As an immortal hunter who walks the line of madness, I’m used to nightmares. I thought my twin brother’s betrayal was the worst one.
I was wrong.
We’re identical in every way, right down to our mating marks. The same mating mark that now dances across Aurora Somerhaul’s beautiful neck. The same Aurora I saved from my brother’s torture. The same Aurora I’m determined to help heal.
And now we don’t know if the mark is mine or his. If it’s Samuel’s, fate tied her to her abuser. If it’s mine, fate chained her to a walking nightmare who’s destined to kill his own brother.
Staying away from her is the best option, but when she needs to feed and only feels comfortable doing so from me, I can’t deny her. She’s the light to my darkness, and her chaotic mind calls to mine like a mirror. She looks at me and doesn’t see a monster.
I don’t deserve her, but I’ll do everything I can to protect her.
Even if that means making the ultimate sacrifice—my life

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

CHAPTER 1

Saint

“Tell me you’ve got something,” I ask the second I step into the war room.

Ransom is behind the keys, checking several monitors and typing at rapid speeds. “Nothing yet,” he says, but he sounds hopeful, because of course he does. His mate and child are safe, and he doesn’t have a mad twin with an agenda dead set on killing everything that matters to him.

I suck in a sharp breath. Fuck, this is not his fault. It’s mine. It’s always been mine.

The reason we went into stasis all those years ago. The second I’d sensed my brother walking that line of bloodmadness, I’d tried to save him from himself. I watched him feed, barely stopping him from murdering every single human he fed from. And when it wasn’t enough, I convinced my hunter brothers to go into stasis, claiming it was me who couldn’t control my hunger. I’d promised our mother on her deathbed that I’d protect her favorite son. Samuel had always been the golden child in our family, but the power of that position turned him into a monster.

I thought going into stasis would soothe his madness and return him to the brother I once knew. The one who wasn’t malicious, calculative, and power hungry. The one who didn’t care about the throne or his proximity to it. The one who always watched over me like I’d watched over him.

Those memories seem like I’m remembering someone else entirely. The brother I knew died a long time ago. And now I need to officially kill the one he’s turned into. The one who got to Aurora. The one who almost killed her. Again.

I rake my fingers through my hair, hating the itch in the back of my mind I can’t scratch.

“Saint,” Alek says my name like he’s approaching a wild animal as he bounds into the room. I get it. I’m used to it. I’ll be the first to admit I’m not the most stable of creatures. I never have been, but I’ve never strayed as far as my twin. You’d think that would count for something.

“I’m sorry,” I manage to force the words out. Anger burns my skin. Samuel had been right here. The scene keeps repeating—his hand around Aurora’s throat, her eyes wide and terrified. Fuck, I need to carve into something. Preferably my twin brother’s heart.

“For what?” Alek asks.

“I didn’t go after him.” I couldn’t go after him. I saw Aurora drop and that was it.

“Saint,” Alek chides me. “You saved Aurora. You never need to apologize for making those kinds of choices.”

I study the king. He means it. He’s a good ruler. I’ve met enough to know that most would’ve rather I captured the threat that’s evaded us for months. One that broke onto our grounds by convincing the Greenbriars to sacrifice half of their coven to tear down the wards. Samuel thought the casualties would be higher. He thought he’d claim the throne. He hadn’t counted on so many mates of the assassins and hunters joining the fight. Hadn’t counted on their strength in duos.

A mistake I know he won’t make again.

“We’ll find him,” Alek assures me. “I know we’re getting close. He’s losing key players at every attack. It’s only a matter of time before he has no one left on his side.”

“Samuel has always had a way of recruiting people to his way of thinking. He’s never alone for long.” There are still a handful of aristocrats wearing the Deveraux seal on their suit jackets and gowns. A fact I know is eating away at our king, even if he won’t admit it.

“We’ll catch him,” Alek says, almost like he needs to convince himself.

I’ll kill him, I silently correct him. There’s no catching him. No imprisoning him. He has to die.

After a quick debriefing with all the hunters and assassins, the war room breaks, and I head up the stairs toward Aurora’s chambers. It’s a nightly habit of mine, to see if she needs me to help her eat or sleep or anything else I can do to make up for what my brother did to her—

Her scream rips through the space above me, and I’m speeding into her room before I can draw my next breath. I skid to a halt at the sight of Annika, Dagon’s mate and Olivia’s niece, standing just outside Aurora’s bathing chamber.

“What’s wrong?” I snap. “Is she hurt?”

“I just got here,” Annika says, eyes wide with worry.

“Aurora,” I plead. “Open the door.”

A million scenarios rush through my mind. It could be residual effects of her trauma, past and present, tearing her mind apart like it did when she first came to the residence, or it could be some aftereffects of an infliction Samuel left upon her after touching her. And after tonight, I can’t be sure someone wasn’t left behind to attack when we’re least expecting it—

Now, the Accession has begun, an ancient cycle of chaos and destiny that reignites old hostilities and forges fated bonds too hot to resist.

A witch queen on the rise defies the brutal wolf king who stands in her way. But when fate twists their battlefield into a bed of temptation, sworn enemies become something far more perilous. Lovers.

A vampire princess trades her crown for freedom, only to be bound to a scarred Berserker, a man whose possessive touch both terrifies and tempts her.

An incubus spy and a cunning vampiress strike a dangerous bargain for survival, and profit, but lust becomes the one gamble neither expected.

Princess Emilia Vlădescu

Crypt Castle, Kingdom of Bloodreach

You shall bear one hundred babes in one hundred years…

The king’s decree rang through the nearly empty court, tolling in Lia’s ears.

“Why?” she choked out. “Why would you curse me like this?” She’d been perfect, dutiful and compliant for all her twenty-two years.

“Curse?” King Neculain leaned back in his throne. “You will ensure the future of our species. Vampires shall revere your name for eons.”

She usually avoided her father’s gaze, but now Lia forced herself to look up through the haze of bloodroot incense that clung to every stone of this castle. It burned her lungs. Or maybe that was fear. “I don’t understand.”

“The Berserkers will war with us this Accession.” He flashed his fangs, red eyes widening. “They must. Many remain just on the cusp of immortality.”

Those bear-spirit warriors earned immortality through slaughter. Killing was prayer to them.

And vampires were their favorite offering—payback long owed, a debt written in arterial spray.

“I can’t fathom why they haven’t already stormed this rich castle.” Neculain cast a disgusted look at his oldest son and heir, Prince Coștin, who stood beside his throne. “Under your watch, the army has faded in number and strength. You think I don’t know what outsiders call you? The General of Nothing! We are the great Horde no longer.”

Coștin rested his hand on the golden sword at his side, his own eyes reddened like banked embers. Though he was a decent swordsman—a rarity—he ruled nothing, not even his own appetites.

And Father wasn’t wrong. Training halls stood empty while the vampires drowned in blood orgies and intoxispells. Even their teleportation had withered, lost to decadence.

But in fairness to her monstrous brother, the rot had festered long before his birth five centuries ago.

Coștin’s attention locked on her again. As he stared, he sliced his tongue on a fang. Eyes promising horror, he hollowed his cheeks and nursed his own blood.

She shuddered. Will I never be free of his threat?

He believed she was his destined Bride. Lia hadn’t awakened his dead heart, but he’d decided she was too young to “blood” him.

Unlike all their fair-haired siblings, she and Coștin resembled each other as closely as fraternal twins—the same pale skin, black hair, and amber eyes, though bloodlust tainted his. Perhaps he’d fixated on her due to her likeness: because his truest obsession had always been himself.

She’d been fourteen when he’d first tried to kiss her. Against her neck, he’d grunted, You are everything to me, sprung from the same womb and seed. As she thrashed, he’d commanded her, Wake my body, soră mea, so I can use it on you.

“When the Berserker attack comes,” Father continued, oblivious, “you’ll be safe in the blood crypt.”

This snapped Lia’s focus from Coștin. “You’re going to…to seal me in?” Deep beneath the castle lay a cave no force could breach, its stone walls weeping endless blood. “For how long?”

“Until the birth of your hundredth. Until our elite army is complete.”

Lia rocked on her feet. Would she be maddened by the twentieth babe? The fiftieth? She’d be only halfway done! “This is insane. Insects have fewer offspring!”

“This is my will. And you shall heed it.”

No courtiers witnessed his decree—only Coștin, Queen Sereth, and the blank-eyed donors that slumped against the wall.

Sereth sat in her throne beside Neculain’s like a soulless doll, smoothing her blond hair.

“Mother,” Lia said, voice breaking, “please, you can’t let him.”

Sereth gave a testy sigh. “He’s the king.”

Blood tears pricked Lia’s eyes. Her mother had been a broodmare too—fourteen children in five hundred years—and had never resisted her fate. Hadn’t even pretended to want more. “Who will accompany me?” Lia demanded of her father, swiping away tears. “Do I get to pick which stud violates me?” She had never dreamed of speaking to him this way, but what did she have to lose?

Irritation crossed Neculain’s sharp features, his black brows knitting. “I will choose noble males. You’ll test the first babe. If it lacks your gift, you’ll mate with another.”

Her cursed “gift” was exactly the reason she shouldn’t be locked in the crypt!

Coștin frowned. So he hadn’t known. Or worse—thought he should be the sire.

Lia told her father, “I’m not yet fixed into my immortal form, can’t even regenerate. Childbirth could kill me.”

“With my lineage, you will be hardy.” He planned to cage and breed his youngest child like an animal, like the blood donors.

Her gaze flicked to them. They donate nothing. Covered in bite marks, the Berserker mortals sagged against the far wall of the court, made docile with intoxicants.

Everyone in her family drank from them except her. Spittoons lined the walls to receive flesh if a bite landed too deep. Which often killed the Berserkers.

Her mother was infamous for those deaths, had reddened her eyes without ever hunting. Some whispered that she dreamed her victims’ bloodborne memories like stolen prayers.
Jo-Anne
Yay! It’s a Friday night, and I’m out on a girl’s night out with my three besties at our local bar, in Hackney. Tequila shots, here I come.
Halfway through, though, my phone rings. Hmmm… an international call. Must be a scammer. Maybe a Nigerian Prince.
But no…
Turns out it’s a fancy New York solicitor. He blows my mind by telling me what I’d believed for the last 26 years of my life was a total lie.
I, Jo-Anne Louise Button, have a father. Apparently, he’s an American and he’s super rich.
But he is dying and he wants to see me before he passes away. Everything has been arranged. All I have to do is agree to see him, and I will be whisked off to America.
I’m too shocked to do anything but agree.
When my father dies, I become the heir to a fabulously large fortune. But collecting it isn’t as simple as it sounds. There is a stipulation.
And the stipulation involves Axel Rhodes. A man who leaves me utterly speechless. Never in my life have I ever met such an arrogant, rude, cold, scowling, smug, infuriating, high and mighty devil.
But my, is he drop dead gorgeous and hotter than hell, or what?

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Chapter

One

JO

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOubzHCUt48

-die young-

O’Malley’s bar is loud and steamy in that way that signifies it’s a Friday night: nobody here intends to wake up without regret. Neon pink lights bleed down the brick walls, making everyone look flushed and guilty. The bass thuds through my head like it’s trying to kill off my last two brain cells, and the air reeks of cheap cologne and alcohol fumes, but if I tilt my head just right, I can almost pretend tonight is a brilliant life choice rather than the beginning of a hangover I’ll be negotiating tomorrow morning.

I’m wedged into a curved leather booth with my three besties. All of us pressed knee to knee, and shouting to be heard over the blaring music. Our table is already cluttered with nearly a dozen empty cocktail glasses.

Fearlessly bubbly Jenny Arnold is to my left. Her blonde hair cascades down her back in artfully casual waves, but I know it required a minimum of forty-five minutes with a curling wand to achieve. She’s wearing a red dress that hugs her curves like it’s in love with her, and I’m ready to bet every man within a ten-foot radius has already clocked her as the babe they’d love to take home. And she is pathologically incapable of not flirting right back. It’s one of her many talents.

Across from me is Serena Mason. Her dark hair is cut close on one side and falls freely in glossy sheets on the other. She’s dressed in black as always, and her combat boots are planted firmly on the sticky floor. A silver necklace rests against her collarbone where a green dragon tattoo peeks out from the inside of her t-shirt and curls around her neck, making her look dangerously sexy.

Next to her is Olivia Green. She’s quiet, which people often mistake for shyness until she opens her mouth and annihilates them. She’s wearing a white slip dress and a brown leather jacket that she has tossed over the back of the booth. Her fiery auburn hair is cut blunt at her shoulders.

And then there’s me, Jo-Anne Louise Button, but everybody calls me Jo. I guess I have nice eyes, but I am the classic wallflower. Pale and nondescript, I can effortlessly and perfectly blend into any background, which I kind of like. It’s fun to be underestimated and then jump out and shock people with my brilliance.

I lift my shot glass and grin around at my friends. “To bad decisions.”

“That turn out to be excellent decisions at the stroke of midnight,” Jenny corrects, clinking her shot glass lightly against mine.

Serena groans. “Why do we have to beat around the bush like this? To all the men with big dicks who know how to use them!”

Olivia raises hers last, her expression solemn. “Oh, fuck it. To orgasms, any fucking way they come.”

Laughing, we throw the shots back. The tequila burns down my throat, the heat sharp and immediate, and I have to suck in a breath and cough.

Jenny slaps my arm. “Oh, come on, lightweight,” she teases. “Your job is restoring seventeenth-century oil paintings with toxic chemicals, and you breathe that just fine, but this is where you draw the line?”

“In my defense I don’t drink the chemicals,” I say hoarsely. “I feel like my esophagus must object on principle alone.”

Serena slides another round of shots into the center of the table, having somehow summoned them without me noticing. “Esophagi are not meant to be seen or heard. Now drink up!”

“How are you not the dictator of a whole country?” I mutter, reaching for my cocktail.

Olivia leans forward, her eyes bright. “You know that guy I told you about? The one from that architecture firm?”

“The one with the eerily symmetrical face?” Jenny asks.

“Yes,” Olivia agrees serenely. “Him.”

Serena smirks. “The one you said looked like he’d cry if you raised your voice?”

“That’s the one,” Olivia confirms. “Anyway, I kind of went on a date with him… and ended up in his place.”

Jenny’s eyes light up. “Ooooh,” she breathes. “Tell us more.”

“To be honest, I wasn’t planning on staying over,” Olivia explains. “I genuinely wasn’t. I just wanted to see if his bookshelves were as pretentious as I suspected they would be.”

“Yeah, right,” Serena scoffs and we laugh, even Olivia.

“And were they?” I ask.

“They were color coded by their emotional impact.”

I choke on my drink. “Noooo.”

Olivia nods sagely. “Yes. Talk about a major red flag. But then, he poured me a glass of wine that cost more than my weekly food budget and did this unusual thing with his eyebrows. One thing led to another, and somehow, I found myself in his bed.”

Serena tilts her head. “All is well that ends well.”

“Well, not exactly,” Olivia says with a grimace. “We were kissing, which was fine. Nice, even. Until his bedside lamp fell over.”
Yield to the allure of Nightfall, the city’s shadowy gathering spot for the chosen.

Dare to receive a glowing white or blood moon stamp that reappears mysteriously to grant entry to the hottest club in town. Warning: The owners are ruthless as they hunt for their mates. And they’re hungry.
Tasked with pinpointing the weaknesses of Nightfall and the nightclub’s employees, Alessia Costa would rather be anywhere else than the mission her vengeful brother has required of her. As his deposable sister, Alessia’s wellbeing depends on gathering the right information. She doesn’t understand the dynamic bartender’s appeal but finds him irresistible.
A charismatic entertainer, Titus has always enjoyed an appreciative audience. Every evening at Nightfall, women flock to his section at the bar. Behind the charm of his smile and the skill of his drink concoctions, a dark side lurks. He will shield his mate from harm with every fiber of his strength. No one will threaten his Little and survive.

Warning: The Nightfall Daddies are possessive, primal, and do not shy from violence. Step into their club with caution. The faint of heart may find their world disturbing

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Chapter

One

Alessia shook herself like a wet dog when she reached the roof overhang, which provided some protection from the rain.

“Whoa! Thanks for nothing,” the young woman behind her groused as she patted the drops that Alessia had flung toward her from her face.

“Oh, sorry. I didn’t think,” Alessia apologized quickly. Everyone else was as soaked as she was.

“I’ll survive. What’s a few more raindrops? Your mascara has run a bit,” her new friend told her as she wiped under her own eyes. “How’s mine? I’m Betsy, by the way.”

“Hi, Betsy. I’m Alessia. Your makeup is great,” Alessia reassured her as she pulled out her phone and checked how badly she looked. “Good lord.” Alessia tried to whisk away the black smudges. Maybe she made them better?

Alessia shook her head in disbelief. Showing up like this, she’d be lucky to get past the bouncer. Ahead, security divided everyone into two lines after checking everyone’s right wrist.

“Do you know what they’re doing up there?” Alessia asked Betsy.

“People who’ve gotten in before have the Nightfall entry stamp.” Betsy rolled up her sleeve and showed off a moon. “Isn’t this glow cool? I’ll get to go straight inside at the door.”

“What happens to me?”

“There’s a welcoming ritual. The owner of Nightfall is drop-dead gorgeous. He greets everyone and leads you through the chant. The sound sent shivers through me. Truthfully, I’d like to experience it one more time,” Betsy told her.

“Ritual? Do I have to do something weird?” An uneasy queasiness in her stomach ramped up into overdrive, but Alessia tried to maintain her cool. She didn’t want them to focus too closely on her or her ID. If they suspected Enzo had sent her or were suspicious about her, they’d turn her away. Her brother controlled the local muscle in the area and had already caused Nightfall problems. She had to get inside.

“No, not really. You repeat the words with the crowd. Then, they give you the stamp. Easy peasy.”

“Oh, good.” Alessia relaxed a bit. Her shoulders settled back into place.

She was almost to the two security guards separating people. Both were monstrous guys. Who would mess with these two?

“Arms, please.” They pushed up their sleeves. The guys sent Betsy to the right.

“That’s it, Marcus,” the younger staff member said to the other man. From his deferential tone, Alessia picked up that the fierce-looking employee, Marcus, was in charge.

Marcus turned to stare at her. His piercing green eyes pierced through to her soul. Alessia froze and immediately put her hands together. “Please! I waited all this time in the rain. Can’t you let me in? I promise I won’t cause any problems. You won’t know I’m here.”

“Sorry, miss. That’s the limit for tonight. You can wait if you want to see if someone gets kicked out.”

Marcus focused past her right shoulder as if someone were talking to him through an earpiece. In a couple of seconds, he shook his head. “This must be your lucky night. Get inside. They’re waiting for you.”

She didn’t hesitate. Racing forward as quickly as her stilettos allowed, Alessia then slid through the doors and found a small bit of space to stand in the crowd. She scanned the packed room, trying to take everything in. Completely devoid of furniture, the decorations inside were simple but striking, giving her the impression of posh surroundings with the unmarred paint, sleek light fixtures, and thick carpeting. The people inside already swayed to the addictive music, facing a large screen in front.

The faint glow of the outside lights disappeared as the door sealed behind her. Could she get back out? An extremely handsome man appeared on the screen, and the hair on her arms rose. Audible inhales sounded around the enclosed space as his presence impacted everyone.

The power radiating from him struck Alessia like a sound wave. She’d seen others react to Enzo’s appearance and understood why they feared her violent brother. She cringed away from him when Enzo was on the warpath. This was different. Studying the magnetic man, she didn’t expect random violence unless she acted against him. His calm confidence assured her he could take care of any threat.

“Welcome to Nightfall. I am Alaric, the owner of this establishment. Only the worthiest may enter. Are you willing to dare the entry requirements?”

“Yessss!” The crowd’s answers blended together. Remembering Betsy’s advice to act like the rest of the attendees, she opened her mouth to agree.

As if Alaric heard her lag a few seconds behind the others, his image on the screen turned to stare straight at her. He couldn’t really see her, right? Alessia held her breath, repeating in her mind, “Please, please, please, don’t throw me out.”

Those around her followed Alaric’s gaze, focusing on her. Alessia stiffened her spine, meeting his scrutiny. Two incredibly long seconds ticked by as she stood frozen in place. Alaric lowered his head in a brief nod.
He collects trash for a living.
Before sunrise, he’s collecting her.

Rook Slater is big, brutal, and permanently grumpy. By day, he’s a garbage man. By night, he plays hockey and keeps the world at arm’s length.

Until the fated mate bond strikes hard and fast. One look at Kylie Moon—right after his twenty-eighth birthday—and destiny snaps into place.

She’s his.

There’s just one problem.

Her blood is rare—coveted—and the monsters in the shadows want to claim her.
Evil. Elite. Powerful. These are the kind of men who stop at nothing to have what they want.

But Rook Slater doesn’t lose what’s his.
And he certainly doesn’t bend the knee.

He’s good at taking out the trash—and these monsters are next.

Once fate locks in, Rook won’t just fight for the woman he loves.
He’ll kidnap and kill for her

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Rook

She tries to scream.

I see it before I hear it—the sharp inhale, the panic flaring in her eyes as her mouth opens and nothing comes out. Her breath goes ragged, and she twists her arm violently in the fucking asshole’s grip.

But his hold tightens around her wrist. His mind—and those of the two suited gofers with him—is very much focused on getting Kylie into their Escalade that’s parked in her driveway. I shouldn’t be able to hear their thoughts, but I can. Because of her.

“Stop, Kylie,” he says, already annoyed. “We don’t have time for this.”

The sound of her name on his lips is the final line crossed. I’m out of the Suburban before Kane can even pull it to a stop and stride up her driveway.

“Take your hand off her.”

The man freezes. All three men do, in fact.

I’ve never seen these men. I don’t know them personally, but I know e-fucking-nough to know exactly who they work for and why they’re here.

“Rook Slater,” the one with eyes so light they look transparent says. “We heard some rumblings. Guess I shouldn’t be surprised to see you here.” A faint smile tugs at his mouth. He’s enjoying this. I will fucking kill him.

“This doesn’t involve you,” the man holding Kylie’s arm spits.

“Yeah,” I say evenly. “It does. Because it involves her.”

“She’s coming with us.”

“No. She’s fucking not.” It’s all I say before I make my move. One second, my hand is empty, and the next, I’m behind him, dragging him back by his neck.

She is mine, motherfucker. And no one touches what’s mine.

His grip on Kylie breaks, and my forearm locks around his throat.

And I don’t hesitate then; I yank. Hard.

There’s a sharp crack beneath my arm, and a wet, choking sound leaves his throat. His body jerks once, then goes slack. I hold him there a second longer, just to be sure.

Then I drop his lifeless body to the ground.

Kylie stumbles back, freed from his hold, and shock steals the strength from her legs.

The one with the creepy transparent eyes lunges, but Kane hits him mid-step—muscle crushing bone and the impact sharp enough to echo off the house. The man collapses in a heap, and Calloway has the third man pinned against the Escalade and is landing punch after punch to his face before the man can even register the instinct to fight back.

It’s fucking vicious and violent, but it’s necessary. And at lightning-quick speed, the speed only men like us can utilize, we ensure all three of these motherfuckers won’t be opening their eyes again.

I turn to Kylie. Her wild and terrified gaze finds mine.

“Kylie,” I say as calmly as I can. “We have to go.”

She shakes her head, her body frozen. “What—”

“Now,” I snap, urgency breaking through. “We have to go now.”

She doesn’t move. At this point, I know there won’t be any talking her down or convincing her with words. I can tell by the stiffness in her posture and the rod in her spine and the panic-shakes of her hands.

But we have to go. We have to get the fuck out of here.

I’m going to have to take her. Whether she wants to go or not.

I close the distance between us, and her feet retreat instinctively toward the garage. It breaks my heart to see her this scared, but I have to do what I have to do.

I’m sorry, Ky. Really, I am.

“Rook,” she pleads. “Please. Don’t.”

I step in, pin her arms to her sides, and lift her over my shoulder. She fights me—kicking, twisting, screaming—but I don’t slow down.

“Rook, no!” she gasps. “Put me down!”

I don’t.

Her heart beats faster as my brothers and I take her toward the Suburban with haste.

She screams and fights and cries, and I grind my jaw against the discomfort without slowing my stride.

In this moment, she believes she’ll die at my hands if she doesn’t escape.

What she doesn’t know is how much she’ll suffer under theirs if she does.

Kylie

Wham.

A face slams against the plexiglass before sliding down dramatically, and the brute who sent the poor soul into it skates away while chuckling to his teammates.
He’ll demolish what stands in the way of her.
Even if it’s an empire.
Calloway Slater is quiet, methodical, and the kind of man who makes his living tearing things apart with steady hands and zero hesitation.
But in the last two weeks, things have taken a dramatic shift.
His brothers are mated.
The Elite Council of Vampires wants them dead.
And their uncle is playing a dangerous game Cal doesn’t trust.
Now, because of an ultimatum, he’s standing at the auction—as a participant.
As vampires gather and naïve human women swoon, Cal races the clock to bring the whole thing down before it’s too late.
But when he meets the eyes of beautiful Romy Spencer in the middle of it all, the bond detonates.
Suddenly, this isn’t about survival.
It’s about her.
And if saving Romy means reducing the elite empire to rubble—or getting killed in the process—so be it.
Because once destiny ignites, Calloway Slater doesn’t surrender.
He destroys.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Calloway

My presence in this room alone makes me feel complicit in an act so evil, it should earn a one-way ticket straight to hell.

A man I barely know sits beside me, watching from the corner of his eye as women are paraded across the room like products in a commercial.

It doesn’t matter that this stranger calls himself my uncle.

It doesn’t matter that his bringing me here may have saved my life.

What matters is the demeaning, objectifying, downright degrading scene that plays out in front of me.

Woman after woman in skimpy lingerie is brought through a door and guided onto a raised platform in the center. White numbers sit in front of them like lots in an estate sale.

Some smile and strut, while others do their best to maintain their composure under the bright, blinding lights.

I sit behind a one-way mirror alongside one hundred other male vampires waiting to place a bid on the woman of their choosing via an iPad system designed to maintain fairness and “order.”

My skin crawls with discomfort and disgust, but to these men, this is normal.

Though, the real match strikes when she completes the line, stepping up to the left side of the platform and squinting into the light.

Auburn hair, black lingerie, and sweet cerulean eyes form a picture built for illicit temptation, met with the men’s cruel indifference to the fear trembling through her body.

And when I see her hands shake, a silent scream begs for freedom from my throat.

She’s not the only reason I’m doing this—far from it.

This is a moral imperative. A change to the way my fellow vampires live and the special relationship we have with humans. This is a reckoning for the good of the world and for the safety of women who’ve been used for years.

This is justice.

This is a revolution.

But she—Romy Spencer—makes it personal.

When I’m done with this place, every one of these monsters will beg for mercy while my brothers and I make sure they burn—no matter what it costs us.

Romy

The dullness of distraction grays my normally cerulean eyes in the big mirror of the Neiman Marcus bathroom as I wash my hands.

Outside the door, my mother waits impatiently to shop for my funeral.

“Romy! Hurry up,” she commands, peeking her head in.

“Okay,” I agree complacently before mumbling my dissent under my breath. “It’s not like it’s a normal bodily function to have to pee or anything.”

Or like it’s not outrageous that we’re celebrating this shit anyway.

It’s not that I’m afraid to stand up for myself—it’s that I’ve been trying that to no avail for far too many years. Truly a futile endeavor at this point.

Snatching two paper towels from the holder and drying my hands, I sidle out of the bathroom with dread.

Of course, my mother has my elbow in hand before the door closes behind us, and we’re on the move again.

We’re closing in on hour three of shopping, and as of yet, she’s not happy with anything. It’s too modest. Too slutty. Too polyester, too pink, too blue, too fricking human.

I tried reminding her that’s what we are, but she wasn’t thrilled with that brush with reality. For her, being called to this assignment is as close as you can get to nobility, and that requires a royal outfit befitting Princess Kate.

“You leave for New York tonight,” she blathers, working herself into a fluster all over again with clout-chasing excitement. “If we don’t find something here, I don’t know what we’ll do.”

“Hey, I know!” I snap excitedly. “I’ll just skip it. I’m too young to die anyway.”

“Romy Spencer, stop it right now,” she barks. “Stop complaining about this privilege and belittling the process that’s been very important to our family for generations. And for the love of God, stop referring to it as your funeral. You’re on my last nerve with that one.” She lets out a long sigh. “Let’s not forget that, despite my better judgment, I let you skip the Choosing Mixer.”
She was never theirs to claim. She’s his.
And the repo man is here to collect.
Kane Slater is a blue-collar vampire with a killer smile, easy wit, and just enough charm to make you forget how dangerous he can be. But charm doesn’t buy entry into the elite’s masked gala— in fact, they think he’s better off dead.
But with his brothers’ lives on the line, he sneaks inside anyway—and finds his fated mate on display.
Her blood, valuable. Her future, sold.
Unfortunately for him, Blair Windsor’s been raised to believe that the vampire elite’s auction is a glittering fairy tale.
Kane knows better.
If Blair goes to auction, the life she’s dreamed of will be replaced by a nightmare.
So he does what he does best.
He reclaims what was never rightfully theirs.
Starting with her

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Blair

The vampire with the green eyes is the handsomest one.

Obviously. Duh.

He’s not the tallest one in my new doll set—that one has dark hair and a scar painted across his cheek like he’s a scary fighter or something—but he’s the one I like best. His hair is a soft yellowish color, and his eyes are a funny kind of green that look kind of purple if you tilt him just right.

I like to tilt him a lot.

I am nine years old today, which means I’m officially old enough to stay up later than my little sister Bonnie and pick my own cake. I like strawberry with vanilla buttercream. It’s the best cake in the whole wide world.

Mommy and Daddy gave me this doll set during my birthday party this afternoon. It was a big party—more big than last year—with lots of my mommy and daddy’s friends. And very important people too. At least, that’s what my mommy told me. She said some of Daddy’s important businesspeople came to celebrate with me because I’m such a special girl.

And I like when Daddy’s important people come because they always bring the biggest, most fancy gifts.

I wore a pretty pink dress and white shiny shoes. My mommy said my dress costed a lot of moneys and that she got it at a really fancy store. I think it’s called Channel? I don’t know, but it’s my mommy’s favorite store.

Anyway, my party was huge, and I got to open so many gifts.

My daddy is an important businessman. I don’t know what his business is, but my mommy says it’s very important. My mommy doesn’t have a job, but she’s too busy to have a job. That’s why me and my baby sister Bonnie spend so much time with our nanny Celeste.

My nanny Celeste is the best. She’s—

I hear footsteps near my door.

Oh no! I’m supposed to be asleep!

I dive under my blankets and pretend I’m sleeping.

And I wait and wait and wait there under my blankets until my warm breath starts to make me all itchy and sweaty.

But when Mommy or Daddy or Nanny Celeste doesn’t knock on my door, I push my blankets off my face and let out a big, deep breath. Holy moly, it was getting hot under there.

I turn on my night-light by my bed and sit up again.

And I line my vampire dolls back up so I can look at them all.

Yep. The vampire doll with the green eyes is definitely the most handsome.

He’s my favorite.

I pick him up and hold him in my right hand, and then I pick up the human girl doll with “Blair” embroidered on the dress in pretty pink letters with my left. Blair is my name, and this doll is supposed to be me. My Blair doll’s dress is white but also kind of yellowish. I think my mommy calls the color creamy.

It reminds me of a dress Mommy keeps in her closet in a big box with tissue paper all around it. It’s the dress she wore when she married Daddy.

I press the doll’s faces close together. “You’ve been chosen,” I say in my deepest, most serious voice, making the vampire doll talk.

The Blair doll gasps. I make her gasp. “Chosen?” I make her whisper.

“Yes,” I answer for him. “Your mommy and daddy said you’re a special girl.”

“Why am I special?”

“Because of your blood.”

My mommy told me that I’m getting old enough now to learn more big-girl things, and that was one of the things she told me when she was talking to me about secret stuff I’m not supposed to talk about.

But I have blood inside my body. Every human does. But my blood is good blood. Vampires like my blood a lot. It makes me special.

Mommy says they found out about my blood when I was a baby. And some of my daddy’s most important friends know about it too.

Good blood is a very special gift, my mommy says.

My daddy and my mommy aren’t vampires. They’re humans like me. But my mommy says that I am so special because of my special blood that I will be chosen by one of the most important, strongest, most special vampire boys when I’m a grown-up girl.
