Chapter One

The annoying blare of his ringtone had Cam groaning and blindly swiping for his phone on the nightstand.

He squinted at the name that popped up on his screen. It wasn’t anyone from his job—not his current one, at least—so that was good. Because of that, he could safely assume the ranch resort wasn’t burning to the ground. Or being overrun by horny zombies.

He put it to his ear and had to clear his throat to force out, “Hey. It’s been a while.”

A familiar masculine voice filled his ear. “I’m getting out.”

Cam yawned, stretched, then drove his hand down his boxer briefs to tug on his balls. “You make it sound like you’re getting out of prison.”

“Might as well be,” Nolan said.

He hadn’t heard from his former co-worker in a few months. Actually, not since the night of Cam’s retirement party.

That had been fun, but he normally wasn’t a big drinker, so the next morning had been rough after celebrating most of the night.

He missed talking to Nolan Young, a fellow trooper. They had worked together at the Pennsylvania State Police’s barracks in Media. In the last few years before Cam retired, they’d been on the same platoon, had become fast friends and pretty damn close.

He’d been meaning to reach out and felt guilty about not doing so. Especially now that he had finally settled in at Double D Ranch as their head of security.

“It might suck, but at least it’s not prison. You know how much they love law enforcement in there.”

Silence hit his ears.

“Wait. Have you even done your twenty-five?” Enlisted members of PSP needed to do twenty-five years on the job if they wanted to retire with their full pension and benefits.

Only having to do twenty-five years to get the maximum payout was great when you went into the state police academy at only twenty-one. It was nice to be able to “retire” at forty-six years old.

The biggest challenge was surviving those years on the job.

“No, not yet. But I can’t deal with this shit anymore. I thought long and hard about what I’d lose and I’m fine with getting out at twenty.”

Damn. That would reduce his monthly pension. But for some, five more years was five too many. “And when is this happening?”

“In two weeks.” Nolan paused. “Cam…”

He fought another yawn. “Yeah?”

“I’m only forty-one. I’m too young to retire and do nothing. I’ll need to supplement my pension, too.”

“I hear you. I’m too old to deal with the bullshit that goes along with police work, but too young to relax in a rocking chair on the porch watching the world go by.” Add in the fact that Cam was financially supporting a daughter through college. He couldn’t not work.

“I need a slower pace. No freaking fifty-car pile ups due to snow squalls. No domestics. No tweakers. No bullshit.”

“I hear you, brother. What do you plan to do, if not board the easy train?”

“Find the kind of gig like you did. Where I can use my experience and skills, but at a much slower pace.”

“Security for an old folks’ home?” Cam suggested as a joke.

“I said slow, not dead.”

“Ouch.”

“You know what I mean.”

Cam stroked his half chub lazily as he talked. “Some of those residents can get pretty fucking cantankerous. Might have to pepper spray one for assault with a pudding cup.”

“Or zip tie their wheelchair wheel to the frame so they can’t make a run for it.”

Cam chuckled. “They do, you just chase after them using a scooter and do a pit maneuver.” A low chuckle filled his ear and caused Cam’s nipples to stand at attention.

“Damn, I miss working with you.”

“Same, brother.” Cam also missed seeing Nolan in the locker room before and after shifts. The man always drew his eye, making him wish Nolan wasn’t straight.

Who was he kidding? It didn’t matter if he wasn’t, Cam had stuffed himself into a closet and locked the door behind him. No way did he want anyone at his barracks, or even in the state-wide law enforcement organization, to know he wasn’t strictly batting for the straight team.

He didn’t need the hassle. The jokes, the looks, the insulting whispers.

You’d think in this day and age, more folks would be tolerant of how others lived their lives, especially since it wasn’t their business. Unfortunately, they weren’t.

The only good thing about being bi was that he could bring a woman along to events and get-togethers with his fellow cops and it didn’t come off as awkward. Or suspicious.

He could easily pretend to be as straight as the line they made drunks walk during sobriety tests. Only, that was far from the truth. “When’s your last day?”

“The fifteenth.”

Damn. Now that guilt for not reaching out became even heavier. He should’ve known Nolan was about to retire. “Then what?”

Prologue

Cast the First Stone

With his eyes scanning side to side, Stone strode through the parking lot of The Shoppes at Susquehanna Marketplace. A busy Saturday couldn’t be a better time. But he sure as hell wasn’t there to shop.

Fuck no.

The lot was packed with the types of cages Chopper needed. Since Stone happened to be down in Harrisburg earlier today to do a “collection,” he figured he’d tool through some of the local malls to hunt for some rich fuckers’ vehicles on his way back north.

The parts for luxury rides always brought in more scratch, but they also had more anti-theft shit, making them a fucking headache to pinch. But if the model was worth it, they found a way to steal it, since it would bring in a fuckload of scratch for their club’s coffers.

Usually, Wrecker was stealth enough with either their self-loading Ford F-550, a plain, black, unmarked tow truck, or the Snatcher hydraulic setup installed in the bed of an unassuming F-350 pickup.

Either way, Wrecker was a pro on getting in, getting out, and getting the fuck going without getting pinched by the pigs or catching a bullet between the eyes from an overzealous owner. His club brother could steal a cage in under a minute, which was goddamn impressive.

Of course, all those rich motherfuckers had insurance and no doubt would be compensated fairly for their vehicle’s permanent disappearance.

Stone ducked between two vehicles and spotted a Mercedes C-Class parked right fucking next to a BMW 3 Series, two of the easiest sedans to steal and always owned by douchebags.

How about that fucking luck?

He pursed his lips and slowly walked behind them both, keeping his cell phone low and inconspicuous as he snapped photos of their license plates.

Luckily, Devil Dog’s ol’ lady worked at the Department of Motor Vehicles and had access to run those registrations, making stealing cars even easier. She provided the home or business address of the vehicles they scouted and, BOOM, Wrecker stole it, giving Chopper more cages for him and his crew to strip down.

It only took them about an hour to dismantle a four-door douche-mobile. Those high and mighty assholes probably spent more time than that at the dealership when they bought the fucking thing.

Once the VINs were rendered illegible with a torch, the parts were sold to the highest bidder. That could be either on the black market, or to a local garage or body shop that didn’t give a shit about where the part came from as long as it was untraceable. Local shops could charge their customers a premium for that OEM replacement part after buying it for a steal.

The Kings also recently hooked up with an individual with connections so they could sell high-dollar parts overseas. That had been a hell of a score for his club.

He sneered up at the sun. It was too ball-sweating hot today to be doing this kind of shit on foot. He dug into the front pocket of his jeans, pulled out a black elastic hair tie and secured his messy long hair into an equally messy knot at the back of his head.

That was better.

He scanned the parking lot again for either pigs or rent-a-pigs, AKA mall security. They were probably on a donut break. With his head back on a swivel, he worked his way down a few more rows, quickly snapping photos of potential targets as he went.

He never paused behind a vehicle for more than a second or two. He never wore his fucking cut. And when doing a collection job or other illegal shit, he always swapped out his sled’s plate with one of the hundreds of fake ones they kept on hand. Luckily, some of his brothers had learned how to make plates in prison, a priceless skill learned while being rehabilitated.

Not him, though. Those CO cucks didn’t trust him enough to allow him one of those jobs. He had no idea why.

A grin threatened to curve his lips.

Until he remembered how much being in the hole for bad behavior sucked. Being stuck in solitary confinement meant he had no one to fuck with, besides himself, or any wet-behind-the-ears screws.

Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted a pretty slit climbing out of a cage at the far end of the parking lot. Her ride wasn’t worth stealing, that was for damn sure, but he wasn’t interested in that. He was more focused on riding the woman now opening the back driver’s side door on an old Honda Pilot.

Fuck yeah. He wouldn’t mind one long, sweaty night with that piece. Her ass in those shorts was⁠—

Oh, fuck no.

When she reached into the back seat, she helped a whole damn nut nugget out of the cage. He might be mini-sized baggage, but still baggage Stone didn’t want to deal with. Even for one night.

Chapter One

Cara moved through the thick crowd, bumping into people like a pinball. Her multitude of apologies probably went unheard due to the deep bass thumping from the loud dance music.

She had never been to a nightclub—it had never been her scene—but she could imagine this would be a similar atmosphere.

The volume of One More Time by Daft Punk was deafening, to say nothing of the people trying to talk above the din, as well as others singing along with every tune the DJ was spinning onstage to rock down the house.

Or more like event hall.

Colorful lights ricocheted around the inside of the building named The Mane Event Hall. They tinted people different shades and occasionally blinded Cara as she worked her way around the large interior.

Drinks flowed freely. Resort guests danced without reserve: bumping and grinding, twirling and twisting. They laughed and shouted.

While everyone else was having a good time, Cara felt a little out of place.

Some attendees had dressed for tonight’s fantasy theme. Glitter, fairy wings, gossamer skirts and body paint. Costumes in vibrant blues, greens, pinks, purples, and every other color a person could imagine.

Others ignored the party’s theme by going naked or wearing risqué outfits. She spotted men and women alike wearing leather harnesses that exposed their breasts, as well as other parts.

When her elbow was knocked by two women making out along the wall, half of her lemon drop martini landed on the floor. The other half on her.

“Shit.” She looked at the now-empty glass, the wet floor, then down at herself. That was a waste of a good martini.

She could head to the bathroom and try to clean up, or she could go back to her room and call it a night.

Only having checked in a few hours ago, she wasn’t quite sure why she decided to attend tonight’s special event. Her room looked more inviting by the second. As did the silence.

She had come to Double D Ranch to dip her toes into this unknown world, not to jump in feet first. It might be better to expose herself to this lifestyle in small doses in order to see if she was even interested. To see if it was for her.

She set her empty glass on a nearby tray meant for dirty glassware and continued on her way. If she kept moving, maybe no one would notice how out of place she looked. Or how awkward she felt.

This was not her scene.

She didn’t belong here.

Someone would spot her, see she was out of her element, and call her out. She just knew it.

She glanced around to see if anyone was staring. Or pointing fingers.

Of course they weren’t. She was being paranoid over nothing. Nobody cared she was here.

She decided to book this trip for that reason. The website stated the guests weren’t pressured to do anything they weren’t comfortable with. They could do whatever they wanted with anyone willing to do the same. Or guests could do absolutely nothing.

Once she ran across their website, it took her five days until she was brave enough to call. She unreasonably thought they would instantly know this world was not for her. Alarms would go off and red alerts would be sent out via text, phone, and email.

It was silly, she knew.

Eventually, she finally did call because, even after reading their FAQ page on their website—three times no less—she still had questions.

But then, she did tend to overthink things.

For some reason, she didn’t expect a man with a toe-curling voice to answer. He was not only pleasant to listen to, but patient and helpful. Maybe he picked up on how intimidated and unsure Cara came across.

Her first question had her cheeks burning hot and she was glad it was a phone call instead of a video chat or in-person conversation. “Is this a…BDSM club?”

She had read plenty of erotica and erotic romance novels involving kinky sex clubs at the public library where she worked.

Funny enough, that unquenchable interest started when a regular library patron, to whom Cara normally recommended books, turned around and told her about a book by one of her favorite authors.

At the time, she had no idea a toe-curling, steamy romance about sex clubs would cause her to evaluate her own life. After the first one, she fell down a rabbit hole and couldn’t read them fast enough.

Those stories hammered home the fact that her past sex life had been lacking.

Big time.

That simple book recommendation took her down a path she never expected. She began to search for a similar place to those she had read about in those books. But somewhere other than in her hometown. Where she might be recognized. Where she worked. Where she knew so many people.

Chapter One

“I didn’t expect us to be back here so soon,” Dylan murmured, staring at the house in front of them.

The last time all three of them were home, it was for their father’s funeral six months prior.

“We couldn’t put it off any longer. Mom can’t handle this place herself,” Dayne said.

Dylan glanced at his younger brother. Younger by a mere six minutes. “Hell, she doesn’t want to, either.”

“Can you blame her?” their younger sister, Danica, spouted. Younger than them by five years.

“No,” both he and his identical twin answered at the same time.

“We could sell it. It would be the easiest solution,” Dayne suggested. His hands were planted on his hips and his hazel eyes narrowed on the old two-story farmhouse. “I certainly don’t want to raise dairy cows and deal with all the bullshit that goes along with that.”

Dani giggled. “Literally.”

“Apparently, neither does Mom,” Dylan added.

“Splattering cow pies, the relentless flies, and ornery heifers trying to kick you into next week are the whole reason I left as soon as I could.” Dayne elbowed him. “Just like you did.”

Their sister, standing between him and Dayne, exclaimed, “And I had to watch you two speed away with dirt kicking off those spinning tires. You two left me in the dust!”

“The hell if I was taking you with me and raising a smart-mouthed tween,” Dayne informed her. “Did you forget we were only eighteen? Anyway, do you think Mom and Dad would’ve let you leave at thirteen?”

Dylan snorted. “And just think how messed up you would’ve been if Dayne raised you.”

Dani elbowed him in the ribs. “You could’ve taken me in, Dylan. You were always the more responsible one.”

“At least that stick up your ass is one thing we don’t share,” Dayne told him.

“I don’t have a stick up my ass,” Dylan grumbled.

Both of his siblings laughed. Louder than necessary.

They’d find out soon enough how untrue that was. Then he’d have the last laugh.

He shook his head. “Well, our choices are to either sell it or do something else with it.” He wasn’t sure if his siblings would go for his idea since it was unorthodox. Since their father willed the three-hundred-acre property to his two sons, Dayne would have to agree first.

“Sell,” Dayne and Dani said at the same time.

“Or…” Dylan started.

His siblings turned to stare at him.

“Or what?” Dayne prodded and narrowed his eyes again, this time on Dylan.

Dani groaned. “I see those wheels spinning, Dayne. He’s about to come up with some cockamamie idea.”

Dayne mmm’d and scowled in his direction.

“I have good ideas sometimes,” Dylan murmured.

Dani rolled her eyes. “They’re few and far between.”

“Too bad Dad didn’t want to raise horses instead of Holsteins. I might have stayed,” Dayne said next. “We could always trade the cows in for horses.”

Dylan could’ve lived with raising and training horses, too, but their father had a dislike for them. He preferred riding his utility task vehicle to chase down a calf or travel to the far end of the three-hundred-acre farm. Unlike an ATV, his UTV had a roll cage, could fit more passengers and was less likely to tip. Plus, it had a larger tow capacity than a regular four-wheeler.

To Dad, a horse was unpredictable, but he never met a cow he didn’t like. Dayne and Dylan felt the opposite.

Dayne went on, “Mom already found a smaller place in town. I don’t think she’ll care whether we keep or sell it.”

“I don’t think that’s true,” Dylan murmured. “She would love for us to take it over and keep it in the family since this farm was everything to him.”

“Everything?” their sister exclaimed. “What are we? Chopped liver?”

“Don’t twist what I’m saying. Of course we were important to him, but so was this farm. Even so, she told me she’s leaving it up to us to decide what to do with it.”

“You mean you two,” Dani corrected, “since he didn’t pass it on to me. Only you two boneheads.”

Their sister must have a short memory. “Since you constantly complained about having to do chores around here, he didn’t think you’d want anything to do with it.”

“The value of the property? Sure I would. Squeezing cow nipples twice a day? No way.”

A snort exploded from Dayne. “Automated milkers are used for that, sis.”

“Even so, he named the damn farm Double D, instead of Triple D. That proves I’m always the forgotten one,” their sister bitched.

“You weren’t forgotten.” Dylan reminder her, “You were born after they bought the farm.”

“Yeah, you were a mistake,” Dayne teased. With a grunt, he folded in half when she whacked his gut with the back of her hand. “You know what I mean.”

“Not a mistake,” Dylan clarified, “unexpected.”

“I guess Mom and Dad humped like rabbits,” Dani said.

Dylan groaned. “Please don’t take us back to all the times we overheard it.”

Prologue

Romeo tracked her as she walked across the Blood Fury MC’s courtyard.

The young strawberry blonde with the big brown eyes.

The same as her mother.

The same as her younger sister.

She wore no one’s colors, despite being old enough to be an ol’ lady. From what he could tell, she had to be only a few years younger than him.

His best fucking guess? She was at least twenty-one now since she was drinking. Not that her doing so was a perfect indicator. Romeo doubted the Fury gave a shit about underage drinking.

He could be wrong—that happened sometimes—since he heard Trip, the Fury president, was pretty damn strict. Totally fucking opposite of him, the president of the Dark Knights.

But then, he was younger than either president of the Fury or the Dirty Angels. Add in the fact he also liked to party fucking hard and often, he wasn’t enough of a dick to police anyone in his club—or even anyone connected to his club—unless he had no damn choice.

And anyway, he had his no-fucking-nonsense sergeant at arms to do that shit for him. No matter that Magnum no longer had youth on his side, he still fucking had it in him to pound someone into the ground or make someone shit their pants with one cocked eyebrow.

Romeo licked his lips as he thought about Magnum's hot-as-fuck, much younger wife.

That had him turning his wandering thoughts back to the woman heading toward the covered pavilion. Right now the popular gathering spot was too crowded for him to approach. He didn’t want anyone listening in on his “game.” He’d find a better time when she wasn’t surrounded by others who might fuck up his plans.

When he could speak to her in private. Turn on his charm.

Test the waters.

Because he planned on having her before this wedding weekend was over.

The fuck if he was leaving Manning Grove without finding a willing woman to warm his bed. It didn’t have to be the same woman each night. He wasn’t picky. His only requirement was soft thighs, big tits and an ass that wouldn’t quit.

A mouth that wouldn’t quit, either. And he didn’t mean when using it in conversation.

He was currently drawing a blank on her name because—between the three clubs, all their sweet butts, hang-arounds and others who had descended on the Blood Fury’s farm for the wedding between the Fury member named Easy and their president’s sister—there were way too many goddamn people to remember.

If he had to be honest, he really didn’t give a fuck what her name was. The second he kicked her out of his bed, he’d forget it anyway. What he wouldn’t forget was if her pussy was tight, how wet she got, or how skilled she was with those soft, plump lips.

A grin crossed his face as he closed his eyes and imagined her spread naked in the bed in his rented RV. The one parked in a field on the same farm where he stood.

Prologue

The pounding on his apartment door had Nox cursing under his breath.

“Nox,” he heard yelled through it.

It sounded like Cross.

What the hell did he want?

Pulling in a breath, Nox tamped down his annoyance. He loved his brothers and he’d do anything for them, so he wished he didn’t get so fucking irritated when they tried to include him in shit.

Some days were worse than others. There was no rhyme or reason for it, but today was one of those days.

He’d even struggled with working up on the third floor with the task force and had headed down to his apartment earlier than he should have. If Crew had a problem with it, the task force leader knew where to find him.

Normally, Crew left him alone because Nox spent more than a normal amount of time upstairs working. Usually late at night when he couldn’t sleep.

Or when he didn’t want to sleep.

When he knew closing his eyes would be more difficult than trying to keep them open.

More pounding. “Nox! You in there?”

“For fuck’s sake,” he muttered, putting down the biography he was reading, then forced himself to his feet and over to the door.

With his hand on the knob, he took a few seconds to brace himself before flipping the deadbolt and yanking open the door.

Aiden Cross, the Blue Avengers MC secretary and a Southern Allegheny Regional PD officer, stood before him with concern not very well hidden on his face. But that wasn’t all…

He was nervous about something.

“Need you downstairs.”

Dread filled Nox’s chest. “Who does?”

“Jamison asked me to come get you for a quick meeting.”

It had to be Blue Avenger business since the prez wasn’t on the task force. But their club’s meetings took time and effort to schedule since it was difficult to get all of them together with their various work schedules. So, yeah, something was off with this whole thing. “About?”

Cross shifted from one foot to the other. “He didn’t say. He only asked me to get you.”

This was smelling like bullshit. “Everybody else here already?”

“Everybody who can be. We’re only waiting on you.”

“I must’ve missed the original memo,” he said dryly, since they did not schedule BAMC meetings on the fly. “You could’ve just texted me.”

“I needed the exercise.” Cross’s Adam’s apple jumped.

Nox wasn’t liking this.

Not at fucking all.

Cross tipped his head and turned. “C’mon. Let’s go before we’re late.”

“Cross,” Nox started with a warning in his voice, but the man was already jogging down the steps.

Chapter One

His girl’s throaty rumble filled his ears and got his pulse pounding.

Chapter One

Rez slouched in a curved, vinyl bucket chair facing the stage. With a half-full glass of beer in one hand and some dollar bills in the other, his eyes followed the woman dancing on stage.

Ever since Mel received her pink slip as the strip club’s manager by getting pulled by her hair out of the building and across the parking lot, The Peach Pit had become just that… A fucking pit.

Once Mel was forcibly removed, most of her best strippers left and found employment elsewhere. Because of that, the Deadly Demons, the MC who currently owned the club, were backfilling their stable with women having no business stripping.

And that was the reason he was one of very few men sitting in the club on what should be a busy Friday night. Instead, it was dead.

Most of the dancers tonight were so damn unenthusiastic, they looked bored. Or tired. Or maybe even high. None bothered to make much of an effort at all.

The club looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in who the fuck knew when. The whole reason he wiped the chair off with a napkin before sitting his ass down.

Whoever was in the DJ booth tonight was definitely not a professional, either. For the most part, they might as well be playing sad trombones through the speakers to go with the wilting women “dancing” on stage.

He really doubted the business was making any decent dough at this point. But he also doubted the Demons gave too much of a shit about that. They wanted to use the club as a point of sale operation for their meth business, instead.

Along with meth, they slung pot, too. However, weed was child’s play. It wasn’t their main moneymaker, but more than likely a way to make The Peach Pit a “one-stop shop” for anyone wanting to get high.

Every employee, other than some of the strippers, now consisted of Demon members, either patched or prospect. And he swore some of the “new” strippers did double-duty as Demons’ sweet butts. Saint had to scramble to get bodies to fill in the gaps after the mass exodus.

Chapter One

The rundown farmhouse would not be featured on the show Million Dollar Listing any time soon.

Or ever.

He originally thought the party would be held at the Deadly Demons MC’s church in Moundsville, West Virginia. While they were in West Virginia, he had no fucking clue where they were exactly.

It was safe to say he didn’t like that.

He also wasn’t thrilled with the fact he stood in the midst of a one-percenter MC trying to blend in.

But here he was.

To prepare, he had gone on a shopping spree at a thrift store to buy clothing to help him fit in. And to fit his weight gain.

He pressed a hand to his gut under his worn leather jacket.

Beer, pizza and cupcakes—the last baked by Axel Jamison’s wife—had done the trick. Every day he’d stand naked in front of the full-length mirror and watch the muscle definition he’d worked so hard to achieve slowly disappear.

He’d gone up a size in both his shirts and jeans. He only hoped when this assignment was over, the extra weight he packed on would disappear just as easily.

But he’d run out of time and the weight gain hadn’t been enough, so one afternoon a week ago, Crew walked into a task force meeting at The Plant and threw a fake, but realistic-looking, silicone belly in the middle of the conference table. The idea was fucking genius—though, he’d never tell Crew that—since it made him look like he sported a beer gut without actually having one.

However, he drew the line at fake tattoos. True bikers would be able to tell the difference between the lick-‘em-and-stick-‘em body art versus real tattoos done by an ink slinger. While he was dedicated to this job—and the task force—there was no damn way he’d volunteer to sit in a tattoo chair to get some random prison or biker tats for a temporary assignment.
