He’s the president of the Dark Knights MC. She’s the stepdaughter of a quiet, but deadly, member of the Blood Fury MC…
Right now there’s only one threat to his lifestyle.
Her.
Stella - Trip’s ol’ lady/wife

Prologue

Romeo tracked her as she walked across the Blood Fury MC’s courtyard.

The young strawberry blonde with the big brown eyes.

The same as her mother.

The same as her younger sister.

She wore no one’s colors, despite being old enough to be an ol’ lady. From what he could tell, she had to be only a few years younger than him.

His best fucking guess? She was at least twenty-one now since she was drinking. Not that her doing so was a perfect indicator. Romeo doubted the Fury gave a shit about underage drinking.

He could be wrong—that happened sometimes—since he heard Trip, the Fury president, was pretty damn strict. Totally fucking opposite of him, the president of the Dark Knights.

But then, he was younger than either president of the Fury or the Dirty Angels. Add in the fact he also liked to party fucking hard and often, he wasn’t enough of a dick to police anyone in his club—or even anyone connected to his club—unless he had no damn choice.

And anyway, he had his no-fucking-nonsense sergeant at arms to do that shit for him. No matter that Magnum no longer had youth on his side, he still fucking had it in him to pound someone into the ground or make someone shit their pants with one cocked eyebrow.

Romeo licked his lips as he thought about Magnum's hot-as-fuck, much younger wife.

That had him turning his wandering thoughts back to the woman heading toward the covered pavilion. Right now the popular gathering spot was too crowded for him to approach. He didn’t want anyone listening in on his “game.” He’d find a better time when she wasn’t surrounded by others who might fuck up his plans.

When he could speak to her in private. Turn on his charm.

Test the waters.

Because he planned on having her before this wedding weekend was over.

The fuck if he was leaving Manning Grove without finding a willing woman to warm his bed. It didn’t have to be the same woman each night. He wasn’t picky. His only requirement was soft thighs, big tits and an ass that wouldn’t quit.

A mouth that wouldn’t quit, either. And he didn’t mean when using it in conversation.

He was currently drawing a blank on her name because—between the three clubs, all their sweet butts, hang-arounds and others who had descended on the Blood Fury’s farm for the wedding between the Fury member named Easy and their president’s sister—there were way too many goddamn people to remember.

If he had to be honest, he really didn’t give a fuck what her name was. The second he kicked her out of his bed, he’d forget it anyway. What he wouldn’t forget was if her pussy was tight, how wet she got, or how skilled she was with those soft, plump lips.

A grin crossed his face as he closed his eyes and imagined her spread naked in the bed in his rented RV. The one parked in a field on the same farm where he stood.

Since the motels in town were booked solid due to the weekend-long wedding, he had no choice but to rent one. Unless he wanted to pitch a fucking tent.

And not one in his jeans.

Romeo did not sleep on the fucking ground. Ever.

Unless he was passed-out drunk.

Or someone happened to be lucky enough to knock his ass out.

If he was out cold—by either booze or a sucker punch—one of his brothers better move him somewhere more comfortable. One of the many perks of being voted in as prez.
When life comes crashing down around you, the only thing left to do is pick up the pieces…
Easy’s a man who made a mistake and paid for it with four years of his life. A man who trusted someone who turned around and screwed him so hard it landed him in prison.
A man who spent years searching for where he belonged. Who found his place after he joined the Blood Fury MC. Who finally found his “easy.”
At least until her. A woman who has him playing a dangerous game. One neither of them can win unless he changes the game and the rules.
Even so, while she’s a risk, she’s also the reward. But things can change in the blink of an eye.
Ready or not, life is barreling towards him faster than he can handle.
All he can do is hang on for the ride and hope, in the end, he survives.
ASHES! WE ALL FALL DOWN

Ethan took a last drag on his Marlboro, flicked what remained out into the dark and watched it bounce off the pavement, creating a small explosion of embers. His eyes followed the motion as the July breeze spun it into a small glowing arc.

He pushed himself off the brick wall where he’d been leaning and before he could stomp it out, another boot came out of nowhere and did it for him.

“Landry said he scored a case of Rolling Rock.”

“Yeah?”

“Yeah. Invited us over. Wanna go?”

Ethan shrugged.

“Said there’s gonna be girls there. And his parents are gone for the night.”

“Yeah?”

“Is that all you can fucking say?”

“Yeah,” Ethan answered with a smirk.

Ben snorted and punched Ethan in the arm. “You’re an asshole.”

“Yeah.”

“Don’t you wanna get laid tonight?”

“Yeah.”

“Then let’s go. You’re not going to get your dick wet standing here.”

That was true.

It had been a month since Mallory had dropped his ass like a hot coal. He fucked up, so he couldn’t blame her for kicking his ass to the curb. But still, his easy access to pussy went along with her.

Now he had to work for it.

Yeah, the girls in his class didn’t mind flirting but when it came to sliding off their panties and in between their thighs, that took a lot more effort. Sometimes more than he was willing to make.

He just needed to find himself a fuck-buddy. A girl who wasn’t uptight about sex, but also wasn’t a clinger.

Mallory had been a clinger with claws.

She didn’t like when he talked to other girls, forget looking at them. She was jealous as fuck. She had even yanked a chunk of hair out of some chick’s head when the girl decided to sit down next to him at his lunch table and invite him over to watch a movie on her big screen.

It was all too much damn drama for him.

He liked to keep things chill.

Mallory was far from chill. But her pussy had been tight and she didn’t mind sucking his dick, either.

He sighed. “Yeah, let’s go.”

At worst, if he couldn’t get laid, he’d get drunk and stoned out of his fucking mind. Landry’s older brother usually had some premium green. If the guy was home and willing to share. Though, he tended to ignore Landry and his friends since they were still only seniors in high school.

Whatever.

Not twenty minutes later, he, Ben, Landry and Will were standing around the blazing fire pit in Landry’s backyard.

So far not one fucking girl had shown up and Landry’s older brother was nowhere to be found. The only thing keeping Ethan standing there was the cold beer in his hand and the rest of the case buried in ice in a nearby cooler.

Otherwise, this “party” was totally fucking lame.

“Where are the girls, Lan?” Ethan asked him.

His buddy was standing on the other side of the pit, the glow of the flames giving his face a reddish tint. Landry finished swallowing his mouthful of beer and scrubbed a hand over his mouth. “They said they were coming.”

“Yeah, right,” Ethan huffed.

Landry probably lied about the girls to get them to come over. Because just a case of Rolling Rock and Landry’s playlist on some new app called Spotify wasn’t going to cut it.

“Know where your brother hides his pot?” Ethan asked him.

Landry shook his head. “We’d be passing around his bong right now if I did.”

Ben let out a long, low, “Whoooooooa,” under his breath and everyone turned to check out what he was staring at.

A hot blonde made her way through two bushes from a line of them that separated the homes. She only wore a tiny string bikini. At nine at night. In the fucking dark. It was far too late to be sunbathing.

But there she was, cutting across the lawn like she was headed to the beach on a hot summer day.

“That one of the girls you invited?” Will asked Landry.

“No.”

The girl gave Landry a small wave and pointed toward the cooler on the back porch. Landry lifted his beer and called out, “Help yourself.”
You never know where the road may lead you. Or who you’ll find along the way…
When Whip comes across a disabled motorcycle at the foot of the mountain—the one that’s nothing but bad news—he hopes the stranded rider is nothing more than just that. Someone who needs help.
And not a trap. Or an undercover fed. When her motorcycle breaks down on a deserted road, Fallon Murphy’s caught off guard by the mechanic with the sexy smirk who comes to her rescue.
After shedding her restrictive corporate chains, she’s now living life on her own terms. She no longer answers to anyone for anything.
Like most bikers, her motto is “live free, ride free.” But that’s where her and Whip’s similarities end. The saying is “opposites attract,” but Whip tried that once before. It didn’t work out.
Fallon’s not only far out of his league, they couldn’t be more opposite. Even so, he isn’t easily deterred. However, to his surprise, Fallon has her own plans and isn’t shy about going after what she wants.
Meanwhile, trouble on that mountain is brewing, and no one is safe. His MC stands at a crossroads, and it’s time for the Fury to take action once and for all.
No more excuses. No more quarter. No mercy given. Especially from the one who goes by that name.
Note: Blood & Bones: Whip is the eleventh book in the Blood Fury MC series. This older woman/ younger man romance (seven-year difference) has no cheating, no cliffhanger, and has an HEA. It’s highly recommended to read this series in order.
First mistake: He let his guard down...
If it wasn’t for his cellmate, Rook, during his last bid in prison, Dodge never would’ve landed in Manning Grove.
In that small town in upstate Pennsylvania, he found his tribe. His brotherhood. His family.
Especially after years of having nothing. Being a part of the Blood Fury MC, life is good. Solid. It gives him something he’s never had before. Stability and roots.
He’s successfully managing Crazy Pete’s bar. He has his choice of women. He has zero complaints. Then she walks in. He tries his best to ignore her, until it becomes impossible.
The moment she begins to sing on stage, it flips him inside out and upside down. Her sinful, sultry voice drags him under her spell and never lets him go.
An invisible knife stabbed him in the ribs.

He lengthened his stride, pushing through the pain and pushing himself harder.

His destination was clear.

Escape.

The further he got away from that house, the further he got away from them, the better his chances were.

His sneakers slapped the concrete as he sprinted down the sidewalk.

“Stop! Police!”

That fucking house. He knew he’d find her there.

“Stop!”

He always found her there.

Stoned and passed out on the floor on a stained, filthy mattress. What used to be light colored fabric was now black and brown. And even dark red in some spots.

“Stop!”

Tonight, her second-hand dress had been pulled up to her waist. Her legs and other places exposed. Places a son shouldn’t see on his mother.

“Stop!”

Her eyes were closed, appearing asleep. Her mouth slack. A rubber tube still tied around her arm above her elbow.

“We’re only trying to help you!”

Liars.

The cop who shouted that out was now wheezing.

Good. Maybe they’d give up soon.

“Hey, kid, stop running!”

Needles.

Syringes.

Lighters.

Spoons.

Pipes.

Burnt aluminum foil.

Empty plastic bottles. Empty soda cans.

Empty faces.

Empty bodies.

Empty.

Empty.

All fucking empty.

Junkies propped in the corners of the crumbling, dark rooms. Along the hallway. On the stairs. All of them high. Some of them semi-awake, most of them not. Some of them maybe even dead.

He didn’t give a shit. She was the only junkie in that house that mattered to him.

He was only there to find the woman who was supposed to be responsible for him.

It wasn’t supposed to be the other way around.

He tried to hear his pursuers over his own strained panting and racing heart. To gauge how close they were.

They hadn’t given up yet.

Not yet.

He needed to lose them.

He darted left and down a dark alley.

And stopped short.

Shit. He picked the wrong fucking one.

Headlights sliced across the narrow alley. He winced and shielded his eyes when a spotlight hit him directly in the face.

Fuck!

He swiveled his head back and forth, desperate to find an escape.

He wasn’t sure if his mom was dead. He never got a chance to check before the house was swarmed with men in uniform. But dead or not, the cops showing up at a crack house was never good.

Them chasing him was even worse.

A closed dumpster was pushed against one brick wall, but even if he climbed on top of it, he still couldn’t reach the roof of the two-story building.

He was trapped. With only one way out.

The way he came in.

He gritted his teeth and took off, right toward the cop car blocking the entrance and heading in his direction.

He screamed as loud as he could as he ran directly at it.

His sprinted as fast as he could but the vehicle was faster.

Worse, so much bigger.

Before he could dart out of its path, what felt like a brick wall knocked him off his feet. He fell backwards, his arms windmilling in a failed attempt to catch his balance.

All the air shot from his lungs as he struck the pavement hard. His brain rattled in his skull as it hit, too.

It was over.

Done.

He closed his eyes and surrendered.

His life just like the alley.

A dead end.

The fingers gripping his shoulder dug in deeper. A silent warning not to flee. But if he got the chance, he would.

He didn’t want to be here.

Not on that stoop.

Not with those people. Both the ones outside and inside.

One of the two cops flanking him jabbed his finger against the fancy doorbell again.

A few lock clicks were heard, then one side of the double doors opened, cool air from the air conditioning rushed out and a tall, thin blonde woman stood on the other side, looking down her nose at them.

Victoria Collins.

The woman Dodge’s mother called Tricky Vickie for whatever reason. Dodge didn’t care why, he just knew the woman was his stepmother in name only.

With a pinched face, her gaze skimmed both cops, then dropped to Dodge, standing between them.

Her lips twisted and her eyes narrowed as she slowly raised her gaze from him back to one of the officers. “May I help you?”

“Good afternoon, ma’am. We’re looking for Kevin Collins,” the filthy pig to his right announced.

Apparently, the invisible lemon she was sucking on became more bitter. “What’s this about?” Her words might as well have icicles hanging off each one.

“We’re looking for his father, ma’am.”

Dodge rolled his eyes. They were at the wrong house, then. The man who lived there never once acted like his father. The asshole who lived on and off with his mother was more of a father to him than the one at this address.
They call him The Great Oz, but for Ozzy, sometimes life isn’t so great...
Over twenty years ago, at seventeen, the Blood Fury’s colors were inked onto Ozzy’s back. But when the club imploded, he was one of the few who survived.
Throughout his life, the Original has made mistakes. Too many to count. Most didn’t matter. Until the last one. The one he regrets. The one that left a mark.
Once he realized he screwed up, it was too late. Now his urge to hit the road is strong, to go back to being a nomad tempting. Recent events proved he never should’ve come back since being a rolling stone’s in his blood.
Because back then, he’d only joined the Blood Fury for one reason and one reason only... Revenge.
Now, once again, nothing’s holding him in Manning Grove any longer. Until someone tied to his past appears. She makes him reevaluate his life choices, in both the past and for the future.
However, will he learn from his latest mistake, or is he destined to make the same one all over again? Or will his choice be made for him once the truth is revealed?
Note: Blood & Bones: Ozzy is the ninth book in the Blood Fury MC series. As always, this book has no cheating, no cliffhanger, and has an HEA. It’s best to read this series in order. It’s also highly recommended to read Crash: A Dirty Angels MC/Blood Fury MC Crossover before Ozzy’s story.
He was late. If she caught him, his mom would be pissed.

But he’d gotten good at sneaking into his room late at night.

He’d stayed at the arcade until management locked the doors and turned off the lights, forcing him and his friends to leave. He’d had his best bud Jon drop him off at the corner, so his rusty piece of shit Chevy with the hole in the muffler wouldn’t wake up his mother, giving it away he was out past curfew.

Last time he was caught, he was grounded for a month.

But if he got caught tonight, it would’ve been worth it. The badass initials for his name Thomas Kinley Oswald were now sitting at the number one spot on the high scores list for Galaga, his favorite arcade game.

His goal was to one day make it all the way to level 255. The final level.

One day…

It hadn’t been tonight and it might take a while to get there, but he was still happy about taking the number one spot from the cocky senior who had held it for months. Now he just needed to do his best to stay there.

He’d spent a small fortune to get that good. His mom thought he was saving up to buy a used car for when he turned sixteen next year. Once he got one, she wanted him to get a job and help her out since, even though she worked hard, she was always behind in her bills.
From a past of righteousness to a future of anything but…
Rev rarely does what’s expected of him. The Blood Fury member’s rebellious nature tends to lead him on the road less traveled.
In his youth, he fought the chains meant to restrain him, meant to force him on a righteous path. A path he never chose. A path he never planned to follow.
He prefers to pave his own road, taking detours to forge his own future. Even if it’s one full of sin.
But an unexpected call drags him back to the painful past he’s left far behind. One he’s tried to forget.
No good reason exists for him to return. Except to witness the final moments of the person who made him and his sister suffer.
Maybe even get a taste of revenge. However, he’s not sure he can deal with it alone. He wants someone to stand by him and help give him strength.
A woman who also carves her own path and spits in the face of restrictive rules. The problem is, she’s off limits. No matter how tempting she is, no matter how satisfying the sin would be, touching her is one rule he can’t break.
Ultimately, mistakes are made. Secrets are forced to be kept. Because he’s a sinner.
He was born one. He will die one.
And in between, he plans to enjoy the life he chose. Sins and all.
Levi Bryson – Adopted son of Matt & Carly Bryson (birth mother: Autumn)

Prologue

For I have sinned

He hated it.

Hated her.

Hated them.

All of them. Every last one.

He hated kneeling.

He hated praying.

He hated the endless drone of their voices.

He even hated the ten wooden chairs that formed a circle around him.

In those chairs sat his mother and nine other women from their church. When the women had entered the room, they refused to look at him and his mother demanded he keep his eyes lowered to the open book in his hand.

Why?

Because Michael was a sinner.

His spine, from his tailbone to the top of his neck, felt ready to splinter.

The skin on his bare knees was about to split open from kneeling on the stack of wooden rulers.

His muscles cramped from keeping perfectly still so the bible balanced on his head wouldn’t tumble to the floor.

His arms trembled from holding the “good book” open in his hands.

He wasn’t allowed to move except to turn the wafer-thin pages.

His mouth moved as he followed along with the passage but not one word escaped. His eyes didn’t need to focus on the tiny print on the well-worn pages because he had been forced to read the bible so many times he knew the passage by heart.

Not that this particular scripture meant anything to him. It didn’t.

Because he was a sinner.

He was born one.

He would die one.

And in between, he planned on living a life full of sin.

Keeping his head tipped down to hide it, one corner of his upper lip pulled up into a sneer.

He would remain in the center of that circle surrounded by these women and their monotone voices until the elder, the one who looked like a walking corpse, decided he had atoned for his latest transgression.

In the meantime, if he dropped the bible, he’d get ten lashes. If he stood without permission, he’d get twenty. If he told them all to fuck off, he had no idea how many lashes he’d be blessed with, but a bar of soap would be forced into his mouth, and he’d be locked in his room without supper. To think about his inexcusable actions, he would have to sit in a wooden chair with his hands in his lap, his feet flat on the floor while he continued to pray and ask for forgiveness until his father came home.
The neighborhood was sketchy as shit.

While he didn’t expect a gated, luxury community, the shit-hole house surprised him.

He’d found the Baltimore address along with her name in scratchy handwriting on the back of a torn envelope buried deep in his father’s dresser drawer. Under a loaded .40 caliber handgun with the serial number ground off and a full box of ammo.

Randy wondered why those three things were kept in the same spot. Was Dutch planning on coming down here for a final reunion? Did he hate the woman that much?

He wouldn’t be surprised if his father did.

They weren’t allowed to speak her name in their house. Not since the day she walked out.

That was three years ago. When he was twelve and his brother Chris was eight.

Three damn years.

Randy wondered if Dutch knew where she was all that damn time and never told them. Knowing his asshole father, he probably fucking did.

From where Randy had parked the piece of shit Pontiac at the curb, he twisted his head and studied the duplex through the passenger-side window. He had no doubt which one Bebe lived in.

The one with the rebel flag covering the front window.

Randy’s lips flattened. Figures.

One-by-one, he peeled his fingers off the steering wheel and gritted his teeth. He needed to get the hell out of the vehicle and go up to the door. He didn’t drive all this way for nothing.

He didn’t risk stealing the LeMans only for shits and giggles.

He was here now. He was doing this.

He was here to find out why.

Why a mother would just up and leave her sons. Never see them again. Never talk to them again.

Forget they ever existed.

He pulled a deep breath in through his nose, held it and blew it out his mouth.

Fuck this.

The driver’s door creaked loudly as he forced it open. He had to slam it shut twice to get it to latch closed.

“Piece of fuckin’ shit,” he muttered, giving the door a good kick. He should’ve stolen a Corvette or something. However, this vehicle had been easy to pinch and he could start it with a screwdriver. It was why he picked it.

Plus, it wasn’t flashy. Like a Corvette.

His goal was to get from Manning Grove to Baltimore and back without getting caught.

By his father or the pigs.

He rounded the front of the Pontiac sedan, dodged the garbage bags piled at the curb, strode over the cracked concrete sidewalk and up the porch steps. The storm door that used to hang on her side of the duplex now leaned against the siding. The screen was busted out like someone had punched it and the wood frame was splintered.

He hesitated for the few seconds it took him to take another deep breath before using the side of his fist to beat on the wood door with the peeling paint and no window or peephole. She would have no clue who was standing on the other side.

She would either answer it or she wouldn’t.

“Who the fuck is it?” came from the bowels of the house.

If he answered that question, she might not open the door. Instead, he pounded again. This time harder and louder.

“God-fuckin-damnit! Keep your fuckin’ pants on!”

A lock clicked and the door abruptly swung open with an ear-piercing creak.

And there she was. The woman who had pushed him out of her snatch a little over fifteen years ago.

His upper lip curled as he took her in.

Her dark blonde stringy hair had three inches of solid gray roots. She wore frayed Daisy Dukes that showed way too much skin for her age or body size. Her cottage-cheese thighs squeezing out of the bottom of the denim shorts reminded him of a popped zit.

She had on a threadbare T-shirt that told people to “Get Fucked.” The neckline had been cut out and sliced down the chest to show off her tits. Ones not contained by any bra.

As she stared at him, she squinted one dull blue eye when the smoke from the Pall Mall swirled into it.

She looked like hell. Way worse than what he remembered.

When both eyes narrowed on him, she yanked the cigarette from her mouth. Probably so it wouldn’t tumble from her lips when they gaped open at the sight of him on her front porch.

“Which one are you?”

What a cunt.

Her gaze roamed from the top of his head down to his toes, then back up before she answered her own question. “Randy.”

Ding, ding, ding. You won the “Mom of the Year” award for recognizin’ your first-born son.

“Got tall,” she muttered.

“Yeah, no longer twelve.”

“What you doin’ here?”

Great to see you, too, Mom. He jerked up one shoulder. “Just in the neighborhood.”

He loved ice cream.

His mommy knew just how much, too. It was why every time she dragged him to the big building with all the busy stores, and the even bigger parking lot, she bought him an ice cream cone.

Because he’d been a good boy.

He hated this place, but sometimes it was worth going with her just to get his special treat. It had to be a swirl.

He followed his mommy out the doors and into the night, his sticky fingers leaving marks on the glass. His mommy had taught him to look both ways before stepping out into the street so he didn’t get smashed by a car.

This wasn’t really a street, but cars still drove on it. Sometimes really fast.

Most of the time she made him hold her hand so he’d keep up. She told him it was because he got “distracted.” He didn’t understand what she meant.

Tonight her hands were so full with bags, she couldn’t hold his.

One time when she wasn’t holding his hand, he forgot to look. She grabbed his elbow, jerked him back onto the sidewalk, yanked his arm straight up and swatted his butt really hard.

He didn’t like that.

It made him cry.

She cried, too, and tried to hide it. But he saw it and it made him cry more.

He didn’t like when his mommy was sad.

When Daddy left, she cried all the time.

He’d climb into her lap and put his hand on her wet cheeks and ask why she was crying. Did she miss Daddy?

She’d hug him close and never answer him. But the hug felt good, because he missed his daddy, too.

Julian didn’t know what he did wrong to make his daddy never come back. His mommy would tell him he didn’t do anything, but Julian didn’t believe her.

Maybe he’d been bad. Maybe Daddy was mad at him.

Now Daddy was gone, Mommy always brought him with her to this place.

The place with all the people and cars.

The place where he sometimes got spanked, but also got ice cream.

His favorite kind.

He looked both ways again because he couldn’t remember if he already did. Maybe that was what Mommy meant by him being “distracted.”

Sometimes he had to think really, really hard to follow what she said or remember what she taught him, so he wouldn’t get a spanking.

She always said those spankings were for his own good. So, he guessed that was okay.

He wanted to be good for his mommy so she wouldn’t leave, too.

Because if she left, he’d be all alone.

He didn’t want to be alone. Being alone was scary.

If he was alone, no one would talk to him.

Without his mommy, he wouldn’t get any more chocolate and vanilla swirled ice cream.

When he saw no cars coming, he jumped off the sidewalk onto the lane where the cars drove. Where he could be smashed.

He ran to catch up to his mommy.

She was talking on her phone and walking so fast! Why wasn’t she waiting for him?

He couldn’t run and lick his ice cream cone at the same time. He had to walk slowly and be careful.

The ice cream began to drip, so he stopped and licked his hand. When he looked up again, he knew he had to catch up. She’d be mad if he got too far behind.

“Julian, let’s go! It’s late.” She was still walking and talking. She wasn’t waiting for him.

With a last lick of his cone and another lick at another fat milky drop on his hand, he began to run again and his shoelace started to flap. Mommy needed to tie it for him.

“My sneaker—” He stumbled when he stepped on his lace. He almost fell but caught himself so he didn’t skin his knees. It always burned when he did that.

When his arms went out like an airplane to stop from falling, his ice cream cone tumbled from his fingers. His mouth made an O as he watched it plop upside down onto the pavement.

He stared at the mess it made, and his ice cream began to make brown and white octopus legs around the cone as it melted.

His eyes began to sting just like when she spanked him. “I d-dropped my ice cream, M-mommy!”

“Julian! Hurry up!” She sounded mad now.

But he dropped his ice cream! He wasn’t done with it.

With every step his mother took, she got farther and farther away.

She always spent way too long inside the big building. Way too long inside those stores.

Sometimes it wasn’t worth the ice cream.

Like now.

Because he dropped it.

He squatted down and picked up the cone, but none of the ice cream came with it. It was almost all a muddy puddle now. The cone had broken, too.

“Mommy!” A sob bubbled up his chest and he let it out. He didn’t care if anyone thought he was a baby. “Mommy!”
When life takes a turn least expected, you better hang on tight...
When an unexpected delivery lands on Cage’s doorstep, the Blood Fury MC’s Road Captain realizes his future’s about to change. Forever.
He’s not ready to deal with the responsibility life just handed him and isn’t afraid to admit he needs help. Desperately.
The answer to his problem comes in the form of a strong, gorgeous woman he hasn’t seen in over twenty years. Since Jemma’s no longer a kid he can ignore, he must remind himself she’s only there for one reason. And causing problems between him and her brother, the club’s Sergeant at Arms, is definitely not one of them.
With her help, Cage slowly begins adjusting to the new normal his life has become. Until the Shirley Clan does the unthinkable. Now it’s up to him to make sure they regret stealing what’s his. With everything to lose, this will be the most important fight of his life.

He needed to hurry.

Before it was too late.

“Mom! I’m going with you, Mom!” He hiccuped when he tried to hold back a sob.

He didn’t get a response.

Quickly glancing around his room, he made sure he didn’t miss anything important. But his room was a mess. His clothes were scattered on the floor. His sheets a tangled ball in the middle of his unmade bed.

His closet door hung open because he couldn’t close it anymore. He had stuffed it with so much crap. Stuff he thought was important, stuff he thought he needed to keep, but not important enough to pack.

Underwear!

He scrambled over the piles on the floor to get to his dresser and ripped open the top drawer.

Empty.

He scoured the discarded dirty clothes taking up most of the floor space and found a few pairs not too holey or worn, throwing them into the black garbage bag. His eyes then landed on his most treasured possession propped in the corner next to his bed.

He rushed over to it, almost tumbling when his feet caught in a pair of dirty jeans on the way. Without a second thought, he shoved the last item into the bag and decided whatever else he’d need his mother could get him when they got to where they were going.

He had no idea where that was. He just knew they were leaving. And quickly.

His mother had had enough.

And he had no idea where his father was.

Probably at the garage. Or the warehouse. Or Crazy Pete’s.

Or in some other woman’s bed. He’d heard his mother yell at his father about that one too many times.

Something happened tonight, though.

Something she wouldn’t explain.

When she had walked through the front door a little while ago, she shot him and his older brother a frown, shook her head and announced, “You two will end up just like him.”

Right after that, she went into her bedroom. Chris had followed her, wondering why she was so mad.

What had their father done this time?

Or did Randy do something? He was always getting in trouble.

What he found was his mother packing a bag. Emptying her closet and drawers, and throwing everything that wouldn’t fit into that bag onto the bed.

She didn’t even hesitate when she spotted him standing in the doorway, clinging tightly to the frame. “Go get me the box of trash bags under the kitchen sink.”
Sometimes a challenge comes along that can either make or break you...
Deacon has a great life. A loyal brotherhood within the Blood Fury MC. A successful bail bonds business he runs with his cousin, Judge. A faithful dog. He’s also an expert at seducing the ladies. He’s got the looks. He’s got the charm. And he’s got the skill.
Or at least he thought he did. Until he met his match. A woman who not only resists him, but challenges him at every turn.
As an expert bounty hunter, he’s been hired to capture a violent fugitive. Dealing with a dangerous man is one thing, but dealing with a stubborn woman is quite another. And the victim just happens to be her younger sister.
For Deacon, winning over a woman has never been this difficult. The more she fights his “charm,” the more determined he is not to give up. This is one war he can’t afford to lose, not only for her, but with locating the fugitive before he finds his victim.
It’s a challenge he’s willing to take on, as long as it doesn’t destroy him first.
Without a word, his father and mother left him there as they went out to meet the dressed-up woman climbing out of the driver’s side.

They exchanged words Deacon couldn’t hear. Though, he wanted to. He wanted to know what was being said between the three of them and how it would affect him.

His mom had said his Aunt Trixie and Uncle Ox had gotten into trouble and were in jail, so his cousins now had nothing and no one.

Deacon didn’t know much about his aunt and uncle because his mother didn’t want anything to do with her brother and his wife. He’d heard his parents talking about them in the past, and the word “trouble” always came up. Along with some other words he wasn’t allowed to say unless he wanted to be grounded.

So, he didn’t really know his cousins—the ones who no longer had parents to take care of them—even though they hadn’t lived far away at all.

He was only told this morning, while he was eating his Corn Pops, that his cousins, Judd and Jemma, were coming to stay with them.

People, who were practically strangers, were coming to stay in their house.

When his mother told him that, he dropped his spoon into his cereal bowl and splashed milk onto the kitchen table. He quickly used his napkin to clean it up before his father saw it. But Deacon said nothing until he was told he’d have to share his bedroom with Judd.

“What? Why?” How was that fair?

His mother had narrowed her brown eyes on him. “Because they have nowhere else to go except into the system. And we only have three bedrooms in this house. One needs to be for Jemma. That means you’ll have to share yours with Judd.”

“Why can’t they go into the system?” He didn’t want to share his room with anyone else. He didn’t want to share his parents with other kids.

He was happy the way things were.

And, anyway, Judd wasn’t even his age. He was like a million years older. Why would the teenager want to share a bedroom with a ten-year-old?

“Because despite the way my brother lived his life, they are family,” his mother said. “They didn’t choose this, they are victims of circumstance.”

Whatever that meant.

Deacon jutted out his jaw and pounded his fist on the table, making the cereal bowl jump. “But I don’t wanna share my room!”

Deacon’s heart began to thud as his father took three long strides over to him and cuffed him upside the head. “Boy, you have everything. They have nothing. You will share your room, your toys and everything else you have with your cousins. And I don’t want to hear a word about it. They’ve already been through enough and they don’t need to hear you whining like a damn crybaby.”
