Dash Richmond

I’m Dash Richmond, seasoned attorney, mostly decent person, and currently living my best life with my forever husband, Beau Brooks. He’s my anchor. The person who keeps my feet firmly planted to the ground and the one who has me on the edge of my seat, waiting for one of his silly soft grins or sweet, caressing kisses. Nothing has changed for me since the day I met him. I’m still head over heels in love with my guy.

That’s the real me. But to the rest of the world, I’m thought of as a legal powerhouse and courtroom bulldog. That’s why people hire me and why it’s in your best interest to not get on my bad side.

Yet, life is complicated. In a sudden twist of fate, the rug gets pulled out from underneath me, leaving me reeling.

Beau Brooks

Once I learned to get out of my own way, my life transformed in ways I never thought possible. Fast forward a few years, and my mister is not only the love and joy of my life, but every dream we dared to make has come true.

Other dreams have a funny way of manifesting too. I’m now co-owner in a thrilling charter fishing service, alongside my lifelong buddy and new Sea Springs neighbor, Scott Lee.

Then out of nowhere, life hurls a fastball that sends me sprawling. My meticulously built inner defensives crumble, thrusting me into a place I never wanted to be. Can I muster the strength to be the leader of my family or will the fear of losing my life’s love bring me to my knees, risking everything I hold dear.

When our cherished lives suddenly go sideways, are either of us really the men we believed ourselves to be? Can we navigate the maze of these powerful truths, or will the force of change shatter what we hold dear?

The Gravity Series is an unforgettable whirlwind romance chronicling the love of two men over three decades. Force heats up the scene with passionate alpha males who navigate the often-rocky road to love. Love’s rarely easy, but when it’s true, it’s a battle worth fighting for

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Part 1

1: The Birthday

Dash

July 3, 2019

Sea Springs, Texas

Something as simple as a roll from one side of the bed to the other had become a complicated deal for me these days. I’d been in this predicament every time I tried to sleep for almost three years. The primary culprit: pajama-fucking-pants.

What numbnut invented something so pointless? Clearly, they had no feeling in their nuts. Every time I moved I cut off essential blood flow to the region, which woke me up repeatedly. How could something made with good old-fashion American ingenuity have such a glaring oversight?

Then, as if that weren’t the most awful thing in the world, my pride added a fatal blow, preventing me from swapping these ridiculous pants for comfortable form-fitting athletic shorts like Beau wore. In the beginning, when clothes in bed became a thing, I chose pajama pants when Beau thought I should wear shorts. Now, he slept like a comfortable baby while I generally stared at the back of his head, not even his face, though I doubted that would help pacify my frustration after all this time.

For the sake of my current pity party, I usually avoided the truth: I was too damned hard-headed. I put these pants on every night, no one forced them on me. My husband of almost four years, Beau Richmond-Brooks, had taught me a good lesson about being too focused on things that weren’t near as important as him. Nowadays, I reserved my argumentative nature for the courtroom or for situations like this, where my defiance to admit I was wrong, only led to my own discomfort, no one else.

As I lay there, staring at my husband’s broad shoulders, I counted his long, measured breaths while my thoughts slipped to other things. Despite our challenges, Beau and I still squabbled over our minor differences. The same ones we’d had from the beginning, nineteen years ago. They typically revolved around something I wanted that veered off the course Beau set for himself. In our current life, Beau never bent. But he had a unique ability to capture my attention and steer me back onto his track.

Silently, yet with a touch of drama, I rolled over. My pants stayed in their previous position, cutting off more circulation than before. I stared at the dark ceiling, manifesting new thoughts about how much I loved my life.

As I rested my palm on my shirtless chest—noting that was how my whole body should be—I rubbed at the sweet ache of insurmountable joy there.

Fortunately, I didn’t need much sleep. I lifted my head, catching the first rays of morning sunlight peeking around the sides of the curtains. In peaceful moments, I reflected on all the victories I had accomplished over the past four years. This perfectly sized, cozy bedroom was one of them.

We had managed to build a replica of Beau’s ancestral family home, making only a few minor adjustments. While I didn’t override Beau’s vision, I made tiny enhancements. I couldn’t resist incorporating a few elements from my Dallas home. For example, this bedroom suite was much larger than the previous one. That oversized, open concept followed throughout the entire home. I installed a few smart options in all the first floor rooms. Mood lighting and a sound system helped nourish my soul. Beyond the curtains in our room were the same floor-to-ceiling retractable windows that we’d had before. They led to a private section of the nice-sized swimming pool in our backyard.

Many nights, Beau and I would sneak out for a private swim, sharing conversation and simply enjoying being in each other’s company. Those memories stayed vividly trapped inside my heart, truly special moments for me.

When sneaking outside wasn’t an option, we’d take refuge in the en suite bathroom built for a king, or two guys who really liked to spend time alone. Bubble baths were a new addition to our private time. The oversized, luxury bathtub was everything to me. I cherished holding my guy in a cozy embrace, surrounded by warm, temperature-controlled water with tight bubbles floating on top. My cock firmed underneath my pajama pants, the material not stretching to accommodate the additional space. I ran my hand down my chest to travel under the waistband and grip my cock.

I tugged in measured movements, continuing my mapping of the first floor of our home. The bedroom opened into the furthest side of the living room. A dining room and spacious kitchen were all there in an open concept, making the downstairs feel enormous. But while christening our home, I demanded each of those spaces be considered separate. I fucked my guy over the kitchen island, the dining table, and every piece of furniture in the living room. My fist gave a hungry stroke down then up again, until the whispers penetrated the room.
Dash Richmond

After what my family did to us, I somehow manage to not only survive, but to thrive. I’m an attorney, a junior partner in one of the most prestigious law firms in the country. The climb up the ladder is daunting. But my guy, the love of my life, pushes me to never give up, and I haven’t. We know the sacrifices we’re making will give us a better life once my education pays off.

While that’s all true, fast forward in time. Somehow, I’ve lost my way. I’m walking a tightrope where one wrong step could cost me everything. Now I’m stuck in a place I never planned to be with a man who’s losing faith in me by the second.

Beau Brooks

My determination to be a self-made man is becoming a hard goal to achieve. I couldn’t have asked for a better partner. I love him beyond reason, but all that devotion isn’t helping me get through the long, lonely days and nights for months on end. Dash puts everything else first and is morphing into a man I don’t recognize, leaving me to live a life I never wanted.

When I finally see the truth in a way I can’t overlook, leaving my love is the only real option. Am I strong enough to make a change or will I continue to fade into the hidden shadows where Dash seems to want me to dwell?

Our strong relationship could unravel when the differences become too hard to ignore. Can the bonds we forged in our past hold us together or will our carefully laid foundation crumble, leading us to separate lives?

The Gravity Series is an unforgettable whirlwind romance chronicling the love of two men over three decades. Fusion heats up the scene with passionate alpha males who navigate the often rocky road to love. Love’s rarely easy, but when it’s true, it’s a battle worth fighting for.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Part 1

1: The Booty Bounce

Beau

May 2006

Dallas, Texas

Enter me into a sexy, all male dance-off, and you’d see me win.

No doubt, I’d bounce my way into a grand prize trophy. Obviously, I needed to hit the dance floor more often, because when I did, the magic happened. My signature move? Hip shaking and butt bouncing. Of course, I didn’t do them together. That’d be impossible. Instead, I’d created a synchronized movement to the beat of a funky electronic tune. I didn’t even know music like that existed.

Damn, I had to be making Dash proud tonight. I didn’t know why I was nervous about coming to his law school’s end of semester party. I was the toast of the gathering. The women who attended loved me. Screw Dash’s dumb parents. They didn’t think I fit into their high-class world. Well, look at me now.

I wish Dash had his fancy cell phone with him instead of leaving it with the checkroom attendant. I needed photographic proof of my greatness tonight. As awesome as I felt, chances leaned to not remembering any of this in the morning. Dash made sure my glass never emptied.

Thanks to Alexis, one of Dash’s classmates and my personal twerk coach, I was able to continue drinking while dancing like a professional. It had to do with my shoulders. If I kept them straight and didn’t move my upper body, I managed to get more of my cocktail—a total Dash word—into my mouth rather than on the dance floor.

All the ladies cheered me on, adding in an occasional ass slap of appreciation. Dash gave a few of those too, encouraging others to do the same.

The song changed, causing me to be torn with whether I should lean or rock with it. Such a complicated query—another Dash word that stuck inside my head. After at least a solid five seconds of contemplation, I decided to do both. Swaying while shaking my hips. Since I held a glass in my hand, only one arm flew into the air. Apparently, my head wanted in on the action, playfully tilting in the opposite direction of my hips.

An annoying voice inside my head kept trying to harsh my good vibes. Hinting that the spicy dark rum might be responsible for my oddly confident ego. But I knew exactly how to silence all that negativity and took a hearty gulp of the magical elixir Dash had concocted, then made perfect with the help of the bartender.

This drink was basically an RSVP to my hangover in the morning. Since my current life strategy was to live on a second-by-second basis, I’d deal with tomorrow when it came.

I really liked the people Dash went to school with. We were having a blast. I wouldn’t call them laid-back, and just like Dash, they had ambition and determination, but not meanness. They also knew how to throw down a good party and went at it hard.

Unlike they had Dash, nobody questioned my age, which was legally below the required twenty-one years old to be inside this club. I liked that too. I never got carded. Dash on the other hand had to show his identification everywhere we went.

My guy and I had given ourselves a forty-eight hour deadline to emotionally get past what Dash’s parents had done to us. Actually, we were thirty-six hours into Dash continually apologizing to me. I’d tried my best to make him chill, but that attempt hit an immovable brick wall. His stubbornness knew no bounds, leaving me to count the hours until I never had to hear another I’m sorry again.

The club was modern and posh. A ritzy kind of place situated on a floor close to the top of a downtown Dallas high-rise. The three hundred sixty degree view displayed the Dallas skyline from every angle.

In the heart of the shallow swimming pool was a clear, raised, floating dance floor. It had to be close to midnight. Only a couple of hours left before the night came to an end.

“Beau,” Dash hollered, weaving like a ninja through the crowded dance floor. He was my hydration hero tonight. He came with two full shots of something that was sure to make my head swim. Without missing much of a beat, he handed me the shot then swiped away my almost empty glass, summoning a waiter as if out of thin air.

“Do you want me to take anything else?” the waiter asked loud enough to be heard over the music. Dash encouraged me to down my shot at the same time he did then passed those glasses to the waiter too. He never broke eye contact with me.

“I love you. I’m sorry for what my parents did,” he hollered, angling his body flush against mine. As if destiny had taken hold of the moment, the song changed, slowing everyone down. We moved together as one. I wrapped my free arm casually around his waist. His tight hold held us together. My guy was a silly romantic once he began to drink. And that spoke volumes since Dash knew how to turn on the charm at any given moment.
A secret, even with good intentions, could jeopardize everything he holds dear.

Keyes Dixon’s life has changed in so many ways since meeting his now-husband, Alec Pierce. He shed his unkempt biker exterior, leaving behind the days of intimidating people with his mere presence…mostly.

Empowered by his new confidence in himself and his life, he wants to share his joy with Alec. He seizes the opportunity to craft a special, handmade gift for his love. A custom motorcycle built entirely by Keyes.

Shhh….don’t tell Alec! It’s a surprise.

Alec, skilled attorney with unyielding determination and a knack for diving deep into any situation, knows something is amiss inside their home. He tries to give Keyes space and time to come to him, but his patience wears thin even as he keeps his worries bottled up.

As time inches closer to the big day, will their secrets destroy what they worked so hard to build?

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Chapter One

Dev

September

With his signature wicked smirk in place, Dev “Devilman” Fox sat on top of the conference room table with his weathered boots planted firmly on a plastic chair. He leaned forward with his elbows propped on his knees. His eagle-eyed stare fixed on the towering drop-down screen taking up most of the back wall of the meeting space. A screen so big, it was hard to think of anything else and it definitely threw off the balance of the room.

At least that was his opinion that no one asked for.

So he kept his mouth shut.

Holding his tongue while keeping all the wild craziness leashed up inside his head was a new development in his life. Cash, the guy who owned his heart, called it maturity. Dev suspected it had more to do with the properly prescribed—from a real medical doctor, ADHD medication he popped on the daily. Like as in every morning. Cash lovingly placed a pill on the counter before leaving for work with a sweet note of encouragement to have a good day.

Damn, he loved that man.

Another bonus, Cash had medical insurance that he shared with Dev. It really made a big difference in the medical care he received.

Dammit, Dev. Focus.

He may have exaggerated the claim of being eagle-eyed. As he gripped the presentation remote tighter than any game show contestant he’d ever seen, anxiety and pressure pumped through his veins. He had one job. To click the button to turn the pages of the PowerPoint presentation Keyes Dixon was giving.

And since he was telling the truth, he’d go a step further. His ass hurt from the uncomfortable seat he’d chosen when he first arrived. Hopping up on the table? What was he thinking? There were ten padded leather chairs in the room.

Lesson learned.

But no lie, his assigned job was challenging. It might be the hardest of his entire life. And with what he had lived through, that said a lot.

The preparation for today’s presentation had taken weeks, maybe months, to nail down. Keyes had done all the heavy lifting in organizing the content, taking this as seriously as he had ever taken anything.

Their audience consisted of one person: Alec Pierce. Keyes’s new husband.

And their sole potential investor.

Months ago, when he and Keyes began to revive their childhood dream of building custom bikes, Alec had guided them to the Small Business Administration. The SBA had then sent them to SCORE Business Mentoring to help mold their dream into a potential professional moneymaker. After all their help in learning what it takes to start a business properly, they were now ready to secure financing.

The kicker, Dev could single-handedly finance the whole operation without an investor. But how did he explain where the money had come from without raising more questions than he was prepared to answer.

“Devilman, what the fuck?” Keyes barked, drawing Dev back into the here and now.

“Shit. Sorry,” he murmured and pushed the button.

Dev stared at the new slide, trying to judge their performance to this point.

Maybe Keyes wasn’t the right person to spearhead this presentation.

This time, Dev caught Keyes’s cue and pushed the button, changing the slide at the right moment. He let go of a pent-up breath. The pressure was off him for at least the next few seconds.

As Keyes continued to speak, Dev cast a sly glance at Alec. He lounged in a leather conference room chair, shifting his attention between Keyes and the screen. He was focused and attentive, with a manila folder open on the table in front of him. He leaned on one elbow with his hand partially covering his mouth.

They were in Alec’s swanky offices in the headquarters of Escape Resorts.

Dev had never seen Alec’s professional side. Keyes’s husband had always come off as pretty arm candy, devoted to Keyes’s happiness. Today, Dev understood it was all a veneer. Alec was a force who challenged everything, grilling Keyes with a barrage of questions as the presentation dragged on.

From this angle, Dev caught a glimpse of Alec’s lips pressed into a tight frown. Huh.

What if he decided to pass on the investment?

He suspected Keyes couldn’t see the frown from his position, facing Alec directly.

Regardless, Dev caught another one of Keyes’s cues and clicked the remote for the win.

The screen changed. With a nod, Keyes silently acknowledged a job well done.

Damn, Dev was crushing it like a boss.

“Why do you insist on doing this?” Alec asked, interrupting Keyes.

Keyes clamped his lips together. His furry, manicured brows dropped into a severe V, giving his most fierce glare, which meant one of two things. Either, Alec risked being tackled into a fistfight. A place Dev had found himself in a time or two when he’d pushed Keyes too far. Or the other, which was more likely, Keyes was contemplating Alec’s question.

Either way, the big giant’s stare usually frightened anyone in the vicinity but had zero effect on Alec, who responded with his own stern stare.

Dash Richmond

I’m the tenth child of affluent older parents, confident, and privileged. But the future they see for me isn’t how I want to live my life. A chance encounter with a guy my polar opposite changes my path indefinitely, leading me to the life I’ve always wanted.

When he’s ripped away from me, I vow to wait for his return. Now I’m stuck in limbo, unwilling to give up on him.

Can the friction of life destroy what they shared or is your first true love like gravity—an unending universal law?

The Gravity Series is an unforgettable whirlwind romance chronicling the love of two men over three decades. Friction heats up the scene with passionate alpha males who navigate the often-rocky road to love. Love’s rarely easy, but when it’s true, it’s a battle worth fighting for.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Late Spring, 2000

Mobile, Alabama

The fresh morning air and bright sun drew me from my second-floor window out onto the rooftop. I followed a well-worn path that I’d trekked hundreds of times before. When I reached the point just beyond the downstairs living room windows, I leaped to a grassy patch below, easily landing on my feet. From there, I followed the fence line to my favorite place, our property’s edge along Dog River.

Small ripples lapped gently against the shallow shoreline. I took a seat on my butt, just shy of the river’s edge. Life’s troubles stayed at a distance here, which was why I spent most of my time in this spot.

But the river didn’t work its usual magic. Probably due to this being my last time here.

My heart seriously hurt.

Absently, I picked up a rock and tested its weight by sifting it through my fingers. My grandfather, my pop-pop, came to mind, causing the pain in my heart to ramp up a notch, thinking about the care he used to teach me how to skip a rock properly. Because of him, I could throw a stone better than most. It might even be my superpower.

The last time I saw him, he called me to his side for a final bit of advice. It echoed through my head as if he were sitting right next to me. He explained that experiencing pain was essential in the process of love. Pain showed us how deeply we cared, and how lucky we were to have loved in the first place. Pop-pop knew he was at the end of his life, even if I had refused to believe it.

At fourteen years old, a week shy of my fifteenth birthday, I knew way too much about pain and not near enough about love.

“Beau. Are you awake, son?” The muffled sound of my mom's voice called from inside the house. If I guessed correctly, she was probably near the kitchen. She’d then call me again at the base of the stairs before trotting up to see I wasn’t in my bedroom. It gave me a few more precious minutes of privacy before she found me outside.

She… Me too, I guessed, but for the sake of my current pity party, this was all on her. She planned to exile me from my childhood home in Alabama to live in Sea Springs, Texas, where she grew up and where my other set of grandparents still lived.

I had until the long-haul movers loaded everything we owned into the back of their truck then moved us across the country to my grandparents’ bed-and-breakfast. Maybe the distance wasn’t quite that far, but for the sadness clogging my world, I needed the dramatic flair.

“Beau! Quit pouting and come downstairs. It’s time,” my mom called louder.

I glanced at the empty covered boat dock built fifty feet into the river. Only a ghost of its former self. Empty and void of all the personality that once hung on the walls. Pieces of décor and memorabilia my father had collected over the last fifteen years.

The rock in my hand hummed, drawing my attention there. I got to my feet, readying the toss. After all, as the two-year reigning champion of stone skipping, awarded by the governing body of the Dog River Festival, I knew how to make the rock bounce across the ripples.

With my arm reared back, I threw the stone forward, sending it flying low across the river. My eyes locked on its descent, ready to count the skips. A throw that should have garnered at least twelve jumps.

It didn’t. Not even one. The rock sank underwater before it ever had a chance to get started.

If a moment represented a life, this was mine.

“Beau, come on, babe! The movers are almost here.” Her heavy clomps up the stairs rang of her irritation.

“You there?” Scott Lee, my lifelong best friend, called from behind the privacy fence. We’d been neighbors for as long as I can remember. We did everything together. Spent some part of every day with the other, and had each other’s back no matter what the situation.

We also had a healthy competitive streak between us. Well, if healthy meant we approached every task with a battle-to-the-death attitude. Each determined to win, no matter the cost. We fished, exercised, and did all our schoolwork together in a race to see who was the strongest, fastest, or smartest.

But, if I were being honest, the invisible connections that bound us together had begun to show signs of unraveling. Scott had grown stupidly girl-crazy, like his brain cells had gone haywire. He wanted and was determined to find a girlfriend who put out. It was all he talked about anymore, and I wasn’t there with him.

Seconds later, Scott poked his head over the high fence. A couple of colorful balloons sprang up behind him, bouncing in the air as he fluidly jumped over the tall slats, landing easily on his feet. The balloons stayed on the other side, unattached to my friend.
With all his effortless sex appeal, Dev locked eyes with Cash and gave a perfected grin. That was all it took for his heart to leap from his chest and flutter around excitedly.

What Cash knew that literally every other person on the planet didn’t was that his devil wasn’t as evil as rumored to be. He was a kind and generous man. Considerate and loving to his core. Cash’s perfect lover and even better life partner.

“Hard day?” Cash asked.

“You make every fuckin’ day harder than it has to be,” Dev declared harshly, his direct gait zeroing in on Cash. His dick swelled at the heat in his lover’s gaze. The way Cash was manhandled into a full body hug had him pressing closer to his guy. Dev slid strong fingers into the front pieces of Cash’s hair, ruffling the strands onto his forehead just how the biker liked.

Abigail and Mae, Dev’s two daughters, appeared as if from thin air. Mae jumped up and down, happy to see her beloved dad. Cash had grown to adore those little girls.

He reared back to take a closer look at Dev. Tall, dark blond hair, a handsome face with a strong jaw, dark T-shirt, vintage jeans, boots that leaned more motorcycle than work. He wore leather and silver jewelry, all straps and chains lining his wrists and neck. Sexy as sin.

The tattoos began to dance under his inspection.

Cash’s brows dropped in confusion the longer he watched the tattoos move and rearrange themselves. That wasn’t right.

Shit, he was dreaming again.

As if scenic panels dropped from the sky, the backdrop to their world suddenly changed. They were no longer inside the house but instead in a well-manicured backyard. Dev no longer held him. Cash was bent over a row of flower pots, his hands working the potting soil. The girls’ fingers were there too, helping him repot something…

“Of course, you’re dreamin’. When did I ever smell that good?” Dev’s grin turned mocking as he reached down to pick up Mae, hoisting her onto his hip where she generally rested.

Wake up. You know how this ends.

Suddenly, the earth shook beneath his feet, followed by the explosive sounds of a bomb detonating close by. Cash instinctively ducked and turned toward the sonic boom, trying to make sense of what was happening, only to be met with utter darkness. The inky blackness crept toward him with malevolent intent.

Mae’s scream had Cash fighting against an evil trying to consume him but failing to reach her. Dev’s handsome features twisted into agony. He protectively slung Mae behind him, grabbing for Abigail as blood began to stain the center of his T-shirt.

Their gazes locked. Dev’s stunned expression sent shards of ice rippling through his heart. He was helpless to intervene, forced to watch as the beautiful chaos that once danced in Dev’s bright blue eyes dimmed. Dev crumpled to the concrete.

Russian chatter echoed in the distance.

Cash jerked his head. His nose struck something hard. Adrenaline shot through his body as his eyelids opened wide.

It wasn’t real. Only a terrifying dream.

The effects of the nightmare slowly faded as he took in his surroundings.
Dev Devilman Fox, the best ink slinger in town, is known for his sharp wit, angry fists and epically bad decisions. Becoming a lifelong patched member of the Disciples of Havoc MC at eighteen years old is probably the worst…but certainly not the only. When his hot new tenant catches his eye, Dev jumps in headfirst, ready to drive full throttle wherever that sexy road leads. That is until he finds himself on another hairpin turn, careening his life toward the closest brick wall.

Special Agent Cash Thomas has spent years undercover rooting out bad apples within various federal agencies. When his latest assignment brings him face to face with a sinfully tempting man from his past, his priorities shift on a dime. Now his reputation as a dedicated and focused field agent is in question. When faced with the opportunity to repay the man who once saved his life, smudging a few well-established lines is the least he’ll do.

When their paths collide can a bond from the past save their future or will it bury
them under the chaos? Leathers might shield them from road rash, but they can’t protect them from heartbreak.

Chaos is a suspenseful motorcycle club romance with strong male leads. A stand-alone story in the Tattoos and Ties series. If you like sexy alpha males ready to take on the world for the one they love and intriguing storylines with many twists and turns, give Chaos a try.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Chapter 1

He eased his heavy work boot from the foot pedal. At the same time, Dev “Devilman” Fox lifted the tip of the tattoo machine off his client’s arm and wiped a towel over the newly inked skin. The sound system changed songs and Dev mentally sang the words to “Renegade” as he pushed back in his seat, stretching the tense muscles of his shoulders and neck.

“Crank it,” Dev yelled at Millie who was working somewhere in his carved-out piece of office space inside his father’s motorcycle shop. The beat by Styx was a personal favorite that he’d spent his entire life listening to.

His old man, his father, better known as Fox, the president and co-founder of the Disciples of Havoc motorcycle club, had made sure his only son got an almost spiritual knowledge of every rage-against-the-establishment song ever recorded. It didn’t matter if the sounds came from angry metal or hardcore rap music, if it spoke against the corrupt government and law enforcement systems, Dev could sing every word by heart.

Many prophetic lines from those songs adorned his own inked body.

They were the anthem of his heart. The meaning of his life. Another way to give the institution his double middle fingers. No one governed him and the fuckers should stop trying.

Instant fury shot like an erupting volcano across every fiber of his being at the thought of what that fucking bitch Dallas District Attorney had done to his brothers and their motorcycle club.

Ray-Ray, a full patch member of the Disciples, needed to be voted out of the club, stripped of his colors. He should be forced to give up his cut for exposing the club to the scrutiny and grief of that goddamn cunt. She was the current source of all their bullshit problems. How had not one of the club’s old timers remembered that Ray-Ray had tapped that snatch over twenty years ago? He was so damned tired of all the leaks and breaches of trust within the club’s members. Fuck ’em all for the constant state of chaos they were having to live in.

And that fucking DA… Her days were numbered.

He’d make sure of that.

Dev shook his head hard, trying to lose the sudden vengeance. If he let his mind have the pleasure of traveling down such a dark road of retribution, he’d lose sight of the client in his chair.

Concentration was key in his line of work and a damn hard thing to find these days.

Between the club problems and the hours’ long tattoo he’d started and wasn’t connecting with on any level, the tension in his neck had solidified into a solid ache. With a forceful stretch to the left then the right, he tried to ease away the tightness gripping his muscles.

When the song’s whistle blew and the tune’s beat kicked up a notch, Dev started a controlled head banging motion. His mind wandered as he closed his eyes. The music’s cadence soothed the rough edges of his growing irritation with the stench sitting across from him at his workstation.

Stench might not be a bold enough word to describe the guy’s aroma. No one achieved that scent by missing a bath or two. That disgusting odor had been nurtured and built upon. Did the guy actually live inside a fucking dumpster? One of those giant steel cans of rotting filth. Filled with days’ old decaying food and dirty diapers. The kind of trash that sat outside in the sun all day long during the hottest part of an oppressive Texas summer.

Dev cast a disgusted look at his client’s mouth. Fucker’s gums hadn’t stopped flapping since he’d started the tattoo hours ago. He saw remnants of food still stuck between Stink’s teeth.

His fucking breath was God awful offensive just like the rest of the man.

Over the years, Dev had developed the ability to block out the nervous chatter from the clients in his chair. A true gift because people could get a hell of a lot of anxiety while being inked. But this dude brought a whole new level to oversharing. He never shut up.

Dev had even switched from his preferred tattoo pen back to his coil in order to increase the buzz of the machine.

A great idea that, again, worked in every other situation except this one.

Dev’s refusal to reply to any comment didn’t deter the man.

Beautiful visions of reaching out and popping this guy in the mouth kept filling Dev’s mind. As clear an image as if it had actually happened. He imagined his balled fist darting out. A quick, forceful hit, right between those thin cracked lips, knocking Stink’s teeth out in one expert jab.

To be fair, Dev had perfected the unexpected yet very effective punch to the face. His go-to move in most situations. No one ever saw it coming. It said more than any of his words ever could.
Are you sure?” Duncan Reigns, Ducky to his friends and family, asked. He glanced over his shoulder, eyeing his reflection in the full-length mirror sitting in the middle of the dressing room just off Greer Lockhart’s large walk-in closet.

He turned a one-eighty, focusing on the style and cut of the suit he wore. When an answer didn’t come, he lifted his gaze to find Greer studying the outfit as well. After a few tense moments, something close to satisfaction passed over Greer’s stern face.

“Positive. But stop moving. You fidget constantly. Stop.” Greer stepped toward Ducky, gripping his shoulders, pushing them back until they refused to go any further, forcing Ducky into the position he wanted. “You’ve got to stop slumping. Head up, shoulders back. Proper posture all the time. The reason you aren’t satisfied with any of these clothes is because you’re not owning them. They own you. It throws off the whole look. Whether or not you feel confident, you must present yourself as a man who not only owns nice clothing but also owns the space around him. Lift your chin, too. Stop looking down.”

Ducky held the awkward pose, intentionally keeping his chest puffed out as he rotated around to look back into the mirror. The transformation in his appearance occurred instantly. His gaze drifted to Dallas, his brother, who leaned against the doorframe separating the dressing room from the main bedroom. Dallas’s brawny biceps noticeably bulged with his arms crossed tightly over his chest.

Since Ducky had first mentioned the idea of Greer helping him with a total body makeover, Greer had taken the role as mentor and transformer to heart. He used strict guidance and a tight schedule with his tutelage and had zero qualms about correcting Ducky. He did it frequently.

After months of following Greer’s drill sergeant approach to working out, Ducky’s soft, almost nonexistent muscles had developed. The physical part hadn’t come easy, but the rewards were worth it. Greer had finally moved this makeover in the direction Ducky had originally thought they’d start: his clothing. He’d always been impressed by the way Greer dressed. But now he understood it was more than just the clothes that made Greer, Greer.

Since they’d started, Ducky had become accustomed to living in a constant state of sore, aching muscles. Greer had changed his eating habits too. No more fast food. Not to worry, he still snuck in a cheeseburger or two whenever he got the chance. No one knew that truth. Or…at least Greer hadn’t called him out on it.

Ducky could see for himself that he looked like a completely different man today because of Greer’s unwavering guidance. Those five in the morning wake-up calls, pushing him out of bed to work out, never failed to motivate. He learned the hard way that if he didn’t answer, Greer would get in his car and drive over. The workouts with Greer beside him were a million times harder than the ones he did alone.

His head was taking a little more time to adjust to the change. His confidence levels weren’t elevating as quickly as he hoped. He still fought that inner voice that kept insisting this outer appearance was a ridiculous impostor. Per Greer, those insecurities weren’t hidden. They spoke volumes in his poor posture and constant crossed arms over his chest. Ducky only agreed with Greer’s first observation, not the second. He crossed his arms to give him something to do with his hands when he was forced out into the world with real people. If he didn’t tuck them away, he’d fidget nervously. If he couldn’t find the right words to say, he’d try to speak with his hands. Which turned into a whole-arm movement that eventually included his entire upper body, as if he planned to take flight with all the flapping he did.

Even now, he had a hell of a time just standing still with his arms hanging casually at his sides. He’d watched both Dallas and Greer cross their arms while thinking through a situation… With his shoulders still held back and his chest expanded in the unnatural pose, he carefully crossed his arms over his chest like Dallas’s to test the look.

His focus riveted on the mirror, insistently noting the difference between the two looks. As he studied his posture, he gnawed on his lip, memorizing this exact stance. Honestly, he was proud of what he saw. Other than the unruly mop of curls on his head that had to be continually tossed aside to be able to see, he didn’t look half bad.

“Tuck your fist under your bicep,” Dallas instructed, drawing Ducky’s attention. Dallas lifted a fist and pushed it back underneath his crossed arm, enhancing the look of his bicep.

“So, that’s how you do that?” Ducky asked, amazed at the difference.
Nightclub manager Julian Cullen runs Reservations with impeccable precision and a deep sense of pride. But repressed memories from his abduction two years ago surface, leaving him struggling emotionally. Julian vows to reclaim his previous life but doesn’t factor in the biggest distraction of all: the handsome cowboy hanging around the club intent on gaining his attention.

Entrepreneur Beckett St. Clair built an industry-leading survivalist training company through hard work and dedication. The tough-as-nails outdoorsman can navigate any situation or so he thinks…A chance encounter with a guarded nightclub manager leaves him tumbling head over heels into uncharted territory.

One man is lost to his past, the other dreams of a future. Both men will soon find out love is never easy…it’s complicated.

Books by Author:

Kindle Alexander

Chapter 1

Julian Cullen stood behind the wall of one-way mirrors in his office at Reservations, the nightclub he managed. He assessed the new tables and barstools as he looked down over an almost empty main floor. The cleaning crew scuttled around, hard at work this morning, making the place as pristine and as close to perfect as possible.

Reservations had a standard of excellence to maintain, and Julian worked day and night to ensure each employee on his team understood their role in meeting those expectations. From the club’s janitorial service to the attached restaurant’s kitchen staff, Julian demanded they all measure up. If they didn’t, then he cut them loose.

This club had reason and purpose. It saved lives. It had saved his.

“Did you walk away again?” The deep, husky voice drew Julian from his musings and back toward his desk, where the red light showed the speakerphone still active. Shit.

Now Julian had two options. One, stay quiet and let his boss, Thane Walker, owner and operator of Reservations, believe he had indeed walked away from their conversation like he had done many times before while being censured. Or two, confess he’d been lost in thought about the argument he’d had with the incompetent master chef a few minutes ago.

Of course, the disagreement hadn’t gone well for the chef. Julian had fired the belligerent man on the spot. It didn’t matter to Julian that he didn’t have any jurisdiction over the restaurant side of Reservations.

Julian rolled his eyes, then let one of those intensive, counseling-learned sighs build in his chest. He inhaled a deep centering breath and held it, closing his eyes to let the calm descend over him like a comforting blanket. The exhale gave way to a slow release of the tension that had invaded every muscle in his body. Weird how something so simple had become his key method for getting through his day-to-day life.

He opened his eyes, a smirk tugging at his lips as he turned toward the office desk, talking as he went. “I may have tuned you out. Did you say my raise for the new position is going to be S-class money or Bugatti money?”

Thane’s harsh laugh echoed from the speaker, the following harrumph let Julian know he’d played the moment properly. He’d distracted Thane. Julian was nothing if not capable of being a massive distraction.

“With as big of a pain in the ass as you are, you should pay me to work there. Why did I ever think it was a good idea to offer you a regional position? You used my good mood against me. I think you should lower your salary expectations to the range of a used Civic, maybe a late ’90s model if you’re lucky, and that’s only if you quit pissing everyone off.”

Julian’s grin brightened as he realized Thane didn’t know what had happened this morning with the so-called master chef. Thane couldn’t be any farther than about mid-flight on his way back to his corporate office in Ellicott City, Maryland. If Julian didn’t mention the incident, he might get a couple hours of peace before his boss exploded on him.

Though, sparring with Thane was one of Julian’s favorite pastimes. Especially now that Thane had finally eased off on treating Julian as if he would shatter at any given moment like a fragile piece of crystal teetering on the edge of a table. The kid-glove treatment had needed to end well before now. That was most likely the real reason he kept stepping outside his job description to make sure all the parts of Reservations worked cohesively with excellence as their goal. Julian wanted to prove to everyone around him that he wasn’t the same shell of a man they had first met. Or perhaps Julian was just a first-rate asshole. He casually shrugged a shoulder, liking that last option the best as he walked across the office to the desk chair.

“Answer my question, Cullen. What do you really know about the Marlboro Man?” Was that what they’d been talking about?

At the reminder, a new annoyance built inside Julian. Why did Thane even care? The Marlboro Man had easily passed the rigorous background checks to become a member. Julian had danced with the cowboy last night. End of story. Nothing more mattered.

“Stop digging around in my love life…” The words were out of his mouth before he could stop them. Who was he kidding? He didn’t have anything close to resembling a love life. Hell, he didn’t even have a relationship with his own damn hand. How pathetic was that?

Thane meant well, but it wasn’t enough to ease the sudden burst of frustration.

If Thane didn’t like the way Julian stepped outside of his position… Well, Julian was damn well sick of Thane Walker’s constant hovering.

“Unless you’ve changed your mind and we’re back on. All you gotta do is ask and you will receive. You know how well I can suck a di—”
Greer Lockhart set out to save the world from itself when he organized his first beach cleanup at the age of twelve. Now, as a uber-successful venture capitalist for eco-friendly startups, he doesn’t let anything get in the way of his goals—whether personal or professional. When a new fitness app schedules a site-wide cycle race, Greer’s competitive side won’t let him back down. Not even when his undivided attention turns to the one racer he can’t beat: Biker101.
Dallas Reigns learned a long time ago to keep his head low and his focus forward. He gives his all to a business he started with his brothers, BikeBro. But he worries his all might not be enough if they can’t gain traction before their financial ship sinks. A chance meeting with a hard-hitting venture capitalist is just what they need. Until his resistance is tested when the striking blond man shows interest in more than just his company, challenging all Dallas’s etched-in-stone boundaries.
When the illusion of Dallas’s life threatens to crumble under the weight of his own desire, can he find a way to fortify his iron will, or will Greer help him breakaway from the restraints of his past?

Books by Author:

Kindle Alexander

Chapter 1

June

“I think I got it,” Ducky yelled over the mind-jarring, ear-bleeding volume of Denzel Curry’s insane cover of “Bulls on Parade.” Even though Dallas Reigns only stood a few feet away from his youngest brother, he had to concentrate on each word spoken to ensure he’d heard correctly. Since there was no way to be certain, and turning down the music was never an option, Dallas moved closer to where his software-manipulating brother sat working.

Ducky’s head bobbed in a controlled head-banging motion, keeping time with the angry rapper and the menacing sounds of the electric guitar. Ducky liked it loud. Usually the rap-metal music played on a loop in his headphones, but not today.

Ducky had mad skill behind the computer screen. Dallas was convinced his little brother had never come across a code he couldn’t understand or eventually break. The gibberish filling the monitor was as rhythmic to Ducky as the music he listened to. Even though he created greatness by manipulating the digital language, it was the process to that greatness that left something to be desired. Dallas bent over Ducky’s shoulder. He stayed far enough out of reach to avoid any potential head-butting. Ducky sang along with the fiercely polemical lyrics as if they rang true to the very meaning of his soul.

“Try it!” Ducky called out.

“Now?” Dallas questioned, yelling into the sudden silence when the song abruptly came to an end. He and Ducky both lifted their gazes to the ceiling at the loud banging from the apartment above. Dallas’s cell phone alarm chimed. If their neighbors were already home and his alarm was going off, it meant he only had an hour or so before his shift at Elite Total Gym began. “Text Donny.”

Hurriedly, Dallas took his seat on the wired stationary bicycle facing the equally circuited wall mirror turned into a monitor and began to pedal. He pushed the power button on the gaming controller that had been rewired and duct-taped to the handlebars. With each turn of the pedal, his hopes and dreams began to materialize. Their hastily crafted logo appeared in the center of the mirror. A grin pulled at his lips at the next sound.

“Hello, Dallas, would you like to begin a live or pre-recorded class?” The electronic greeting used his profile name, welcoming him to the session.

Dallas used the buttons on the game controller to accept the invitation. Since this was all coming together right in the moment, their business had no previously recorded classes available. In the next few seconds, his single image in the mirror became two, splitting the screen with another administrative profile. At the top was Donny, their oldest brother. Dallas’s profile shifted to the bottom. Donny’s Texas-size grin matched Dallas’s.

“This is sick! You did it, Duck.” Donny’s pedaling came to a stop and his image began to fade, requiring him to continuously turn the wheel to stay connected.

“It’s a work in progress,” Ducky admitted, coming to stand right beside Dallas, his image now in the mirror with theirs.

“It’ll work out. I need to get all these wires figured out, but we’re getting there,” Donny added.

“Hey.” Donny’s wife Cari came into view on top of Donny’s image. A first, having all three on the same screen.

Ducky’s excitement couldn’t be contained. He jumped up, giving an all-air fist pump. “I told you I could do it!”

“Yeah, you did.” Dallas pushed another button as the stats of each member appeared in the upper right corner of the mirror. The mini leaderboard was designed to be an instructor’s tool, listing every member’s placement once the classes began.

The next button on the controller cleared all the statistical information from the mirror, leaving behind their images on the split screen. In theory, the mirror could hold up to two hundred profiles with specific stats, allowing the instructor to assist those members who might fall behind or need encouragement to help finish the session. All members would have the ability to set their profiles to either public or private, giving the rider a choice on how much information they wanted to share with the world.

Dallas sat back on the seat, letting his arms dangle by his sides, keeping his feet moving in slow motion to keep everyone together. The impromptu Thanksgiving table brainstorming was somehow coming to fruition right before their eyes. Yes, they had a ways to go, but apparently, if a person had luck, talent, and time on their hands, dreams did come true. They were living theirs right now.

“We could eventually sell the mirrors,” Ducky said excitedly.

“Absolutely. Then we could sell bikes, row machines, interactive exercise mats,” Cari added, saying all the things Dallas had been too afraid to speak aloud.

“Right now, let’s just focus on the original plan,” Donny cut in. He always had a way of making sure their excitement remained tamed.
Meet me @ The Hookup?
A well-deserved celebration is in order for attorney Easton Elliott. Everything is going as planned until a tempting glimpse of the past sidebars the handsome attorney’s party.
An unexpected invitation has linguist Grant Holt excited about the spur-of-the-moment rendezvous. But words are futile when he arrives to find there’s been a mix up.
A text, a celebration, and a misunderstanding all lead to…The Hookup

Books by Author:

Kindle Alexander

Chapter 1

Driving much faster than was safe, Grant Holt yanked the wheel of his truck and pressed the brakes to slow his speed as he almost missed the turn leading into the parking lot of The Hookup Brewpub. He should slow his ass down, but he was in a rush. It had been a long time since he’d been out like this, and excitement bubbled in his belly as he scanned the lot, looking for a place to park. He’d spent a lot of nights in this place. At least in the bar area, and he’d always had a really good time. He smiled to himself as a few of those encounters played through his head. Some of the best.

Grant scanned the lot for the perfect spot. The smile still lingered on his lips as he whipped into the closest space and shifted into park. Man, he liked the way his new truck handled. He checked the distance to the lamppost, hoping the glow of the nearby security light would be enough to deter any would-be thieves and his new baby would remain untouched until he was able to pick it up in the morning. Grant inhaled a deep breath. Maybe he was getting ahead of himself. Hopefully, if history repeated itself, he’d be Ubering home tonight.

Tilting his head, he lifted his gaze to the small rearview mirror and checked his appearance. He pushed a few strands of his unruly auburn hair back in place before taking a good look at his face. His eyes were puffy, probably because he’d been drinking a lot lately. Unemployment would do that to a guy… And just like that, the insecurity was back.

As hard as he tried to fight it, the feelings of inadequacy kept creeping right back into his brain. Shoving the thought away, he took one last look at himself then grabbed the handle and pushed open the truck door.

He’d worn his naval service dress white uniform tonight, which seemed to protest as he reached for his cap. He’d thought his pants had fit a little more snugly over his thighs when he’d pulled them on but hadn’t had time to dwell on the fit in his rush to get to the bar. Surely, they would stretch. Grant sighed, tucking the cap under his arm, and turned toward the front doors of the bar.

Not a lot had changed over the last ten years since he’d been a regular customer here. The smell of steaks cooking on the grill caused his stomach to rumble. The food at this place used to be really good. He might order an appetizer tonight; he wasn’t sure. The only thing he was certain of was that he would be drinking. He sure needed something to calm his nerves.

The soft rustle of leaves from the nearby trees took his mind off his anxious somersaulting stomach. The heat of summer had hopefully come to an end, fall had made an early appearance, making the weather very pleasant, especially for this time of year in Texas. The evening was cool, almost brisk, the welcome nip in the breeze felt wonderful against his skin, ramping up the level of his nervous excitement bubbling inside him.

He pressed the button on the small black key fob until the security system on his new truck chirped, then continued walking toward the door. The melancholy he’d been living under for the past few weeks kept nudging at his consciousness, creeping along behind him like an annoying reminder ready to pounce—these days, insecurity plagued him, lingering right underneath the surface. He needed to take a closer look at that, but not tonight. Tonight, he was here to have fun.

As he reached for the front door, the binding tug at his thighs drew his attention again. Grant looked down as he opened the door, staring at the material stretched across the upper half of his leg. Seriously, had he gained weight? The thought had him bending closer to inspect the uniform pants. Everything fit the same except for in the thighs. Had the material shrunk?

“Excuse me, buddy.”

Grant startled back into the world. Shit! He was in the way. His southern manners instinctively kicked in as he opened the door wider to allow the couple standing behind him to enter ahead of him, muttering a quick apology as they passed. Grant followed them inside, sidestepping the host stand and going straight for the large bar in the middle of the open room.

The place was near empty this early in the evening, but that wouldn’t last. The workday was coming to an end and the after-work happy-hour crowd would fill the room—they loved this place. He had too back in the day. A smile ghosted his lips and he shook his head at the sudden rush of memories. There were many. Funny how things seemed the same on the exterior. He couldn’t say the same for himself. Time had changed so much in his life since then.
