Karlee finally landed a job that could put her little floral business on the map. Luck has never been on her side, so she should have known it was too good to be true. When the groom starts hitting on her, her conscience won't let her keep the contract for the wedding of the year. She may be broke, but she still can't be bought.Robert Black may have more money than he knows what to do with, but there's one thing he doesn't have—Karlee Jones. He's determined to prove to the young enterpreneur that he has more on his mind than a one-night stand. Before he can convince her of anything, he'll have to keep her from running.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Chapter One

Karlee

Karlee reached blindly between the manicured shrubs in search of her cell phone. The thorns from the rosebush scraped her bare arm as she pulled back. Fuck.

“Tell me why I’m doing this again?” She hoisted the oversized bags of samples back over her shoulder while balancing her phone between her chin and shoulder. Karlee continued down the long, winding walkway with the midafternoon sun beating down on her, and she knew the humidity had done a number on her hair.

“Because you’re one missed rental payment away from bankruptcy,” said Stella.

“Thanks, but I was looking for something a little more inspiring.”

The mansion came into view around the next bend in the path. Karlee nearly dropped her cell phone again. It was a modern-day palace lifted straight from one of her childhood fairy-tale books.

Stella’s voice kept breaking up. The reception this far from the city was proving unreliable at best. “What’s more inspiring than that? Just do what you do best, and you’ll be fine.”

The sheer size of the property brought her nerves and doubts to the surface. “I don’t know, Stella. This job might be too much.” She exhaled, questioning her decision to become the florist for such a massive wedding. The dollar signs had been too tempting to turn down when she was only a breath away from losing her flower shop. She still didn’t understand why they hadn’t called one of the big names in the industry. Karlee’s little business wasn’t even on the map, and she hadn’t updated her website in too many months to count. What if she couldn’t handle it? “I never should have agreed to take it.”

“Stop it. If you need extra help, you know where I am. Now, woman up and make this deal happen. The next time you call me, I want to hear your good news.”

“You’re right. I have to do this. I don’t exactly have a choice.” After saying goodbye, she stuffed her cell into her purse. It was time for her poker face. They didn’t need to know the nitty-gritty of her situation, just that she could come through for them.

Her heels clicked on the slate tiles as she walked up the main stairs to the house. The double doors on the wraparound porch were decorated with intricately carved glass inserts. Everything screamed money. Part of her already hated the well-to-do couple who got to live in this piece of paradise, but it was just her own jealously bubbling up. Karlee wanted to be the one to wake up like a princess every day, but Cinderella stories were fiction and didn’t come true for real women like her.

She swallowed hard before tentatively pressing the doorbell encased within a brass lion’s head, which seemed like a bit of overkill. Within seconds, one of the doors flung open, exposing a melee of commotion inside a grand foyer. It was a stark contrast from the peace and serenity of the gardens and fields surrounding the house.

Rather than a butler with the black suit and white hair she imagined, a beautiful woman with long waves of brown hair and a tight red dress stared back at her.

She was momentarily at a loss for words, feeling completely out of her element. “Hi.” Back in the city she lived in the modest bachelorette apartment above the store she rented. Designer clothing and upscale home decor were not in her wheelhouse. Compared to this woman, she felt short, frumpy, and very out of place. “I’m Karlee from the flower shop.”

“Thank God! Come in.”

Karlee followed her across the white marble floors. There were people everywhere—a small construction crew in the midst of removing a wall, and a woman who appeared to be the wedding planner conversing with chefs, maids, and designers.

They didn’t stop until they reached the rear of the home. The woman pushed open a set of French doors and stepped out onto a large open deck. There were already white tents placed out back and an elaborate arch where the vows would likely take place. She could envision green vines and white lilies entwined around the wrought iron. Her imagination was already on overdrive.

“This is where it’ll happen. I only get one chance to make this right, so it must be absolutely perfect.” She turned around to face Karlee. The sun highlighted her blue eyes and the delicate lines at the corners of her eyes. She’d make a beautiful bride.

“I’ll do my best.”

No pressure.

She smiled, taking an audible cleansing breath. “I’m sorry. Where are my manners? My name’s Elizabeth. As you can see, things are a bit crazy around here lately.” After shaking hands, she pointed to the wedding planner at the end of the long hallway back beyond the open French doors. “Robert asked for you personally. Isabel’s not too happy about not making the choice, but ignore her. She’s all bark.”
Clara has had a crush on her best friend's dad for years. She wishes she could get him out of her head, but Grayson Blackwell invades her every thought. The fact he's a bully, rude, and dismissive doesn't turn her off. It only fuels her desire to get his attention.Grayson's more than twice Clara's age, not to mention she's his daughter's best friend. Any intimate entanglement would cross too many lines to count. The facts don't seem to cool his desire for the young, curvy blonde. He decides to make a secret deal with her, one he hopes will help him end his obsession. It starts with a contract, but things get messy once emotions get involved. Can they make their taboo relationship work or will it pull their lives apart?

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Chapter One

Clara felt torn down the middle.

She’d parked in front of her best friend’s house ten minutes ago, but instead of browsing on her phone to kill the time, she was focused on the office window. April’s father was sitting at his desk. She wished she had a better view, only able to make out one strong shoulder, the muscles straining under the fabric. He’d brush his too-long bangs off his face occasionally, focused on his work.

Clara had had a secret crush on Grayson Blackwell since she was eighteen. That’s when she’d started college with April. Since day one, he’d hated her. Nothing she did helped to warm him up to the fact she was his daughter’s best friend.

Maybe it was all for the best. April would never approve if she knew the filthy things flitting in Clara’s head. It was so unlike her, but there was just something about Grayson that made her melt into a puddle.

She wanted to stop pining for an older man who wanted nothing to do with her. Clara needed to focus on college and forget about Grayson, his glares, and snide comments. To move on with her life.

Easier said than done.

“Sorry I’m late.” April dropped down in the passenger seat of the car, pulling her backpack and giant water bottle in as she struggled to grab the seat belt. “I need to get more organized.”

“It’s okay.” Clara took one more look at Grayson before backing out of the driveway.

They drove down the street lined with houses that looked more like mansions. The lawns were sprawling and meticulously cared for. April still hadn’t seen where Clara lived. She’d always have an excuse to avoid a visit. It’s not that she was embarrassed, but she didn’t want her friend to judge her for living in the worst end of the city. April had the best of everything handed to her. Clara had to work for the little she had.

“Wow, we chose a good time to come,” April said as they pulled into the gym’s parking lot. It was practically empty.

There was a note on the front doors, so they drove close enough to read it.

“The power’s out. Great,” Clara said. “I was hyped up to get started, too.”

They’d been talking about going to the gym forever. Maybe she wasn’t meant to get in shape.

“No problem, we’ll just go to my place. I told you we didn’t need to come here. My dad has an incredible setup.”

“I have a free pass,” Clara said.

“Only for a week. My gym is free 24/7.”

Clara dreaded going to April’s house because her father made her feel so unwelcome. She doubted her friend even noticed how horribly he treated her. And she didn’t want to create any problems for them. It was bad enough April didn’t have a mother.

“Okay. Fine.”

She headed back toward April’s house in the suburbs, her nerves on high alert. And something more she didn’t want to acknowledge.

“I got beautified for nothing.” April checked out her makeup in the passenger seat mirror. “I was ready to find myself some muscled stud.”

“No, you weren’t.” Clara giggled. “Besides, you’ll be all sweaty. The gym is the worst place to pick up a guy.”

April shrugged, leaning back in her seat. “I need a boyfriend asap. Dad’s having some fancy get-together at our place next month.”

“What about Rob? Or Josh?”

“Meh. They’re not boyfriend material.”

“Don’t worry. You have plenty of time to find Mr. Right,” Clara said. “You’re only twenty-one.”

“That’s you, Clara. I’m almost twenty-three. Twenty-three!” Her friend dramatically draped her arm over her eyes as they pulled into the driveway. She’d finished school a year ago. Clara was in her last semester before graduation.

As they walked up the path to the front doors, she noticed Grayson Blackwell was no longer sitting at his desk. Her heart sank.

“Let me put this shit away,” April said. “I’ll meet you in the basement.”

Within seconds she was standing alone in the massive foyer. She was surrounded by white marble in every direction. It was like standing in a castle.

It was too quiet.

She made her way to the basement door. They’d been friends for over three years now, so she knew where almost everything was.

Clara was terrified to run into Grayson alone. And terrified not to.

She scrubbed a hand down her face, wishing she wasn’t so infatuated. It was ruining her life. While April needed more than ten fingers to count her conquests, Clara was still a virgin. She’d never dated, never even looked at boys her age, because her heart was set on an older man who was completely off limits. She was an idiot.

“Sneaking around?”

She gasped, whirling to the side to face the deeply masculine voice. It was him—Grayson Blackwell. He was leaning against a pillar watching her. Why did he have to look so drool-worthy?

“Just going to the gym.”
Skye witnesses a double murder and is forced to run for her life. She doesn't know how she'll survive, but she'll do anything to live another day. When contracts are taken out on her life, her only hope is a rival assassin determined to use her as collateral. It's not the best situation but at least she's safe for now. Things get immeasurably more complicated when she starts to fall for her captor.

Galen King kills for a living, but it's nothing personal. He works for the Circle of Monsters, a group of ruthless contract hitmen. They do their job, no questions asked, and emotions never get in the way. Each hit is another payday until he has Skye Lewis in his sights—then nothing is the same.

Can he change the rules and keep Skye alive? Or will his boss demand he follow orders or pay the ultimate price?

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Chapter One

Galen King looked through his binoculars and caught sight of his target through the hotel window. She was a small thing, at least compared to him. To some she might have been considered fat, but he liked his women on the plump side. Her flaming red hair called to him first. It was a deep red, not something out of a bottle.

Looking away, he pulled out his cell phone with the necessary details. The moment this hit was completed, he’d destroy all evidence. That was part of his job. He was one of the exclusive members of the Circle of Monsters. Known assassins who weren’t afraid to get their hands dirty, unlike their counterparts, Killer of Kings.

For this hit, all he’d been sent was the woman’s basic details, the location, and when he was to end her life. Skye Lewis never had a chance, not when the Monsters got involved. He didn’t care that she was female. Some men might, but he knew women could be just as vile and disgusting as men.

The curtain twitched and her head appeared, looking left and right. Even from where he stood, he saw the fear in her eyes.

It was a shame she had to die. He could imagine spending a great deal of private time with her. That body was made to be fucked. And only twenty-five years old. He didn’t care what she’d done. The bounty on her head was quite extensive. Someone wanted her dead, and fast, because they were willing to part with three million cash. All the better for Galen.

All he had to do now was make the decision. Did he make the shot here or go to her hotel room? Would she answer the door? Would she scream? As he was making the decision, lining up his rifle to see if he could get a nice crisp shot, his cell phone vibrated.

“Yes,” he said, putting the cell to his ear.

“The terms have changed,” Viko Fedorov said.

Galen didn’t look away from his target. This never happened. Details of a hit never changed once he got the all clear. What if he’d already pulled the fucking trigger?

“Not good enough,” Galen said. “I can take the hit right now.”

“Then you’ll be doing it for nothing,” Viko said. “The money is fake. I have it in my office right now. She will be worth more to us alive.”

He didn’t like this. Killing her now would be ideal.

“I can take the shot.”

“Listen to me carefully. Take the shot, and you won’t get paid. Something’s going down.” He heard rustling on the line. “Petrov already has guys on the way to kill her.”

Galen frowned. “That makes no sense. Why hire us?”

“He’s playing us. There’s no money, and believe me, I’m fucking pissed about it.”

If Viko was pissed, then Petrov would soon be wishing for a quick death. No one got away with manipulating their boss. There was a reason Viko was the head of the Circle of Monsters. The bastard had more kills under his belt than anyone Galen had ever known—real or fictional.

There was so much about Viko they didn’t know. The only solid piece of information to go on was that money talked—a lot of it. They all had a price and Viko’s had to have a lot of ones and zeros before he lifted a finger.

“So what now?”

“Extraction. Bring her to me, and be warned, the people on the way to kill her might attempt to take you out.”

Galen couldn’t help but scoff.

“If that was a laugh, I recommend you not do it again,” Viko said, and hung up.

Well, it went from being the clean-cut kill that he loved, to one that was dirty and pissed him off.

He quickly disassembled his rifle, put all the necessary pieces away, stashed it in his bag, and threw it over his shoulder. Making his way out of the abandoned building, he hummed to himself as he joined the flood of people on the street below, mingling in.

A few people chanced a glance at him, but one look at his face, with the gnarly scar down his right cheek, and they soon turned away. Some women were not upset by his looks. The ink on his thick arms, not to mention the expensive watch covering his wrist, always had a magic way with the bitches.

Money talked.

He had a lot of it.

Galen liked nice things.

And he was prepared to do whatever it took to get those nice things. He’d been killing since he was fourteen years old. It was an easy profession. His parents had died when he was young, and he’d ended up in the foster care system. Maybe that was where his conscience died.

His first kill had been a foster mom who had been too handsy and liked to use her belt. One of the girls in the home with him had to entertain the male guests, and if she caused a scene while they were filming the rape, the woman would beat her to within an inch of her life.
Tank's bigger and badder than most of the bikers at the Straight to Hell MC. He's used to being feared by everyone—then there's Bell. The curvy blonde waitress doesn't move out of his way. For some reason, she sees the best in him, never judging him for his past or present. Her sweet love and innocence become addicting. It's nice not being the monster for once. But she has a tangled past that his prez doesn't like. Tank's faced with an impossible choice—love or his club.

Bell doesn't want to end up with a loser like her deadbeat mother. She wants to make something out of her life, even though it's easier said than done. Tank's a big teddy bear and doesn't even realize it. He's caring and protective and even though she shouldn't fall for a bad boy, it's impossible to keep away from him. The only problem is her boyfriend is keeping her a secret, and secrets are never a good thing. Will he decide to put her first or will their love stay a forbidden affair?

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Chapter One

The open road called to him.

Tank revved his engine, winding around the dirty road, feeling the freedom of being on his bike. He wasn’t wearing a helmet, he never did. There was nothing free about wearing something on his head when all he wanted to do was feel the wind in his hair. Not that he had it long. He couldn’t stand long hair, and he much preferred it short. It was far easier to keep clean.

Back at the Straight to Hell MC clubhouse, a party was going on. Normally, he liked to pick up some willing pussy and party until he couldn’t remember his own name, but that didn’t hold any appeal to him right now.

There was nothing enjoyable about a woman who didn’t know who she was screaming for. He was clearly getting way too old. What kind of man was he when a woman riding his cock didn’t hold any appeal? If the guys could see him now, they’d be laughing their asses off. Not Lord or Brick. Those men had found women. He still couldn’t believe their club president and VP had found … love.

They were not the kind of guys to settle down. They were the ones to fuck and leave a trail of women. Fortunately, they all bagged their dicks, otherwise, there would have been a herd of kids. As it happened, there were just scorned women.

He’d noticed Rancher had also started to turn back up at the clubhouse. The ex-biker had left the clubhouse to marry, raise a family, and work on a ranch, but since Lord had asked for his help with Ally, Rancher had started to visit.

Tank got it. The call of the club was too strong. Thinking you could live without this life was a fool’s thought. There was no way anyone was stepping back from this life. Not for a second.

Unless he fell for a club woman, there was no one for him.

Tank brought his bike to a stop at the edge of the road that looked across the town and forests. He loved to get high up even though he was only an hour away from the clubhouse.

Life had seemed kind of easy for the past couple of months. He didn’t like an easy life. It always had a way of throwing a whole heaping pile of shit right in his lap.

The rest of the club was happy for it. They partied harder. Enjoyed life.

Tank wasn’t like that. He liked to be ready for whatever was coming his way.

Straight to Hell MC had a lot of enemies, and something big was coming. He didn’t know what, but he wanted to be ready.

He took a deep breath, inhaling the fumes from his bike as well as some modicum of fresh air, kicked off, and headed back toward his clubhouse.

The drive no longer settled him, and he didn’t like it. Maybe he was having a mid-life crisis. Or completely losing his mind after one too many benders.

Tank didn’t think he was the kind of guy to have a sixth sense, but something wasn’t sitting well with him. Maybe it was the Skull Nation, their closest enemy. Or maybe it was something else.

He slowed down his bike as he caught sight of a figure at the side of the road. Squinting to see, Tank slowed down when he saw a woman. Was she drunk?

She didn’t appear to be losing her footing, and she walked in a straight line. Definitely not drunk.

Tank made out a pair of jeans, and she was clearly wearing a large shirt as it came down to her ass. She had long blonde hair that she’d left down in waves. There was a bag high on one shoulder.

All of this in one quick glance.

He slowed his bike down to a slow crawl, and the woman in question stopped and turned toward him.

“I have pepper spray,” she said, holding her hands around a can.

Tank stopped his bike, turned off the ignition, and held his hands up. “I’m not here to hurt you.”

“Then why did you stop?” she asked. “I’m not taking up any room on the road.”

“It’s not safe for a woman to be walking down this road all by herself.”

She chuckled. “Why? Because of the clubhouse I’m going to be passing?” she asked.

Tank frowned. He was used to normal, civilian women being afraid of the club. She’d already spotted his leather cut, showing he was a member of said club. He wore his leather cut with pride. He’d earned his patch and then some.

“Are you stupid?” he asked.

She laughed.

“Drunk?”

The laughter stopped. “No, I’m not drunk, and I don’t have to listen to you insult me. I pass this club every other day, and besides a few whistles, they’re like giant teddy bears.”

This did make him burst out laughing. He just couldn’t help it. There was no way the guys would accept her calling them all teddy bears. Not with the shit they did on a daily basis.
Cleo Bennet didn’t realize her entire life was about to turn upside down after taking an extra shift at work. She witnesses a grizzly murder only to be kidnapped by the deadliest man alive. But her captor is anything but evil. He cares for her, puts up with her quirks, and she soon can’t imagine life without him. Her enemy becomes her lover, and he’s determined to keep her safe when she gets caught up in his world of life and death.

Can they find love and acceptance in each other or is Priest already a lost cause?

Books by Author:

Sam Crescent, Stacey Espino

Chapter One

Priest lifted the edge of his sleeve and checked his watch. Things were about to go down in four minutes and seventeen seconds. His jobs were meticulous. He’d been staking out this hotel for the past six days, and today he’d get the job done.

Boss had strict instructions for this hit.

He expected Priest to make an example of Marcus Olivieri, to send a message to the rest of the mafia family not to conduct business in their city. They were into human trafficking and prostitution rings, and Boss wouldn’t tolerate it. Neither would Priest.

His legs were cramping up from his crouched position, but he had the perfect vantage point to see the asshole getting off the elevator. He checked the sights on his 9mm, loving the feel of the cool metal in his palm. Priest could still remember the first day he held one, nineteen years ago. The weeks following had been a blur.

He was a different person today than he’d been all those years ago.

Keeping his mind in the present was the only way to ensure his sanity.

One minute and thirty-three seconds.

This contract was going smoothly. Too smoothly. As soon as the fucking maid began pushing her cleaning cart down the hallway, Priest checked his watch again.

“Fuck.”

Any second and his target would be stepping off the elevator with the barely seventeen-year-old girl he planned to force into their prostitution ring. He’d fuck her, beat her close to death, pump her full of drugs, and then send her to their whorehouse for grooming.

As soon as the maid swiped her keycard on the room where he planned to carry out this hit, he ground his teeth down hard, his mind going through all the possible scenarios. He didn’t want an innocent to get killed on his watch, but that bitch had some bad timing.

The elevator door opened with a ding, and an obscenely drunk young woman stumbled out, attempting to hang off his target. She giggled as he led her to his hotel room. Why was the maid in the room? The room had already been rented and pre-paid for two weeks. It had been cleaned at 9:44 that morning, so there was no fucking reason for the maid to be there. The maid assigned to this end of the floor tonight wasn’t even a blonde.

Once he heard the door close, he stood up and kept tight to the wall as he moved in closer to room number 4423. He kicked open the door as planned, his pistol in his outstretched hand. Priest scanned the room. The girl was already crashed on the bed, the bastard unbuckling his belt. The man froze in place with the red dot dead centered on his forehead. Where the fuck was the maid? He’d watched her come into the room, and her cart was still just outside in the hallway.

Whatever. This contract needed to be finished or Boss would be on his case tonight.

“You like little girls, motherfucker?”

Marcus shrugged nonchalantly, so Priest brought him down to size with a bullet to the kneecap. His screams were much louder than the shot with his silencer securely in place.

“Shut the fuck up.” He moved in close and stripped him of all his weapons and his cell phone. “Take off your clothes.”

He kept his gun in his target’s direction as he did a rough search of the luxury room. Marcus wasn’t going anywhere, too busy bleeding on the carpet. Where was the maid? He couldn’t leave a witness behind. Killer of Kings demanded every hit be clean. And he wouldn’t let Boss down, not after he’d saved Priest from self-destruction almost a decade ago.

She was nowhere to be found. He even checked under the bed.

Priest returned to Marcus Olivieri. He was in his underwear, not looking too suave now with snot leaking down his face. The man whimpered and begged for his life like a little bitch, but he wasn’t leaving this room alive regardless.

“Underwear too. Then get on the bed.”

The girl had passed out. Priest grabbed her by the ankle and yanked her unceremoniously off the bed. She barely came to. He reached down to the ground and pulled her up to her feet by the back of her hair. “Go home to your mother. Understand? Stop drinking. Don’t talk to fucking strangers.”

She nodded repeatedly. He opened the room door and shoved her out into the hall where she fell to her knees. Then he tossed a wad of bills from his pocket onto the carpet outside. “Go home!”

Once alone in the room with Marcus again, he went to work, slitting the man’s throat to shut him up. Priest held his palm to Marcus’s chest to keep him from thrashing as the blood drained from his body. Then he reached down and cut off his balls in one clean stroke, shoving them into Marcus’s mouth. When his men found him, one of their high-ranking soldiers, it would send a message loud and clear not to fuck with Killer of Kings. Boss was systematically bringing down their numbers one by one.
Rose Henshaw was content working as a basement level accountant. It didn't matter if she wanted more out of life because the cards had been stacked against her since she was born. So she resolved to survive week to week, existing with the small hope of climbing the ladder at work. When she's unexpectedly offered the sought-after position as the CEO's personal assistant, she's as much thrilled as suspicious of the promotion. Besides, how can she get any work done when her boss is absolutely drool-worthy and constantly pushing her buttons?

Darius Blackwood is ready to trade his bachelor status after just one look at Rose. She's excellent with children and makes him think about crazy things like building a family of his own, complete with heirs to take over his empire. But he's just hired her as his PA and isn't sure he should cross that taboo boundary of indulging in an office romance. How long can he work with Rose underfoot while keeping his desires locked away? Can these two broken souls find love and security with each other or is a relationship destined for failure?

Books by Author:

Sam Crescent, Stacey Espino

Chapter One

Just thinking of the name Darius Blackwood made her anxiety flare up. How was she supposed to ask him for a promotion? She’d been an entry-level accountant in his company for four years, and she was going nowhere fast. At the very least, she hoped she’d be something above a junior account by now. She didn’t have an office or a title. She was nobody.

Rose stood in front of the elevator, staring at the console. She was too scared to push the button that would bring her to the penthouse suite of the massive skyscraper. Part of her wasn’t even sure she’d get to see her boss at all since there was a network of subordinate managers and supervisors who dealt with all his dirty work.

A couple of kids raced after each other down the hall. It had been like that all day. It was “take your kids to work” day, and it seemed like everyone decided to take part this year. A woman in a tight skirt suit attempted to run after the two children, a stack of papers cradled in her arms. It was almost comical.

After another deep breath, she went through with it and stepped on the elevator. Within seconds, she was being whisked up, up, up. When she arrived on the penthouse floor, she held her breath as she stepped off. Rose had never been up here. Not many had. It was only talked about, like some fictional realm, but the stories were true. Everything exuded luxury, from the art on the walls to the light fixtures. She looked around in awe, trying to take in all the sights at once.

“Can I help you?” A man in a dark suit and pink tie rushed quickly in her direction.

Rose was still standing in the same spot, too starstruck by the lobby to move. “I’d like to see Mr. Blackwood.”

He lifted one eyebrow. “Do you have an appointment?”

“I work here. I just need a few words with him.”

“He doesn’t do walk-ins. If you work here, you should speak to the manager in your department. Mr. Blackwood doesn’t have time to deal with employee matters.”

She bit her bottom lip. Part of her knew something like this would happen. What did she expect? They’d usher her in and offer her an overpriced water with a lime wedge? She felt like an idiot.

“Elliot, get back here!” The secretary sitting at the massive crescent-shaped reception desk in front of them stood up and took pursuit. She was just in time to grab the sleeve of a little boy who looked to be around three years old. He laughed and tried to tug away from her. He had rosy, red cheeks, and bright blue eyes. Rose loved children but never expected to have any of her own. She was twenty-nine years old with no prospects. And she was pretty sure single virgins couldn’t have children.

Elliot started to have a classic meltdown as the secretary attempted to haul him back toward a rear office.

The entire building was complete chaos. Fortunately, this day only came once a year.

She was still watching the little boy when the man beside her cleared his throat. “Miss, you’ll have to leave.”

“Oh, right. Sorry.”

She had no plans of talking to her manager—again. For some reason, the older woman couldn’t stand her and never gave her any slack. A promotion was the last thing she’d get approved. It didn’t matter how much she killed it in the office, there was no chance to get ahead. It was disheartening, to say the least.

Just then, the little hellion ran toward the elevators with two women chasing after him. Rose bent down as Elliot neared, opening her arms wide. This seemed to distract the little boy. She smiled at him and winked. “I like your shirt. Are dump trucks your favorite?”

He peered down and pointed to the red truck over his stomach.

“What color is that?”

The little boy visibly calmed. “Red. That one blue.”

“That’s right. You’re such a smart boy. Do you like to play with cars and trucks?”

He took her hand and attempted to lead her deeper into the main office. She’d always had a way with kids, and she hoped she’d get to be a mother herself one day. At twenty-nine, those days were getting fewer and fewer.

Once she stood up straight, she noticed a man standing nearby, his arms crossed over his chest. For a moment, she was taken aback by his commanding presence. Then she froze in place when she realized it was actually Mr. Blackwood in the flesh.

Rose had seen some grainy photos in the hallways from old company events. For some reason, she expected him to have aged much more than he had. As discreetly as possible, she took him in from head to toe. His black hair had a light sprinkling of gray, but only on closer inspection. And his eyes were as dark as onyx.
Gabe isn't ready to trust anyone, certainly not a live-in housekeeper with a questionable past. His best friends, Vinny and Archie, insist the curvy redhead is the answer to all their problems. They fall too hard and too fast, and the last thing he wants is for Annalise to break their hearts.

Annalise is hiding from her dark past, trying her best to make her own way in life. Being a live-in housekeeper and cook for three single cowboys should have made her leery, but everything about her new job feels like fate. Her employers are perfect gentlemen—until they aren't. She can't refuse their attention, but her mind and heart are in disagreement. How can a menage a quatre ever work long term? And why would three of the hardest, sexiest cowboys settle for only one woman?

It doesn't take long for hearts and tempers to burn hot on the ranch. Once they give into their passion, their foursome becomes an addiction. But can three dominant cowboys share the woman they love? Or will Annalise tear their friendship apart?

Books by Author:

Sam Crescent, Stacey Espino

Chapter One

“There isn’t anyone you haven’t pushed away or scared off,” Archie Wales said.

Gabe Cartwright stood up, tired of being singled out. He wiped the sweat from his brow with his sleeve. There wasn’t even a breeze to kill the heat. He looked at his friends and roommates, Archie and Vinny. They had all argued for many weeks about hiring a housekeeper. Personally, he didn’t want a fucking stranger walking around their house or anywhere near their shit. He worked hard for everything he had, and he did not trust easily.

“What are you babbling on about now?” He didn’t have time for this. There was too much to get done on a working farm without arguing about nonsense. Already, he noticed another fence that required mending, and they had orders that needed to be filled before sundown.

For so long, Archie and Vinny had been after him about hiring a housekeeper. It still hadn’t happened. Most of the people who previously applied were only after easy work. He had yet to hire anyone he could trust.

“Well, we have a winner, thank you very much. The pretty little Annalise has applied, and she also brought tester cookies. Not even you can disagree with this pick.” Archie held up a single cookie, and Gabe couldn’t argue. They did look tasty, but he wasn’t easily swayed by food.

He was the current cook on the ranch, and the boys were used to one thing, steak and potatoes. That was all. He didn’t need to learn to cook anything else.

“Come on, man, you have got to try these. They’re so good. They’re going to give you wet dreams.”

“Not happening,” he said, bending down to fork the straw from one pile to another. He noticed out of the three of them, he was the only one working. “If you want to get this job done today, and get an early night, hurry up.”

Vinny chose that moment to laugh. “Come on, we work our asses off all the time. And you’re the one working harder than anyone else—cleaning, cooking. It’s work you don’t need to do. We can afford to hire, Gabe.”

“We’ve got up to five ranch hands already.”

Gabe knew they were well off. After all their hard work, ranching was finally turning a profit, a pretty healthy one, but he wasn’t about to tell the guys it was because of a few investments on the stock markets that had kept this place open.

He, Archie, and Vinny had been best friends since they were kids. All of them came from deadbeat families, with drunks or addicts as parents. Gabe got his work ethic from not wanting to end up like his dad, not by example.

Together, they had joined as a unit. Just the three of them, working two and three jobs at a time to help get a down payment for this place. Even as a kid, the Hollington Ranch had been in disrepair. They would sneak off to the ranch for a place to hide while their parents were having one of their benders. Mr. Hollington would leave out snacks and sodas, along with blankets and cushions. He never said anything to them. Never told them off nor called the cops. He was a good guy.

The news of his passing had hit them all hard, and even though they weren’t invited to the funeral, they each went and paid their respects. The ranch went up for sale, but no one bought it until they did.

It had taken a lot of years, hard work, and love, but the ranch house was back in impeccable condition. The land once again had cattle, and they had expanded to allow horse boarding, cash crops, as well as renting out small animals for kids’ events. They may be simple cowboys, but their entrepreneurial spirit got them where they were.

Ranch life was busy most of the time, and if he was honest with himself, Gabe preferred it that way. Too much time in his head was never a good thing.

A housekeeper would ruin the peace they’d taken years to find. At the same time, steak and potatoes had long lost its appeal. The cookie Archie ate had looked good.

“Let me try one of them,” he said.

Archie tossed the bag in his direction, and he caught it, not surprised to see there was only one left.

After taking it out, he took a bite, and fuck him, he’d never tasted anything so good. It was sweet, but not too sweet. Each bite seemed to have just the right amount of chocolate chips in it. There was even a hint of salt that he loved.

“Damn,” he said.

“She’s a good cook, but she’s willing to come in and cook for us for a full day—breakfast, lunch, and dinner. She’ll also work on a trial basis,” Archie said.

Gabe finished the cookie in two bites, and the moment he swallowed the last mouthful, he mourned his cookie. This was ridiculous. He was a grown man. He didn’t get sad over baked goodies.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year … or is it?
Alora Harris is working her way up at Nelson Industries. Everything is going her way—her client list is growing and Christmas is just around the corner. Her best-laid plans end at the holiday office party. Too much alcohol mixed with a lot of pent up attraction leads to a night she’ll live to regret.
Adam Nelson doesn’t do relationships. Family is a word that makes him cringe. But he’s had his eye on Alora for some time. After one night of lust, he wants more. He wants to claim the curvy blonde for himself, but can he be everything she deserves?

With Christmas just around the corner, Alora and Adam will have to decide what’s most important. Will they take a chance on love or spend the holidays alone again?

Books by Author:

Sam Crescent, Stacey Espino

Chapter One

Alora Harris sipped at the glass of champagne as she watched all her colleagues having a good time at the annual Nelson Industries Christmas party. This was the one party their boss, Adam Nelson, insisted on every year—mandatory attendance. Of course, he’d also brought a beautiful, slender model to the party. She was the belle of the ball. Every single man in the room was drooling over her, and not too discreetly. Most of the men were ignoring their own wives. She loved Christmas but hated this party so damn much.

So many people faked it. They pretended there hadn’t been a cutthroat promotion, or a competition to win so many different accounts. Most people here would walk over each other to get ahead. She didn’t know how she had done it, but for the last five years, she’d been able to stay under the radar and not piss anyone off.

Her abilities were in designing. Bringing clients’ ideas into reality. She never fought with anyone to get ahead. Her craft spoke for itself, and often times she was personally requested to head a project. She wasn’t bragging when it came to her work. Rather, she had a knack for knowing what people wanted, and that was what put her on top.

Christmas music filtered through the stereo, and she couldn’t help but smile.

They had another week of work, and then she had a glorious two weeks off. This was another element of Adam’s work ethic. He believed in giving his staff relevant time off each year as he believed it promoted a better working environment.

She couldn’t complain.

Many people here had families, loved ones to go home to. She had an empty apartment with a single tree, a few decorations she’d designed and had gotten created, and her stray black cat she’d named Burt.

Considering she came from the foster system, she had made something of herself. She had a nice place, a decent salary, and hadn’t gone hungry ever since.

“A beautiful lady shouldn’t be sitting alone,” Adam, her boss said, holding out a glass of champagne.

It was odd for him to single her out. They rarely spoke two words to each other, not since he’d apologized to her. One of the clients had asked for her to work on a current sketch advertising. The company was for some kind of pet food or something, and they had gone organic on everything. Their ethos had changed from profit to the love of the pet as part of the family rather than just an animal that needed feeding. She got the parameters and general idea of what they wanted, and she drew a sketch. Adam had seen it and told her it wouldn’t work. She always stood by what she created, and so, she argued with the boss man himself until he backed off. Fortunately, she’d been right, and he had no choice but to apologize and she kept her job.

Despite all the backstabbing and general bastardness that went on at work, she liked her job. The hypocrisy was a different matter.

She never let her guard down. She’d never stepped on anyone’s toes, but that didn’t mean she didn’t have enemies here. There were a lot of people who were not happy that she’d won accounts without lifting a finger.

“I’ve got one, thank you,” she said, holding up her champagne.

“Ah, I see.”

“Don’t you have a date needing your attention?” she asked.

Adam shrugged. “Amelia won’t be hurting for company. So, I don’t think I saw your date.”
Her wolf lurked right under the surface, and it was when she felt the loss of her family the most. Caleb and Bethany’s pack were wonderful. They were her new family, but it hadn’t been that long ago when she’d lost her own. Their loss was still too fresh and raw to truly move on.

Some nights she found herself lying awake at night, shaking, sweaty, terrified. The memory of her father’s cries filling the air would stay with her forever. Haunt her. He’d been such a strong man but even he hadn’t been able to combat the rogue bear that had set about a path of destruction. Wrapping her arms around her body, she tried to ward off the cold.

At the peak of the full moon, they’d all be out in their second form, running, hunting. Her veganism still continued during the hunt. While the rest of the pack hunted rabbits, deer, or whatever animal they could catch, she’d often spend her time running. Stretching out her body so when the moon was gone, she didn’t have to worry about her beast coming to the surface.

“You’re out here all alone again,” Mika said. Her sister came and stood beside her.

“What’s wrong with being out here?”

“Why are you and David avoiding each other?”

“I don’t know what you mean.” The moment she’d met David, she’d felt this spark, this connection. She wasn’t entirely sure what it was, and anything new in her life tended to freak her out. She struggled with adapting, especially in the ever-changing human world. Where her sister had been able to look at change and make it her bitch, she couldn’t do it. Panic attacks, fits of rage, and sometimes standing still, unable to breathe were the ways she’d coped. It had gotten so bad when her parents had enrolled her in public school, they had no choice but to remove her. They said she was more feral than human, a curse in their day and age. Adaption was key and she didn’t blend in well.

It was why she tried to live her life finding balance in order to accept change. She couldn’t go to high school, but she’d been able to venture into shops or malls for a short time. Not long, a couple of minutes, and then she’d leave. Baby steps.

Her parents had been helping her to adapt, only for them to be killed during this process. She was thankful her uncle and her sister knew how bad she suffered with change and had helped her to avoid it every step of the way. Only there had been many new changes recently. Not all of them good. New pack, check. New people, check. New place to live, check. New sets of rules, check. All of it new. It was why she couldn’t sleep. Why the full moon terrified her.

The new pack was aware of her being a vegan and when that had made the rounds one night at dinner, the questions they’d bombarded her with had nearly overwhelmed her. If it hadn’t been for her sister and uncle, she’d have run and never come back. But running away only offered its own set of problems.

“Of course, you don’t know what I mean. We’ve all been avoiding the topic of you possibly being David’s mate. It’s starting to get old, Heather.”

“I’m not his mate. There. Does that make you feel better?” Even as she spoke the words, she felt they were a lie. Her mother had once told her when she found the one, she’d know. There would be no room for second-guessing.

If she was honest with herself, she knew damn well he was the one—her fated mate.

The permanence, the surety of that fact, suffocated her. It would be yet another change in a long list, and she didn’t want to deal with that right now.

David was sweet, kind, and strong. He had this … thing where he liked to watch her, which freaked her out. She wasn’t used to being the center of attention.

Mika moaned. “I can feel it, you know. It’s so warm.”

“I’m freezing cold,” she said.

Her sister frowned and wrapped her arms around her. “It’s okay. It’s not that warm.”

Heather smiled. “You’re as worried as I am. When a wolf starts to feel the cold and the moon scares the living crap out of her, it means she’s rejecting her pack, doesn’t it?”

“No. Of course it doesn’t just mean that,” Mika said. “It could mean anything. Why haven’t you told Uncle this?”

“I don’t want to worry him. He’s been so focused on making this work. He’ll feel obligated to leave or I’ll end up pushing him into a decision to kick me out. I’m fine.” The truth was she wasn’t fine. With everything happening around her, she didn’t want to be without a pack. It was a miracle they’d been accepted into a new pack at all.
Ella spends her days studying rocks. It’s not glamorous work, and her funding is next to nothing, but she hopes to prove life exists beyond Earth. What she doesn’t count on is being used as a breeding vessel to save an alien race. She’s kidnapped and taken far from Earth for only one purpose. She tries to revolt but it’s hard when her captor does such wicked things to her body.

Dhiro travels to Earth to find a fertile mate. The future of his planet is at stake, so failing is not an option. He’s never met a human in the flesh, but his studies conclude they’re a primitive and violent race. He’s pleasantly surprised when he finds a female soon after landing. She’s lush, in touch with her emotions, and will make the perfect mate for him.

There are others on Dhiro’s plant with fertility issues. Can he keep Ella safe when they try to take her for themselves? And will their union even save his world at all?

The blue planet filled Dhiro’s viewscreen as he prepared his ship to enter the atmosphere. He’d been dealing with numerous technical problems the past few hours, so it was a relief to finally reach his destination. It had been an excruciatingly long, mind-numbing trip through space. But it would all be worth it once he found a breeding vessel to carry on his lineage. An heir was all that mattered.

His two brothers said he’d never make it—it was too far, too dangerous, and the Earthlings may not even be compatible with their DNA. But Dhiro had done his research, and the Earth females were the perfect match. Although primitive in comparison, they were physically compatible, and he should be able to walk among them without detection.

With the repairs he had to complete on his ship before returning home to Trenu Zel, he hoped finding a suitable female would be quick and painless.

As he navigated the rough entry, his mother appeared on his monitor. She always chose the worst moments to make her appearance. “Yes, Mother?”

“Have you arrived safely?”

“Ask me again in five minutes. I’m attempting to land right now.”

“Please be careful,” she said. “I want you to return home safely, with or without a mate.”

He held his breath for a moment, then responded, “I’ll check in with updates. Take care of my brothers.” Dhiro turned off the monitor.

He’d come to Earth out of duty, a responsibility to keep their lineage alive. In all his planning, he’d failed to think of his Earthling conquest as a future mate, but he supposed that was exactly what she would be. He’d never allowed his mind to wander into territories of love and bonding. If she were a Trenuian female, their match would be blessed by their people. Dhiro was entering uncharted territory and would be the first to claim an Earthling. Some of the males on his taskforce laughed at the thought of him mating with a primitive species. He’d been the butt of jokes for months.

However, they wouldn’t mock him once he returned with the only fertile female on his planet. At least that was his plan.

Within seconds, the ship made contact with the ground, skidding and jumping as it created a great plume of dust. His body jostled in his seat, and anything not bolted down was tossed around the ship’s interior. When he finally came to a complete stop, he didn’t dare move. As the minutes passed, he finally took a breath and unfastened his protective belts.

He turned on the viewscreen. His ship had indeed landed on the Earth’s surface, but it was barren, no sign of humans or their civilizations. Just dirt, dirt the color of rust for miles.

No matter. He’d come here for a purpose and had no plans in calling it quits.

Dhiro tested the outside air before opening the outer hatch. He stood on the top step, taking a cautious first breath of Earth’s air. It wasn’t as fragrant as the air back home, but it was breathable.

The temperature was much warmer here, the intensity of the sun something he wasn’t accustomed to. His steps echoed on the metal stairs as he descended. There was nothing here, and since his ship would be out of commission until he dealt with repairs, moving to a more populated area wasn’t an option.

He put his hand over his eyes to scan the distant mountains. The sky was a unique shade of blue. The planet had its charm, but he was still glad this voyage was temporary.

Dhiro unfastened one of the outside panels to begin working on the ship’s exterior circuits. He’d start his search for a mate tomorrow after he rested for the night. One by one, he tested for faults in the equipment. It was a mindless task, the hours slipping by without notice. The sky began to darken as he completed his first of many tasks.

A distant scream immediately captured his full attention. He set down his tools and took several steps into the open to get a better view of the land.

There was nothing to see. Nothingness in every direction.

Again, the scream echoed along the mountains ridge and valleys. He decided to investigate. After strapping on his weaponry and protective vest, he began his trek along the vast, red land. The sun had slipped below the horizon, but his vision was equally effective in the darkness.

He’d traveled far, and the lingering heat was becoming an increasing annoyance. The cries grew louder as he walked, so he had to be very close. Animals growled nearby, and he wasn’t sure what creatures he may find in this region. From his research, nothing on Earth could be a threat to him, so he plodded onward.

As he turned the corner of a low mountain, there was a small chasm with scant greenery. Plumes of smoke from a recently doused fire drifted up into the sky. And five feral beasts were closing in on a lone human. A female.
