Which one will be your ultimate alpha wolf shifter book boyfriend?

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

PROLOGUE

VIVICA YOUNG

My sister Erica answers my call on the second ring.

“Hey, Vivi,” she greets sunnily.

It’s still so, so good to hear this joy in her voice after all she’s been through. Riley is my only brother-in-law so far, but even if he were one of four, I’m pretty sure he’d be my favorite for the miracle worker he is.

“Hey back. So! Coven business and also pack business. Jason Creed. Bailey Blackwood.” I pause for effect, then add, “It’s time. Not getting detailed clarity but what I am getting… we need to seek a way to get her to follow Jase out of town.”

There’s a beat of silence before my sister exclaims, “What?”

“Jason Creed and Bailey Blackwood. It’s–”

“Uh oh. Oh shit! Do you think Jase might be in danger?” she exclaims. “Do you think it has something to do with the Starling artifacts?”

I can’t help but laugh at how animated she’s being. I’d say Bailey Blackwood is in earshot, and this is Erica deciding action – it’s go time!

“I’ll call Dani now,” I tell her. “Get her to take a back seat so Bailey can step in. Safely. Yeah?”

“I mean, can’t we do something?” Erica sounds incensed.

We’ve already talked a little about this. Me, Ronnie, and Jess are trying to avoid getting too emotionally attached to this situation, though it’s not so easy after having spent some time with these folks. And Erica is absolutely invested, which my intuition is telling me could be problematic. She adores Bailey and told me she wanted to intervene days ago, but I asked her to wait until more was revealed to me, so she has managed to hold her urges in check. Most surprising is how invested Dani is, which is unusual for her as she’s probably the most pragmatic of the five of us.

This wolf shifter is hot and he knows it. And on Erica’s birthday, Dani let him charm her a little and when Erica stuck her oar in to put a stop to whatever was brewing between them for Bailey’s sake, I told Dani what I knew, what I hadn’t officially admitted to Erica until yesterday when I told her how to pack what we were sending with Jase. I told her I know Bailey is Jase’s fated mate. But Erica said she’d already guessed the minute she saw them in the same space.

Dani and Jase were just about to lock lips when Erica’s text stopped her and Dani is relieved about that, never ever wanting to be that girl in the way of or causing drama when there’s a serious bond.

“I definitely know how important – how critical – that he gets those artifacts there safely,” she replies. “And then gets home safely, too. What are we gonna do?”

I say, “We could use your help mapping out of some problems associated with all this. Can you come here or should we come there?”

“I’ll run coming to Marblehead past Riley. We’ve been talking about it and now might be the best time to do it,” Erica replies.

“He can’t catch wind of all this, or he’ll likely try to get involved.”

“You think I don’t know that?”

“No,” I say carefully, “but that’s blaring in my mind right now so it’s obviously a warning to us.”

Now is the best time for Riley to leave his village while there’s a short reprieve between Arcana Falls council alpha claimings. Though I’m not sure it can be called a reprieve since I’m fairly sure the time for Jason and Bailey will descend while they’re overseas. Though I also know some unknown things will get in the way and strangely I know one of those things is us. This time around, we’re going to have to react on the fly, unfortunately.
Cicely Oakes is drawn to investigate news of a scentless sigma shifter living on her pack's land. She quickly finds out why she's never met this mysterious wolf shifter.

He's been avoiding her for a very good reason.

She's his fated mate. And Jared Stone knew that if he set eyes on her, she'd be in danger. His wolf is not within his control. His wolf is a deadly super predator that wants to unleash massive teeth and claws on every being it meets.

Sigma is book 4.5 in the Savage Alpha Shifters series, a series about alpha male wolf shifters finding their fated mates. This is not standalone. These books need to be read in order for the richest reading experience.

This story biting, knotting, claiming, some dark supernatural themes, and a feral wolf shifter with violent tendencies. Further content information is on the author's website

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Prologue

Cicely Oakes

It’s dusk and I’m stretching, getting ready to shift and go for a run. I’m feeling the need to stretch my legs. I’m also feeling the need to examine the woods for a certain silver camper we talked about at lunch today. Because I had no idea there was a shifter living on our land that’s not in our pack, who’s alpha, that Lincoln was kind of cagey about when asked.

The owner of said camper has apparently been living here for a while, which is shocking. This detail was revealed by Stacy Blackwood, who recapped the details of what happened in Silver Hills to us at Roxy’s.

Bailey and I were both a little shocked because with her having a brother on the council and being the town librarian and with me being the manager of the general store and the default postmaster for the town along with being someone who sometimes hooks up with one of our council members – we typically know what’s going on. But we didn’t know about this. We don’t know much about him – other than the fact he lives in a camper on our land. And… according to Grey’s new mate he’s an alpha with no scent. An alpha with no scent who lives alone, here on our land?

Bizarre.

Bailey knows this guy, just barely. Says he works with Linc sometimes and she saw him twice at Roxy’s for bonfires. I was visiting my sister at school out of town once. She doesn’t recall where I was the other time. Probably off on one of my adventures. When I’m home, I do my best not to miss bonfires. They’re extraordinarily entertaining. All those alphas with their shirts off, wrestling? I try hard not to miss the bonfires.

But this whole thing is also kind of irksome. Because why was Linc being cagey about this camper when he told me it was going to be parked at the store for a day or two? I asked whose it was and why it was here. He just said it belonged to a friend and that he’d get it out of the way soon. But he wouldn’t look at me. He also made an excuse to go straight away. And when I invited him back over later for a drink… something we haven’t done in a while… he made a bullshit excuse. In fact, it feels like he’s avoiding me. Because after Jase mates it’ll be his turn? Because of something else? I have no idea, but I intend to dig into it.

Not that I have all sorts of extra time on my hands. Things have been busy at the store what with how eventful things have been around here the last little while. The day this camper pulled in two days ago was probably the busiest day we’ve had since the day Tyson got shot. Because that was pretty eventful on its own, but that wasn’t all that happened that day. Riley’s long-lost mate showed up, and Grey claimed the female shifter that shot Tyson. All in the same day.

The day before yesterday had been almost equally as eventful and I had to practically shove the nosy pack members out of the store so I could close it. Because the rumors were flying. Not only was Brody home with a new mate that he identified a few days ago but hasn’t claimed yet, and not only are there sixty or so guests staying in the town hall which was quickly patched up by a few council members and other pack members that morning, but also… the night before last we had a public execution via mauling in the parking lot of the town hall. More than a dozen of the guests executed their alpha, that same Silver Hills alpha that had been causing trouble repeatedly through Rye’s and Grey’s claiming periods.

Though the beginning of this period of successive excitements probably started weeks back when we caught the scent of Tyson Savage once again and knew he’s taken a mate. Four down, three to go.

There are three main places to go to dish on the latest gossip around here. The town library, (which is currently closed to the pack while the Silver Hills people get temporarily settled), the store at the village’s four corners, which I run five days a week, and at Roxy’s Bar.

I suspect now that it’s dusk, Roxy’s Bar will be packed once again wall to wall with nosy shifters who want to dish about all of it. Who want to speculate about how it might go with council alpha number five, Jason Creed.

I’ve got my fingers crossed that it’s Bailey. She’s convinced it won’t happen, despite it being all she’s wanted since puberty.

I’m not too shabby at tracking, so I think I’ll take an extra-long run in the woods and see if I can find where this mystery alpha is and see what he’s about. But first, I think I’ll check out this camper.
Wolves hunt for what they want, what they need. Wolf shifters also hunt when they need to.
But what no one can get through your skull is that it’s fruitless to hunt for your fated mate.
No matter how much you want to find her.
I now know it’s because your mate’s scent doesn’t trickle in.
It slams into you. A sledgehammer strikes, the scent assaulting you, and it changes everything.
This is what’s happening to me now.
The woman who attempted to murder Tyson Savage? The one poisoning us?
She’s mine.

Come back to Arcana Falls for another wild story with Claimed, Savage Alpha Shifters #4.
Reading these paranormal, fated mates possessive alpha wolf shifter books in order is essential.

Planned series order:
Tyson – Wild
Mason – Twisted
Riley – Wicked
Greyson – Claimed
And then stories for Jase, Lincoln, and Joel will follow.
Which one will be your ultimate alpha wolf shifter book boyfriend?

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

“For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack.”

-The Jungle Book, Rudyard Kipling

Prologue

Stacy Meadows

I tuck away the Lily nametag and lift the gun out of the bag while hauling in as much air as my lungs can hold. As if oxygen will help me with what I have to do.

This is it.

After this, I won’t need to be Lily anymore. I won’t have to disguise my scent. Not for my job and not in order to hide my true nature from the Arcana Falls wolf shifter pack. I don’t even have to go back to that job tomorrow.

It all feels bittersweet.

The sweet: it’ll be over.

I’ll have accomplished the mission I’ve been tasked with – eliminating the alpha who killed Father.

My fingers flex, but nowhere near the trigger. The thing feels cold, heavy – like it’s a chunk of death.

When my cousin Jimmy brought it and told me what my brother wants me to do, I couldn’t wrap my mind around doing it. There was no way I could pull the mission off and do what he wanted. But by the look in Jimmy’s eyes, the threats of violence that were made, I knew I had no choice. My brother is our pack’s alpha and Jimmy is his henchman.

Jimmy meant it when he said there would be suffering if I didn’t do what I was told. And a small, desperate voice inside me urged that despite how horrific the task was to me, maybe this was the way forward.

We’ve been in agonizing limbo for too long. Wyatt’s plans aren’t ever good ones, but something has got to change. Something drastic has to happen and this would be that. Could it be the start of something?

If I do what I’m told, as horrible as it is, maybe it can be a catalyst for change.

The witch my brother held hostage before I was sent here whispered in my ear that she occasionally saw things from the future. She saw that I’m the key to things changing for my pack. She told me it would all happen soon.

Maybe this is what I need to do.

After this, not only will I no longer need to be Lily, I might not even be me anymore. Because how could this not permanently change me? It’s a bitter pill to swallow.

I need to fire this weapon because of my brother, for what’s left of my pack. For the girls and our elderly and for the greater good. Because Wyatt is ruining us.

Yeah, bittersweet. Because life could change for the better after this. Change, finally, after I do this thing – which will be the hardest thing I’ve done in my life. A thing I would never have thought myself capable of. But I have to. If I don’t do this, Wyatt will deliver on his threats. If I do this, he says he’ll pair me with Malachi, which would likely make him part of the inner sanctum and then Mal can work like we talked about to find a way to go for that jugular and remove the barrier to the health and happiness of our pack - Wyatt.

After this, I’ll walk away from this town and this job that I’ve enjoyed. I’ll walk away from the nice people I’ve worked with the last several weeks and the many regular customers who have been so kind. I’ll go back to my old life and hope my actions, as awful as they’ll be, can spark the right kind of change.

I shouldn’t have gotten attached to my newfound freedom, but it happened anyway. I like working there. Bringing people food. Hearing about their day. I’ve helped out in the kitchen a couple times, too, and the owner of the diner wants to try me out for a half-day to see if I can handle the kitchen when his cook goes on vacation next month. I would have liked that.

But I won’t be here for it. I’ve already called in and left a message that not only can I not make it in, but also that I don’t think I can come back. I apologized for doing it without giving notice, said I needed to leave town immediately due to a family emergency, but that I truly appreciated the opportunity he gave me.

I like my coworkers. My boss. The regulars. I enjoy counting my tips at the end of each shift, buying little treats for the girls back home. I’ve enjoyed having enough food to eat, not to mention clean water to drink and shower in.

Life before this wasn’t just hard. It was also lonely – in so many ways. Lonely for what we used to be. Hungry for so many things, including happiness. Longing for our pack not to be what it’s become. Hoping for light at the end of the tunnel that isn’t a train.
An arranged marriage dark mafia romance.

My life is about to be twisted up in knots. I’ve been ripped from my life and handed over as a payment for my father’s debt. I’m now engaged to a dark, dominating, terrifying man who has three rules for me.
Rule number one: Obey.
Rule number two: Tell no one anything about him.
Rule number three gives me a peek into just how dark, depraved, and possessive my new fiancé really is.
This dark mafia story has explicit, mature, dark themes and situations that may upset those who are sensitive to common themes in dark romance.

Standalone, no cliffhanger, but more books available in this series.
2024 edition. First edition published in 2015.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

1

“Her name is Athena. They call her Tia. She’s yours if you want her.”

“Mine?”

“Yeah, yours.” Pop waved his hand dismissively. “For whatever.”

I was sitting in my father’s office absorbing this news, news that this Athena was coming to me as a gift from my father, that he’s taking her as payment for unpaid debts.

Pop said he was about to have the news of the payment arrangement conveyed to her father and then I could do what I wanted with her.

“For whatever” meant I could put her on the streets under one of the pimps on our downline. I could also opt to send her overseas and pocket the profits.

We had connections in a variety of industries, including those of the seedy underworld. We had fingers in less-than-wholesome pies. Looking at her photo I knew she’d fetch more on the black market than the debt her daddy owed. Way more.

We receive commissions based on a variety of pursuits. Some call us mafia. I don’t like that word. You might say I say tomato, you say tom-atto and while it’s all the same fruit, of course, there are many varieties of tomatoes. We’re businessmen. We have businesses we fully own and those we own a stake in.

Not all of what we do is legal, but it’s not all shady business deals and gambling debts, either. The way it’s set up creates multiple layers and plenty of income streams. Money flows to the family coffers from a variety of areas like security, construction, retail and wholesale businesses. There are gray areas, too, like security, protection, and of course loansharking, prostitution, and drugs. We mostly deal in organics rather than chemicals, and it’s only a small part of our business.

Yes, organized crime exists in the 21st century. No, it’s not always as glamorous as it’s portrayed on screens but it’s not always as seedy, either. It’s a living. Some days are fairly ordinary. Some days are a rush. Some days we have to make tough decisions. I’d had to make many difficult decisions so far and I was sure there would be many more ahead of me, especially given that I’d soon be sitting at the helm of the family empire.

My father had humble beginnings as a working guy who was respected and connected around town. He and his best friend, a guy also connected – even more connected that Pop – started a construction company. It did well; they were smart and resourceful. Over time, they saw the need for a number of other services and had the capital to begin expansions so they could better provide for their family without paying half their earnings in taxes. The company has grown by leaps and bounds in the past thirty years.

After the construction company got off the ground, he opened a coffee shop. He now has six of those coffee shops and it’s moving to a franchising model in the next five to seven months. He’s a partner in some restaurants, some hotels, plus a few nightclubs. Some of those clubs have backroom card games; some that deal in big money.

Drugs and druggies, alcohol and alcoholics, hookers, nymphos, bookies, gamblers, loan sharks… they’ll always be out there. Why shouldn’t we profit from it? We have the brains and the brawn and the green. And because of that we’ve got the cars, the houses, the fat bank accounts, and the high tax brackets so we look above-board to the tax man and have the fat rainy day funds in our mattresses, attics, basements, whatever. We do regular shit. We also do bad shit.

Why bust our chops for a bit better than minimum wage and work like a dog until we’re ready to drop to put a meager amount of money into a retirement plan we may never get to spend? Successful men get between what men want and the source.

That’s what we do. You want to bet on the races? We can help. You want to get your rocks off, find someone to cater to your fetishes? We’ll hook you up. You need money to pay off your gambling debts or start up a new venture? Guess, what? We can help there, too.

It all fits together nicely, like a puzzle. People need protection. People need money. People need help from builders to build those businesses they want us investing in, so we do the investing and we do the building. And people need vices so at the end of a hard day they’ve had a little fun.

And because men can have too much of a good thing and get caught up in the sins of the flesh and the thrill of the bet it can get dirty. Some don’t pay their debts. Some need to be dealt with. Sometimes people get greedy and try to take from us. We have to make tough decisions. People come to play; they must be prepared to pay. We show our enemies and those who want our profits that we aren’t to be trifled with.
Truth or Dare
The Dominator Series, book 2. A dark, arranged marriage mafia romance.

After my brother’s arranged marriage, I found out he wasn’t the only one my father arranged a bride for.
Not long ago, Pop asked me for my marriage wish list.
I said, “Beautiful. Redhead. But she has to want what I want from life. She has to have an insatiable sexual appetite but want kids and a picket fence, too.”
Pop replied with: “How about if she’s all those things because she does exactly what you tell her to do? How about if she’s been schooled in all the way to please a man in and out of the bedroom?”
I thought it was too good to be true.
But my dream girl does exist. She’s waiting for me to pick her up. To be her new Master.
We’re trying to clean up the filthy mess Pop left us with. To live clean. To resist the enticing and dangerous life of organized crime. There’s no way I can accept this gift and keep a woman who was bought for me. I need to pick her up and set her free. Don’t I?

2024 edition. First edition published in 2017.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Prologue

Recently, my father died. He was a hardened criminal and duplicitous liar. He was also a known wise guy, that was part of something larger and more evil than any of us realized. After he died, I took it upon myself to legitimize and then sell the family business so that I and the rest of my siblings could move on.

But little did I know, before his death he’d started the ball rolling on giving me the same kind of gift he’d given my older brother. When news of this gift arrived on my doorstep, my already chaotic world was turned on its axis.

I had just gotten home from my brother’s wedding and I had a to-do list longer than my arm. I told my brother I could handle most of it on my own; I had it under control. I had a few key guys to help me here. He could go, enjoy time with his new bride far away from home, away from secrets and lies and deceit.

He’d been my idol and my best friend all my life and shouldering a lot for the last several years. I wanted to ease his burden.

In our family, he was the heir and I was the spare, so I probably also wanted to prove that I was just as capable as he was.

So after the death of our father Tom Ferrano, my brother Tommy and his new bride Tia were giving a go at starting a fresh life overseas, away from secrets that needed to be kept. My brother decided he needed to be out of sight for a while for a couple reasons.

I, however, was to be back home doing the “laundry” so we could sell off the empire that my father had spent thirty years building. It was for the best. The empire extended to so many dark and dank areas it was better off for all of us to just start fresh. The kind of businesses he was in, though, made it so that we couldn’t just make a clean break. This was why I was cleaning things up first.

Before my father died, he arranged for my brother to get married, gifted him a girl. After I saw the impact of that girl on my brother’s life, I joked with Pop that I wanted a mail-order bride for my upcoming birthday, joked about it with emotions about my now sister-in-law that I should not ever have been feeling.

My father joked back that he was already shopping around and would find me a perfect fit. At least I’d thought he’d been joking.

But when I got home from my brother’s wedding, I found out that before Pop died, he had gotten that ball rolling. He’d gotten things rolling in a way that could not be stopped and that was going to be a problem. A messy problem.

See, Pop was deeply involved in a human trafficking ring, one of the many involvements he’d neglected to tell me and my brother about as he prepared us to take over the family business. We never knew that what he’d had in mind for us was just the top skim off a cesspool of filth he’d been too happy to be wading in. We had suspicions but we had no clue just how filthy it truly was.

Pop and I had a conversation when talking about Tommy and Tia and how my brother went from being the non-marrying kind to devoting himself 100% to the girl my father had arranged for him to have. Pop wouldn’t tell me his motives behind the choice at that point but it all unfolded over the subsequent weeks. A few months before my birthday he had asked me what I wanted in a bride.

“What’s on your wish list, son?” Pop asked.

“Beautiful. Redhead. But she has to want what I want from life. She has to have an insatiable sexual appetite but want kids and a picket fence, too.”

“How about if she’s all those things because she does exactly what you tell her to do? How about if she’s been schooled in all the ways to please a man in and out of the bedroom?”

“That’s too good to be true, Pop. Too bad such a woman does not exist.” I’d laughed and our conversation got cut short.

I’d always wanted a wife and kids. I wanted the picket fence and enough kids to start my own soccer team. But when I caught my fiancée cheating on me with the DJ we’d hired for our wedding my heart went cold and what my sister dubbed my ‘man whore years’ began.

After seeing Tommy’s life change because of falling in love I decided that maybe it was time to open my mind up to the possibilities of connecting with someone again beyond a one-night stand. But when I got home from my brother’s wedding, ready to start the massive job of cleaning up the family business so that I could move on with my life and think about finding my own happily ever after I found out that Pop had already ordered my mail order bride. And I couldn’t cancel that order.
Please read The Dominator and Truth or Dare before reading Unbound.

2024 edition. First edition published in 2017.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Prologue

I’ve got a whiteboard with pictures from Dario Ferrano’s wedding. I’ve got all the members of the family on the board. I’ve decided on a couple ways to get back at Tommy Ferrano for cutting me out of the Fete action. Things haven’t been good since my uncle died. A lot of people in Vegas are showing me disrespect and it has a lot to do with the fact that Ferrano refused to back Ben Goldberg’s club unless he cut me out of the action. Fete won’t get far off the ground if I have my way. And the people who get in my way always pay.

John Lewis will get his just desserts for siding with Ferrano. Maybe I’ll pick up his hot and horny wife and take that bitch with a switchblade. And the Ferrano family? The guy keeps his sweet young wife under lock and key but his sister, the widow, is a pretty young thing. She should fetch a decent ransom.

Or maybe she won’t be ransomed. Maybe she’ll fetch a price a different way.

I’m in the relationship game. I make strategic relationships that help me help my clients. Sometimes my clients aren’t the good guys. Sometimes, like this time, I’m helping multiple sides with both good and evil traits at the same time.

The task force that hired and then later blackmailed me into getting involved in researching the ties between Tom Ferrano and a whack of human trafficking connections was pushing hard for me to get both Ferrano sons fully on board. I was having luck with one. But the other? Not so much.

I’d worked hard at earning their trust and it took time but I became friends with both of them.

I read people. Dario is a good guy. He’s got a good head on his shoulders. He’s just twenty-five and he wants out of the wise guy grey area his family is in. He’ll go dark if need be, but deep down he wants to live clean.

He thinks strategically and can hold his shit together. He’s gonna be invaluable to the task force in bringing down the people in Kruna because he won’t let them see behind the mask he puts on for them. No one sees behind that mask unless he wants you to see it.

There are a lot of places just like Kruna. Always will be. The poor want money. The rich already have it, so what do they want? They want power. The richer the average rich guy gets, the more he wants. Not because he needs more material shit but because it’s basic human nature to always aspire to having more. The super-rich people that Kruna are made up of and cater to are people with everything they need and want. It’s like some of them are so over-privileged, so entitled and out-of-touch, that they become monsters and use their money and their connections to live out their hedonistic fantasies and exert their power.

I’d like to believe I’d never go to those extremes, no matter how much money and power I had. But I’ve seen power and money go to people’s heads too many times. Power can corrupt the best of us; I’ve seen it happen repeatedly.

The Kruna organization was started by a couple of people in the 70s and one of them is from the Frost family, a family with generations of rich and power-hungry people, including a politician named Sylvia Frost who paved the way for many other women in politics.

She’s a 67-year-old senator who has made a lot of enemies but she’s oblivious to the fact that there are a lot of people who want to take her down.

Cold and calculated, Sylvia thinks she’s got the world under her thumb. Her head is so far up her own ass she is clueless. She wants to run for president and there are people who are out to make that happen for her as well as those who are determined to stop that from happening. She would be extremely dangerous.

There are also a few people who know about her involvement in some shady shit, including that she and her now dead husband were seed partners in Kruna. She hasn’t been involved in ten years, but one of the goals of this task force is to connect her to Kruna.

The task force leader, Barrington “Barry” Dresden, is also someone who has a good deal of power. Barry has a serious hate on for Sylvia Frost. He wants Kruna taken down and his hidden agenda is that he wants her to be implicated as being involved. He’s not afraid to involve powerful players to make it happen. He assembles teams to get shit done.

I also assemble teams, so by involving me, he has a better chance of getting what he wants.

There are multiple teams attempting to infiltrate the Kruna organization and I’m only one small player in the bigger game. I was tasked with gaining the trust of the Ferrano brothers in order to get to their father. Their father wasn’t an original partner, he joined later, but he’d been friends with the senator for twenty odd years. Dario Ferrano marrying a Kruna slave has worked out in the favor of the task force along with Dresden’s plans to take Sylvia Frost down.
My fiancé lost use of everything below his waist in a terrible accident and gave me a hall pass with rules attached. Dark, dangerous, devastatingly handsome, and unhinged Derek Steele got me in his sights and has taken extreme measures to force me to break every rule.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Zero baby unicorns were harmed during the writing of this book.

“Hall pass granted,” my fiancé Adam announces as he hands me a piece of paper.

“Huh?”

Adam used to drop one-liners constantly. For a beat I think his sense of humor is returning. But he’s not wearing that silly smirk that I miss so much.

“Read it, Chloe. Marinate with it today and we’ll talk it over tomorrow.” He presses the joystick on his wheelchair and motors away from me, out of the bedroom, leaving me holding the piece of paper with the words Hall Pass on top, underlined.

He’s not joking.

He actually handed me this piece of paper and said what he said before wheeling away like he’d handed me a menu and told me to pick what I want for dinner.

I force myself to swallow as I take in the list and ending paragraph.

Hall Pass

Who? Chloe and anyone I don’t know.*

What? Just sex.

Where? Just not in our home.

When? When you need it.

Why? I don’t want to lose you.

*I ask that it’s never the same person twice. Nobody you’ve been with before, so no emotional attachments. We won’t talk about it and discretion is sacrosanct.

He signed the bottom with his actual signature and today’s date.

I’m rooted in place while reading the paper a second time with trembling hands. And now I’m angrily stuffing it into the nearest drawer, which happens to be the drawer of my nightstand.

This means it’s beside my vibrator, which lies there innocently despite the fact that the vibrator was the catalyst for all this.

I slam the drawer and aggressively finish making the bed instead of doing what I want to do – follow Adam and pick a fight with him.

We haven’t fought in over half a year. Because Adam was in a horrific accident and suffered a spinal cord injury, I tiptoe around, trying to make everything sunshine, flowers, and rainbows.

But the reality is that I’m not sure if our relationship will ever be anything close to what it was. And the piece of paper he just handed me makes me feel like a complete asshole.

It's been six months and three weeks since we’ve had sex. I made a wine-fueled mistake two nights ago by pulling out the vibrator while he was in bed beside me, and now here we are.

He didn’t want to help by using it on me. He didn’t want to watch me use it. Doesn’t want anything to do with anything sexual. Doesn’t want anything to do with any intimacy at all. Because things don’t work for Adam the way they used to.

I asked questions about intimacy at a doctor’s appointment a few months ago and was given a stack of literature that Adam refuses to read or discuss. He gave me the silent treatment for three days afterwards because my questions embarrassed him. While the doctor says he might eventually regain sensation, might gain full function (and if not, there might be things we can do to help), Adam won’t talk about it.

Sperm collection and IVF could also be an option if we want to have kids. The doctor was very willing to answer my questions, was the one who encouraged me to ask questions. But Adam cut him off, so the doctor handed me the pamphlets.

And now he wants me to marinate on him giving me a license to cheat on him?

And I absolutely will not.

He gets himself from his chair into bed and I stop myself from remarking on how fast he’s getting at what used to be much more of an ordeal. He’s getting more and more independent. Moving here almost a month ago has helped significantly, since everything is calibrated for accessibility.

Since he dropped the hall pass into my hand a few hours ago while I was changing the sheets, I’ve been cleaning our spotless townhome needlessly while he’s been in his office. He wanted to eat his dinner in there, too, telling me he wanted to work on his novel. Funny how the last two days he’s so entrenched in writing that novel that he’s been blocked on for as long as I’ve known him. I suspect it’s a tool to avoid me.

Adam is a journalist, and the novel has been something he’s talked about working on since we met a year and a half ago. He won’t let me read it, won’t tell me what it’s about, and I don’t know if it’s dozens of pages, hundreds of pages, or a series of paragraphs because he won’t even say.

He barely looked up when I put his plate down beside him, but he did switch screens so I couldn’t see anything in the document he had on screen.
Wolf shifter Riley Savage thought his fated mate was lost in the river almost seven years ago. But when it’s revealed that not only is she alive, but also she’s a witch who’s been hiding from him, fury doesn’t begin to describe how Riley feels. He’s determined to get answers and hits nothing but dead ends. And then she shows up in Arcana Falls.

Despite how angry he is, the desire to claim, bite, and knot her is stronger.

Warring between anger and biological urges, Riley malfunctions. It's not healthy for an alpha shifter to reject his fated mate, so the council alphas vote for a one-week lockdown for them in Tyson's cabin.
Forced proximity with an angry alpha wolf shifter who is torn between knotting you sixty-nine ways to sunday and ringing your neck?

Are you ready for the sparks to fly?

Come back to Arcana Falls and the Savage Alpha Shifters, wolf shifters who identify their fated mate and chase, claim, bite, knot, and purr for them. These stories are best experienced in order.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

“Regardless of trying to work against it, fate will always work harder than you. Fate has aces up its sleeve that you have no hope of comprehending.” – Lyrica Young

1

Erica Young

The door to my hippie bus flies open with enough force to make everything inside rattle, not the least of which is me.

Everything in me has been coiled tight since I parked. Heck, since I decided to drive here. And now the moment I’ve been both dreaming of and dreading for seven years happens, and seeing him? I’m rattled to the core.

The look on his unbelievably handsome face? The furious, accusing eyes touching me? Together they make pain radiate through every single shaking cell in my body.

Barely leashed fury crackles as his eyes give me a once over from head to toe. Urges war within me. Run toward him? Hide?

I can’t run to him. Absolutely not.

This is going to be agony. More anguish. Part of the price; it’s time to pay. Though really, it feels like I’ve already been paying for nearly seven years. My entire body is a heartbeat, thumping, aching to touch – no, aching to fuse with him.

The cozy interior of this van suddenly feels even smaller. He can only stand in here because the overhead bunk is popped up and he takes up a lot of space with his height, his muscle. His presence. His fury.

He’s pulling the door shut, towering over me as I sit on the bench seat that takes up the majority of the back of the van. I clench the patchwork quilt that covers it. Coincidentally, I’m gripping the piece of fabric from the shirt he wore the last time I saw him.

He doesn’t know how important this quilt is to me. How important he is to me. How my sisters found that shirt dangling from a tree branch days after it all went wrong and brought it to me. I slept with it for months until I put it in this quilt and have slept with it nearly every night since. He doesn’t know I’ve kept him close to me in the only ways I could for the past seven years, despite the fact that my mistakes cost us both so much.

He’s even more handsome than I remember. And I never forgot just how easy Riley Savage is on the eyes. But the handsomeness I saw back then looks hard now. And it’s down to me that there’s no light in his green eyes at this moment.

The set of his more-than stubbled squared jaw is hard. He hasn’t shaved in at least a week, maybe two. His dark hair is a mess, long enough there’s a curl to it. It looks like he’s been raking his fingers through it in frustration. And I can feel the rage shuddering inside him, as if rattling his rib cage, ready to burst out.

He's even more muscled, even more deliciously built. He’s got a few sexy crinkles around his eyes. Has he laughed much? Or have I given him those faint crow’s feet due to stress? It was a given he’d mourn the perceived loss of me, but has he held others, gotten pleasure from others? Sought comfort? Because I haven’t. I wouldn’t. I have so many questions and no right to ask any of them.

There’s something strange in my chest, something elusive. It feels like I can almost reach out and touch the soul of him with mine, but his is caged by an invisible wall. A wall I built. My aches and fears shift into need. Stark need. Vivid desire. The need to feel him. The desire to be touched by him. The pulsing ache not only in my heart and my soul, but also in that forbidden place I’ve been saving for him. To show him how much I love him, to have him understand that I never meant for any of this to happen.

I wish I could touch him. I’ll never forget the way it felt when we had that first kiss. The last one, too.

I don’t even get to make a move toward him. It’s like he senses the intent before I’ve done more than flex a muscle in my foot and his hand flies up to halt me.

“Do not take one step toward me, witch,” he shouts, his voice coming out guttural, filled with emotion so raw, so visceral, it can only be described as loathingly. The way he says witch is as if it’s the gravest insult he can hurl at me.

Danica told me when he smelled me in the Drowsy Hollow covenstead, there was significant fall-out. And I knew it was coming, knew last Fall when I dug deeper than ever to help Holden and Isabella with their problem that this could come at any moment. I knew I had no control over when it would happen. I gave it to fate. And now I guess fate is showing me that I reap what I sow. I fucked up so epically.
Want equal rights?
Don't f____ a biker.
Want safe and predictable?
Do not fall for a biker.

Want wind in your hair, fire in your soul, and a man's fingerprints on your body, marking you as his and only his, to be protected and treasured forever?

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Prologue

Gianna Grace Jones

Ten Years Ago

It reeked in here. I couldn’t stop shivering. I shivered so hard with the cold it made my bones ache.

The rotten smell, the cold, and the fear were a potent cocktail that kept me on edge and ensured I would definitely not fall asleep and leave myself vulnerable in this place. I’d come here for shelter from the cold, but as soon as I stepped into it, I knew it might’ve been better to take my chances in subzero temperatures.

The streets didn’t smell like this carpet. Right now, the streets had a pretty dusting of pure, fresh snow on top of ice from the freezing rain of a couple hours ago. I don’t know what has to happen to carpet to make it smell like this and probably don’t want to know, since I was sitting on it.

This was the kind of thing that happened when you found yourself sleeping rough in a squat.

On the streets, you aren’t surrounded by speckled black mold, rotting walls and water-damaged ceilings likely filled with vermin shit and asbestos or other noxious substances. Walls and ceilings are supposed to shelter you, but these? Probably not great for the lungs. And one strong gust of wind and the whole place might crumble down on top of us.

So, why was I here?

Kailey.

Kailey reasoned that trying to get through the night out there might mean we freeze to death. I argued we could be in mortal danger here, too. With the streets, at least I wouldn’t be under the scrutiny of the quiet guy with bloodshot eyes and the random bouts of twitching.

In times like these – sadly, this wasn’t the first time like this – I always thought about that Little Match Girl movie I saw as a kid where the young girl with the fair hair froze to death. If only she’d started a fire instead of letting the matchsticks burn out one by one. I saw that movie as a cautionary tale; it’s haunted me ever since. Then again, my life, the positions I kept finding myself in, I’m a walking, talking cautionary tale myself. Anyone watching me right now would probably say, “Go! Run! Get out of there before yet another bad thing happens to you.”

Yeah, my guardian angel probably has to take more Xanax than my mother and she pops them like they’re Pez.

Like a too-stupid-to-live heroine in a horror movie, I often ignore when my instinct tells me to take flight. Why?

Kailey is often why.

And because of Kailey, too often it turns to fight. Or instead of fight or flight, it turns to put up and shut up.

Damn it, Kai. Kailey and her bright ideas again. Kailey’s schemes getting us kicked out. Kailey’s bright ideas putting us in the clutches of predators. Kailey sleeping peacefully with her head on my lap while I’m left to watch for the moment that’s not too early yet not too late. The moment to wake her and skedaddle.

I’m keeping us from freezing to death (barely) for as long as possible here since she’s sound asleep, but ever since we got here I knew, I just knew… we would be doing a runner before the sun rose.

Yet again, I let her railroad me. I protested and she talked me into things. And I should know better. I do know better. But it’s been like this since we were kids, since shortly after my father married her mother and I found myself with a new stepsister who was a couple years older, a whole lot worldlier, and full of ideas. Ideas that usually got us into trouble, but yet somehow with the power to talk me into things. Times like these were too common. Times when I knew we were making a mistake and wouldn’t stand my ground then wind up in a state of self-loathing, scolding myself for being such a pushover. Such a doormat. It might as well be tattooed on my forehead because I feel like I can see it in the mirror. Kailey certainly sees it.

If Kailey weren’t asleep with her head on my lap, I’d be arguing that we should go now. But she’d stay anyway, and so would I because otherwise, I wouldn’t be able to protect her. If not for her, I’d be walking the icy sidewalks until morning if necessary until I could hunker down somewhere in the daylight and figure out our shit. Then again, if not for her, I wouldn’t have found myself homeless again.

At the idea of the need to figure out our shit, yet again, my belly dipped and then twisted with more stress. Time to find another place to stay. A way to feed ourselves. Again. Because we sure didn’t have friends to lean on. No. Kailey wore out her welcome everywhere and got me painted with the same brush by extension.
Come back to Arcana falls for more biting, claiming, and knotting wolf shifters. It’s Mason Quinn’s turn to claim his fated mate. He smells her and it’s forever at first scent.
Does it matter that the first thing she does after he takes her mouth is spray his face with Mace? Nope.
Does it deter him that she keeps trying to run away, determined this is sorcery, not fate? Absolutely not.
He's certain - witchcraft or not, this is meant to be. It just might take a whole lot of chasing and knotting
to convince his emotionally damaged mate that the knot tying them together is permanent.
Twisted is book two in the Savage Alpha Shifters series. These books should be read in order, starting with Wild.

I bolt upright, jolting awake with knowledge that something is wrong. Very.

I know it and even more than me, my wolf knows it. His energy sparks and crackles in my blood along with the fierce urge to get home. Immediately.

I just don’t yet know why.

The sleeping redhead beside me stirs and I’m hit with a sense of revulsion.

It’s a strange thought. She’s gorgeous. She’s why I stayed in town tonight. The banter. The laughs. The booze. Slow dancing with her pressed against me, looking up at me with doe eyes while stroking my chest. She followed me back here to my motel and we fucked for hours. And it was good. Good enough I let her talk me into making plans for tomorrow.

But now? The scent of me on her strikes me as wrong, though not quite as wrong as the scent of her on me.

The digital clock on the night table tells me I’ve only slept a couple hours, but this won’t wait. I know, bone deep, that I need to find out what the fuck is going on at home. My council co-alphas and I have a connection. We feel one another’s distress and adrenaline spikes. When we’re close, we feel it vividly. The fact that I’m hours away and feel it means that whatever is happening, it’s big.

Her eyes open. A smile spreads halfway across her face at seeing my eyes on her before it halts, and her brows lift in question.

I need out of here. Need to know what’s up. But first, I need her scent off me. Inexplicably. Urgently.

“Mason?” she asks.

I stride to the bathroom without answering.

Scalding water, soap, scrubbing, more scrubbing. The shower curtain moves. She’s about to get in with me, so I turn the water off before she drops the sheet she’s wrapped in.

“Hey, sweetheart, you okay?” she inquires, reaching out as if she’s about to touch me.

“Gotta go.” I wrap a towel around my waist, then move past her.

I dry quickly, haul my jeans up, get my shoes on, then throw on a t-shirt and begin to shove the tangle of clothing on the chair into my gym bag before I grab my electronics and head back to the bathroom for my shaving bag.

“Why?” She stands by the bathroom, still wrapped in the bedsheet, on the verge of losing her temper.

This isn’t going to go well.

“I need to go,” I repeat.

“What’s the matter?”

I feel disconcerted. I shake my head while I shrug my coat on. “Intuition. Don’t know what; just gotta get home.”

It’s a good thing the situation that brought me to this town is resolved. I can go with a clean conscience.

“We had plans tomorrow,” she says, sounding hurt.

Except for that. We were going on a hike and a run together.

“I need to go,” I say again, feeling irritated at having to repeat myself.

“What is it?” She grabs my biceps. This makes the sheet fall. And seeing her nude, I feel nothing.

Her face changes. She senses something has shifted between us. And it has. I don’t know what’s going on, but I do know I’m gonna get my ass home so I can find out.

“Can’t explain. Just a feeling. I have the room until eleven. Stay. Whatever.”

She steps back. “Oh. It’s like that,” she spits, ticked. “Should’ve known better.”

“Renee.”

She lifts her hand. “Shoulda known. Broke my own rule. Like you just said, Mason … whatever.”

She stares expectantly and when I don’t reply, because I have no clue what to say, she spins and storms to the bathroom, the slamming of the door making the cheap art hanging on the walls in here rattle.

She told me she didn’t date alphas who had never mated. She lost her alpha mate a few years ago and said she wouldn’t typically spend time with someone like me, someone unmated because she didn’t want to get attached only to have her heart broken because I’d find my mate after she developed feelings. It’s not the first time I’ve heard it, either.

We’ve all either experienced or seen it – a couple splitting suddenly because one of them found their true mate. We’ve had women shy away from unmated alphas, because though alphas can develop feelings, have relationships with anyone, when they find that one person, that one trumps all others.

I told her I had no plans to leave my pack, made it known I was only here a few days and was down to have a good time. Nothing more. She knows I’m a council alpha in the Arcana Falls pack. In no way did I lead Renee down the garden path.

If she wanted more than just a night of fun, why the fuck would she hook up with an unmated alpha from another pack? The pack I’m part of, our reputation, not to mention our conversation before we left that bar – she knew this was all it was gonna be.
