From USA Today Bestselling authors Ker Dukey and K Webster comes a new, dark romance standalone…

We have a reputation for a reason.

In a world where power and fear reign supreme, we stand unchallenged.

Those who try to take from us rarely live to tell the tale.

Ruthless. Unapologetic. Killers.

People come from all over to drink in our clubs. To fight in our arenas. And indulge in our wicked company.

We are desire and danger intertwined.

Our empire is built on status all the way to the top of the world.

Inseparable brothers.

Rich. Powerful. Revered.

We only ever needed each other… until we found her.

Captivating and wild, she embedded herself under our skin. We gave her everything we had and everything we were. And what did she do with our precious vulnerabilities?

She took them and ran, assuming she could hide from us forever.

But you can’t hide from the Madmen when we’ve spent our entire lives perfecting the hunt.

The Games of Madmen is a dark, MMF standalone spinoff from The V Games by Ker Dukey and K Webster. It’s violent, filthy, and thrilling. Let the games continue…

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Cast of Characters Refresher

Vasiliev Family – (V Games Host – drugs/human trafficking/arms dealing)

Yuri - Father

Yuri, the patriarch of his family, is the original creator and host of the notorious V Games, a high-stakes competition that puts contestants and captives in a brutal game of survival for the viewing pleasure of the most powerful and influential families.

Yuri orchestrated the murder of Vera, his wife and mother of his children, viewing her decision to leave him and run away as a violation of his authority and honor.

Deeply ingrained in his misogynistic beliefs, Yuri perceives women as inferior and unworthy of respect. This toxic perspective intensified when his oldest son, Vlad, chose Alyona to represent The V Games, a move that Yuri vehemently opposed. Unable to tolerate the thought of Alyona, whom he deemed unfit, gaining recognition and influence, he resorted to extreme measures and put out a hit on her during The Games, with the intention of reasserting his control and dominance. This attempt failed.

Vera - Mother

Vera left Yuri shortly after the twins, Viktor and Vika, were born due to her fear of Yuri’s reaction if he ever learned that she was having an affair. She was subsequently murdered a couple of years later, and her secret child, whom she shared with Andru Vetrov, was taken to a nunnery.

Vlad - Oldest Son

Vlad is a shareholder in The V Games. He is married to Irina Volkov, who recently gave birth to their first son, Vsevolod.

Vlad insisted on having Alyona Voskoboynikov enter The V Games as a form of retribution for her father’s significant debt to the powerful Vasiliev family. This decision was viewed as a harsh punishment for Alyona, who was only nineteen at the time and a non-fighter.

Vika - Twin Sister of Viktor and Younger Sister to Vlad

Vika attempted to have her twin murdered. Her motivation stemmed from betrayal after discovering that Viktor had been secretly sleeping with Niko Vetrov, Ven Vetrov’s younger brother, and her then boyfriend. In a calculated move to eliminate the people who betrayed her, she planned a failed attempt on Viktor’s life but orchestrated Niko’s murder during The V Games.

Vika later found herself in an arranged marriage to Ruslan Vetrov, Ven’s youngest brother, a union forced upon her by circumstance and family expectations. However, she sought solace in an affair with Vas Volkov.

When Ven uncovered the truth about Vika’s murder of Niko, he demanded retribution. The powerful Vasiliev family supported his quest for vengeance, leading to Vika being divorced by Ruslan. Then, she was taken captive and locked away by Ven, who was determined to settle the score. Vas later had Vika rescued and smuggled out of the country.

Viktor- Twin Brother to Vika

Viktor, twin brother of Vika, once believed to be dead. He was saved in The V Games by their father. However, the outside world still assumes he perished in those deadly competitions. Yuri vehemently disapproved of Viktor's sexuality and harbored a deep-seated belief that it was better for his own reputation if everyone thought Viktor was dead rather than accept him for who he is. After his rescue, Viktor was relocated to the United States and given a new identity where he now goes by a couple of names: “legal name” Cassian Harris and the name Tanner to friends. Embracing this fresh start, Tanner opened a nightclub called The Vault.

Darya - Youngest Half-Sister of Vlad, Rodion, and Zahkar

Darya is the secret love child of Vera Vasiliev and Andru Vetrov. She was raised in hiding, her existence concealed from the world. Growing up, she endured a life of neglect and abuse. She was later used as a manipulation tool and weapon against Yuri, who also abused her and was oblivious to her true identity. Despite her troubled upbringing, she found an unlikely friendship with Alyona and found solace and happiness in her relationship with Vas Volkov.

Vetrov Family – (human trafficking/legitimate real estate and developers, alcohol industry)

Yegor – Father (59) Deceased

Anna – Mother (45) Deceased

Veniamin “Ven” – Eldest of Yegor and joint head of the family alongside his uncle Andru.

Ven is a shareholder in The V Games and is married to Diana, the past winner of The V Games, and founder of Rainbow Vodka.

Niko – Second son – Deceased

Murdered. His death was orchestrated by Vika.

Ruslan – Third Brother

Ex husband of Vika.

Andru – Brother of Yegor and now joint head of the Vetrov family

Andru’s wife, who was also Rodion’s mother, tragically took her own life shortly after they adopted Zahkar. Amid his grief, Andru became involved in a romantic affair with Vera Vasiliev, the wife of his friend and business acquaintance, Yuri. This affair was brought to light nineteen years later when they discovered he fathered a child, Darya, with Vera.

Rodion - Son of Andru

Rodion is a prominent figure known as one of the Madmen of Moscow, alongside his adopted brother, Zahkar. They’re often referred to collectively as The Twins. He is co-owner of many business ventures including joint ownership of the brand Rainbow Vodka. He is also co-owner of the renowned Klub Chernyy, a hub for illegal fighting events. As a skilled fighter, Rodion has honed his abilities through rigorous martial arts training and competition and has developed a reputation as someone to be feared both in and outside the ring. The Twins have an unwavering bond and an unconventional relationship where they only ever share lovers. Rodion and Zahkar played a crucial role in preparing Alyona for The V Games and inevitably caught feelings toward her. He and Zahkar orchestrated a rescue of Alyona from The Games.
This is a fun and sexy MMF Christmas 40K novella, tailored for those of you who embrace their naughty side and long to hear the praise, “good girl.”

Tristan Carter had always loathed Christmas until Poppy Clark showed up to the Christmas office party wrapped as a Christmas present, complete with a red bow.

Tristan instantly formed an unhealthy obsession with his temporary assistant, the thought of unwrapping her becomes a temptation Tristan can’t resist.

He’s vowed to keep her firmly in the “don’t f*ck” zone. After all, she’s a good girl—not the type who likes whispered praise while on her knees. Or so he assumes.

Trapped in a broken-down elevator with his best friend Vance and the enthralling Poppy, he quickly realizes she’s not the fragile flower he thought she was. And she desires him just as intensely as he craves her.

When Poppy reveals that she needs a place to stay, he impulsively invites her to spend the holidays with him, only he doesn’t live alone, and he and Vance like to share more than just their apartment.

This is a fast paced insta-love/l*st 40k Novella. Merry Christmas

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

ONE

Tristan

Christmas music is driving me insane. Why is it that we hear the same few songs played on an endless loop until my ears feel like they’re about to bleed? Doesn’t anyone ever make new holiday music?

“Good morning, sir,” Mike says, and I greet him with a forced smile as I pass by his office heading to my own.

Walking past Linda’s desk, I snatch the jar of candy canes she keeps on there then push into my office. As soon as my door clicks shut, I collapse into my chair and loosen my tie, feeling the weight of the holiday season pressing down on me. Setting the jar on my desk, I unscrew the lid, pop a candy out, rip the wrapper off, then shove the offensive sweet into my mouth, hook end first.

I have a deep-seated aversion to Christmas. I can’t understand why it has to stretch on for weeks. Year after year, there’s a massive buildup of excitement, followed by a disappointing anticlimax. And no one wants to work. Instead, they engage in endless gatherings, seizing every opportunity to drink and overeat. Jesus Christ, I’m a fucking Grinch, but when you grow up in poverty, without a family to celebrate with, Christmas can feel like a cruel reminder of everything you lack.

A light knock at my door momentarily draws me from my negative thoughts. “Come in.”

The door opens, and Poppy pokes her head through, a curtain of silky caramel waves falling over her shoulder. “I brought you cocoa.” She smiles, entering. Delight mixed with a heavy dose of lust barrels through me when her large green eyes soak me in. She bites her plump bottom lip, presumably to hide her amusement when I balk at the cocoa offer.“I’m playing, it’s a black americano with an extra shot.”

I like the way she’s teasing me. And my dick likes the sight of her teeth marks dented in that bottom lip.

I want them to be mine.

Poppy has been working here for three months while Robert, my very male, very not fuckable assistant, recovers from knee surgery. To keep from becoming a cliché asshole who fucks his staff, I always made a point not to hire female assistants. With a loan from my best friend and dream to make something of myself, I built this company from the ground up. CZH holdings is now a unicorn company, still self-owned and valued at over $1 billion. I won’t let anything tarnish my business, I worked too hard for it. So any in house fucking is forbidden. Even though I want to spread Poppy out on my desk and eat her pussy until she drips down my chin, I won’t. Because sweet, pretty Poppy, with those large green eyes, small button nose, and luscious, juicy lips, is way off limits. No matter how much her creamy skin beckons for me to turn it red with my handprints.

I bet she’s never been spanked before. I once bumped into her while she was out with her fiancé. He looks like the preppy type who would recoil at anything not vanilla. I wonder if he fucks her slow, whispering sweet words into her ear until her breath hitches and she comes on a soft moan.

“You’re stress sucking again.” She taps the end of the cane protruding past my lips with her bright-red fingernail. The red is new, she usually has a pale color on her nails. Not that I’m a stalker or anything.

Stress sucking. Vance would get a real laugh out of that terminology. Standing so close, her scent encompasses me, and I bask in it. She smells sweeter than the candy, like cherries and vanilla.

I want to lick her all over.

“Do you need anything else?” she asks as I shift my lap under the desk so she doesn’t see the semi-hard cock wanting to break free and dive down her throat. She’d look good with tears on her cheeks. There would be no softness with me, just hard, punishing, raw screams. “Sir?” She folds her arms over her ample chest.

And there’s one of my favorite words.

Christ.

Clearing my throat, I grit my teeth. “No, nothing else. Thank you, Poppy.” Unless I break my rule and you want to stress suck on something. I wave a hand to the door for her to leave, watching her curvy ass sway in a silk skirt as she does and berating myself internally for my thoughts.

She wears appropriate office attire but always pairs her outfits with ridiculously high stilettos, which don’t match her innocent demeanor and drives me fucking nuts. Poppy is the damn reason I’ve taken a liking to these holiday candies. They stop me from saying and doing something I may not regret. Dammit, I was stress sucking, and I’m pretty sure Poppy wouldn’t be a sucking type of woman.
BOOK 3 IN THE EPIC, KINGS OF SIN SERIES.

Choices are what make us human.

We all get to choose our path and shape our future. Right?

Bullshit.

I didn’t choose to love my brother’s best friend.

A man who breaks my heart repeatedly, only to lure me back into his bed with false promises of a future together.

Cutter is a Kings of Sin club member, and that comes before everything else.

He’s also a selfish, heartless asshole who keeps secrets from everyone he claims loyalty to.

Loving him is not a choice. It’s a curse—a curse I am determined to break.

The heart wants what the heart wants, or so they say, so I’ll have to cut mine from my chest until there’s nothing of him left in there.

If only our choices were free from consequence

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

PART ONE

THE PAST.

FOUR YEARS AGO…

CHAPTER 1

SINNER

Four years ago…

LIAM “CUTTER” ELLIS

Black blankets the sky. The air trembles with the rumbling of our bike engines as we file into the compound, heading straight for the outhouse at the far end of the grounds. Easing my bike up beside Callan’s, I kill the engine and dismount as Monster backs one of the club trucks up to the entrance door. Jumping out, he pops the trunk, and a squeal whines from within.

Jack Bolden’s thin, crumpled body jolts to life, his hands spanning out in a defensive pose. “Please, I’m sorry. What did I do?”

“Get him inside,” Callan demands, smacking his fist against the roof of the truck. Monster and I drag the piece of shit out by his arms as he flails and begs.

“I’ll snap your twig of an arm off if you keep wiggling like a fucking worm,” Monster seethes, gripping him harder. A whimpering mewl passes the guy’s lips.

I hate the weak. The slimy, seedy bastards who like to inflict pain and suffering but can’t take it. The reaper always comes to collect on your sins, motherfucker. Today, we’re his soldiers.

Callan punches a code into the keylock, and the door releases with a click. A waft of damp, stale air trickles out from inside. This place hasn’t seen action in a while.

Jack begins to tremble as we drag him through the narrow passageway into an imposing concrete prison that’s broken many a brave man. Jack isn’t brave. The little weasel already pissed his pants, and we haven’t done anything yet. Shoving him inside the room, the overhead lights detect the motion and turn on automatically, bathing the area with a yellow tinge. Jack hustles to put space between us, scurrying like a trapped rat seeking escape, his wide eyes taking in the imposing walls echoing of past horrors, leaving his face drained of color.

The room has a metal table, a single chair, a slightly sloped floor with a drain in the center, and shelves and cabinets against the far end house tools to aid in retrieving information from the flesh—there’s no mistaking what happens within these walls.

My brothers circle him like vultures as he cowers against the wall like a beaten dog. Fear is reasonable and wise. He should be scared.

“Please don’t hurt me.” Pussy.

Power crackles the air as my rage amplifies, tightening the muscles beneath my skin. I bet the girl he attacked wished for the same mercy. He showed her none. I take a step closer, looming over him with intense wrath. His withering gaze cracks, and a single tear cuts a path down his cheek.

“Please.”

There’s no forgiveness. Only retribution and pain.

“You know why we’re here?” Callan’s rough voice breaks through the tension as he motions for Monster to bring the interrogation chair over.

The little pervert’s feeble whimpering draws a growl from Callan. “Answer me.” He demands.

Shaking his head, Jack watches Monster drag the metal chair across the room, filling our ears with a jarring screech that scrapes against the headache building behind my eyes. Placing the chair in the center of the room, right over the drain, Monster grins, the sinister curve of his lips menacing even to me.

I stalk our prey as he attempts to evade me, grip him by the neck in a bone-crushing hold, and throw him into the steel frame of the chair, making it almost topple over. Dropping to my haunches, I strap the leather restraints around his ankles and wrists, pinning him in place, my headache intensifying with every click of the buckles. I don’t like drawn-out torture. My blade is thirsty for the taste of blood: quick, painful when needed, satisfying. There’s something serene about hearing the rattle of that last breath in a sudden kill.

Monster is the opposite, and it looks like we’re doing this his way.

Clenching Jack’s jaw in a powerful grip, Callan leans in close, fuming through gritted teeth. “You’re a rapist.”

The words bounce around the room, raising our hackles. We aren’t good men. We all have blood on our hands. But only sick fucking cowardly bastards rape.

“No. No, no, no,” Jack splutters, sweat breaking across his brow.

“A sick predator who took advantage of an innocent girl while she lay unconscious,” Callan adds, releasing him with a sneer.

A video started circulating of a college student reduced to nothing more than a limp body, appearing more dead than alive, in a motel room with this piece of shit forcing himself on her. Turns out, she’s the niece of a friend of the club, Ray, who owns the bar claimed by the Kings. The girl was nineteen and attempted to take her own life when the video was shared and uploaded across social media. She’s the same age as Callan’s little sister. Even looks a bit like her.

Anger simmers within me, disgust burning my skin. My palms become clammy, aching to clench my blade and cut into this motherfucker.
I planned to get an in, to the Kings of Sin Clubhouse.

Stay under the radar.

Learn information.

Survive.

I came for vengeance.

Not friendship. Not a family. Not love

Yet here I am, drowning in all of those things.

Callan ‘Pain’ Cox was supposed to be the enemy.

But I’ve become addicted to his touch—taste—punishment.

With my secrets laid bare, those around me continue to hide theirs.

Betrayal comes in many forms, but nothing cuts deeper than when it’s from someone you least expect.

I came for vengeance.

I start a war.

This is book 2 (Book 1 should be read first in order to understand book 2)

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

CHAPTER 1

QUESTIONS

ROGUE

Most women would run away now or throw a fit. Fuck that. Fuck her and fuck him.

It’s painful, but I’ll lick my wounds later when they can’t see the damage they’ve evoked.

“Hope you like how I taste,” I lie. It’s petty but gets the reaction I want. A spear of insinuation thrown across the room, stabbing her through the chest. Hurts, doesn’t it, swamp troll?

A thousand lies race to my mind to make him jealous with, but I won’t be that woman.

Tears burn the backs of my eyes, not sorrow, rage. Why mess with me if he was going to end up here with her?

Stupid. I’m so fucking stupid.

The walls close in around me, the windows to the fort I built in my head are shattering, shredding me with the pieces. I left the door open, and the devil walked straight in consuming and now destroying what was left of my already damaged heart.

Dammit, how could I let this happen?

“It’s not what you think,” Callan says, almost bored. He zips his fly and glances at me, then at Kitty, who’s seething, glaring at him with her arms crossed.

Isn’t that what they all say? “It’s not what you think.” Jackass.

“Then what is it?” Kitty asks the burning question that’s scorching through my brain like wildfire.

Georgina stands wearing only a towel. She curls her arm around Callan’s and strokes his shoulder in ownership.

Nausea stirs my guts as flames lick my anger.

Pinching his nose, he sighs. “She came in to clean up…”

I’ve been there. I’ve showered in his shower to clean up, and probably wore that same towel. I want to launch something at them both. Something heavy with sharp edges. Argh, I hate this. I need to escape.

“No one cares,” I lie. “Talk to your sister. She has questions you might actually answer. I’ll be at my motel when you’re ready to answer mine.” I scoff, giving Georgina one last look and forcing a smirk from my lips before turning to leave. If he wants to fuck poison, then let the venom take him out. I’m done. They can both kiss my ass.

“Rogue.” He says my name like a warning.

Fuck no, I will not heel at his boot. I spent too long being a doormat for Tyler. I won’t be one for him too. I’m not that girl anymore.

“Let her go, Callan. She doesn’t belong here anyway.” Georgina purrs.

Maybe she’s right. I don’t stick around to hear more, but their raised voices hum down the hallway as I depart. I’ve been stabbed with hot pokers and doused in acid. I need to sleep for a thousand years and forget I ever met the man whose road name now makes sense.

Pain.

He inflicts it with deadly precision.

The party has spilled outside. Laughter carries in the air while my insides rot. Fresh oxygen fills my lungs, helping to clear the alcohol fog. I desperately try to cling to my pride as I stroll up to the gates. They open for me to leave, and even though I’m choosing to go, I feel dejected all the same. This must be how club sluts feel the next day, used up and sent on their way. It sucks.

Tears I’ve been holding back drip down my cheeks. The cool breeze scatters goosebumps up my arms. I clutch them around myself to ward off the chill. The vast trees sway, whispering to the full moon. It’s so big, it’s almost intrusive in the night sky, a reminder of how small we all are. How fragile.

Thoughts manifest without permission, filling my head with visions of Callan with her, inside her—holding her—loving her. I could rip from my skin and howl at the moon like a fucking wolf. I don’t want to feel this way. I can’t take any more pain. I want to cut it out until I’m numb.

I don’t know how far away the motel is on foot, but I don’t stop moving. I pick up my pace until I’m jogging and then flat-out running, putting the club far behind me. Him behind me.

When I get to the closed road sign at the bottom of the road, I slow to a stop, gasping for breath as my muscles scream in protest of the impromptu cardio. My insides twist, and saliva floods my mouth. Acid burns a path up my throat, coating my tongue. Retching, I double over as sickness spills from my lips to the dirt at my feet. Gathering my hair into my fist, I purge everything inside my stomach until there's nothing left.

If only cleansing my heart was as easy.

My legs feel shaky when I begin walking again. There’s an ache throbbing across my ribs and my mouth tastes like I’ve been drinking toilet water.

Swiping another errant tear, I blow out a shaky breath. My reasons for going to the Kings got too clouded, and I allowed them to fill all the empty spaces inside me. How foolish I’ve been. Look where it’s left me? Alone in the dark, hurting.

On the eve of her wedding, Rogue learns darkness is always waiting to snuff out the light and happily-ever-afters aren’t fated for girls like her.

It wasn’t supposed to be this way.
I came to the Kings of Sin MC for revenge—to make them pay for their sins in blood.
I didn’t account for him. The vice president, Callan “Pain” Cox, is darkness and depravity
wrapped in a beautiful, compelling package.
And I’ve become addicted.
I need to hate him.
I should hate him.
But it’s hard to hate someone when you’re fighting every part of yourself not to fall in love
with them.
The lines are blurring, and I forget whose side I’m on.
When the world around me erupts into chaos, I must decide where I belong. Better yet—who
I belong with.
Because when Callan finds out who I am, it will be my sins paid for in blood.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

CHAPTER 1

HAPPILY EVER…

PRINCESS/ROGUE

Unlucky. Isn’t that what they say when the groom sees the bride the night before the wedding?

Tyler’s tongue sweeps through my mouth, the growl in the back of his throat demanding as he grinds his crotch against the apex of my thighs. I came to the clubhouse to look for my sister—and Tyler caught me. He’s a shark smelling blood in the water. There’s no circling, just a straight-out attack. After he tossed me over his shoulder to the cheers of his brothers, he marched me to his room, and now I’m pinned against the bedroom wall. Captured prey for his devouring.

“Let’s get married right now so I can fuck you sore tonight,” he says with a husky grumble, cupping my tits and squeezing to the point of pain. I moan on cue, rotating my hips to graze the bulge hardening against me.

I’ve studied Tyler over the years. He’s all about precise movements, moaning at the right time with a congratulations afterward and a sated sigh. It would shock the shit out of him to know I sometimes go to the bathroom after we fuck, to finish myself off.

“Come lie down with me.” He tugs on my arm, dragging me toward his bed. The heavy scent of booze, smoke, and bad decisions lingers in the room. The sheets are rumpled and stained. The last dregs from a beer bottle leak onto the carpet from the trash can beside the bed. Gross. I’d rather be home with Harley, having a girls’ night.

“I came to find my sister,” I protest between kisses, attempting to wiggle free and failing. Tyler is a good-looking man and fifteen years my senior. He has a confidence about him that you only get with experience.

His sandy brown hair is pulled back from his face and tied into a ponytail at the nape of his neck. The scruff of his beard hasn’t seen a razor in weeks, but the scrape of it is familiar and almost comforting as he deepens our kiss. The taste of liquor burns my tongue from his evening of drinking in celebration of his last night of being “single.”

Such a joke.

There’s no way Tyler will be faithful. He hasn’t been up to this point. Club sluts aren’t shy when gossiping about him.

If only I could magic up enough emotion to care.

Resting his forehead against mine, he closes his eyes to catch his breath, offering me a reprieve from his drunken onslaught.

“Your sister isn’t here.” He wrinkles his brow as his hands creep down to grab my hips, the possession and need bruising as he digs the pads of his fingers into my supple flesh. I like the bite of pain, and he knows it. “If she is, I haven’t seen her,” he adds.

Shit. I thought for sure Harley would be here. She lives for club parties.

He adds pressure to my hips when I remain silent, and a moan slips past my lips. “Stay the night,” he begs, lust pouring from him like a teen boy on prom night.

Music vibrates the walls. The brothers’ raucous laughter carries down the hallway, reminding us there’s a party happening a few feet away. “You’re missing the fun,” I tempt, my fingers dancing over the president patch on his cut. Leaning forward, I kiss the club colors. I love this club, I love him, but it’s not an overwhelming love. It’s a familiar love. A love you have when you’ve known someone your whole life—grown up with them—a family love.

“You’re the only fun I care about.” He exhales, thrusting his hips forward.

“It’s bad luck,” I tell him, biting my lip.

“Like you give a shit about tradition,” he scoffs, taking my earlobe between his teeth. “I’ve fucked you every which way from Sunday before this wedding, what’s one more time?”

I don’t give a shit about tradition. But I do want to find Harley. We made a pact to spend tonight doing sisterly stuff. This wedding has been coming for a long time, but there’s a hummingbird inside me flapping her rampant wings, trying to free herself from the cage I’ve trapped her in. I need my sister. I need tonight without him.

Pushing the unwanted thoughts away, I refocus on Tyler. “She hasn’t been home since the party yesterday.” My tone is firmer. I manage to loosen his grip on me with hands pushing at his shoulders.

He sighs and releases me, backing away. Slipping off his cut, he drags his t-shirt over his head, displaying the ink decorating his toned torso.

“It’s my last night as a Stewart,” I pout. I sway my hips as I walk toward him. My hands come up to stroke his now bare chest. The enormous skull tattoo inked on his skin, complete with devil horns, comes to life under my touch. “Tomorrow, I’m all yours. Forever,” I say, ignoring the pit widening in my stomach at the reality of those words.
My brother once told me, it’s not murder if your hand is forced.

But he doesn’t know the secrets I keep.
I wasn’t always like this. Angry. Rebellious. A killer.

The world I was born into made me this way, pushed me to become what I am. Killers aren’t born,

they're made.

And do you want to know one of my secrets?

I like it.

The kill. The violence. The vengeance.
It excites me. Empowers me. Feeds me.

Now I’ve earned my place with the Royal Bastards MC, I hope they’re prepared for the chaos I bring.

It’s time to raise a little HAVOC.

This title is a NOVELLA

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

CHAPTER

ONE

PAST.

LILY

Fifteen years old…

“Drink up, Lily.”

No.

“I don’t want to.” My hand tightens around the glass, my knuckles turning white. The snowy crushed tablets swirl in the water, settling at the bottom of the glass. The air condenses, suffocating me. Yellow flowers on the wallpaper wilt before my eyes. The old wooden chair digs into my thighs, my foot tapping manically beneath the table. The dull, outdated kitchen makes me want to vomit.

I hate it here.

The words don’t make it past my lips, fear holding them hostage. The last time I spoke those words, I couldn’t walk for a week. Grandma’s paddle hangs on the wall like a medal, mocking me from across the room.

“It’s better for you if you drink it,” Grandma tells me. I know she’s right. It will silence the voices. Block out the pain inflicted in the dark. Drown out the betrayal.

No.

“Drink it.” She glowers, pushing my head toward the glass, her jagged nails scraping against my scalp. Tears burn the corners of my eyes. My stomach growls, wanting to eat the small portion of food before me. Ever since I hit fourteen and my boobs became noticeable, Grandma began limiting my meals, like that was the reason I was changing into a woman. Now, my bones protrude from the skin. I can’t stand to look at myself in the mirror.

“Drink, Lily.” Her voice is sharp, stabbing into me. Wounding.

Please don’t make me.

To drink this poison makes me complicit in some way.

“Drink or you won’t see your brother this weekend.”

A pit opens in my chest. I don’t want to see Jameson. What if he sees the dirt on my skin, the sin, the disgusting stains that litter my soul?

“No!” I shout, throwing the glass across the kitchen. It slams against the fridge and shatters, making a loud sound that shocks us both. My heart pounds behind my ribcage. Panic ravages my thoughts. My bladder threatens to empty on the kitchen chair.

“You ungrateful little devil child. Get to your room now,” she scorns snatching my plate away.

I need that food.

My hands shoot out to stop her, but it’s too late. My fingers thud against the tablecloth, the plate out of reach.

“Room. Now.” She jabs a finger, and my breath hitches. I look at the door but don’t move. Gentle tremors shake my hands.

Kill her, Lily.

The thought creeps in from the shadows of my mind, rolling in like a tide to wash all the fear away, all the pain she’s caused me.

“What’s going on?” Grandpa’s raspy voice calls from the basement. My stomach twists. Nerves chew beneath the skin, trying to get out.

“Do you want me to tell him to come up here?” she asks, narrowing her small, crinkly blue eyes at me.

My voice catches in my throat. I want to scream, Why! Instead, I say, “No,” shaking my head vehemently.

Pushing the chair back from the table, I stand and hurry down the hall, closing the door to my room as soon as I enter. Slumping back against it, tears fall down my cheeks as the lock clicks into place.

This room is full of furniture, dolls, soft toys, but I’m hollow. Candy cotton pink walls and embroidery drapes left untouched from when my mother slept inside these four walls. They do nothing to offer comfort. Mama’s six feet under, rotting in a casket.

The world was too much for her.

I was too much.

How could she leave me to this fate?

I don’t know how much time passes, but I know something bad is coming. The wait is almost too much to bear.

Sitting in the corner of my room, I grip a soft teddy bear until pain aches my fingertips. The chime of the doorbell signals the visitor who haunts my nightmares.

Please go away.

Please go away.

Mumbled voices followed by footfalls stopping outside my room blast like a siren in my head.

The latch clicks. The handle drops, and so does my stomach.

No. Go away.

Panic seizes my joints. I can’t move.

The door creaks open, the imposing figure filling the space. “Hello, little love.”

Sickness roils my stomach.

“I want the drink,” I plead, the words clawing up my throat.

The man steps into the room, licking his lips. “Remember, no visible bruises,” Grandpa tells him, he and Grandma standing behind the man looking in at me.
Animal, my prez and the owner of this place, would be pissed if he knew there was no one at the front desk. This place is becoming famous. Fast. The waitlist for a custom helmet is years. Animal opened two more shops in the last eighteen months, and it still hasn’t been enough to meet the demand.

The space is large and airy. Custom artwork interweaves into the floor and walls, matching the glass-cased helmets bordering the shop floor. A vintage Harley Davidson is suspended from the ceiling. The soft hum of classic rock croons from unseen speakers. Even though it’s a biker shop, I feel out of place. The place screams class and cash. I’m not hurting for money, but I don’t live that life.

“I’m eighteen now, Jameson.” A high-pitched squeal ricochets off the walls as a small brunette comes through to the shop. Brown doe eyes clash with mine, a sickly smile curling her lip as her gaze roams over my body. I’m a good-looking bastard, and it’s a curse. A man like me needs to go unnoticed, but that’s impossible when women don’t look past the pretty face to the dark empty beast beneath. Women are worse than men with that shit.

Leaning across the counter, her top gapes, giving me an eyeful of her flat chest. She twirls a strand of hair around her finger. “Hey. You want help with something?” Her eyes drop to my junk. “Anything?”

She looks twelve.

“Lily, you little brat, you’re fucking done,” a gravelly voice booms. A brute of a man appears through the same door, his shadow falling over her. His deadly scowl pings from her backside curved over the counter to me standing here.

“She’s a kid,” he rumbles, like I need to be told.

Leveling him with an unaffected glare, I say, “I’m here to pick up a package, not a toothpick.”

The skinny brat gasps and stands up straight, her hand flying to what can barely be called a hip. “Are you going to let him insult me like that?”

“Lily, I swear to fucking Christ, between you and your sister, I’m going gray.” The mammoth man runs a hand through his hair, his heavy beard doing nothing to hide his grimace. “Idiot,” he bellows.

Another brother appears from across the shop who I recognise, he was a prospector last time I was in town. He looks at the girl and rolls his eyes. “Don’t ask me to babysit again.”

“You’ll do as you’re fucking told.”

“Get one of the prospects to do it.” Idiot is young, his patch fresh.

“You’re barely out of your prospect cut. Shut your fucking mouth and respect the chain of command before I beat you to death.”

“Harsh,” Idiot states, dead fucking serious. I almost laugh. Is this a biker shop?

“I’m not going with him. He smells weird.” The girl huffs.

“Fuck my fucking life.” The man exhales. “You asked for a chance to work here and couldn’t manage a week. You’ll do as you’re fucking told or I’ll call your grandma to come get your ass.”

“Can’t the pretty one take me?”

“Nope,” someone shouts from the back room. The pretty one, I assume.

I’m over the whole fucking scene and just want to get what I came for. “I’m here to pick up a package from Rage.”

The big guy drops his eyes to my cut, reading my road name and jerking his head. I’m not home a lot. It’s been years since I’ve stepped foot in the clubhouse here in Little Rock, but I’m well-known and respected by my brothers. “Go through the back. PB will get you straight.”

Rounding the counter, the skinny brat steps in my path. “I’ll have you know, cocktail wieners come on toothpicks,” she emphasizes, referring to my earlier comment. I scoff under my breath. I’m not sure if she’s implying my dick is small, but I admire her spunk all the same. Maybe once she’s grown out of her bratty stage, I’ll give her something to choke on.

“OUT!” The giant roars to her, his arm outstretched toward the door.

“Calm down, big bro. Your forehead vein is showing.”

Thank fuck I don’t have siblings.

I find who I assume to be PB taping up a box in the back, his long hair and pretty face giving him away. “Hey, man.” He jerks a chin.

“I’m here to pick up a package from Rage.”

“Oh, yeah. Carnage, right?”

“Right.”

He opens a drawer and shoves an envelope across a desk. “Here you go.”

Grabbing up the envelope, I slip it inside my cut and leave without another word.

Chapter Two

Carnage

Blood clings to the walls, ceiling, and carpets of the hotel room. The figure on the bed once resembled a man. He suffered like my instructions stated. I don’t know why my brothers wanted this man dead. I didn’t ask. I opened the envelope and did the job.

The shocked eyes of the man who promised me safety will be the last thing I ever see.

The intensity steals my breath.

My mouth opens, but only a squeaked, inhuman noise exits.

My sight becomes cloudy, tears welling and falling to my cheeks.

Is this how Mom felt?

Cold…the darkness closing in…

I’m going to die here.

My chest aches as the pounding slows.

Thud.

Thud.

Thud.

The world spins, fading…

How can it end like this? I was a queen—his queen—and it will be his kingdom that kills me.

Chapter Two

A couple of months before…

Alyssa

Burying my mother left me with a sense of freedom. I could finally breathe, and that opened a pocket of guilt inside my chest.

I need to get out of here.

She was ill for such a prolonged period, I came to terms with the fact that she was dying a long time ago, but I didn’t think it would be so slow, so degrading.

She withered away painfully, lost herself day by day, until all that was left was a pathetic carcass unable to even relieve her bladder on her own terms.

I’m so glad she’s gone.

Those thoughts fill out that pocket, expanding within me.

Guilt. Guilt. Guilt.

I’m drowning in it.

“Is it wrong to feel like she died well before she stopped breathing?” I wonder aloud, the memory of her ragged breathing and coughing rattling her chest bone lingering within me.

She sounded like a spluttering generator out of gas. The noise still haunts my dreams.

Clint, my best friend for over a decade, looks at me. “No. Her battle was long and hard on you both,” he reassures, like a good friend should.

Though, I’m not sure if he means hard on me and Mom or me and Dad.

My dad will be fine. They practically became strangers over the years, two ships docking at the same port but completely separate entities.

Sometimes I wonder if they only stayed together because of some messed up sense of duty they thought they owed me…or themselves…or the world.

The truth is, Mom resented Dad for ruining her chance to take her dance career to the next level.

Resentment is corrosive. It rotted away inside her until all that remained was a bitter, angry woman.

She channeled all that poison into me, molding me into what she wanted for herself.

“Make a wish,” Clint says, pointing up at a shooting star.

We lay in the field at the back of my house under the inky night sky, the humming of crickets all around us, night animals coming awake in the woods at the border of our property.

Clint’s hand nudges mine, hoping I’ll take it, but I won’t. No matter how hard I wish I had those feelings for him, I don’t.

If anything, he bores me. But it would crush him to know I hate these nights with him. I only used to come out here to escape the sounds of mom’s death rattle.

It would be easier if my heart wanted him—hell, even my body—but neither are drawn to him.

“So, when do you think you’ll be back?”

Never.

I tilt my head toward him, taking him in, memorizing his features to keep me company on lonely days in the big city.

He’s handsome in a typical kind of way.

His wavy blond hair casually falls over his forehead, making it hard not to notice his pretty blue eyes with flecks of lighter shades throughout the irises.

Playing lacrosse has given him an athletic physique most girls get giddy over.

He’s well-liked, popular, and could have any girl he chooses, but he’d rather hang out with me.

I don’t see why he even likes me—I don’t even like me half the time.

We don’t have a lot in common. I dedicate most of my time to dance, and he just slots himself in my life wherever he can.

He’s lived across the small lake from me since I can remember, always joking we’re the real-life Dawson and Joey from Dawson’s Creek, a show we watched re-runs of with Mom while she slowly faded away.

I’m no Joey, though. There’s no deep-seated crush, no good girl virgin waiting for him to notice me.

He did notice me.

The looks he thought were subtle, the brush of his hands against my body at any opportunity, the anger toward anyone who would flirt with me.

I’ve known for a long time he’s wanted more, but the very thought of settling here, living the same life my mother did, cripples me with dread.

Guilt. Guilt. Guilt filling me up.

“Ally.” He nudges me, his brow furrowed, and I realize I’m still staring at him.

Turning away, I say, “It’ll depend on if I get in.” Smiling wistfully, I think to myself, I have to get in.

Sighing, he pulls at the blades of grass. “You’ll get in. You’re the best dancer I know, and they invited you, right?”
In all wars, there are casualties. I just didn’t think they would be ours. The memory, guilt of everything that’s gone down over the last few months, has rooted itself deep inside me, tearing open old wounds.
I’ve spent my life in a constant state between agony and rage since I lost my wife. And now, I’m seeing her ghost everywhere I look.
I’ve been lost to the darkness before, and my brothers pulled me out. I don’t think there’s an out this time.
I’m becoming the darkness. To seek out the truth, I must first uncover the lie.
Pain has left an insatiable RAGE.
Being traded for favors to make rent was such a regular part of my teen-hood. I didn’t realize how abnormal I was until I met the man who saved my life.

Gabe Cohen crashed into my world, obliterating the foundations to rubble. He built me a new life. A safe one. A protected one. The kind fairytales are made of. But fairytales don’t last, and like a cruel, twisted villain creeping out of the shadows, the old life found me and set fire to my happily ever after.

I was left dying in the embers.

My prince couldn’t find me amongst the ashes. His Willa died that day…but my heart kept beating.

Stories don’t always end once the final page is turned. There’s so much more left to be written. Sometimes the final page is just the start, and it’s up to us to determine whether it remains a fairytale or a tragedy.

The essence of the true love stories, the big ones, the beautiful, bright, epic loves, are always grown from the darkness of a fucked up beginning.

This is ours.

Two

Willa

Fifteen years old

Fear trickles into my veins. My heart quickens as my eyes plead with my brother to release me.

“Who takes care of you?” he demands as three of his friends gather around to watch the show. His fingertips pinch into my skin, his grip on my jaw punishing. They were waiting for me when I walked through the front door. I’d only been gone thirty minutes, but it was enough time for him to notice my absence.

“You do,” I grit out through clenched teeth, trying not to look at all the other eyes on me. It’s an odd thing to feel both invisible and under a microscope.

“Don’t you ever leave this house without my permission again.” He shoves me backward, relinquishing his hold, and my body hits the wall, my hair whisking around my face, offering a veil to conceal the tears threatening to fall. My chest heaves with anger and sorrow. I’m a prisoner in my own home—my own life. I’m running in place, being held down while silently screaming into a void.

Since my father walked out on us, Milo has had to provide and take care of us. He was sixteen. I was nine. Crime was how he kept a roof over our heads and food on the table. I became a possession. The deeper into crime he delved, the more he began to see himself as a king while everyone around him became his lowly subjects. Many-feared Milo, and he fed off it, breathed it into his lungs, and expelled it into those who surrounded him. Including me. It’s been six years since my father ditched and never looked back. I can’t even blame him. If I had the means, I’d run too.

Milo turns his attention to Anton, one of his boys who does errands around here—and who happened to come across me sneaking out the back door. “Where the fuck have you been with my sister?”

Anton’s face turns whiter by the second, his teeth puncturing his bottom lip. I feel bad for him, but he insisted on coming with me when I tried to leave, so he got himself into this situation. I have one brother, but all his sheep think they have a right to keep me locked up inside this godforsaken house.

“She was creeping out. I thought it best someone be with her,” Anton offers, but it doesn’t matter what he says. Evil screams from within Milo’s eyes. There’s no getting out of this without violence.

“I wasn’t creeping out. I needed something from the store,” I fume in defeated misery.

“Why didn’t you just go get what she needed?” my brother asks him, like my voice isn’t even being spoken into the room.

Slipping his hands into his pockets and shrugging his shoulders, Anton says, “She wouldn’t let me. Said it was personal stuff.”

My brother’s eyes cut to me, narrowing. I grip the shoulder strap of an old purse I found buried in dad’s closet. I’d convinced myself it belonged to my mother, but it was probably one of the one-night-stands he used to bring home regularly. I don’t remember our mother. My father said she’s dead, but I’m not sure if he just wished that was the case. Milo said he doesn’t ever remember having a mother, but it didn’t make sense. He was seven when I was born, surely he would have some memory of her.
Alec “The Animal” Walker
My best friend and I were inseparable as kids. That childhood bond turned to puppy love, and then pure, burning lust.
We were biker brats, teenage misfits who only had eyes and hands for each other.
But all that changed when our club found out her dad was a rat—an FBI informant trying to take down our empire.
He betrayed his club. He betrayed his brothers. He betrayed her. He betrayed us.
To tarnish the brotherhood legacy with such disloyalty and dishonor comes with swift retribution. Now, I’m forced to make a choice: my girl or my club.
This will destroy her. Destroy us.
In order to earn my patch, I have to take a traitor’s life—his.
****A dark, delicious, thrill ride, sure to have you turning the pages, desperate to see how it all ends.
Save your love for the road. If you give it to a woman, she’ll use it to control you, even after she’s left you.

The thing is, I didn’t give my love to a woman; I gave it to a girl who happened to turn into a woman, and this is our story…

One

Alec

Eleven years old.

“She will kick your ass,” I warn Mason, who’s picking up a toad, hoping to put it down Drew’s shirt. I’ve known Drew since she was six years old. I was on the cusp of turning eight and she caught my attention when a kid at a family cookout tried teasing her about her pigtails. She took a pair of scissors and cut them off, putting them in his lap, like a badass. From that day on she’s been my best friend.

Not two seconds later, a scream rings out, and Mason is lying on the ground, cradling his junk. “Told ya,” I snort, kicking off my sneakers and wading into the dirty water of the pond Mason’s old man calls a pool.

“You bitch,” Mason wheezes, trying to get his breath back.

“A bitch who kicked your ass.” Drew smirks, sauntering to where my sneakers lay on the grass. “Did you know he was going to do that?”

“I knew you were going to drop him,” I tell her honestly, grinning.

“My daddy said I shouldn’t be hanging out here. I got sick last time we played in this pool.” She scrunches up her nose, her freckles more noticeable in the summer sun.

“What’s wrong with the pool?” I hold out my hand, gesturing to the murky water swimming with wildlife. I don’t think they use the proper stuff to keep it clean like the pools at hotels.

“You think this is clean?” She places a hand on her hip, her mop of curls whipping around in the wind. It’s grown longer than usual.

“Clean enough.” I shrug. Since when has she cared about getting mucky?

She picks up my sneakers. “Clean enough for these?”

“Put them down, Drew,” I warn, and she teases by dangling them near the edge of the water. Before she can do anything with them, she’s shoved hard from behind and hurtles toward the pool face first. “Boom, bitch!” Mason hoots, hands in the air like he just won a wrestling match. Her body splashes against the water, but it’s too shallow, she was too close to the steps. She floats there, facedown, motionless. My stomach twists.

Racing to her, I pull her against me, turning her body and swiping her hair from her face. A ghastly crimson slit traveling from her hairline to the top of her eyebrow seeps blood. “Shit,” Mason calls out, running his hand through his hair.

“Go get your dad,” I bellow, dragging her out of the water and grabbing a towel holding it against her cut. “Drew, don’t do this to me. You’re my best friend, wake up.” I don’t know what to do. Panic blurs my eyes.

“Is she dead?” Mason asks, coming back outside.

“Did you get your dad?”

“Yeah. He’s on the crapper. Is she dead?”

If she is, I’m going to kill him. “Don’t be dead,” I plead.

“What the fuck did you do, you little asshole?” Mason’s dad roars, coming out through the back of the house, buckling his belt, a cigarette hanging out of his mouth, wearing his cut with no shirt.

“Let me get a look, kid,” he tells me, removing the towel to look at the wound. He stinks of motor grease and ash. “Fuck, that’s going to leave a nasty fucking scar, and she’ll have a shiner for a couple weeks, but she’ll live.” He pats my shoulder and places my hand holding the towel back to her head.

Getting to his feet, he pulls out his phone and calls her dad. “Mitch, your girl’s banged up. Cut her head in the pool. Yeah, meet me there.” He ends the call, scoops Drew up, and puts her in the back of his dirty truck, gesturing for us to get in with her. I place her head on my lap and keep the towel against her wound, the gray fabric nearly completely red with her blood.

Ten minute trip to the hospital and she still hasn’t woken up. My gut hurts.

They rush her off on a gurney as soon as we get there, asking a thousand questions. She needs to be okay. She needs to be okay. She needs to be okay.

We’re sitting in the waiting room when her old man comes barreling through the doors like a bull in a china shop, nearly shattering the glass windows. “Where’s my baby girl?” he demands to any and everyone. Mason’s dad steps up, pulling him to the side and gesturing to her room. I stand, then sit, stand, pace, waiting. Two seconds later, my old man comes through the doors, looking pissed as all hell.
