Working at the library is my dream job, and story time with the kids is my favorite part. I know what you’re thinking, it’s because of the hot single dad who brings his daughter each week. Sure, he’s easy on the eyes, but that man gets on my last nerve.

This year, I’ve been given the responsibility of planning the annual Christmas fundraiser organized by the Boston Library and Boston Firefighter Association, and I know I can make it a success.

Imagine my surprise when someone from the fire department shows up for the planning meeting, and the single dad from story time comes walking in. His dark brown hair and green eyes are full of excitement when he sees me. I want to wipe that smug smile off his face. I won’t let him ruin this for me.

With each day that passes, I get to know more of Harrison Maggio, the ex-Navy SEAL turned firefighter. The more I know, the harder I fall. But would a guy like Harrison go for a nerdy, booklover who has way too many curves?

The only thing on my Christmas list this year is for a particular firefighter to put out these flames of desire.

Previously released in the Dear Santa anthology as Untamed Flames

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Iwasn’t sure how in the heck I had let Noel talk me into coming to pajama story hour at the library. It wasn’t that I didn’t love doing things like that with my daughter, I did. Hell, I’d do anything she asked when she stared at me with those baby blue eyes of hers.

But pajamas, at a library, with one of the hottest women I’d ever seen sitting up at the front reading a book to the kids and their parents? It was all too much.

“Daddy,” Noel whispered as she tugged on my shirt. “Are you listening to Ms. Emma.”

Smiling, I tapped the end of her nose. “I am, angel.”

She smiled and hugged her stuffed moose closer to her chest.

I glanced back up and moaned internally.

Emma.

The children’s librarian who worked at the central library in Boston. The first time I’d seen her I nearly tripped over my own feet. She had curly brown hair that was usually pulled back in a ponytail or piled on top of her head. Her vivid blue eyes reminded me of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Being a Navy SEAL, I would travel all over the world, and one my favorite places ever was Italy.

Pulling myself from my thoughts, I looked back at Emma. Oh yeah, I was moaning internally when Noel had interrupted me. Emma had her hair up in pigtails. Pig. Tails. Someone needed to tell her how cruel she’s being. Dressed in a one-piece Wendy the Pooh pajama suit, pigtails, and glasses. If you looked up sexy librarian, Emma’s picture would be right there. Maybe minus the pajamas.

My eyes caught on someone walking into the children’s area of the library.

“You’ve got to be kidding me,” I said in a low voice.

“What’s wrong?” Doug, one of my long-time friends and fellow firefighter, asked. He was holding his daughter Olivia in his lap.

“Lucy is here.”

“What?” he nearly shouted.

Emma glanced over at us and frowned before she focused back on the story.

Doug handed Olivia to his wife, Lee. “You need to get her out of here, Harrison. She’s crazy.”

“You don’t think I realize that. Do me a favor, watch Noel for me.”

“Of course, go take care of it.”

Leaning over, I got Noel’s attention. “Angel, Daddy needs to go take care of something. I’ll be right back. I want you to stay with Uncle Doug and Aunt Lee, okay?”

Without taking her eyes from Emma, she nodded. “O-tay, Daddy.”

Kissing her quickly on the cheek, I got up and made my way over to Lucy. She smiled brightly when she saw me. I took her arm and made my way through the rows of books to the back corner.

“What are you doing here?” I whisper-shouted.

She sighed and placed her hand on my chest. “Harold. I’m so glad I found you. I was hoping tonight would be the night.”

I rolled my eyes and cursed under my breath. “My name is Harrison.”

She laughed. “That’s what I said.”

Sighing, I knew I was about to make a mistake by asking, “Tonight would be the night for what?”

“That you finally admit that you have feelings for me.”

I was pretty sure my mouth fell to the floor. “You really are insane, aren’t you?”

She tilted her head and smiled. “I see you’re still fighting this.”

Scrubbing my hand down my face, I exhaled a long breath. “Lucy…I need you to listen to me and listen closely. I have no feelings for you. I hardly know you. We bumped into each other at the coffee shop a week ago. You haven’t gotten my name right since we met.”

Slowly shaking her head, Lucy grabbed onto my shirt and lifted up on her toes.

“Harry…”

“It’s Harrison. My name is Harrison!”

When she licked her lips, I knew I had to get away. Before I could do anything, she wrapped her arms around my neck and planted her mouth onto mine.

It only took me a half of a second to reach for her arms and gently unwrap them as I took a step away.

“Lucy…”

She frowned. “Nothing? You don’t feel anything? Not even here!”

When she went to reach for my dick I jumped back.

“Excuse me, but this is neither the time nor the place for this.”

I swung my head around to see Emma. Oh great. She was the last person I wanted to see at that moment. There was something ridiculously adorable with her dressed in the Winnie the Pooh outfit and her hands on her hips looking angry.

I held up my hands. “It’s not what you think.”

She folded her arms over her chest and glared at me.

“Well,” Lucy said with a dramatic sigh. “I see my powers have not worked on you, Hank. I guess I’m off to the next man.”

“What?” I said as I turned to look at her.

Pouting she replied, “Oh Hendrick, it could never work between us. The feelings simply aren’t there.”
Wes Ward finds himself in new territory. Less than a year ago, he lived in New York City in a fantastic loft that overlooked upper Manhattan. Women in and out of his bed anytime he wanted and not a damn care in the world.

Now?

Now, he finds himself back in Boston plotting ways to stop his high school girlfriend, Mandy, from getting married, dodging his mother's every attempt at helping him settle down, and trying to understand why Clare Monroe makes him forget everything and everyone when she smiles at him.

What is this insane feeling he feels anytime Clare is near him? Why can't he stop thinking about her every second of every day?

And what does he do about Mandy, the woman he fought so hard for who is willing to give their relationship another try right when Wes is ready to admit his feelings for Clare?

This is NOT a love triangle book :)

Falling for Her is a friends to lovers trope and can be read as a stand alone but the author highly recommends you start at the beginning of the series.

1. Searching for Harmony
2. Fighting for Love
3. Falling for Her

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Clare

Bananas and Bickering

Wes Ward is going to be the death of me. I didn’t know if I liked him or despised him. From the moment we met, he’s been nothing but a pain in my ass. Smart remarks, wickedly handsome face, arrogant, a body to die for, rich, a manwhore. And the way he looked at me sometimes made me question everything. One minute, he was hot, then the next cold. One moment, he flirted; the next, he insulted me. It had been that way from day one.

“You know, if you stare long enough at Wes with those daggers in your eyes, you may just kill him,” Autumn whispered. She was one of my very best friends. She and Rory were my ride-or-die. Now Rory was married to Finn Ward, Wes’s younger brother, and my life would never be the same again—not with Wes there every time I turned around.

“He’s just so…annoying,” I whispered, trying not to draw attention to myself. We were at little Presley’s dance recital. Presley was the daughter of Preston and Harmony Ward. Preston and their sister Angie were Wes’s younger siblings.

It was adorable seeing three and four-year-olds dance around on stage. They did more bumping into each other and giggling than they did dancing.

When the recital was over, we were all invited to Preston and Harmony’s house, which was in the suburbs outside of Boston. Once there, I did my best to ignore Wes. I didn’t like how my body reacted around him.

Spying a dessert table, I made my way through the crowd. The Wards were Irish, and I was pretty sure they invited every Irishman in the Boston area. Of course, Preston owned an Irish pub called Flanagan’s.

Reaching for a mini cupcake, my body sensed him before he spoke a word.

“How is it? I knew I would find you where the desserts were?”

I glared at Wes before I shoved the whole mini cupcake into my mouth.

He raised his eyebrow and said, “Impressive. Can you do that with a normal-sized cupcake?”

“Wouldn’t you like to know?” I spat back, my mouth full of chocolate cake and chocolate buttercream.

When he leaned in closer, I could smell his cologne. It was a mix of spices and a woody smell. It was intoxicating, and I had to force myself not to take a deep breath through my nose.

Wes reached for a cupcake and took a bite. “You know,” he said as he leaned against the wall, “I don’t picture you as the type of girl who…plays…with her food.”

My mouth dropped open. “What is that supposed to mean?”

He gave a one-shoulder shrug. “You seem like you’re all talk, Clare.”

“Eat a bag of dicks, Wes.”

He grinned. “So full of sexual innuendo.”

Turning to face him, I smiled. “I haven’t said a single thing about sex, Wes. Somewhere in that dirty mind of yours, you imagined I did.”

“You didn’t?” he asked, a single brow raised. “You asked if I would like to know if you could put a whole cupcake into your mouth.”

My arms folded across my chest. “And in your mind, that translated into I can put a dick and two balls into my mouth? Is that it?”

A voice cleared from behind me, and my entire body went red.

Please don’t be Jennifer, Wes’s mother. Please, please, please.

Wes’s face broke into a wide smile. I shot him a dirty look and turned to see Rory standing there. “Hey, Rory.”

She looked between me and Wes and sighed. “I don’t even want to know what the two of you were talking about?”

Wes laughed. “Clare here was trying her best to flirt with me.”

“What!” I shouted, causing Rory to pinch my arm. “Ouch!”

“Please keep your voice down, Clare. Can the two of you please get along for an hour, maybe two?”

“We get along,” Wes stated, giving me a wink.

Forcing a smile, I nodded. “We totally get along. Wes was just in awe of my ability to give-”

Rory held up her hand. “I heard. I don’t need you to repeat it, whatever it was you were talking about. What I would like is for the two of you not to bicker and argue and just please remember this is for Presley and there are little ears everywhere.”

“Of course, we know this is for Presley, and I promise we’ll be on our best behavior.”

“Wes?” Rory demanded.

While Rory was reprimanding us, I picked up a banana and started to peel it. With Rory facing Wes and me standing behind her, I placed the banana into my mouth and took it in as far as I could. Wes started to choke, and Rory placed her hands on her hips.

“Wes, this isn’t funny,” Rory said, pointing her finger at him just like a mom would do. “Stop acting like a five-year-old.

“Me?” Wes said, pointing in my direction. But I was too quick, and the banana was gone before Rory even looked my way.
A larger-than-life firefighter inspires a career-driven woman to live in the moment—and trust in the power of love—in this flirty, emotional novel from the New York Times bestselling author of Searching for Harmony.

Finn Ward has two passions: being a firefighter and being single. Although his parents are constantly nagging him to settle down, Finn just wants to enjoy himself while he’s young. Then, at a union meeting, he meets a gorgeous lawyer with a dazzling smile—and suddenly, settling down doesn’t sound so bad.

Rory Adams is fresh out of law school and looking to make a name for herself at her mother’s firm. She doesn’t have time for silly games anymore. But when she catches the eye of a dashing fireman who makes her body tingle from across the room, something instantly ignites between them. The only problem? Her father is Finn’s boss.

Their relationship turns both of their lives upside-down. Rory tames Finn’s wild ways, while he shows her that life can’t be all work and no play. But it’ll take some serious determination to keep their love secret—and real courage to admit the truth.

Praise for Kelly Elliott’s Searching for Harmony

“Searching for Harmony is a heartwarming story of a woman who suffers an unthinkable tragedy—and finds an unimaginable love. It’s a real charmer!”—USA Today bestselling author Tina Wainscott

Includes an excerpt from another Loveswept title.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Finn

Same story, different day

“It’s time to settle down. You’re almost twenty-seven.”

My mother’s voice was on repeat while my feet pounded the pavement beneath me. I dragged in a deep breath, the early fall air filling my lungs while I pushed myself harder as I ran through the Fens. I loved running in this park. It was close to my job and my condo. And not that I would ever admit it to anyone, I loved the gardens.

I picked up my speed and headed down Boylston Street. Normally during my runs, I would stop at least once or twice to talk to a pretty girl looking my way, but today I wasn’t in the mood. Not after having dinner with my folks last night. Their constant nagging to settle down had me in a foul mood today.

“Morning, Finn!” Mr. Thomas called out.

I lifted my hand and called back, “Morning, sir!”

“I’ve got fresh berries!”

Laughing, I spun around and ran backward. “I’ll be by when my shift is up!”

I turned around and picked up the pace.

My T-shirt was soaked with sweat as I made my way toward the firehouse. Stopping outside the open door, I rested my hands on my knees and took in a few deep breaths.

“Your birthday is coming up and you’re already feeling it, huh? Old age.”

I glanced up to see my best friend standing there with a smirk on his face. I shot Colton a dirty look. “Go to hell,” I mumbled as I straightened and walked into the building.

Slapping me on the back, he laughed. “Someone is grumpy. What’s wrong? Didn’t get laid last night?”

I grabbed a bottle of water and downed it before I tossed it in the trash and replied, “No, I didn’t. I haven’t in the last week, and therein lies the problem. Well, that and the fact that my mother will not stop talking about me finding a girl and settling down.”

A look of horror moved over Colton’s face, and I chuckled. “What? Doesn’t she know you’re in your prime time of life right now? Endless pussy is bountiful.”

With a lighthearted laugh, I headed upstairs to shower and called back, “Apparently not. My poor little sister Angela is taking the brunt of it, though. For some reason, my mother is hell-bent on her finding a guy.”

“Have I ever told you your sister is hot?”

I stopped and turned to face him. “I don’t care how long we’ve been friends, don’t call my sister hot. How many times do I have to tell you that?”

Rob Mason, another firefighter, walked down the stairs past me and added, “Dude, your sister is hot.”

“Oh, come on, Rob! Not you, too.”

Colton pushed me up the steps. “Come on. Our shift starts soon, and you stink.”

24 Hours Later

Walking into the conference room, I took a quick glance around. My eyes were immediately drawn to the curvy woman in the pencil skirt. That ass alone was enough to make my dick jump. Hell, I couldn’t take my eyes off her. I chuckled and shook my head.

I need to get laid.

She stood with her back to me talking to our new fire chief, Rick Adams. He was a hard-ass and had already formed his opinion of me and Colton as the station’s resident playboys. We were two of the younger guys in our house, even though we had both been in service for almost nine years.

“See something you like?” Colton asked with a slap on the back.

Grinning, I nodded my head. “Who is she?”

We took seats near the back. I had a clear view of the front podium where the speakers sat, and I hoped like hell she’d sit at the end of the table so I could see her. Everyone else quickly found seats.

“Lawyer with Adams, Burks, and Monroe.”

I lifted my brow and nodded. Zeb Clark sat next to me as he reached out for my hand for a fist bump. “What’s up, guys?”

Colton and I both gave him a head nod and replied at once. “Not much.”

“All right let’s sit and listen to the same bullshit we always listen to,” Zeb whispered as I let out a halfhearted chuckle.

I appreciated our union, but damn these meetings were the same old shit time and time again.

The meeting had barely even started, and I found myself nodding off to sleep. I forced myself to keep my eyes open as long as I could before my head dropped and I dozed off. I jerked awake when Colton hit my arm, then leaned over and whispered, “The lawyer is watching you, and if you’re not careful, Adams is going see you back here sleeping.”

I lifted my eyes and caught hers. Holy shit. I could see the blue in her eyes from where I was sitting. The left corner of her mouth rose into a smirk while she shook her head. With a shrug, I gave her a wink, which made her blush.
Firefighter and first responder Preston Ward thought he had grown immune to the job’s emotional burns. But when he goes out on a particularly tragic call, he realizes that some scenes are too devastating to forget. And yet, if it weren’t for that terrible night, he never would have met the woman who makes him want to risk his heart.
More than once, Harmony Banks has watched her perfectly ordered world torn apart by fate. Now she’s finding out that what she lost wasn’t as perfect as she thought—and it’s tearing her apart. The only thing that keeps her going is the kindness of a stranger: the firefighter who saved her life the night everything changed.
Preston isn’t like the men who have come before. For one thing, he’s far more genuine. And the love Harmony feels growing between them is almost too intense for her wounded soul. But if she and Preston can push past heartbreak, they’ll find that something incredible awaits in each other’s arms.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Prologue

Trey reached for my hand as we stood in my living room. My mother and father stared at both of us as I inhaled a deep breath. My brother, Jake, sat to the side of my parents as he gave me a reassuring smile. “Mom, Dad, we have something we need to tell you.”

Glancing at his watch, my father took in a sharp breath. “Well, Harmony, don’t just stand there; go on and tell us. We have a dinner at eight that I cannot be late for.”

My heart dropped as I felt Trey squeeze my hand. Two days ago, Trey and I had broken up. We were about to graduate from high school and were heading to two different colleges. It wasn’t like I didn’t love Trey. I did. I just wasn’t in love with Trey and I knew he felt the same way.

This morning everything had changed. Both of our worlds came to a complete stop.

Closing my eyes, I spoke the words in almost a whisper. “I’m pregnant.”

Trey dropped my hand and snaked his arm around my waist. I knew it was only a show of support for me. Trey hated my parents. Hated the way they treated me like I was an asset instead of a daughter. I was used to it since it was all I ever knew.

Standing, my father cracked his neck and nodded. “I’ll take care of everything first thing tomorrow morning.”

Pulling my head back in surprise, I asked, “Take care of what?”

My mother stood and faced my father. “We’ll need to do it swiftly and keep the utmost privacy. Maybe we need to look into Harrison County.”

Glancing at Trey, I saw that he raised his shoulders and shook his head. Turning back to my parents, I stepped forward. “What are you both talking about?”

Giving me a weak smile, my mother said, “An abortion. It will be done within a week.”

Bringing my hands up to my mouth, I stood there, stunned. Surely they were not serious. My parents were very religious and did not believe in abortion.

Trey laughed as he said, “You’re both crazy.”

Jake stood up and looked between my parents. “You can’t be serious.”

Shaking my head, I said, “No. I’m not having an abortion. What are you even talking about?”

Daddy turned to Jake and said, “Stay out of this. It does not concern you.” Looking at Trey and then me, his eyes turned to sadness. “You have two options, Harmony. Abortion and continue on to Harvard, or leave and be disowned by your parents. It’s your choice.”

Chapter 1

It’s Just a Dream

Harmony

TWO YEARS LATER

Looking out the window, I fought to keep my anger down. I didn’t want to be angry with Trey. I knew it wasn’t his fault he had to go to another business meeting tonight. He had started working for his father’s marketing firm as soon as we graduated from high school while he still tried to go to school full-time. While I was pregnant with TJ, I began taking classes at the University of Massachusetts to become a nurse. It was hard on both of us, but we managed, considering neither of us had college degrees yet and we had an almost eighteen-month-old baby.

Glancing into the backseat, I smiled when I saw TJ sleeping. Looking straight ahead, I closed my eyes and thought back to this morning.

“We’re going to find you, Daddy!” I’d said as I took TJ’s hand as we searched for Trey. Laughing, TJ yelled out, “Daddy! We coming!”

“Oh no!” Trey called out.

Dropping to the floor in front of TJ, I covered my mouth and then whispered, “TJ! I heard Daddy. Did you hear Daddy?”

Slowly nodding, his little blue eyes gazed back at mine as they danced with excitement. “Want to go sneak up on him and yell boo?”

Laughing, TJ wrapped his arms around my neck. “Yes, Mommy! Boo!”

Picking him up, I inhaled a deep breath as I took in his smell. Smiling, I held him tighter as we snuck into the living room and climbed up on the sofa. Putting my finger to my lips, I pointed behind the sofa. TJ jumped on the cushion and quickly looked behind the sofa and yelled out, “Boo, Daddy!”

Trey flew up with his hands on his heart as he fell back and said, “You scared me!”

Laughing, TJ reached his arms up for Trey. Reaching for him, Trey scooped up TJ and smiled at me. “It’s Mommy’s turn to hide.”

Pointing at me, TJ smiled and then buried his face in Trey’s chest while Trey counted.

Smiling at me, Trey seemed happy for the first time in weeks.

Turning now to Trey, I took in a deep breath and slowly blew it out. “I’m sorry, Trey. I’m sorry I got angry. I know you have to do whatever your dad tells you to do.”

Gripping the steering wheel tighter, Trey took in a deep breath and slowly let it out. “You know I hate this just as much as you do. There is nothing I can do about it though. My dad was nice enough to open up a position for me and let me basically train on the job. I…no…we owe my parents a lot.”
