenge, taken out the motherfuckers who’d taken her from him, he’d immersed himself in his club and made sure his daughter always knew she had a family.

Now, she was starting one of her own.

Scars looked over at Booshie and saw the other man shifted in the seat, clearly uncomfortable, because Scars was not a man who showed emotion, and right now, he felt it dripping from him like a leaky faucet.
Booshie, VP of the Vicious Bastards MC, wanted Naggie in the filthiest of ways, but he knew she was off-limits. Yet his obsession only grew for her with each day he was denied her body.
Naggie Conner was wild, spoke her mind, and was covered in ink. She was too much to handle for most, but she didn’t care. This was who she was, and it made her happy. But when betrayal had her world caving in around her, she really let loose and enjoyed a girls’ night out. It seemed like the perfect therapy to put her troubles behind her. But that night of drunken abandon ended up with her going home with Booshie.
Being with the alpha biker was exactly what she envisioned: untamed, explosive, and addictive. She wanted more, even if it wasn’t the best idea. But denying Booshie wasn’t an option. He didn't want just one night with Naggie, and he was not the type of man to be refused.

Reader note: This story was previously published under the same title. It has since been revised and reedited. Material may be sensitive to some readers.

Books in Series:

Going All the Way Series by Jenika Snow

Books by Author:

Jenika Snow

1

The sound of the tattoo gun buzzing and the sight of the ink going into skin, permanently marking a person, had a kind of calming sensation moving through Naggie. She pulled the gun away and ran the paper towel over the skin, wiping off the excess ink. The memorial tattoo she was giving this burly Marine was a tribute to his late wife.

The stories she heard while marking people up were both heartbreaking and uplifting. This particular session was in the heartbreaking category though, hearing Kel tell her about how on his last tour with the Marines, he learned of his wife’s sudden and tragic death in a car accident. Their two-year-old daughter hadn’t been in the car—which he said he was thankful for tenfold—but it was so horrible to hear the pain in his voice.

Life was short, that was for sure, and she never took any of it for granted. Naggie might’ve only been twenty-eight, but she knew life could be taken away before it really began, and that was thanks to a deadbeat mother and a father who had liked to practice his right hooks when he was drunk.

“I think we’re almost done here, Kel.” She added a little more shading around the eyes and leaned back to look at the image. The tattoo was of his wife, Marlene. She had a set of angel wings and looked over their daughter who slept. It was a powerful image, and it was moments like these—when she wasn’t giving her hundredth butterfly tramp stamp of the week or another koi fish on a hip—that made all this worth it.

Not to misunderstand, she loved working on each and every one of her clients, but it was these personal tributes, like the one that split her heart right open, that made all this worth it.

Kel stood and walked over to the full-length mirror hanging on the wall across from her station. He turned to the side and took in the tattoo on his left shoulder blade. For several seconds, he didn’t say anything and just stared at the ink.

“It’s good?” Naggie had been doing this for as long as she could remember. It had first started with her drawing on cantaloupes and then moved to drawing on herself with markers, and soon she was interning at a tattoo parlor in the next town over. It was only when her boss, Cadeon Morris, had moved to Reckless, Colorado, and opened up his tattoo shop, Ipseity, that she had started working professionally as a tattoo artist.

Cadeon was a typical bad boy in their small community, what with his ink and riding around on a Harley, but he wasn’t the only person known as “trouble” in town. The biker gang, the Vicious Bastards MC, also had a pretty hellacious reputation, but now that Cadeon was with the daughter of the president of said MC, she saw more of the outlaws.

“Shit, Naggie.”

She looked at Kel’s reflection again and smiled when he started to tear up. “Good?” God, she was going to start crying.

The big Marine turned and embraced her, and she felt her full five-foot-two height at that moment. Then again, everyone was pretty much taller than she was. He pulled away, and she actually saw that he was crying.

“Thank you.”
Around town, Cadeon Morris was known as trouble. He rode a Harley, owned a tattoo shop, and inked the local motorcycle club. He was who he was and explained himself to no one.
Stella was the daughter of Mickey “Scars” Lore, President of the MC in the town of Reckless. She was used to the members of the MC threatening and scaring off any guy who showed interest in her. But at twenty-three, she wanted to experience life for herself, go wild, and do something she may regret later.

It was time for Stella to get a little ink of her own, and Cadeon was going to be the man to give it to her.
Getting it on with a bad boy sounded like a pretty good way to let loose, and it was only meant to be temporary. But it seemed Cadeon wasn’t all about a one-night stand kind of fling.
He wanted it all.
He wanted Stella.
1

Ipseity.

Selfhood; individual identity, individuality.

That one word meant all of that, but it was also the name of the tattoo shop owned by Cadeon Morris in the small town of Reckless, Colorado. He might have just moved here three years ago, but he already had a reputation, especially for being the artist the local biker gang went to for any and all ink.

And because he catered to the Vicious Bastards MC, and answered to the president of the biker gang, Mickey “Scars” Lore, Stella saw Cadeon quite a bit. Being the daughter of an MC president meant Stella saw a lot of shit, but she was also watched and guarded by the biggest and meanest biker bastards around. And she loved those leather-wearing, joint-smoking, and grease-smelling men who were just as much her family as her father was.

The buzzing sound the tattoo gun made as it pressed into skin filled the air. Stella sat in the leather couch that was butter-soft due to it being old and worn, and she watched as Cadeon added some ink to one of the members named Little.

The other members were over by the bar, their voices loud and boisterous, but all Stella could hear was Cadeon working that needle over Little’s thickly muscled chest. She turned her attention from the fully nude pinup girl that was being inked on the biker and stared at Cadeon’s profile. At forty, he was nearly as old as her father, but he didn’t look his age. With muscles clearly defined under his dark T-shirt, and his thighs as hard and big as tree trunks, Cadeon was a six-foot-five beast built like a tank.

He looked good in the Vicious Bastards’ clubhouse, and although his black hair was cut short, he had that hard edge to him, and that day-old stubble that covered his cheeks showed he fit right in.

“Girl, you either lookin’ at Little pretty fucking hard, or you want the tattoo boy.”

Stella glanced over at Ranger, one of the original Vicious Bastards, and older than her grandpa. To him, everyone was a “boy.” “I’m not looking at anyone. I’m not watching Cadeon work.” She rubbed her suddenly damp hands on her jeans and averted her eyes. Ranger sometimes acted senile, but she knew he was sharper than the majority of the guys in the club.

He sat down beside her, and the scent of old cigar smoke and the aged leather of his cut filtered up her nose. “I was thinking of having the kid give me a new tat.”

Stella leaned back on the couch and pulled her legs up and under her butt. Ranger already had both arms covered in ink, as did the majority of the club, but she didn’t think he had gotten any new ones in quite a while. “Yeah, I was thinking of getting one too.”

Ranger looked over at her and lifted one bushy white eyebrow. His white beard was slightly yellow and touched his chest, but under all the wrinkles and ink, she saw a man who was still filled with so much life. She looked at him much like she did her own father, for guidance and affection.

This club was her family, and these men were the guys she loved more than anything else. Of course, she could do without some of the things that went along with being associated with a biker’s life. Stella looked over Ranger’s shoulder and stared at the club whores rubbing themselves all over the members. That was one of the disadvantages of hanging at the club: all the willing women who threw themselves at the guys in hopes of becoming their old lady.

They tried too hard to be noticed, to be loved by men who didn’t want anything more than an hour or two of their time. But then again, they had chosen the life of a pussy that got passed around. Just thinking about all of that had a sour feeling settling in Stella’s stomach. She didn’t want to put any more thought on what any of them did together.

“So, you actually thinking about getting some ink?” Ranger asked and leaned in to nudge her shoulder with his own.

Stella looked over at Cadeon and Little again and saw they were finishing up. “I was thinking about it, have been for a while now.”

“Your dad know about this?”

She shook her head and then knitted her brows and glanced sideways at him. “What difference does it make if he knows about it or not? It’s not like I need his permission. I’m twenty-three years old for God’s sake.”

Ranger held his hands up and started chuckling. “Calm down, girl. I’m just saying your dad likes to know what’s going on with the club, and you’re part of that.” Ranger still wore a grin, and his teeth, yellow from years of smoking, flashed through his thick beard. “Besides, this is your first, right?”
